Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Even as Vernon began to dig into Seth's eye, a dreadful silence began to fill the marsh itself. It was slowly filled with a leathery flapping noise, and then by a short thumping noise, followed by a thick splattering as the marsh's water began to rain upon the nearby landscape. As Rhigose landed within the swamp, the animals all seemed to come to immediate attention, staring carefully at him and his riders. Yaksha lowered himself from the dragon slowly, and waved a single gloved hand at Rhigose. "Keep my brother alive." The dragon nodded just slightly, and then stood gracefully, watching.

Yaksha began to walk slowly and calmly towards Vernon's cave, humming a tune carelessly. To anyone watching, he would've simply seemed like a man simply about to go on a trip. A rather large wolf stepped out from the foliage, snarling quietly at Yaksha. He seemed almost not to notice the wolf, simply walking forward with his hands in his pockets. The wolf began to bolt after him, leaping full into the air towards Yaksha, who simply spun on the heel of his foot, a blue shuriken embedding itself in the wolf's eye and causing frost to quickly travel up its snout. The wolf landed at Yaksha's feet, ice slowly crawling over it. Yaksha leaned forward, pulled out the shuriken with a loud squealch, and began to walk towards the cave once more.

When Yaksha arrived, he looked at the water surrounding the cave, and shook his head. "Nikki, you'll have to stay. The water here is too deep for you to get to the other side. You'd drown before you got halfway." Yaksha himself began to lower himself into the water, and turned back towards Evals and Nikki, his voice soft, and without any chance of reasoning. "30 minutes. Then you leave, Nikki. With or without us." He pointed to Evals, and gestured for her to join him. "You should be fine."

Evals waited patiently, she just wanted to get this over with. Go in, get Seth, possibly get out as quickly as they could. They were inside an under water cave. Amas came through the canopy and landed on her arm when they landed. She had held it out for him to land on, she didn't have to worry about his claws digging into her skin ether. She could manage with a few claw marks in her dead flesh anyways.

She jumped off the Dragon and landed in the marsh water, ankle high where she was. It was only near the shore. She walked a bit further in until the water was at knee height. Still holding Amas on her arm she started to check her pockets to see if she had any food for him.

Yaksha had already shot a wolf with a shuriken. It wasn't moving much, though not dead, she could at least tell that much. When something attacted itself to her leg she checked it and ripped a leech off of her. Well, she had some food for the Owl now. Holding it out in a gesturing offer, Amas took off from her arm and caught the leech and left for the shore.

"We'll be back in out a view Nikki. Don't worry." She said turning to Yaksha and following him. "Watch Amas for me." she said waving him off from her back. Asuming he would have wanted to hug both of them before they left, she didn't give him a chance. Not a reason to leave him like that, just that she didn't want one.

Nikkolai was glad when they were on the ground again, even if it was the marsh. The smell overcame him once again and he felt sick to his stomach, but Nikkolai was trying his hardest to simply ignore it. The smell and the dangerous animals were nothing compared to Seth’s wellbeing. He waited until Yaksha and Evals had gotten off before following suit and trailing behind them a few feet. Nikkolai decided not to use the spear as a walking stick as he so often did, considering how soft and mucky the ground was.

He gulped at Yaksha’s action with the wolf, finding it somewhat sickening even if it had been necessary to keep the three of them safe. He kept his gaze toward the ground, wanting to spare himself the sight of leaches attacking his friends and anymore gruesome encounters with animals.

His jaw dropped in protest when Yaksha said he couldn’t come along, but closed immediately after. He was right; Nikki would probably drown and he would be dead weight if he went along, anyway. He couldn’t fight and he wasn’t going to ruin their chances of saving Seth.

“But Yaksha,” he began fearfully, looking up with widened eyes. “Won’t you drown, too…? It’s probably going to be a farther swim than it looks and I don't want to lose either of you two either…!”

If thirty minutes passed without their return, he wasn’t leaving, though. He just couldn’t bear to lose all three of them.

