Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Faraīre had told him to stay away from the forest, Chris felt really bad to have to break the promise he made to her to not ever return here. But he just had to go back to the house they was at the last time he was there, he did not know why but he just had to. The boy slowly walked though the dark trees, this time it was not raining and it was at day so the light was still there even if it still was much darker then normaly. Chirs eyes moved from left to right and he made sure to keep himself alert all the time for anything that could be dangerous, so far nothing had tried to attack him. In fact he had not even heard any strange sound from the forest around him and that made him even more paranoid that something was not as it should be, something was not natural about this.

He walked out into the clearing and there he saw the house from the last time, lonely it was there and still with the damage from Deadpool in his battle with the spider creatures. Chris stopped a few yard away from the building and just looked at it. He closed his eyes for a moment and then he nodded before he slowly began to walk closer, he stopped once again outside of the door. "Hello? Anyone here?" he asked with a low voice, in his mind he was really hoping that no one was going to reply.

His wish was granted since no reply came to his ears. A sight escaped his lips and then he walked inside, the only sound created was from his bare feet against the old wooden floor. YES he knew this place from the vison he had back at the lake when Tristan used that magic on him! This was the building he had seen then. But what could it mean? He had been here before but in his vision the house had not been ruined. Of course it could have been some other house he had seen but it all was so much alike, the way the door was, the stair up to the next floor and even how the furniture stood around the main room. THIS was that house! Suddenly he got a strange shiver down his spine, something was wrong here, he was not alone in the house.

His eyes turned towards a corner of the room, first he did not notice anything out of normal but then he saw that someone was standing there....looking at him. It was a humanoid by the look of things but it was covered in a black cloak with a hood to hide the face. "My you are really slow to remember things you know." the figure said and he could hear from the voice that it was a woman, she calmly walked away from the wall she lent against and on the way she pulled down the hood revealing the face of a young woman with long blond hair and piercing purple eyes. She did not look like she could be very old....at most 16 or 17 if even that much.

But her ears was pointy so she was elven....because of that she could be much older then what she looked like. Chris knew that much, but he did not know what he would say to this...he did not like this woman and just by looking at her sent shivers down his spine...it was a if he had seen her before in the past even if he could not remember where. The look on his face seemed to amuse her much since a low giggled escaped her lips and she tilted her head to the side and placed one hand on her hip. "You still do not remember anything do you? No...that canīt be possible, the memories are still there inside of you...deep inside of your mind. Try and remember now little boy, try and remember something....you can if you try. Like who the woman you saw in the your vision was" the tune of her voice was not very encouraging but it was not evil...she just sounded very amused about everything. Chris eyes widened slightly as she said this. "Do you know her?! Is she somewhere here?!"

The girl laughed as he asked the question and she made a slightly playful gesture with her hand towards him.. "Yea she sure is, well not here to be honest. You see the bad guys are holding her captured somewhere" her smile grew brighter by thw words. "and you as the hero have to go save her from them." she then lowered her hand and her face turned more serious. "But of course there is a small problem with that." the things that happened next happened to quickly for Chris to really see them...the woman was gone a second later and appeared again right in front of him, she made a thrusing move with her hand towards him but Chris dodged it. But she quickly gave him a powerful kick in the chest sending him flying into one of the walls next to the door, a deck of card fell out from a pocket in his pants and it landed on the floor in front of him. The young weretiger feel to the floor on all fours and he had a hard time to breath. "I guess I should have told you I am one of the bad guys" the gilr said still with the same amused tune in her voice.

But Chris did not really hear her words since he had noticed the deck of cards and looked at them as if he had just seen them for the first time. "Did I have those card?" he asked with an very unsure voice, this seemed to take the girl by surprise and her gaze moved down to the cards. For a few secodns she did not say anything, then she frowned a little. "You mean you actually had them all this time I failed to see them or even notice them at all? My you really are slow. Yes you had them all this time, also something that should be buried deep inside of your mind....do try and remember now....what oh what could those card be? and who was it that gave them to you from the begining?" more imiages appeared in front of Chris eyes...the woman from before...the house the card. "It was...it was my....my..."
"Yea sweetie, you have it now...push it out of your mind...remember it!" "It was my....sister! It was my sister!"

