| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The air in Kellen was brisk as the sun was slowly falling below the horizon. Darkness was settling over the small village, and Ana watched it. She was just outside of the village, sitting on the flat ground black eyes watching the colors of the sky turn black as she ran a small hand through her straight black hair that fell about her pale face. Her knees were brought up, her other arm wrapped around them loosely. She started whispering words under her breath, it sounded like words to a song, but one couldn't be sure. When the sun fully went down, her eyes widened, and she clenched at her head, and whimpering sounds slipped from her, then she closed her eyes tight. "Dark... Its too dark. Make it go away." She muttered. She didn't know for sure whether she liked the dark, or feared it, she was unsure. It seemed intimidating at most times, but sometimes it looked beautiful, she couldn't make up her mind though. Her eyes fluttered open, and she looked up at the dark sky, thinking she saw a star but it turned out to be nothing but empty sky filled with clouds, the moon was barely seen. She stood up, letting her arms fall to her side, as she then started heading towards the village again, but hesitated when she saw the dark shadows that the buildings had, they stretched over the ground. She felt her pet snake slither about her neck, which oddly calmed her, to know he was there, so she continued to walk past the buildings, but stopped immediately when she thought she heard something. |

Jacoby was always one to be found wandering the sites of new places he had never been. He wasn't an extremely curious boy, just really, really bored. And when he was bored, he wandered. Today, his boredom was caused by the fact that nothing was going on. He groaned as he dragged himself along the streets of Kellen; it wasn't as interesting as he had hoped. The sun was falling fast, Jacoby was glad about that. Everything was better when darkness fell, for that was when all the creatures of the night appeared. And they were entertaining. The vampire-elf found himself turning towards the borders of the village - he had no idea Kellen was so small. Just as the sun began its descent, the final colors of the sky swirling together before turning completely black, Jacoby caught a glimpse of a figure huddled on teh ground not too far from where he stood. Intrigued by the figure of what appeared to be female, Jacoby slowly made his way in her direction. He could hear light whimpering coming from the girl, as well as something about it being 'too dark'. So, she was not fond of the dark? Even more interesting. The vampire-elf watched as the girl rose form her huddled position to standing, stared up at the black sky and then headed back towards the village. Jacoby continued to follow, as quiet as a mouse and not too far behind. Why he simply didn't just go right up to her was beyond him, perhaps it had something to do with his boredom, so he felt like stalking. Apparently the darkness made the girl paranoid or something, because soon after she began her trip back to Kellen, she froze. Had she heard him? Impossible. Jacoby waited in silence a moment, before getting bored. Looked like his game ended quickly. With a shrug, he quickly glided over to the girl, as if appearing out of nowhere, blending in almost perfectly in the shadows, except for his pale complexion. He spoke calmly, as though he'd been standing beside her the entire time. "Did you hear something?" |

Andras was weary from his travels over the Gwilikith Mountain range. The young wizards tired bones were looking forward to sleeping in a real bed tonight. As he looked towards the village he noticed a strange sight, a man stalking an oblivious little girl. He didn't sense malicious intent from the man but was curious as to what was going on so he quickened his pace to catch up with them. When the intriguing pair stopped Andras came close enough to distinguish the man's elven features. "You might have heard me, though I'd be very impressed if your senses are keen enough that these robes betrayed my presence." Andras made a nod of greeting to the pair. |