Yaksha watched Evals approach, and nodded slowly. "Let's get going, then. We've got to save Seth, and I didn't come here to dick around." He turned in a flash, wading knee-deep into the water, watching the leeches cling to his clothes fruitlessly. Several slipped under the clothing, and latched onto his legs, but he merely shook his head distastefully, and pulled down the hood of his clothing. He turned slowly towards his brother, the polished ivory that was his skull gleaming as he smiled. "I'll be fine, Nikki. Water's no trouble for the Lord of the Dead." He grabbed his clothing, throwing them off of himself quickly, and then diving into the water. The leeches attached to his legs slowly let go, realizing there was no grip or food on this target.

Yaksha began to walk through the water slowly, holding the shuriken in his hands lazily. He began to hum softly to himself once more, twirling the shuriken in his bony hands. As he grew closer to the surface and to Vernon, he ceased humming, and simply walked forward with a leisurely pace, showing no obvious hurry, though he moved quite quickly underneath the water. Yaksha finally arrived at the other side of the water, and rose quickly, water streaming off of him and giving him quite the sinister look.

As he began to leave the water, Yaksha threw one of the shuriken quickly, and it flew towards Vernon in a flash, the sound of air slicing quite loud in such confined spaces. "Vernon, you've had your fun. Now it's time for you to answer for your crimes." He pulled out a dagger, slipping it into the hand that had thrown the shuriken. He crouched close to the ground, his voice almost inaudible from the hatred and anger that choked it. "He didn't do a damn thing. He was INNOCENT, he was PERFECT." Yaksha seemed not even to notice Seth, speaking only to Vernon, his voice growing even more fevered, the words almost spat out with a venom that should've killed Vernon even now. "I used to respect you, used to think we could've worked together and do great things. But there are certain things you just don't do, Vernon! You crossed the line, Vernon! Now it's time to take what's yours!"

He hadn't heard anything that Vernon said. He wouldn't show it, but his fear was taking over, threatening to drown him. His palms were dripping in a cold sweat as the rats bound them behind his back, and the claws that slowly worked their way towards his face did nothing to assuage his growing terror. He couldn't close his eyes for some reason; his body had stopped responding at some point. And even as the claws clenched around his eye, he didn't think of the pain.

He thought of his friends.

He thought about how they were safe, because of his suffering. He thought of how they'd live on even if he didn't. If he died in this marsh... If he died, Evals would get over his death quickly enough; Cassiel would forget him in a few months; Yaksha would just say he had had it coming; Ranewen would laugh in delight; Nikki- He couldn't think about Nikki, it was too painful to imagine how much trauma would befall the fairy from his death. But they would all live, and that was all he needed to know.

He was still numb to the world, to Vernon's taunting remarks and actions; His iron will had practically forced him to remove himself from the world, if only to preserve his sanity. He knew that his torture had only begun, and that unless, by some miracle, he escaped now, he wouldn't be the same.

He hadn't expected a miracle. At first when he'd heard the sound of something rising from the water, he'd simply thought it must have been another creature Vernon was calling. But then came a familiar voice, an angry familiar voice. "Ya... Yaksha?" he muttered, starting to come out of his daze. The feeling of only seeing from one eye was disorienting, even after he managed to pull out the rat that had stuffed the socket. A quick- yet difficult from the repeated drainings of his power- burst of healing magic and the bleeding was stopped, though the new wound would definitely need cleaned.

But there was no mistaking it, once he'd focused with his remaining eye. It was Yaksha- Yaksha, calling him perfect and innocent. He couldn't help but smile. The situation probably wasn't much less hopeless, but... At least this way he knew they stood a chance. Thinking on it, he'd never seen Yaksha fight on his own before, but that was unimportant.

"How...? Why...?" he stammered, suddenly finding it hard to breath. It wasn't the smell of the marsh, it wasn't the pain of losing his eye. Something else was squeezing the air from him, and he could feel it; Tears welling up in his eyes, stained rose-red in his right socket from the dried blood that they trickled down over. "Where are- Nikki, Evals, have you seen them?" he asked desperately, needing to know that they were safe; If he knew only that, then everything would have been worth it.