The girl smiled and nodded, she also began to walk closer to Chris. "That is so right sweetie, your sister was the one to give these sweet fortune telling card to you. Not that you even bothered to remember it. After all you did not even remember who she was! Talk about a heartless brother!" she calmly bent and picked up the cards from the floor....she examined them for a moment. "Would be a good punishment for you if I should destroy these." she raised her hand and it looked like she was about to use some magic but before she could Chris reacted with instincts and snatched the cards from her hand also ripping her hands with his claws that had appeared at the moment.

The girl jumped backwards and calmly looked at her ruined glowes. Chris glared at her and held the cards close to himself. "Do not come close to them, my sis gave me these and they are very important to me!" the girl examined her hand for another moment and then she looked up at Chris again she looked a little less friendly now. "Oh so you say it is important to you?" she raised her hands slightly and bolts of lightnings began to move up and down her arms, they gathered at her hands and with a flash she was holding two long rapier looking swords. "About ten seconds ago you did not even know what it was!" she made a slashing move with one of the blaeds though the air sending out a rain of small bolt of lightnings.

"You don't want to remember," said the figure in front of H'tes. He was just like H'tes, in almost every way, but there were demonic distortions that H'tes did not have. His eyes were red, instead of the pale blue of H'tes, and rather then the human white of the eyes, this person had black. And also, his pupils were slitted, like a snake. This being also had four, devilish black horns on his head, two small ones in the middle curving a little over the head, and two large ones curving around the sides of the head. Lastly, the difference between H'tes and this person was that this person had a long, black whip-like tail that ended in a spear shape end. "You are simply going to be happier with amnesia. Trust me."

"But it feels so... empty," said H'tes. This was some weird dream, so he did not question why there was a demonic version of himself talking to him. "To not have a past."

"That void will fill as you continue in this world," he said. "But a far worse void would appear if you try to unlock your past. Which is more important? The temporary void of not having a past, or the infinite pain of having your good old past? This is just a warning but, please, kid, don't travel that path. Merely live happily here in the present, look forward to the future, and leave the past forgotten."

---

H'tes awoke from his dream. He had a load of questions. Who was that? Was that who he was with his past? Why did he look so... evil? What was it that was so bad about his past? It didn't seem to make sense. Why would it be so bad to know who he was before? Could it really be that bad?

But at least now he might have a possible answer as to why he forgot. He might have made himself forget out of horror of memory. That seemed to make sense. But still, why? And that question was all he could think as he gathered his new things.

When he said new, it was more like he had found things lying around, and took them. A nice little flute, some clothes, and a sword. It was amazing what people would just leave around in a forest, wasn't it? Why would a person just have a chest without a lock in the middle of the forest with some items of worth just lying there? Oh well, as long as he had them, he would use them, no matter why they simply were just there.

H'tes was off into the world once more. What would the day bring him? It was always wonderful to think that anything could happen. Of course, thoughts of 'and that means anything bad can happen too' always came up, but H'tes was optimistic enough to brush that thought aside. Why would anything bad happen to him? Well, there were plenty of reasons, but he did not want to consider those at the moment.

H'tes came across a house. He heard sounds of talking, and thought he recognised a voice. Chris? It could be, and H'tes found himself curious enough to take a look. What he found was Chris and some woman in some sort of disagreement. Adn then the woman started to throw the bolt of lightning. "Chris!" said H'tes, his hand suddenly sweeping up, almost like he was trying to rip something in the air with his claws, in the direction of the woman.

This was a spell, in actuallity, known as inflict minor wounds. Of course, H'tes did not actually know that, he just did it insinctually, trying to inflict pain on the woman to distract her from attacking Chris. After all, Chris was his friend.

