Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

“I guess we do then,” he grinned and lay down with his paw-hands out in front of him. As his tail lazily wagged behind him the werewolf listened in on the world. Tracyn glanced down towards his backpack and sniffed at something in it before returning his attention to Chris. “Wish I could help with that, but I’m afraid I can only help with injuries and sickness. Mental issues are not my field.” He let his ears limp to indicate some kind of embarrassment. “Hurt? Not at all! I mean it feels weird alright, kinda like you loose all feeling which I’m guessing is so that you don’t feel any pain. I’d guess that the process would be very painful otherwise. Don’t worry; I’m sure you’ll get used to it. Its kind of fun actually!” He grinned and nudged the boy’s side with his snout.

The crunching sound that could only come from footsteps walking in a forest caught his attention. Tracyn’s ears perked and he slowly scanned the area for the sound. The werewolf locked in on the sound and growled defensively. “Someone’s coming.” He backed to Chris and stood over him protectively. “Grab on if that person isn’t too friendly. I can get us out of here nice and fast.” He lowered slightly so that he covered Chris better and also was in easier reaching distance should the boy need to grab onto his fur coat.

Fara're was beginning to get worried about Chris. He had been out longer than expected. And the last time this happened she had found him in the Spiderwood Haunt. She hoped she would not find him there again.

She was thankful she she tracked him this time around his scent lead her to the lake, away from the darker portions of the forest. As she grew closer she picked up a different scent, unfamilar to her. But it was a kind of scent that she knew all to well. A werewolf. Her ears went flat. It seemed another wolf had entered Norwood. That made four in total she had run across while she had been here.

She carefully stalked on all fours as she followed the scents. They were close together and that bothered her. The only werewolf she felt she could trust at all was Tamia. And that was because she could tell he had a good heart. She had no clue about this unknown mutt.

As she came close to the lake she saw Chris, and the wolf. THe mutt was on top of Chris and it looked like he was about to attack the child. With a snarled Fara're lept out of the forest into view.

She glared at the wolf with her golden eyes. "Get away from the boy," she snarled. "If you have harmed a hair on his head, I swear you will pay for it dearly."

Chris listened to what Tracyn said, he shoomk the head slightly. "No I did not think any kind of healing would be able to help me get my memories back again" he said calmly and looked up into the sky. "I will just have to regain them myself in some way....might be as when you forget something important, it will come back again when you do not think about it anymore." he grinned slightly as he said this.

Then his eyes moved to Tracyn as he talked about the transformation and how it feeled...he shivered slightly as he heard it. "Well Fara´re will be therwe with me when I transform the first time....so I know I will be fine....yea I will be just fine." he said happily and closed his eyes for a moment, then he opened them again and took a deep breath.

Chris froze as Tracyn said he heard something and placed himself over the boy....he looked around to see if he could see anything, but he made himself ready to grabb onto Tracyn if needed to. It was then he heard a familiar voice and turned the gaze there....It was Fara´re! But why did she act like that...oh...Chris looked up at Tracyn...it really did look like he was going to try and eat him when he stood like that. Chris knew he had to do something about it before someone was hurt....most likely Tracyn from Fara´re kick ass skills.

"Fara´re, no Tracyn is not dangerous.....he is really nice and he is a healer." the boy said as he cravled out from under the werewolf and stood up in front of him. "See I´m fine Fara´re, well I was scared at first when he suddenly transformed and so but then when he saw that I was afraid he became very sad....so I felt sorry for him and told him that I was not afraid anymore and I am not." he looked at Tracyn and then Fara´re. "I´m sorry if I made you worried and not came home but I have had so much fun with Tracyn that I forgot about the time...." he looked down as he said this and one could see that he was sad that he made Fara´re worry about him again,,,

Tracyn flinched as the woman broke from the cover of the treeline. She looked demon possessed with the way her stare bore into him and he nearly broke with the boy in tow then but stopped just short when she spoke. It was defensive towards the boy, which meant that she had to have been the girl Chris had called Fara’re. He still hovered near the boy protectively though but let him slide out and over towards her as he began to speak himself.

The werewolf straightened from his previously hunched state and sniffed at the woman. “You smell like a were too… Oh, but don’t take that in a bad way.” He held his hands up defensively. “Just, you know…” He tilted his head slightly and sat back down as he feared it would seem like he was insulting his intelligence to continue further. Tracyn scratched behind his ear as he watched the woman still wary of an attack of some sort.

Fara're relaxed as Chris explained the situation. So the wolf had merely been trying to protect him when he heard someone coming. The weretiger rose to her feet and walked over to Chris.

"Well I guess I should appologize then," she said.

