Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Karula sat on a crate and looked over the people passing by. He was in the long shadows as the sun was going down. He had already removed all of his excess clothing and only in his shirt and pants. He looked with blood red eyes over the area. People heading to the Inn and homes. He wanted to go back home now, he wasn't allowed to though. He sat with his left leg dangling off to the ground, one bent more at the knee and his foot on the edge of the crate facing the street some more. Right arm on his knee by the elbow and his forarm bent inwards, his back was being lent back against a wall, the window to a house was right next to him, he expected the light to be turned off soon.

It was going to be a chilly night, not that he cared. He just wanted to have some company on this night. His left arm found it's way to picking up his staff and he took hold of it in both hands. He wanted to see her again, it couldn't have been that long. The girl's face crossed his mind, his promise, the events. He remembered everything clearly.

He ran one of his hands along the staff as he inspected it from boredom. He would be expecting some party goers coming from some bar soon enough and didn't want to be in their way if they wanted to pick a fight, he would just get beaten up again if he tried to. He looked up to the rising moon, his eyes not blinking as he focused on it. The sun had almost set.

Ana was walking down the road, fingering the sleeves of her dress. Her long black hair was pulled back, but strands of hair fell around her face, in front of her dark eyes that stared straight ahead, not seeming to notice anything, she seemed so oblivious, and because of this state, she ran into someone, making that person drop what the person had been holding, but instead of helping to pick it up, she continued along the road, til she suddenly stopped, seeming to freeze in place. She raised a small hand to her forehead, closing her eyes for a couple minutes. She heard people walking around her, going home, going to the tavern, to a friends house even, maybe.

She then shook her head, opening her eyes, and seemed to finally focus on her surroundings. She looked around her, turning in a circle. Kellen. She had been here once before, where she had met some odd people then, and it had been a night like this, but today she could actually see the moon. She glanced at it, before starting to walk again, walking no where in particular.

There was little to do, and it was boring, it kept nagging at her, but she didn't want to get into any trouble today and since she didn't have Ahi with her, she felt nervous, afraid, lonely. She didn't understand why she decided to leave her snake at the camp alone, maybe she just didn't want to have others try to take her things, when she had nothing, except a sleeping pallet and a small dagger.

She walked to a building where she leaned against the wall, and pulled out a piece of quarts, running her fingers along the clear rock. She had heard once that if you held a quarts, and you tried hard to remember something, it helped. She held it, but she remembered nothing. She sighed, as she stuffed it back into a pocket, looking up again, for something fun to do.

Karula turned his staff and put one end of it into the ground. He held it in his left hand as he shifted in his seat. He pulled both of his legs up so they were like the left one, though further inward. He rested both of his arms on his knees, folded and gripping onto each other. He sighed as he let his staff lean against the wall. It accured to him the last time he had a drink, not many people were generous to him about it. He asked a few people today who looked at him weirdly and walked away, some insulted him.

Seeing a girl, looked around his age. He thought about asking her as well, why not? Jumping down from the crate, both of his feet landed on the ground and he looked around like it wasn't her sight that made him get up. He instictively brushed his shirt off with his hands. He smiled and turned to her, fangs showing in his mouth to anyone smart that he wasn't fully alive anymore.

Karula watched her come and lean against a wall. He put his hands in his pockets and walked over to her. He gave a curtious smile with his fangs showing to her. "Excuse me Ma'am, but I'd like to ask if you could donate some of your blood to a hungry bloodsucker? No biting involved." He said like a gentlemen, it wasn't unusualy for him to try this first, being polite was normal when he had to, mostly with Females. Knowing how Madalyn was.

Ana looked up and at the boy who was walking towards her, her eyes showing no emotion as she watched him approach. When he spoke, she raised a brow, a smile flitting over his face as she looked at his fangs. A vampire. How many vampires had she met in her short years? One or two, she couldn't remember well. She wondered how he could take blood without biting though, and why he asked instead of just taking it, to her, he already didn't seem like a ordinary vampire.

