Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Another blow to the stomach. One to the cheek, head lashed to the side after falling forward. Slammed against the wall, he braced himself with his arms against the cold stone. His hair was pulled and his head was almost crushed by someone's knee. Blood ran down from his nose. He didn't care, he was a scumbag, he was lower than dirt in this world, he was Refilu. He didn't deserve anything more than cruelty, but these drunk Humans took his words wrong. They were trash in his mind, they would die sooner or later of their own means or of age if it came down to it. He would just laugh at them, their death would be the continuing flow of life and nobody would truely care.

Another blow struck close to his neck, he was knocked onto the ground. It was painful everywhere, though he didn't care. He was ready to stand back up when they left. Not even he enjoyed pain, though could tolerate it just fine. Pushing his head up from the dirt with his arms. Holding himself up on his knees, forarm, and one hand. He puked from the beating that was put on him. Some blood came up as well. Standing up he checked himself for broken bones. His arms and legs were all good. He felt his chest, maybe one cracked rip. He wiped the blood from his upper lip and cracked his neck getting rid of a knot.

"Damned Humans, pointless lives." Refilu spat out in his hatred. He wouldn't deal a single deed against them, they would die on their own means and it would be more painful than any murder. The truth of the world was said to come after Death, it would drive them all mad. He saw it before hand, it already effected hiim too much.

SHain had seen the exchange between the drunkards and the fiendish looking man, but had held back. He was not one for jumping into a random brawl with someone he did not know, though it did make him sick that they had taken to abusing the man with no prior aggression shown Which was why when they began to walk away, leaving the man heaped and alone, Shain quietly stepped out, poisoned dagger in hand and proceeded to have his way with them. The surprised looks on their faces lasted for half a second before he had stabbed one the throat, gutted another, and gashed the lasts cheek. Kicking the last one down, he activated the knives magic, sending waves of venom into the man's blood stream. Shain walked away as the last drunk's face began to contort with the realization of death, sheathing the dagger in the folds of his cloak.

"The tend to be stupid due to a lifespan that is but a blink in our eyes. When you have an entire life to live in less than one hundred years, you do many pointless things." He looked the being up and down, trying to guess his origin. However, it was very much out of his reach. It was easy to know he was not of the race of men, considering his comment, which obviously meant he had a longer lifespan. Shain decided not to bring up the topic of his origin at the moment however, and instead focussed on the reason for the fight

"While it was rather inconsiderate of them to attack you so, I must point out that you did nothing in return. Might I ask why, I you do not mind the question?" Shain's whites eyes stared intently at the others, looking for any give aways the man might give him.

The cutting of flesh and twisting of metal through some bones and mostly horrid flesh. It reminded of how Refilu wished to be free of the damn flesh and bones. Screams and shouts as well, the men that had beaten him up were dead now as he head a few bodies hit the gorund. He stood still facing the other direction. So it was all sooner than he expected, he hadn't meddled in their afairs and their death came anyways. Everyone would die...

Someone had murdered them, it wasn't needed but he didn't care. The Fallen Cestrial turned his head and glared with one of his maddened eyes at the one that had done the deed. He wasn't anger or upset by this action, nor could he give a crap. He was an Elf, though Elves didn't tend to think on the lives of Men like that, he was different.

Refilu's wings seemed to make a viel around him, hiding him from much around him, though it was obvious he was there, he stilled glared at the Elf with his crazed eye as he drew closer. "Why would I give them what they wanted, a fight? Only those who are lowest in their life attack those who they deem lower than them. Thus in attacking me, they have become worse than the dirtbag I am and I won't honor them with my care of what they do." He explained in a voice devoid of emotion. He turned away to face in front of him, this Elf would maybe ask more questions that he probably didn't want to answer.

This being was obviously not talkative, something Shain understood and respected. However, the answer he was given made little sense to him. To prove one was above another by laying down your arms and allowing them to defile and brutalize you without any opposition. It was not weakness, true, but neither was it strength. To Shain, It seemed more to be a misplaced sense of piety. This man may very well be so far above these men, but his actions, despite what he said, told him that the man's pride was more at stake, and saw that taking unneeded blows would save it instead of his body.

"Attack those lower than them unneeded, perhaps. Defending ones self is not attacking in such a sense however. You do not have to kill them as I did, but enough to drive them off is fine. Why feed their own delusions that they are greater than others by laying down your own arms. It does them little good if they are allowed to live in this false sense of self heightening, putting themselves on pedestals above the rest of us. I admit, I lowered myself to attacking them, and unneeded gesture, most likely leaving at least one widow in a house tonight. Do I honestly care? No. I may have saved a life by not letting such scum ravage others. Perhaps the widow herself now lives to see a better husband."

His deadened eyes stared at the being, waiting for some gesture of response.
