| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Xenith had traveled for many days and nights alone. Battered and bruised from falling and walking into things, she sat near the lake. The wind was playing with her black hair, while the sun danced along the blue tints. She enjoyed the smell of the woodlands around her that came with the wind. She could hear the sounds of animals running in play, a squirel jumping from the tree limbs. Eveything was at peace around her. Inside he mind was in turmoil. She didnt know what to consider herself. What am I? Am I a runaway for leaving my mother and what would be so close to servatude? I dont know why anyone would want to be in that station. That life is so difficult and demeaning. I know my family wasnt in a high station but for my mother to treat me as such. How could she live with herself? Am I a rouge? I am doing nothing more than roaming. I dont know what I am looking for. I dont even know where I will go from day to day. I feel adrift in the world, like a leaf that never touches the ground. If only I had some direction, some where to go, someone to go to... She sat crosslegged listening to the wild, felling the wind. She tried to let the wind calm her. But to no avail. She sighed and stood. To any passerby it would appear to them that she was looking across the crystal water. In truth she saw nothing, only the black void she always saw. A nothingness so deep it would swallow her whole if she let it. |

Chris had been by the lake most of the day training his climbing skills....he wanted to be as good as Fara're so that she would be proud of him. But after a while he took a break and just watched the lake while sitting in a comfortable tree. One of the great once really! He heard the woman as she arrived to the lake and sat down only a few meters away from his tree. Chris watched her with curious eyes, but he did not move. The young weretiger did not understan what she talked abou but he felt sorry for her since she looked so sad....this was a happy place and people should be happy here. Chris slowly began to climb down from the tree....but on the way he slipped and fell with a slightly surprised growl, he landed close to the stranger and looked up at her from the ground. Chris blushed slightly but smiled at the lady. "Hmmm...eh...hello" He said with an unsure tune in his voice. Like alway when he was unsure or shy his tail lowered itself and slowly moved from side to side. |

Nimohtar is once again on his random strolls. He seems to have come across a lake which he have never seen before. He thought he saw someone familiar from a distance so he quickly changed into his elven form. When he came into a position where he could easily see the two he recognized one as Chris a young boy he met in a cave when he was hungry. Nimohtar abruptly announces his presence and says "Hello Chris." The Nimohtar looks around as if looking for someone. He did not know why, but he felt very uneasy when Fara're was around. Then he turns back to Chris and says "I see you are not with Fara're right now. Also who might this young lady be?" Nimohtar looks around and close by he sees a nice sturdy looking tree where he can rest his back against. He proceed towards the tree and leans on it while looking at the young boy and the young woman. |

The noise of something heavy falling to the ground spun her around. By the sound it had fallen from a hight so she assumed it was from one of the many trees around the lake. Not knowing if it was a harmless animal or something more dangrerous, she instinctivly held her stave and stood in a fighting stance. "Hmmm...eh...hello" The voice that spoke was not the clearest and the tone was unsure of itself. She didnt know what species this was but knew from the voice that it was male. Quite suddenly she heard some one coming toward them from yet another direction. Not knowing if the fallen male was still in the same spot or not, she backed up untill her unsoden feet were in the water, barely getting wet. With something at her back she felt a little more comfortable but still felt surrounded. "Hello Chris." "I see you are not with Fara're right now. Also who might this young lady be?" This man sounded like he was elven but yet not. So confused was she that she inadvertantly steped back more. Now she was over her ankels in the water. Knowing she couldnt show fear to these two males but not wanting to let her gaurd down she stayed put in her stance and spoke crisply and cleanly. My name is Xenith. Thanks to you I know the man who fell out of the trees name. Would you be as so kind as to tell me yours? |

Chris looked at the woman in a weird way.....she acted as if she did not see him at all. But he did not have much more time to think of this when he heard a familiar voice and looked that way. He smiled brightly and waved at the older weretiger. "Hello Nimohtar" he said with a happy tune in his voice. "No I`m not with Fara´re right now, hey I am 14 years old. Can take care of myself a few hours without her he grinned slightly as he said this. Then his eyes turned towards the lady again as she said her name......might be good not to sit on the ground like this. The boy slowly got to his feet and brushed some dust of his clothes, then his gaze moved to the woman again and he tilted his head a little to the side. He opened his mouth to say something....but he closed it quickly again and placed one hand in his cheek. She seemed rather tense....and it was clear she did not see anything...she was blind alright. "Oh I am sorry if I surprised you miss Xenith" he said. "I mean I did not know that you would not see me coming....sorry. I just thought you looked so lonely and so I thought I would....nevermind. But it is nice of you to call me a man.....most people say boy....but I am 14..." of course he had not wanted to scare the lady....no not at all, he sounded a little proud as he said the last part. |

Nimohtar quickly said "Sorry Chris. It is just that i am uneasy around Fara're. I don't know how to react around her. Also if she is the person when we first met she had a great change in personality. I'm more used to people who love to fight or people who love to make friends. However she at first seemed to love to fight and in a short time loved to make friends." After speaking to Chris he then turned his attention to Xenith. He then asked "Are we making you feel uncomfortable in any way? It seems you want to keep a good distance from us. I could either go to my elven form or leave which ever you prefer. I do not wish to attack anyone who does not provoke me into attacking." Then Nimohtar goes to the closest tree and puts his back against the tree while he was sitting down. He was patiently waiting for Xenith to respond. |