"How do you plan on taking blood when you won't bite?" She asked her voice soft as she spoke. She wound her finger around a lock of hair as she continued to watch him in silence for many moments.

"A vampire normally never asks for blood. Why do you?" Her curiosity pulled at her, and she would never be satisfied til she knew why, that was always a problem with her, she had always been curious, just like she always told the truth, even if the situation wasn't the greatest, curiosity and truth always came before anything else.

Karula didn't hear a direct no or awkward silence. Well, not like he could hear silence anyways. Though most gave him a direct no or insult him. Though what she said did almost seem like an insult, he paid no mind to it. He stood, with his hands in his pockets, elbows bent a little bit. He held a curtious smile, his head tilted slightly as he looked at her, head to toe just inspecting her.

"How do normal Humans draw blood from people? Just a small cut and let the blood flow into a bowl or something for me, unless you want me to bite." He said leaning forward a bit and looked at her more closely. He was finding a small interest in this girl, not many people bothered asking that question. Though it had an obvious answer, he liked curious people, reminded them of himself. Though she was maybe a little bit younger than him.

Then she went onto a touchy subject, his hands fell out of his pockets and arms dangled. He looked down with a flinch at trying to answer. "That's sort of personal..." He said holding himself up against the wall to his right. He gave her a glare of annoyance though let it fade back to being polite with his look. "Though, if you want me to take your blood by force... I will." He said lying and jokingly. He wouldn't do that even if he was going to die. He wasn't going to break his promise.

"How do normal Humans draw blood from people? Just a small cut and let the blood flow into a bowl or something for me, unless you want me to bite."

She stayed silent a moment, considering this, but she already knew her answer, she always liked doing something odd, risk taking even. She wouldn't even mind if he bit her, even if it killed her. she ran a finger along her bare arm. "I don't mind." She answered, though, she didn't have a bowl or jar to put the blood in.

When he said it was personal to her question, she nearly pouted, and it would nag her forever, she considered saying something to that, but couldn't find anything to say even when she so many times did. Even when he joked about biting her, she just looked at him, a face to show that she wouldn't even mind or care.

"So, got a jar or something to put blood in? I don't exactly have anything with me except a rock." She said, smiling again. She rested her hands on her hips again as she watched the vampire, still interested about him, and she wondered briefly how old he was, which led to her thinking how old was the oldest vampire in the world was, but she didn't think she'd ever get a answer to that, but it was interesting to think about.

Karula was joyed when she said she didn't mind. He stood up straight and went into his pocket looking for something. He got a grip on it and fiddled with it in his pocket and looked at her with glee in his eyes. He was happy to see someone that was nice enough to give their blood to him, most were freaked out. He only wondered what her blood tasted like, he wasn't going to rush it ether. He was going to be patient with her, like everyone else.

He let his hunger show in his eyes very planly though. People that knew him would understand the look on his face, it almost matched the ones of vampires that were about t about to calm a victum. Karula didn't have victums or suckers, well not normally. He just asked people and if they turned him down he left them alone, unless he forgot about them and asked again.

When he asked her question, he wondered about how to cut her, if she had a weapon or anything. He pulled out the small vial that seemed to be blood stained, though he cleaned it out very often. "Yes, do you miss have anything to cut your skin with, or no?" He asked nicely and thought of his way to get blood out of people, it wasn't as effective as a blade though it worked quite well. He looked at his left index finger as he held it up in front of his face before lowering his own arm. "May I also get your name, Miss? You can call me Karula if you care at all."

She watched him, looking at the hunger that was plan in his eyes, and she knew others would be scared, and run and hide, but to her it just intrigued her more, made her more curious. She then reached to her hidden dagger when he asked if she had something to cut herself with. She pulled her simple looking dagger out, and pulled the sleeve up over her forearm, and tapped the flat side of the blade against her skin, feeling the coolness of the silver blade. "I do. And its better to use then a fingernail. Less germs." She said, and seemed to stare off into space a moment or two, before looking back up at Karula when he introduced himself.

