| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

How on Earth had he gotten out here? One moment, he was walking a pleasent forest, thinking about his forgotten past, and the rest of the day. The next he was so deep in mud he could not see his knees. Had he really been so lost in thought that he had gotten this lost out here? Apparently so, since here he was, paying for not paying attention to where he was going until he was lost. Just perfect. The place seemed eirily quiet, and it reminded him of the nightmare he had the previous night for some reason. Within the nightmare, he was alone, when he was found by an evil woman he did not seem quite... human. They battled, and H'tes lost. The nightmare ended there, but within it, the fight had been so intense. Less like a dream, more like a memory of a battle he had. He could remember this woman of the dark changing her shape halfway through, almost feel the pain of every blow, the terror that his life could have ended, but now it was a vague memory of a nightmare. Now, he was alone once more, and the thought of that dream was creeping him out a little. He tried to shake himself out of it, as he moved on, but even as he continued, he kept looking behind him, feeling as though someone might be there. The idea that someone could be lurking around, hidden in the mud, came into his mind. Then he looked up into the trees, that he knew could hide someone as well. After about an hour of thoughts of hidden horrors, H'tes finally decided enough was enough, and went up into a tree. It was dark, and he knew he would not be able to do much more. He was tired, and frightened. After some time, he was able to sleep. --- He was chainedin a way where he stood in the middle of a large, dark room. She was there, giggling. The giggle sent chills up his spine. Anything that made her laugh had to be bad. He tried to struggle, but he already knew that was useless enough already. As she circled him, he had the distinct feeling like he was about to be pounced on by a wild animal making his fears grow. She stopped at his back. He felt it was about to come. ”How do you feel about...” She pressed the tip of the blade to his flesh of his back, grinning with glee. ””This?” He gasped for a moment, but stopped an actual scream from coming. It was more of a rhetorical question than an actual one. The demoness dug the edge of the hilt into his flesh, cutting upwards and sideways without lifting the tip off his skin. as she continued to move the blade across him, making her art a more permanent mark on him, he could not hold back the screams of agony. She was carving a picture of a angelic looking goddess impaled on a crucifix, serpents coiled around her bleeding body. Some lines were sliced through twice in order to make another one. He could struggle and scream all he wanted to, there was no way he was getting away now. The demoness carved a halo atop her head and withdrew the hilt of the blade and licked the trickling scarlet fluid from the blackened edge. She laughed as she enjoyed her work, making H'tes feel all the more afraid of what was to come. She went away for a moment, but as she came back, H'tes saw her weapon. A leather whip would be a particularly painful weapon. H'tes eyes could not hide his fear. "I’m Lady Darkness. Remember my name,” she said with a cruel hiss in her voice. ”You’ll be screaming it later.” He did not doubt it. --- H'tes awoke with a scream, panting hard. He touched his back, and sure enough there it was. He had noticed it before, but only now knew why it was there. It had been etched into him, as a permanant mark. So that was Lady Darkness? That was the woman who had claimed him as her property? No wonder he had ran away and found a way to erase his memories. That was so... horrible. Why would anyone do that to somebody? |