The woman frowned at the sudden apperance of this stranger, she took a steep backwards and looked at the wounds that had been created from the spell, red blood was dripping down from them and her eyes widened slightly. Then she focused her eyes onto the newbie. "You little brat!" she said and her voice was close to a low whisper. "Did your mommy never tell you not to act a hero in places you should not be?"

Chris was very surprised when he saw the boy that had just arrived. "H'tes? Is that you? What are you doing here?" he asked with a few deep breathes....that kick had forced much air out of his lungs alright. The boy carefully placed the cards inside of his clothes and then he looked at his friend for a moment...after that he galnced towards the girl, she did not look like she was much older then H'tes actually.

She tilted her head as she watched them. "Oh and here I thought I was going to be bored...well then boys shall we play a little?" she calmly moved the two blades in her hands and then she smirked wickedly. "Any special limbs you would want to lose first sweeties...or you want me to take the pick myself?" But before they could reply she was gone, and a moment later she appeared behind Chris giving him another powerful kick sending him flying though the room and down on the floor on the other side. She then moved the eyes to H'tes. "Little boys should not be alone in the dark forest...it can be dagerous. Boys like you need to be spanked...harsly." as she talked she slowly began to walk towards the boy and as she did sparks of lighting began to move from her arms out into the blades she was holding.

Chris growled a little and quickly got to his feet, he turned around and noticed that the girl was now on her way to H'tes! He ran back across the room and on the way he suddenly began to change as fur began to grow out on his body, his teeth became sharper and claws appeared from his hans. But he was not going to get to H'tes right away.

OOC: If my H'tes had some memories, he would so something so smartass right now. And if he had some memories of other versions of himself, he would say something really, really cocky XD But, he doesn't, so I go with something else.

IC: She looked angry at his attack. What did she expect after attacking his friend? H'tes would not simply let that one slide. In fact, something in him was screaming for him to rip her to pieces. But he held those thoughts back. Best to concentrate on simply beating her right now. "No, she didn't," said H'tes. "Mostly because I don't even know my mother."

H'tes smiled at Chris. The smile showed his teeth, including those fang-like canines he had. "Well of course it's me," said H'tes. "Well, that is if my name is really H'tes, or that I am not some fake me who thinks he is me. But I don't think that is the case. And I am here to help a friend, silly." H'tes eyes went back to the woman. She seemed to be elven in nature, and was actually rather pretty, except that H'tes was not in the mode of thinking to care.

The woman spoke for a bit, but before any reply could be made, she vanished. Wait... this felt... incredibly familiar. He felt as though he had seen this done before. But where? No time to think about it, said his own instinct. He could see she went behind Chris when he fell to the ground. Instant movement would be a hard power to fight against, that was for sure.

The woman began to move towards him, and he slowly stepped back, his sword in one hand in front of him. He could see the electric sparks over the blade, and knew it would not be too wise to get hit by that, or be holding his own sword if he had to block it or hit it, since the shock would likely travel to him. That would be another annoying ability.

When she got close enough, he decided to go ahead and slash at her from the right. He just hoped she would dodge rather then try to block, since the shock would probably hurt him.

A laughed escaped the girls lips as he said this reply. "Oh another one with little memories, my this place is full of them I have noticed" she commented calmly after he had said this.

Chris looked at H'tes as he was talking, then the boy smiled a little, he called Chris his friend, the boy did not seem to mind the fangs at all...after all he had played with werewolfs many times before. He was used to much larger fangs then that. "Friend? Thanks H'tes" the teen said as a reply to what the othe rone said. Those words did give him some strenght since he knew he was not alone in this. H'tes was his friend and with a friend there he could not fail!

The girl seemed very amused when he began to walk backwards. When he then attacked it would seem as if she was about to dodge it but then she raised one of the blades and blocked H'tes sword with it. She smirked and a slight giggled escaped her lips. "Missed me, shocking is it not? Now be a good boy and just die already...what is....what are you doing you little cat brat!"

