| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"God damn it, you stupid fairy, where in the nine hells are you leading me?" Xion swatted at the fairy who proceeded to stick her tongue out at him and fly off leaving Xion to follow her at his own whim. The fairy was given to him as a guide to Kellen where he was to meet up with a potential job opportunity. Unfortunately the fairy had gotten him lost in this bloody swamp, he hated fairies, he hated swamps, and most of all he hated rats, especially those big ugly dire rats. Ugggggggh just thinking about them made him want to hurl. It was worse on the adjacent continent where he had to walk through a fire swamp, you know, one of those swamps where there were geysers of flame that could ignite the methane in the air and cause everything to go boom. "Blasted creature, lead me in the right direction instead of deeper into this no doubt rat infested cesspool of a habitat for creatures I'd rather not meet!" he grabbed the fairy and placed her on his shoulder. "You, stay there, and behave, your directions have served to do nothing but cause me to further lose myself in this god forsaken hell hole" he grumbled and trudged onward. |

Vernon's latest victim swung beneath the branch he laid on. Bound elf was hung upside down over the marsh's waters, teasing the aquatic creatures below. He was still alive, barely, though not conscious at present. Vernon sampled the meat of a troll as he idly waited on his victim to regain consciousness, after all it was always more fun play with the victims before they dies, it even seemed to make the meat taste better. Vernon's snack time was disturbed when bats brought word of intruders. Intruders that were headed this way no less. Animals weren't as descriptive as his own sense so Vernon could only tell that one was a winged humaniod and the other was a tiny winged humaniod. The larger creature could be any number of things, though the later was likely a fairy or pixie of some sort. The tiny fey were so easy to manipulate. Getting them to exact his will was quite as simple as overrunning their homes with rats and other oversized rodents, too big for them to handle on their own. The fey was likely following orders in getting another poor soul lost in his marsh. Perhaps he would let the fey live for it's obedience, though he had not yet decided how to play with the other intruder. Vernon could better identify the creatures as they approached. The the larger humaniod was half demon, and the fey was indeed a fairy. He could even hear the half-fiends words as the creature neared. Death seemed a fair gift to give the fellow or perhaps his words should cost him his tongue. He didn't feel like responding himself and let the marsh do so instead. He would let the Marsh berate the demon before he came close enough to see and be seen and then he would deal with the creature himself. An eerie unfelt wind rustled through the trees and plants. "Insolence! Brood of an ugly imp, you would do well to amend your words least you wish to have the Master of the marsh show you what a hell hole really is," Boomed the mighty oaks around the half-fiend. "Clearly this one has come to welcome death's embrace," added a small patch of flowers that seemed to to notice it was the fairy's fault. "You'll never leave this marsh with that attitude, well not alive anyways," called out more creaking trees before the entire forest seemed alive with the sadistic laughter of plantlife. |