"I'm Ana. Nice to meet you..." She said, and smiled that somehow reached her eyes. She then handed him the dagger. She knew she could cut herself if she wanted too, but she didn't want to today, the thought of hurting herself on this nice day made her hand shake slightly.

"Take as much as you want, just... not enough to kill me, of course." Though, how would she even stop him if he tried? He could forcefully take her blood and she wouldn't be able to do anything, someone could try to kill her and she'd be helpless, but she never thought much on that, it didn't exactly bother her.

Karula waited patiently as the girl took out a dagger and held it to her bare him. He didn't make any jump or movements to hurry up the process of taking the girl's blood. He wanted it though, he was hungry and was curious at how her blood tasted. Might be better or worse than normal, it didn't matter. As long as he could live off of it. She must have noticed him looking at his finger, he wasn't planning on using his finger nail but magic to draw some blood from her arm. Though as long as the blade was clean, it'd help. Though she was giving a vampire her blood and she was worried about germs? There was only one true infection he had in his body that could effect her life drasticly.

"Well Ana. I'm very grateful for this. I got something for you after this all too." Karula stated moving closer to her, generousity in his voice. What he had for her, it wasn't something material though she might make use of it. Taking the blade from the girl he looked at her arm. "This might hurt a little or quite a bit." He said to her and grabbed her arm tightly so she wouldn't flinch from the pain. Not tight enough to hurt her though. He pushed the blade into her flesh as easily as he could and making a cut deep enough to have blood flow quickly.

Tilting Ana's arm, he let go and held the vial pressed against her skin. The blood would flow into the vial quickly enough and he licked the blood off of the dagger. It tasted quite exotic, not bad but maybe a lot better. The Vampire whispered. "This isn't Human blood..."

Ana looked at Karula curiously a moment when he said he had something for her after this, and she wondered momentarily what it was, but most likely some money, she wouldn't object to that though, she was always a tad low, and needed something to get food with, but her thoughts strayed from those thoughts quickly as he took her arm, and pressed the blade against her skin and cut it. Ana didn't even flinch a little when her skin was broken.

She watched as her blood was put in the vial, seeing the red liquid made her feel odd, it didn't disturb her, she just didn't like it so she looked away and at the sky instead.

"This isn't Human blood..."

Though he had said it quietly, she still had managed to hear it. She looked at Karula, her eyes slightly wide. Of course it was human blood. She was a human. How could it not be human blood. When he was done taking some of her blood, she tore a piece of her dress off, and tied it around the cut. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing managed to come out, her mouth seemed dry, but she didn't know why. She was still wondering about what he had said.

Karula had finished draining the blood from Ana and had drank a little bit of it to ease over his hunger. He would wait a moment and tell her a bit of what he had to offer for her. "Well, you did something nice for me... I'll do something nice for you back. Just ask for it as long as it isn't psychoticly crazy." He said looking at her with a grin and noticed she was a bit taken back by something he said a moment ago. Still, it seemed to pass. He wouldn't bring up the fact that she wasn't Human, did she hear him say that? Maybe, he didn't know.

Karula stood there inspecting her quickly, he wondered if she would use his offer at all and if she did how would she use it. She did want to know why he asked for blood instead of tricking attacking, and stalking people for it. Would he tell her that, if she asked? He could make it short if she did ask. Maybe... though she might ask about other things too. He didn't know what Ana could ask for if she asked for anything.

"So, besides that. Do you want me to leave now or rather I stay around a bit? Well... I'm only asking because some people don't like to have me around too much and give me their blood and then ask me to beat it... yeah..." He said looking up at the sky. Would she be different? Not everybody did, and she seemed like an odd one.