Would have whipped the zoned out Seth once more for acting stupid before thrusting the treat down the aaisamar's throat, but he was warned of intruders. It was certainly better that she had warned him of the to approaching intruders rather that dashing after them. Dead crocs told no tales, though if it was just Evals and somehow Nikki, they would instead be the ones shredded to pieces. Vernon was not fond of the idea of dealing with intruders here, the area did well too limit options. Still any rescue attempt had to deal with puzzle of getting Seth to the surface without drowning him.

Some twerp in an overabundance of clothing. A bounty hunter with something to hide? He had no chance of catching a scent here which annoyed him, but the creature was clearly a versatile mage, undead, or aquatic to have made it here alive. A quick spell ruled out the later and lack of leeches hinted that being was undead and did not need to breathe. The aaisamar certainly attracted a strange crowd. This was proved even more when the robed fellow revealed his identity. Vernon was expecting an attack, but expecting this fool to be who it turned out to be.

Vernon slipped to the side and narrowly avoided the attack, though a rodent on his shoulder had not been so fortunate and ended up a ratcicle that flew off of Vernon's shoulder a fair distance before striking the ground. Vernon swiftly identified the voice as Yaksha, the hapless fool that could do nothing right. He claimed an overabundance of intelligence, but proved quite the opposite at every given chance. Vernon was duely annoyed with the annoying twerp, but could not help but find himself amused by Yaksha words and the way they came out.

"For one with so many crimes against the innocent you are certainly one to talk. I can slaughter a bar, and yet treating one aaisamar as a special guest is one step too far? What line have I crossed? Have you finally lost your mind or have you merely turned a blind eye to your demon heritage?" Vernon laughed still swing the eye like a pendulum. Was Yaksha truly daft or was he truly daft enough to look for a fight here?

"One small sample is all you need to see that he still holds his innocence and whatever perfection he had, though I must admit perfection tastes much better than he ever did," Vernon snickered while eating the eye. Perfect? The foolish celestial hardly met any meaning of the word, though he did have a delightful taste without any seasonings.

"I'm glad you're finally showing your true colors Yaksha. There's a reason why you failed your tasks, your impressive wit was not but a tale from your unraveled mind. I suppose that's why you did not even give a try at either target. A sheep-loving wolf, a failure at all you should do, this is what you are. If it is the end this you seek, I suppose I could be kind enough to aid you," Vernon shrugged before drawing Scourge. Seth was paid minimal attention. He didn't seem much of a threat and if he were to even make a successful escape it mattered little, there were bigger fish to fry and one like Seth would likely be easy to find for more fun later if desired.

Evals just walked into the water following Yaksha. It was a short while before she was near the surface of teh water again. She poked her head above the water to watch and listen quickly. She had a plan already, cut off the exit so that Vernon or the rats wouldn't be escaping. Looking around the room, luckily there were other corspes in the room already. Just half of her head above the water, and hidden behind Yaksha, she heard Seth ask if her and Nikki were ok.

She was fine, a little water logged, Nikki was hopefully safe with the Dragon. It made her feel a little guilty that she came back, he had lost his eye, and Vernon ate it. He lost that eye because he stayed behind for them. She should have been the one to stay, she would have been out without any pain. He was feeling a lot probably.

Retreating back into the water she threw her guilt away and started to talk into the water. It didn't exactly work but she could spell cast at least. A very well familiar purple swirling vortex opened underwater. She needed something that had tentacles and would be able to move underwater... something large and quick at the same time.

The Summon went through and a lot of water was displaced on both sides of the marsh, the shore line where Nikki was, and inside the cave. When this was done, it was obvious something else was under there. Coming out of the water now, "lleisgar." She said waving her hands at the corspes nears Vernon and Seth. In a moment theree of them would begin to rise as Undead under her control.

"Yeah Seth, I am fine." Evals stated fully coming out of the water, her Demon Claws equiped on her hands. Hopefully he would understand why she came, to rescue him. She wasn't going to be leaving without him, whatever he was dead or alive.