She then looked to Chris. She sighed and shook her head. It was more at herself than at him. She worried too much about him. He was young, but he was not a child. He could take care of himself and she should not worry this much about him. She hoped she could relax a bit more once she knew he could control his were ablities.

"I think I need to appologize to you too, Chris. I let myself worry too much. I should trust you more. Once you gain control of your abilities, I think I will be able to relax easier," she said.

The then raised an eye brow and looked to Tracyn as he said she smelled like a were. She swished her long tiger tail back and forth and twitch her ears. "I smell like a were? What did you think I was just some random cat lady?"

By the smirk on her face it was clear she was teasing. The fierceness she had just a few moments before now completely gone. Chris was safe, and found a new friend. What was there to worry about?

Chris looked back at Tracyn as he was talking, he smiled at his newfound friend. Of course Fara're smelled like a were....she was one. His eyes then turned to Fara're as he heard her come closer to them. She did not serm mad at him and he blinked a few times as she asked him to forgive her. The boy calmly hugged the woman. "It's okey Fara're, I will train really much so that I can protect myself just like you. I promise."

Chris giggled slightly as Fara're commented what Tracyn said. "Maybe he just wanted to check to be on the safe side. Then he thought for a moment and looked Fara're in the face. "I asked Tracyn before if it hurt for him to transform....he said it did not hurt...is it the same for us to?

Tracyn lowered his ears in what equated to him giving an embarrassed smile as he watched her still. “Uh… yeah. Well um, I’m sure there are cat ladies somewhere. Or werehumans,” His ears perked as he came across that small new possibility and he paused for a few moments as he thought that over. “Not that I’d be trying to make fun of anyone as pretty as you.” He blurted out without thinking. Strange, he had been doing a lot more thinking, yet was acting a lot less based on them if that made any sense. Just trying to process that made his head hurt. Whenever that happened he just cut the train of thought right then and there, usually replacing it with something a lot less complicated…

The healer smiled towards Chris. Well it certainly looked like he was in good hands. Probably was also safer in hers too since she could defend with a great deal of force. Tracyn’s smile diminished slightly, he did not condemn people who fought but the simple thought of he himself fighting was slightly repulsive. To bring harm to another person, or even worse: death was simply unthinkable to the healer. He never really understood why others were so intent on resolving things with violence, but there wasn’t anything he could really do about it. All he could do was do his best to save the ones who had been wounded.

She smiled at Chris. "I am sure you will be able to transform soon enough. It just takes some getting use to. As for it hurting...no it does not hurt me. But I have heard that those who are unable to control their transformations, like new turned lycants, the pain is unbearable. That is why alot of lycants go insane, and why I do what I can to ensure that others like us can learn to control it. It is easier if you are born a lycant, like me though."

She then looked up and smiled at Tracyn as he made some comment about her being pretty. She gave him a flirtasious wink. "And I don't mind being made fun of by men as handsom as you are," she said.

This was the first time she had flirted with a werewolf. But then again it was one of the only times a wolf had not attacked her on sight. It was a refreshing change. Besides Tracyn seemed kind hearted and gentle. It was just too bad he was a werewolf and not a tiger. He would have made a much better cat.

Tracyn made a thoughtful expression as she expressed her ideas on the situation. “I don’t remember what it was like for me though. If I wasn’t all furry right you could probably see the bite marks.” He sat down again and rested his head on his knuckles. “Maybe that’s why I don’t remember it…” He trailed off as he thought about the unbearable pain and also why he couldn’t remember anything that had happened on those full moons. It took Seth to make him realize that he was indeed a werewolf; perhaps just knowing made the transition easier.

Then the weretiger’s response made his ears perk. “Me?” He gave her a surprised stare, “I mean you’re basically cat, and I’m a dog. That wasn’t exactly supposed to mix and... uh…” The trailing off was due to the failure at escaping the otherwise uncomfortable situation. Well it did kind of feel nice to be called handsome, though how she came to that conclusion from seeing him in his hairy dog-like form was beyond him. So he tried to make the best of the situation, giving a dog smile and stretching slightly. “Thanks, but I still wouldn’t want to insult you or anything,” he glanced over to Chris for a moment to see what he was up to before looking at Fara again.

Chris listened to them both as they where talking, the boy tilted his head to the side and looked at Tracyns weird epression...it looked like was thinking about something because his face turned all serious. But Chris did not have time to ask before Fara´re started to talk about the transformation.

His eyes winded slightly as she spoke of the pain was unbearable for new lycants....what if he was that! "I don´t want to go insane!" he said and there was a slight hint of panic in his voice. "What If I`m new and then the pain will be unbearable?....I don´t want to go insane from that...." those words only made Chris more unsure what he would do...he did not like the sound of unbearable pain and insanity to follow. His tail moved rather odd as it did when he was upset or afraid of something. "I´m not sure I want to transform anymore....I´m scared...." he said the last part with a rather low voice.