Xenith slowly lowered her stave. The wind blew, moving her hair from her face showing her scars in startling clarity. The young one, chris, was very observant in noting that she was blind. For most people, it took them longer to figure it out. Most people just thought that she was avoiding eye contact. She was still a little uneasy but she moved out of the water to be closer to the two males. She heard chris brushing dirt of himself. She smiled. Its ok chris. Yes i was startled but most of my movements and responses are trained responses. As you can tell from the scaring on my face I had a ruff time at it in the begining. As they say, old habits die hard. Even more so when your in a new place. So im sorry. She heard Nimohtar move and sit. Not wanting to offend them she moved slightly closer the them. It was only a few feet from the water but the sand was dry and warmed from the sun. She sat and made herself comfortable. As she sat something Nimohtar said struck her as odd. You said Nimohtar you can go to your elven form... what do you mean by that? Are you not elven now? |

"No I'm currently in my weretiger form. I find it more comfortable to travel in as it seems to scare off more of the weaker individuals who would otherwise be causing trouble. Also I know how some reactions are hard to break from what my parents had taught me." Nimohtar states this in a calm fashion. Nimohtar did feel a little uneasy around the stave due to his past experience. He did his best to hide any discomfort he had after seeing the stave he had for some reason missed when talking before. Nimohtar believed this woman must have had heightened senses by the fact how she could travel without sight. He decided not to make too many movements because he was not looking for a fight and he was taught not to take advantage of other people misfortune. |

Chris smiled at Nimohtar. "Well she is always nice to me" he said, but then he looked down in the grass. "Well she was mad at me once....but that was because I did not do as she had said to stay away from the spiderhount forest. But I deserved it that time." he smiled slightly and scrated himself in the hair as he looked at Nimohtar. "But I think she likes you actually, I know I like you Nimohtar" Chris then looked at the woman and he smiled slightly. He followed her with his eyes as she walked closer and sat down...the boy walked closer and sat down so that he was closer to her. "Yea you see both me and Nimohtar are weretigers. But Nimohtar can alter himself into his tiger form....I can not do that yet....so I only have a tail so far" he explained calmly to the woman...... "" |

Nimohtar wanted to phrase his words carefully. He did not exactly know how to explain to Chris what he thought of Fara're because he was confused on what she was thinking or why she acted the way she did around him. Nimohtar then said "You seem to be a friendly kid. I believe I could get along just fine with you. However I don't know about Fara're. I don't know what she is thinking half the time and I have a strange suspicion she knows a great deal of magic. Due to my past experience I don't really like magic too much and I would wish you do not ask too much questions about it." Then Nimohtar faced Xenith and said "I am currently in my weretiger form. It allows me to travel so I don't always have to deal with some weakling that would otherwise try to steal from me. Also most were hunters would find difficulty in this forest because there are lots of were creature living here and most would probably ban together to get rid of the hunters." Nimohtar had made it a habit never to ask about others past because he never wanted to talk about his. So he was not going to ask Xenith of her past and how she came to this forest. Currently Nimohtar seemed to be in a very relaxed position. |

Andras was out strolling as he did quite often, admiring the beauty of nature and the ebb and flow of life and energy surrounding him. He noticed Nimhotar and a young were tiger talking to a woman by the lake. In spite of the fact that they had fought side by side before Nimhotar was still uneasy around the wizard and his magic so Andras put his wand into its pocket in his sleeve and dispelled all of the magic and enchantments on himself. Stepping toward the group he gestures in greeting. "Spending as much time in this forest as I have I almost know what it feels like to be a were anywhere else, I can feel a little out of place since everyone I meet is either a were or an elf from the village. Of course you tend to be freindlier to me than the world is to you ... I'm Andras by the way, pleasure to meet you" he says gesturing to the young were then the woman. "Lovely day for a stroll isn't it Nimhotar?" |

((I hope you guys don't mind me jumping in. :])) Sunlight danced off of the tranquil lake, a sheer image of the perfection of nature. Feet hanging down into the clear water, Linwood allowed himself to relax, forget about all of his troubles, at least for a moment. A slight breeze blew through his long white hair and across his pale skin, making his clothing sway ever so slightly. His frail form was clear, even after being covered with layers of clothes, clearly presenting his heritage to anyone who passed by him. The man let out a small sigh, crisp blue eyes taking in every aspect of the landscape surrounding him. Sitting there, simply admiring the land around him, made him question why he was going to venture into large cities in the first place. Surely, nowhere on the planet could anyone find a more beautiful view than this. It was simply impossible. The branches of the trees swaying in perfect rhythm with the wind, the sweet bird songs that filled the air, the way that the rays of sunshine illuminated the entire area, reflecting off of the water with the beauty only a god could create; it all came together in perfect harmony here. Allowing a flicker of a smile to dance across his face, Linwood brushed back some of his pure white locks, pausing only when small hints of voices drifted to his ears. Pulling his feet from the lake, sending ripples across its surface, the moon elf tread softly around the lake's perimeter, his bare weet feet leaving ever so small marks on the ground. As he walked, the voices grew louder, Linwood was able to distinguish four separate voices; three male and one female, if his ears could be believed. At last they came into view as he brushed aside a relatively flimsy tree branch. In an instant he came to a stop, still half hidden behind the foliage surrounding the lake. |