Yaksha stared at Vernon, the hatred from his eyes almost palpable in the thick air. He held the other shuriken in his hand, and threw it quickly, even as Vernon began to speak about his lack of wit. "Shut up, Vernon. I don't need my wit to beat a simpleton like yourself. I can see right through you, to your very being. You're not as complex as you'd like to think." He shifted his dagger from hand to hand, and began to slowly writhe beneath the clothing.

Yaksha began to slowly approach Vernon, his entire body swaying as if he were drunk, his dagger still shifting from hand to hand too quickly to notice. As he grew even closer, he lunged, shifting the dagger once more into the opposite hand, and then stabbing at his head. Even as he did, he began to bark several arcane words, his other hand waving towards Vernon as a long tongue of fire shot out in an arc, heading sideways for his chest. With luck, at least one of them would've hit the rat.

He knew time was growing short on how long he would be able to remain conscious. So, deciding it was the best thing for him to do, he forced himself to stand. Every muscle, every tendon screamed in protest; he'd grown too weak from all the whippings, but he'd be damned if he let Yaksha- and the recently arrived Evals- go this alone. There would be no time to be joyful that Evals was all right, no time to rush and greet his friends, no time to try and end this peacefully.

"Barachiel... If you can hear me... Then please, help them!" He choked on his words as he pleaded out loud in the Celestial tongue for her help, knowing it would catch her attention more easily than common language. He was too weak at the moment to try and access their bond directly, it would be too much strain. The being he was infused to had remained quiet; he still didn't know why, but he didn't care. If she would just answer his one simple 'prayer,' then he knew everything would work out in the end.

Darkness was closing in, gripping at the edges of his psyche. Only a few seconds left, just enough time to hear a muttered, "Yes," in a wise old voice before he fell backwards, landing at Evals feet.

And moments later, from the middle of his chest under his whip-torn shirt, there shone a bright, white light. It filled the cavern for only a moment, but that moment was all that was needed. His Blessed Aura reaching out, Barachiel used the last of the Aasimar's magic to bring it into effect. Yaksha, Evals, even the summoned zombies; all would be filled with hope, which would allow them to fight more effectively. And, his 'prayer' answered, he fell into darkness with a smile on his face.

-

The Celestial that had bound herself to Seth was constantly surprised by him. He'd allowed himself so much pain for those he'd called friends; even then, his friends surprised her. An undead girl, a Tiefling Lych? Such acquaintances were unheard of for a being of Celestial descent.

But how could she judge him?

He'd never done anything impure or wrong since she had bound her soul to his, and to her knowledge, hadn't done anything before either. Now, seeing him fall, she realized that she'd done all she could; she'd even held back from draining his energy for their bond when the whippings had began.

And it hadn't been enough. Would he feel anger towards her? No, that was unlikely. In the end, she knew he would forgive her.

Just as he would probably forgive the scum that had taken his eye. That was fine, he could do whatever he wanted. The one bound to him was not so quick to forgive. Barachiel silently vowed that she would not let this grievance go unabsolved. She vowed that she would make the monster in the Marsh suffer, in whatever way she was capable of.

(Kinda needed it to get back to Yaksha and Vernon, poke me if there are any issues)

Kemi went unbothered as she summoned a demon, but just as she began to attempt to bring unlife into several of the dead bodies she was assaulted by the crocodile that had been waiting by the entrance. Chances were in favor of the spell not working at all from the sudden distraction.

Vernon had permitted Seth to join his friends, but not without a parting gift a small crystalline spider whose movements were likely unfelt in Seth's condition. Slowly, but steadily it made it's way to the gaping hole in the aaisamar's head. It slipped inside and secured itself by pressing four of it's eight legs into the walls of the socket.

Vernon dodged the second projectile with a swift duck wishing the half-demon's aim was as laughable as his rage. It was hard to believe one of his kind could truly care for such a despicably good being. Yaksha's emotions seemed to rule him, Vernon hoped that lead to him being less effective in combat. Vernon had enough time to cast a spell as Yaksha approached, but he had no idea it wold hardly prove useful for offense. A swarm of bats rushed out of his backpack and made it's way towards Yaksha.

