| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The village had been packed on such a night and just after sun down was it that he had found himself stuck in a mirage of people. Tables lined up in rows as merchants yelled about sales every which way. People that lived in the village and travels to the Green Gryphon went crazy to get items on sale. Riven lightly chuckled as he moved about the crowd as he short and muscular body pushed the legs of the taller humans out of the way. Making his way to the center town fountain he sat on it and spoke, "Aye, you bloody people watch what ye' doing!" Riven lifting his right arm waved his hand through his ruffled beard as he felt his right side of his ribs. He had been kicked a dozen times when squirming through the crowd. "Bloody fools!" Riven paused as his drow voice sank deep to his throat."Learn some respect, sheesh." Riven sat calmly after yelling at the ridiculous crowd of people as he fixed his tarnished armor resting about his chest. Looking to his rusted plated boots he clanked them against the stone fountain as a loud metal clank rang in his ears. His eyes glinting with a awkward lighting like static. Then standing up he saw what he had come for a nice brewed ale. Riven walking towards the inn, suddenly turned his frown to a light smile as he made his way to the door... |

The small village was a completely new place to her. She had yet to decide if she liked it or not though. The entire place seemed rather... rough and tumble? Either way, it was much nicer in the tavern. How she managed to get here was a feat though. She could have sworn she had drifted to sleep in the sleeping remains of her once home town. She came to wake this morning in an Inn in the village called Kellen. A note had been left with the bartender. Ivory had received it just moments ago. She stood by the bar reading it. She read it again. Then again. She wasn't sure what to make of it in all truth. There, scrawled in small but perfected print, was the words: 'This is a city of the dead Ivory. Please seek your life among the living unless you wish to join them. I have left you in The Green Gryphon, an Inn in Kellen Village. There is coin for a few nights. I suggest you seek out a friend and let the dead rest where they are. ~AD' Ivory was not sure what to make of it. Was this a threat? Maybe it had been a favor? Had she been rejected or was she being protected from something? And how had the girl moved her here over night without her knowing it? The confused Oread sat down at the bar and the bartender asked, "Would you like something to drink." "Nothing strong." Ivory murmured. The bar tendered went to get her something as she puzzled at the note and the extra gold she wasn't sure she really needed. |

Riven making it to the door of the Green Gryphon gave a light sigh. He pushed the door open as he let the cold wind rush into the warm fireplace lit room. Riven was not tall nor very intimidating although he was tough and had a good head on his shoulders. When he wasn't drunk of course. Riven looked around as a few people mumbled under their breathe about his height and what he was. Riven pushing a tall man out of the way spoke, "Excuse me, Sir." Riven's accent as a Dwarf would come and go at will. Riven walking to the bar climbed onto the stool as he slammed his fist down on the counter as he looked to the Oread next to him. Her delicate hair seemed to hide her cheek as Riven looked over her and waved over the bartender. "I'll take the best ale you got." Riven looking to the Oread once more spoke as the bartender poured his ale into a large mug. Riven gave the bartender a light smile as he lifted his drink and took a nice sip. The warm carbonated fuzz from the pour reached his cold throat from the winter chill outside. Riven setting the mug on the counter looked to the girl beside him she seemed lost and she was of a Oread, that much was sure. Riven looking at her eventually spoke, "Aye, Something wrong ma'am." Riven spoke with kindness as his grumpy mood went away due to the good rich ale.. |