In fact those words was inside of Chris when he watched the woman walk towards his friend, no he was not going to let her hurt him! The boy that charged in towards the woman used the moment when she blocked the attack from H'tes and took a jump and landed right on her back, he quickly buried his catlike fangs into her shoulder and the claws into her sides, both the once at the feet and the hands. He did not care about the blood that came into the mouth. "I wont let you hurt my friend, come on H'tes....strike her while I pin her down...do it" he growled out with a low voice, still with his teeth in her skin. He looked at H'tes and his eyes looked very catlike now, but it was still the same eyes.

"Yeah, I am one of those," he said to her comment. "Although, after a weird dream I had, I think I might have gotten this way on purpose. Odd, huh?" He had been thinking about that a lot lately. It was just a dream, but it always could have happened, really and truly.

H'tes was afraid she would block it, and so she did. The electricity travelled into his blade, and from there into his arm. The shock made him scream in pain for a moment, before jumping back. This was a new experience for H'tes, who now had his eyes closed. Pain was an interesting feeling for him to experience, as a well as anger, of which he now felt both because of the same girl. His eyes focussed on her, and in those moments, they became slits for just a second. Of course, by that time, she was being pinned down by Chris.

And he was biting down on her shoulder, and H'tes caught sight of blood. He again felt that part of him that was ready to rip her to pieces, and this time he agreed more. He went forward. "Alright," said H'tes. He raised his blade, and stabbed at her, making sure to miss Chris and only hit her. If he hit then... that would likely be the end of this person. But H'tes had the oddest feeling he was going to miss this attack for some reason. Perhaps it was that teleport ability.

Chris had a hard time to keep the woman still since she tried to shake him off of her back, then her eyes moved to H'tes and she noticed his incomming attack. The blade began to cut into her body when she dissappeared into thin air again, this time she rappeared on the other side deeper into the house, her clothes was ruined pretty much and she had blood pouring out from her wounds, both the once created by Chris and the one deep she got from H'tes blade. She looked at them and it looked like she had a rather hard time breathing. "Mission...success...." she whispered with a low voice, then her body began to glow with a purple light as the wounds quickly healed themselves. "This was fun boys, we have to do this again sometimes. But Iīm afraid I have to you know...leave." as she talked she picked out something from inside of her clothes, she looked at it for a moment and then she grinned and put it back. "You did very well really, you almost had me...well not that I even was close to fighting seriously. Now you be a good boy and come save your sister before something bad happen to her....we donīt want that now do we?" she laughed and then she closed her eyes for a moment and when she opened them again she focused the gaze onto H'tes. "We have to play some other time cuteness, you really have steam inside of that body. If only you was not such a whimp. Oh and I would advice you not to do anything stupid or heroic towards me now, or someone might get hur...and it is none of us I assure you"

Chris had fallen to the ground as she dissappeared, he was lucky the blade did not hit him instead of the target it was meant for. The boy quickly got to his feet and turned around to look to where the woman stood, he took a few deep breathes and then he frowned a little, that was weird. Well no time for that now, thinking would have to wait. Chris watched her carefully and he listened to her words as she was talking, he growled a little as she mentioned his sister again, a sister he did not even know the name of...he just knew he had one that was the only important thing to him at the moment. But when she said the last part it was as if the air went out from him and he lowered both his arms, the claws began to grow back into his hands and so did the fur...until he once again was the normal human boy he really was.

H'tes was... confused. First she is getting beaten up for a while, then she claims she has had a successful mission for her, then... sister? Chris had a sister? Well, of course he could have, considering the no memory thing would kind of involve unknown family members, but... wait, save his sister? She was in danger? What exactly had he walked into in here?

"First of all," said H'tes, turning to Chris. "You have a sister? Do you even remember her?" He then turned back to the woman. "She's in trouble? I am assuming you are among her captors so... why are you telling Chris to save her?" The confusion was building up quite a bit in H'tes as he kept thinking up questions. Of course, there was one thing to distract him from the lines of question that ran through his mind.