"Shut up, the typical words of the defeated. Surely you can do better," Vernon grinned as he dodged the slash with a swift side step. He'd have been less fortunate at dodging the whip if it wasn't bats that got the way of the whip's path. A screech then rended the air, coming form Seth and more specifically the creature hiding within his eye socket. "Flee now with Seth, Evals!" Vernon commanded as he slashed Yaksha's side with Scrouge. The weapon was not the best choice against a dagger in close combat, but it was much easier to block incoming attacks with his claw.

"Fail to leave my marsh immediately and Seth will die," Vernon snickered before another screech cut through the air. Attempting to pull the creature out would fail horribly if not lead to fatal bleeding and it was very easy for the spider to bring cause fatal damage from its position. If they cared for the aaisamar, they were at his mercy and Yaksha was the only thing he would need to focus on. The crocodile would make herself docile and even take Seth and Evals back to the surface if Evals were to act in accordance.

Evals ignored the crocodile to finish bringing the three Undead up to fight the annoying Rat. She didn't have to deal with it as two quick, small and sharp tentacles shot from the water to intercept the beast. They didn't seem to have much on them besides deadly ends, no suckion cups or anything. They moved to slice the crocodile into pieces if it didn't move out of the way. Not caring much what the Demon did as long as it didn't attack her or Seth, and possibly Yaksha, Evals grabbed Seth and slugged him over her shoulder with one of her arms.

Usually she was planning ion ignoring Vernon but what he said was fine. Stepping back into the water she didn't bother to look back as she held up her Umbra tailsment. Quickly saying the chant she needed, she summoned three dark Umbra and sent them all to attack Vernon, as well as the three Undead.

"Buh Bye!" She said with a quick wave and a smirk as two of the tentacles came from under water and wrapped around her quickly. Pulling her through the water quickly enough to give Seth enough time to breath. Though being out cold complicated things. He would keep breathing even under water.

Once the tentacle released them she was still a bit underwater. Swimming up with one of her arms and iron on her was difficult, plus an unconscious probably drowning body. Breaking the surface she looked around and went to the shoreline quickly. "Nikki, no talking until we get on the Dragon and leave. Got it?" She said knowing he was going to ask a few hundred and a half questions that she wouldn't be able to answer, most of them asking the same thing over and over again. 'Is Seth Alive, is he alright?'

Climbing onto the Dragon quickly without question or hesitation, she helped Nikki up. "Heal him, and his lungs might be full of water. Give him that, whatever it was called to get the water out of his lungs." She didn't want to do it because she wasn't exactly sure how, and her lungs were mostly full of water as well, as well as a lot of spots on her.

It was gut wrenching, waiting for them here, not knowing if they were being skewered or eaten alive! Nikkolai’s nails were half chewed off in his anxiety and his heart was racing so fast and hard in his chest that he thought it would give out. Yaksha, Evals, Seth… he knew they were strong, but could they make it against Vernon? He hated thinking that the rat wouldn’t play fair, but that was the reality of things and it was something he had to take into consideration.

Fifteen minutes. Nikkolai exhaled shakily and stared intently at the water they had ducked down into, not going to look away until he saw them breach the surface. If he had to he would find a way to go underneath as well to help them. He didn’t want to, but he would if he had to, if only because they meant more to him than he thought they even knew.

And then he saw her. His eye went wide and a smile broke onto his face when he saw Evals carrying Seth and he ran to meet her, ready to start asking questions she already anticipated. There was one thing that bothered him, though – where was Yaksha, why hadn’t he come with them?

A deep, sinking feeling engulfed his stomach and made his skin crawl. Nevertheless he followed them back to the dragon, taking Seth from her and laying him down on the dragon’s back so he had some room to work.

“Oh my God,” he squeaked, seeing the missing eye that matched his own. Nikki raised a hand to his mouth, almost shaking with some unfamiliar emotion. It was so much stronger than anger or the inability to forgive. Hate… it was so foreign that even in his mind it didn’t seem like it belonged there.

