Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Andras
No Avatar

Andras quickly backed away from the expanding fireball but there was enough of his own energy within that when the draconian cast it the wizard could hold the spell focused and on target so that the full force was released directly upon the target. The wizard collapses onto the ground from the strain.

Chilled by the demonic mercenaries parting speech but relieved that the fight appeared to be over Andras lays back in the grass too tired to stand. He felt more drained of his magic than any time in his life. Gathering his thoughts and sitting up he turns to the tigress and asks "What... was that ... about?"

With the demon now gone Fara're landed back on the ground. She stromed over to where Seregon was. The angry weretiger shoved Kyzarin aside as she moved to the wolf. She grabbed by the shoulders and lifted him up, golden eyes glared at him.

"Okay....I want some answers and I want them now!" she said. "Who in the nine hells was that? Why was he hunting us? And why did you give us no warning about this? They had silvered weapons you fool! I would have liked to have known what I was getting into before I decided to help you instead of kicking you out of Norwood!"

Her ears were flat against her skull and her fur was stading on end. If looks could kill, hers most definetly would. Why did this mutt have to be such an idiot? She wished more werewolves could be like Tracyn or Tamia. That they all had a brain like those two.

Her gripped tightened on Seregon. It was clear she was not going to let go until he answered her. What she would do after that...remained unknown.

Nimohtar was very confused and tired. He suddenly got dragged into a fight he had no idea what was supposed to happen. Suddenly people just started to fight and for unknown reasons to him. He wanted answers and he wanted them now.

"CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT IN THE NINE HELLS IS GOING ON NOW!!" He was clearly angry and wanted answers. He had no idea what was going on and he had no idea who most of the people here were. He decided to put away his sword now that the battle was answer, but he was being very belligerent. He wanted answers and at this time he did not care who gave him the answer.

Nimohtar then went to the closest person to him that did not seem to be preoccupied. He looked as menacing as possible and demanded "Answer the question that I have been asking for quite some time now that none of us are too busy."

In his half dazed state he managed to get out the words "Dindnnn't knowowow lots of rum m m mors. Te ones you don't list t te ten toooo. Whatever you do don't........" His vision dimmed as the world went dark, he accepted it this time. They were safe for the moment. His body relaxed. The item he had retrieved from the lake fell out. It was an very old cylindar with ornate elvish runes and decorations. It seemed to be made of bronze, but was clearly enchante from a glow surrounding it especialy near the rounded top that looked like it could be twisted off. Those who knew elvish could recoginize a few runes, but it was clearly old and some of them were hard to make out. It was clear that the elements were written and the word for secret, lost, treasure and great danager.

After hearing the same question yet again Kaess went up to and slaped Nimohtar upside the head. "Jeez get some battle sense, we barely know more than you do and it would have been better if you had been acting instead of running around asking questions that can't be answered. Focus on the battle when a fight is going on. To satisfy you and inform the others who helped it out." Now talking to the rest of the group "I shall put it simply me and Far ...., ro, so no that isn't the name, her of there." points to Far're "were hired to go help on a ... well find some things with Séregon over there. He went into the lake to retrive something. Then we just got attacked by those assasins or whatever they are" gestures to the bodies "and the big guy who just teleported away. There you happy?"

Moves over to Far're looking curiously at the cylindar. "Interesting ..... You know it would have been better to heal him before shaking him so much. The guy did hit a tree after all. Might have gotten a more coherent answer from him. Well why don't you let him down and I and any one who wants to help can heal this guy up, at least so we get more answers. Ok?"

Kaess starts a casting a healing spell. It probably wouldn't wake up Séregon, but at least he would more understandable next time they spoke.

Nireza was walking along a nearby path when she heard what sounded like combat from within the forest. She decided to go check it out. She walked through the forest toward the source of the noise.

She could just make out some of the people and creatures near the lake when a powerful blast flattened some nearby brush and knocked Nireza off her feet. She rolled backwards and was quickly back on her feet. She saw the man disappear and then heard Nimohtar asking what was going on. She asked no one in particular, "What is going on here? I heard the commotion from the path and that's a bit of a walk from here. I show up, only to get blasted back by a massive fireball. I would like to know what's been going on here." Nireza was getting angry. She pulled a wand out of her belt, ready to cast.

EDIT: wasn't expecting both of you to post while I was writing my reply, had to modify dialogue.

Kyzarin found himself in the way of an angry weretiger and was shoved aside. He didn't exactly appreciate this, but with what had just happened it was no surprise to him that someone would be angry. He watched as the she grabbed the werewolf and realized that Seregon was somehow being blamed for this mess. He walked over to Kaess and looked at the cylinder and the strange markings on it. He had no idea what they meant and decided that he would be better off elsewhere.

He then noticed Nireza, who had just arrived. He walked over to the elf and filled her in on what had been going on, repeating Kaess for what he hadn't seen. He then said to her, "You can put that wand away. There's nothing more to fight at the moment. I don't think any of us knows why we were attacked, besides the possibility of treasure in this lake."

Fara're looked at Nimohtar with her fierce and angry golden eyes. "Shut your trap for a few seconds and maybe we could get some anwers!" she yelled. "Honestly did you expect any of us to be able to explain stuff during a fight? And are you too blind to see that none of us know what the hell is going on either!"
Fara're let out an annoyed sigh as Seregon fainted. Stupid wolf. She dragged him over to the lake and plunged his head into the cold water. She hope that this would help wake him back up. She waited a second or two before pulling his head back out of the water.

"You awake yet you fool?" she asked.

If he did not wake up soon she would plung his head into the water again. She wanted her answers and she wanted them now. And this wolf would be the one to answer them. She was considering just throwing him into the lake and walking away. He really was more of a pain that any kind of help.