Wimp, huh? Considering he had, as far as he knew it, never fought before in his life, and all of what he had done so far was complete instinct and nothing more, H'tes felt 'wimp' was not a good term for himself. 'Unrefined' and 'Without Training' sure, but wimp felt... mean. But there was one thing that kept him from blowing all of that out of his mouth as he usually did when he thought anything.

Cuteness. He was... cute? That thought made him blush slightly, though he tried to hide it with an angry look as though he was concentrating more on the 'wimp' comment then the 'cuteness' one. It would be best not to thank enemies on things like that, because then they just have something to mock you about or use against you. At least, that's where H'tes line of thought went.

Chris looked at H`tes when he began to talk, the boy nodded. "I think I have a sister...I remember her face...and what she was...but no name" he said lowly. "Oh I donīt know....I donīt know what I remember" he focused his eyes on the girl as he wanted to hear what she would say to what his friend asked her.

The girl looked at him and then she got a rather thoughtful expression in her face. "Well that is something for me to know and you to find out. One day..." she sighed a little. "Not like I will just tell you right out like this....no that would be far to easy, oh what to do?" she placed a finger on her cheek as she said this and got s thoughtful expression. "Well whatever, to tell the truth everything of this is just...." she stopped and looked around, then she frowned. "Perfect timing boss, I was just getting to the good part...Iīm coming alright, cut it out!" she moved some hair from her face and then she looked at the two boys again. "Looks like we will have to cut it from here...so sorry, but you know I have places to go to...lives to ruin...tata." then her body was turned into bolts of lighting and she was gone.

Chris just stood there for a moment, then he felt the pain in his back and stomach from the kicks he had gotten. He sat down on the floor and took a few deep breathes, then he looked at his friend. "are you okey H`tes?" he asked a little worried. Then he sighed and looked down at the floor. "Iīm sorry you had to be pulled into this to."

"Well, that's good you at least have some hint at family," said H'tes. Which made Chris think for a bit. Did he have any family out there? Well, probably, right? They had to be out there somewhere. Perhaps he would one day bump into a clue about them like Chris here had done. Although, he hoped his clue was not some evil woman testing his skills, mocking those same skills, and possibly trying to kill him. Not that he couldn't handle himself, but that wasn't really the point, was it?

Speaking off weird woman... Who was she talking to? H'tes actually had to take a look around. Who was her boss? Maybe she was crazy and hearing voices? No, wait... maybe... telepathic communication? That was possible, right? Well, ina world where he could wound someone with a gesture, and she could teleport in the blink of an eye, anything was possible, as far as H'tes knew. But all the same, who was she talking to? Better yet, who was she? He got no name from that whole event.

Chris was worried about him? H'tes smiled. "I jumped into this, actually," said H'tes. "Don't give yourself a hard time. Well, actually, I would do it again in a way where we win and get more information so that I am not so confused. What exactly... happened? All I heard was you and her... arguing or something, so I came around, and saw her attacking you. And that's where I jumped in. So, what was all that about? Unless she was as confusing to you as she was to me. With her odd mix of compliments and insults."

Chris listened to his friend as he was talking and the boy had to smile a little. "Thanks for that" he said, then he frowned about the questions he asked, he thought about what he just happened. "I had a strange feeling that I knew this house from before, I still get the feeling but the weird is that this house must have stood here for many years....very weird really." he said with a thougthful voice as he looked around, "When I came here that girl was there, she talked about me having to remember something...how could she have knowns about the dreams I had of this girl who I think is my sister? I mean...it do not fit you know."

Chris sighed a little and placed his hands on the sides of his head. "This is so confusing....I know as much as you....oh now I wish I had not remember my sister, this is confusing and It hurts....stupid memories...." he took a few deep breathes and then he looked up at H'tes. "Would you sit down with me for a while H'tes? I really could use to have someone to talk with right now." he gave the other boy a friendly smile as he said this.