"Rraezanon. Will you please tell me again... why the hell are we here again!?" Fehade hissed darkly, angered, he closed his fists tighter around the reins. But the infused didn't answer, merely laugh at the tiefling, the sound stabbed through Fehade's mind, if a normal being had laughed at him, he would have done worse then just kill them. The nightmare, Evier, walked off the trail and into the deeper parts of the marsh, her hooves dug deep into the muddy water, her intelligent eyes showed as much disgust as his own. He patted his nightmare on her neck, but she merely snorted and threw her head back. He knew what exactly she meant by that. They continued on for a hour or so like this, boredom weighed on Fehade, he hated getting bored, he would have to go on a mini killing spree after this, maybe find his little pet and give her a few more scars, which sounded like a fine idea to him. Then he heard a scream cut through the air. Evier stopped in her tracks for a minute, and looked about. "Sounded close. Maybe that person met the rat. Wouldn't be surprised." He mainly talked to himself. But then, if it was the rat, then there would be a lot more screaming, unless the rat was terrible in even torture. He swung his leg around and jumped onto the ground, grimacing as mud got on him. Oh well. He tied the reins to the horn on the saddle, making sure they were loose, then started walking ahead of Evier, heading in the direction of the scream. Red eyes scanned the area as he looked around for the source of the scream. He glanced up then, not really knowing why, but something told him someone could be up there even. He quickly grabbed a handful of Evier's mane as he hit a soft spot, his foot went knee deep, but pulled himself to keep going with help of the horse. Then he did notice some one in a tree. He stood there a moment, staring up at the boy, before a thin smile slid over his face. He walked nearer the tree, and leaned his shoulder against it, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword. "You know, boy. If you think a tree is a safer place then ground, you'll be greatly mistaken. The rat who claims this marsh has many creatures that crawl all over." |

Shortly after awakenign with a fright, H'tes could hear something. Oh goodness, what could it be after a nightmare like that? His imaginations invented gigantic monsters, evil demons, and all sorts of other things for him to further frighten himself before anything even showed itself. Of course, eventually, he saw someone coming by. The man was rather tall, and he had a horse that just looked... powerful. A little evil, sure, but powerful was the word that came to H'tes' mind. Of course, the man himself looked a little odd, and a tad on the side of demonic, but H'tes was not a good judge of what was normal anyways. This man looked up, to see H'tes, and spoke to him. No safety in heights, eh? H'tes did not like the sound of that. And what was this 'rat' the man spoke of? He seemed to be more of a force then a litteral rat by the description. "Actually," said H'tes, who despite the warning thought it best to stay in the tree for now. "I didn't know. I am kind of lost out here, and wouldn't know who claimed this place as their own even if I did know where I was." Telling a complete stranger you were lost and alone? Likely not smart, but H'tes was rather young in his mind, he would not know the concept of concealing information like that. |

It sort of saddened him when the boy didn't come down, it would have been nice to hurt someone, it had been a while since he last killed a person. Or hurt someone, but he didn't want to climb a tree or burn the whole place down to do so, though, he did like the idea of setting the marsh ablaze, it would break the rats heart. He grinned slightly at that, before paying attention to what the boy was saying. He cocked his head to the side. Lost? Hm. That means he is alone, and that if he were to die, no one should care, but that's only if Fehade decided he wanted to kill him, he was a bit to interesting in this to do so right now. "The marsh is easy to get lost in. If you're unlucky, you'll never be able to get out of here alive. Tell me, boy. Are you luckier than others? Do you think you'll come out of here alive?" He asked folding his arms across his chest. If Fehade didn't get him, Vernon would, most likely. Or his pets. Unless Fehade showed a shred of kindness to help him find his way, but the last time he had had been when he was merely sixteen. [[ooc: smaaall]] |

H'tes did not like him. It was just a natural insinct for him not to, it seemed. Something about him just struck H'tes as dangerous and someone to stay away from. H'tes felt an urge to bar his fangs and growl, but he did not go there. He did not know why his instincts wanted to be so animal now, but he would not give in to that feeling, for now. Besides, the man had not actually shown any evils here. Which made H'tes question why he felt such a strong distrust. His next words were also the fault of some weird insinctual response. They barely sounded like him, really, as they were sort of spoken in a low whisper of a tone. "I will get out alive," he said. "And it won't be from luck, either." That sounded rather... tough guy for H'tes, really. It was an odd response from him, who had so far been rather nice to even the strangest of strangers. Perhaps the nightmare had gotten to him? Made him feel defensive and vulnerable. Or perhaps also the atmosphere was to blame, it's dark gloom seeming to go on and on for eternity. Or perhaps a combination of it. That seemed to make sense. But while his mind seemed to want him to back down, and stop acting that why, his posture and personality was instinct driven to stay there for the moment. |