Fara're place a hand on Chris' shoulder. "Don't worry," she said calmly. "The fact that you have a tail tells me that you won't go insane. It is highly likely that you already know how to transform, you just forgot how to with the rest of your memories. It is just a matter of getting to to remember."

"Besides, if you follow the training I have been giving you, the transformation will be painless. I promise," she said.

She looked to Tracyn. He mentioned being biten, so he was a turned lycant. "I take it you are not a werewolf by choice or birth then," she said. "Maybe I could help you also gain full control of your abilities. Besides, I think Chris would like a training buddy."

She gave Tracyn a smile and a wink. She really did hope that he would say yes. She could tell he was not like the other werewolves she had met. Besides Chris seemed to really like him.

Tracyn gave Fara’re a stunned look, he had never even thought of that possibility. However, it made sense now that he thought about it. If the boy had indeed been one before it might have been an explanation as to why he had been stuck somewhere in-between at the moment. Tracyn’s face became that of one mildly confused as he struggled to figure it out, but his train of thought was broken by the weretiger.

His brows shot up and he smiled brightly to Fara’re, “Really? I’d love that.” He grinned. It would be a lovely thing to be able to control his otherwise random transformations, excluding the change at a full moon. That moon could never be overcome, simply seeing it enacted the change and there was nothing he could do about it other than look away. Coincidentally due to his rather sudden spurt of higher thinking he enacted a premature change back to a human form.

Tracyn blinked as he stood straight and grunted as he realized the weight now around his neck. The healer pulled the backpack from around his neck and looked for his shirt that was held within it for a moment before glancing over to where Fara’re was, giving a shrug. “Yeah… I’d like to be able to stop doing that.” He gave another smile tinged with embarrassment while he rolled his shoulders to loosen them up after having been quite tight as a significantly more muscular werewolf. That darn ache in his neck though, he must have done something to irritate it. Tracyn frowned; he must have shaken his head too fast or too far as a werewolf. The healer grumbled and worked at the annoyance with his hands. He could probably heal it rather quickly, but whenever he shifted back his concentration was temporarily sapped and so could not tend to it which left Tracyn rather displeased.

Chris listened to Fara´re as she was talking and it looked like the words comfoted him a little, he nodded. "Okey Fara´re, I understand" he replied with a smile and scratched himself in the hair for a few seconds. "Okey....I will try my very best." he looked at Tracyn as Fara´re asked if he would want to train with them...he just had to say yes because Chris liked this man, it would be awesome to have a training buddy!

He smiled happily at Tracyns reply. "Yea I would love to have a training buddy." he tilted his head as Tracyn returned to his human form, he was still cool even when not a werewolf. The boys eyes moved to Fara´re again and then back to Tracyn and to Fara´re again. "Fara´re, since we are were....do we not transform in the light of the full moon like a werewolf? Or is that just something they have? Just a curious question." since he had no idea how things worked for a weretiger...did they have a time when they transformed?

Fara're smiled at the two. "I will be more than happy to help both of you in training. Besides I think it will do Chris good to have someone besides just me to spend time with," she said.

She listened to Chris' questions. "All lycant transform on the full moon," she answered. "Or at least all the lycants I have heard off. It is also when we are the most powerful. But at the same time it is also when it is the hardest to control the more animalistic nature of the lycant form. That is part of the reason why I emphize how important it is to control your powers."

She then decided to transform, she figured it might make Tracyn a little more comfortable chatting with an elf instead of a tiger. She smiled at him.

"So enough of the serious chat, tell me a bit about yourself," she said.

The werewolf looked between the two weretigers and once again couldn’t help but feel slightly out of place. Yes, he was no longer in a werewolf form, and Chris wasn’t even in one to begin with other than his tail, although Fara’re was still quite convincing. Wait, well then she changed. It did help comfort him and he smiled again, she was no less beautiful as an elf, ironic though that he had even thought of her as that in a tiger-like form. Funny how that long tradition of dogs and cats hating each other were so often proven false.

With his focus regained slightly he managed a quick and easy healing to the tense neck muscles and gave a sigh of relief as the frustration was lifted. With that taken care of he rummaged back through his backpack and retrieved his shirt. “I’ve learned that taking it off before hand is a lot better than changing back with a shredded one. You’re lucky that it’s not the same case for you.” He laughed slightly and grinned before floundering with the shirt to get it on. After having successfully slid it on he adjusted it and patted himself down. His foot tapped slightly when his hand moved along his belly, oh how he loved belly rubs. If asked he’d just blame it on the fact that he was a werewolf, which explained the foot tapping. It also explained his equal love for getting his head scratched no mater which form he was in.