Well, at least Chris had the good news that he was at least getting something of memories coming back. His bad news was that it was so vividly confusing it hurt. That really must suck, H'tes thought. To get bits and pieces, only to be denied any real information, leaving only the confusion and continuing need to know more. H'tes was glad all he got so far was a weird dream where he talked to himself, because this other method sounded much more annoying.

It re-emberced the thought that perhaps not remembering things was a lot better then remembering them. There was a reason the both of them had lost their memories, and perhaps there were different reasonings, but still a reason, and perhaps it was best to leave well enough alone if they could. Unfortunately, Chris did not seem to have a choice on that one.

"Sure I can," said H'tes, sitting himself down on the floor. He could always be here to help out a friend, even if in actuality he barely knew Chris. But, he also barely knew himself, which might explain why he was so easy to befriend. After all, if you know everyone else about as well as you know yourself, it was easy to befriend people. At least, it was for H'tes.

Chris smiled at him when he sat down next to him on the floor. The boy was younger then H'tes and that was clear since H'tes looked much more mature then what Chris did. "I am going to ignore this H'tes, It is to much and I do not even know if the memory about my sister are real or not." he sighed and shook his head slowly, then he thought for a moment. "But letīs talk about something else, how are things going for you? I mean have any memories returned or or? Sorry if I ask to much and I understand if you do not want to reply to that." the boy yawned slightly and stretched his arms, he tried his best to force these events out from his head and for some reason it was easier then what he would have thought it to be. That was very weird.

He then remembered something and picked out some rations from inside of his clothes, it was dried meat he had gotten from Faraīre to use when she was not around, Chris had to eat something, the boy smiled and handed some of it to H'tes. "You want some to H'tes? Itīs rabbit, it taste really nice actually, well not as good as when they are fresh but it was still better then eathing nothing" he grinned ever so slightly as he said this comment.

Ignore it? Well, that did sound like the best thing to do for now. True, his sister seemed in danger, but there was no way to know who she even was, let alone where she was. It would not be a help to her any faster for her if Chris here just wracked his brain on who she was and such. "No problem," said H'tes. "You don't have to talk about it."

Was Chris so worried about bugging H'tes he had to apologize at every question? That was sweet but highly misplaced on H'tes. "You don't have to apologize, silly," said H'tes, happily. "No memories for me just yet. Although... I did have this weird dream." H'tes thought about it for a while, as to the exact dream, recalling every detail. "Some weird... evil looking me was talking to... me. He told me I was better off without looking into my past... Weird, huh?"

H'tes stomach growled when he saw the meat. He could not help but lick his lips before replying by taking some, and biting into it. He then looked at Chris, with those pale blue eyes and said "Thank you!" rather excitedly, before digging into it once more.

Chris was happy he did not have to talk about it, now he just had to find something else to talk about to let go of things. He blushed slightly at what his friend said about that he did not have to apologize. "Okey I will make sure to remember that then" he said and grinned a little. Then he calmnly listened to H'tes as he talked about his weird dream, Chris did not say anything until he was done talking, then he calmly thought to himself for a moment. "Well that was a weird dream alright" he said with a thoughtful voice. "I wonder what I could mean, I have actually been thinking something like that...I mean what I my past is much worse then what I have now...I mean I have Faraīre who is taking care of me and I know she loves me and she is my mother now, I also have so many friends I love much...I mean I am not sure if I could go back to my former life if I remember it you know what it was. Not if I would have to leave everyone behind."

Chris made a pause and then he looked at his friend, he grinned as H'tes accepted the meat and quickly began to eat from it, well Chris was right that he was hungry alright. The boy himself began to eat from his meat to, yeah it was really nice actually.. "No problem, I do have some more if that is not eough, I get a feeling your pretty hungry" he calmly picked a small bag and placed it on the floor between them. "Feel free to eat all you want, I do not eat much anyway. I can always restock when I get back to the cave later. No buts now, just eat if you want."