She gave his face a few slaps as well to see if that would help jar him awake. She was not gentle about the slaps either.

Nimohtar was clearly annoyed. Especially after being hit on the back of the head. He then walks over to the person who hit him and slapped him on the arm. Then Nimohtar said "I thought you had a better idea of what was going on because it seemed you were looking for something. I just arrived and asked what was going on and then I get thrown into a battle. After all that happened aren't I entitled to a few answers." Nimohtar says all this at it is clear he is highly agitated and annoyed.

When he saw Fara're torture the one man he chuckled a little. He thought to himself what he got himself into. He was currently wishing he never came in and helped, since now he was helping mages the type of adventurers he disliked the most. This experience by far was the weirdest moment in his life.

After hearing Kyzarin words he then stated "All this was for some treasure? There must be one hell of a treasure for these people to guard it so fiercely." Some of the events that now happened made a little more sense to Nimohtar now. He was now wondering with these new words how he should proceed with this new group.

Andras

The cylinder escaping from Seregon's pack caught Andras's eye. It obviously had magical properties, and he felt compelled to investigate. "Does anyone here know old elven rune script? I'm not an expert and some of these are difficult to make out but I clearly recognize this one," *points to "Great Danger"* "since recognizing it is one of the most basic safety tips my master taught me about artifacts." The wizard wondered why a band of demonic soldiers would be so interested in an apparently elven artifact, but he decided that learning what it was first might prove more fruitful than puzzling over why anyone would want it.

Kaess throughly tired again pleaded with Far're. "You know I really don't think that will wake him up and if you need him alive I sugest rest especialy since I think that is blood dripping from the back of his head." As he pointed this out it was true that the were-wolf seemed to have a head wound that was either just opened or mabey repopened by the dunk in the lake.

Kaess moved over and removed Séregon from Far're's clutches the best he could and laid the were-wolf down. "Now if you don't mind lets heal him and then we can wake him up and get answers and if you don't want to reasonable about it you will have to deal with me. I won't stand for another creature to be hurt when he is already down. Also lets not mess with that thing" Points to the cylindar. "Séregon here said not to do something and I don't want to do that by acident, especialy if it has the words danger on it." He stared at the group to see if they would chalenge this action or just wait while the one with information was healed.

The healing would progress slowly unless he was helped by others, because it soon was aparent from inspection that Séregon's was wound in more places as blood was staining the clothes in several areas and not in small quantites. Kaess also found what felt like broken ribs in his chest and the right foot looked odd too. Most of the wounds would have been overlooked at a most casual glances. He informed those around him of his discovers by saying the wounds he found as he came across them. It was probably the were-wolf's impresive natural healing and toughness that kept him alive. It was impressive the wolf hadn't been coughing up blood. "Wow the creature was really strong, it is a good thing he didn't directly hit any of the rest of us."

Séregon drifted in his own thoughts seemingly lost in an endless void he couldn't tell what was happening and some how he knew that he wasn't in control for the moment. He felt tired and almost wanted to disapear into the void, but he hated just accepting things. He continue to drift in this void undecided on what he should or could do. He could barely hear thing, but it seemed so far off. Just left with his thoughts. Still not giving up he started fealing pain and the he seemed to move from what he knew was away, away from what he could say, but he was moving now. However, he still felt a strong pull towards the void an oblivion. 'No I won't go there yet where ever there is' He then just felt pain.

If anyone looked closely they might see changes in facial expersion as the Séregon thought these various things, but they probably would understand what it ment.

Kyzarin watched Fara're trying to beat Séregon awake with little effect. If she wants answers out of him, this is not the way to be going about it. We should be healing him, not trying to kill him. He was about to speak, but first Kaess took Séregon from the weretiger and started attempting to heal him. Kyzarin said, "I agree with the dragon. Trying to kill the werewolf is no way to get answers out of him, for obvious reasons. Patience is what is needed around here. If we heal him and try our best to make sure he's not in too much pain when he wakes up, we stand a much better chance of getting good answers out of him than if we" *looks at Fara're* "try to torture him half to death. It looks like you could use a little help healing him. I'm no expert in healing, but I guess every bit helps." Kyzarin walked over to where Kaess was inspecting Séregon's wounds and began casting a basic healing spell.

Nireza did not immediately put her wand away in response to Kyzarin's words. She intended to get some answers so that she could deal with whatever evil was threatening the group. It seemed that they had been attacked for no other reason than the possibility that there was treasure in the lake, which seemed to be confirmed by the cylinder Séregon had found. However, the enemy they had just faced was clearly evil, which was reason alone for her to remain with this group regardless of what happened. After hearing the dragon pleading with the weretiger to stop torturing Séregon, she realized that threats would get her nowhere. She slid her wand back into her belt and walked over to where Andras was inspecting the cylinder. "I don't recognize those runes, but it seems that I've seen something like that before, although a long time ago, and I have no idea when."

*looking at Kaess*"Now that the excitement is over, don't I know you from somewhere? ... Oh right you helped save me from those slavers."

"Anyway, if I'm careful I think I can inspect this and try to decipher some of the runes without too much risk." Andras pulls a magnifying lens out of his pack and then walks over to the tree line. Placing his hands on a nearby tree he begins to focus and bark begins appearing around his hands like thick gloves. Walking back he explains "I've been practicing barkskin, as you can see I'm still not perfect at it but these should protect me from the cylinder provided I don't try anything foolish like opening it."

Andras looks back to gauge the reactions of the group before continuing. Also he hopes to put off touching the cylinder until the healers are not so preoccupied in case something should go wrong.

{edit}: I put this up in a hurry and forgot to add in the recognition of Kaess bit.