He listened vaguely to what she said, barely nodding. Before he could heal his eye and other wounds he first had to get the water out of his lungs, though – Seth being able to breathe was a little more important, especially when infection could be fought off later. Nikkolai straddled Seth and pushed his hands down onto his chest with all the strength he could muster, waiting a moment before covering Seth’s mouth with his own and exhaling into him. Nikkolai repeated this process several times until finally Seth began to cough the water up out of his lungs.

Nikkolai grabbed the spear again and held it over Seth’s chest, watching it glow faintly as its healing energy began to flow into him. The water wasn’t clean enough to clean his eye out with, so hopefully greater heal and stop disease would be enough for now.

“Everything will be okay,” he said soothingly, moving a hand through Seth’s hair to move it away from the wound and to try and make him more comfortable.

It was at that moment that he noticed something on the inside of Seth’s eye socket – it was faint, but it was there and if Nikkolai’s assumption was correct it wasn’t something to be ignored. With his stomach rolling and tightening Nikkolai swallowed and forced himself to pull at the flesh around Seth’s eye a little, having to turn his head away immediately and gagging when he saw the spider.

“What did they do to you…?!” he whispered, quite clearly pained. He took a moment to gather himself back together before removing the head of the unicorn spear. Again he spread the flesh apart and cringed as he poked the point inside the gaping hole directly beneath the spider, not wanting to kill it or hurt Seth anymore. He whimpered and somehow managed to remove it from the wound, watching it plop somewhere far away from them before reattaching the head to the spear and holding it over Seth’s chest to begin healing him again.

“Evals… where’s Yaksha?” His voice was dry and it was added almost like an afterthought.

The blade struck Yaksha's side, slicing through the cloak neatly and grazing against the bone with a loud scraping noise. Yaksha pushed the blade aside and approached Vernon, making sure that he was positioned just in front of his shuriken, before he rose a hand, and barked a short word that caused the air to shimmer. A tongue of flame shot forward, and he snarled at Vernon. He snarled at him, completely devoid of emotion or rage now. "Don't worry, I'll return you to the precious marsh you love so much, Vernon." Even as he spoke, the shuriken began to tremble, rising several feet off the ground and zooming towards Yaksha. Vernon himself would be hard pressed to even notice the shuriken were approaching, let alone to dodge them.

Even as they grew closer, Yaksha began to spin his dagger in his hand. "I'm done playing with you. I was just getting Seth out of here earlier, but now I just want to see you done for." He lunged forward as the shuriken grew closer, and snatched at Vernon's shirt. "Even if I have to die to see it happen."

Vernon was surprised by the despairing result of his attack. His should have certainly met flesh before it got where it did, yet there was no flesh to speak of, no wonder there were no leeches on him. He should have seen that sooner. This clearly meant that the annoying pest would be even more difficult to deal with. It was almost frustrating. His most favored of tactics were notably now poor or useless options, but there was more than one way to skin a cat or pick a bone for that matter.

Vernon's bat's poor job of preventing the second of Yaksha's attacks with the fiery whip. Vernon was too busy concentrating to dodge and as a consequence had to contend with the searing hot pain that threatened to break that concentration and most certainly fueled Vernon's fury more than Yaksha's words likely ever could.

There was a lot going on, the bats were disappointed by the bag of bones before the, Umbras were called into being, bonebrain was casting some some sort of spells, his pets were warning him of something behind him and worst of all dinner was rising up against him. Not the word's greatest moment, though most of it was easily resolved. The zombies would first contend with the rat swarm, which would likely leave bones before the zombies could make it half way. The Umbra would not dare attack Vernon for numerous reasons, though he could give this umbra a direction they could follow. Vernon's pets managed to tie up what ever trick Yaksha had behind is back, and Yaksha's spell seemed only to have that muted effect.

Vernon lacked eyes in the back of his head, but most assuredly had eyes at his back, though they had no physical connection to him. One the rodent's peering out of his back pack notice the shuriken curiously rattle against the ground before rising and moving forward. Some pets warned Vernon of the anomaly behind him, but one musfa sought to enforce gravity himself and in a daring leap jumped on the projectile, bring the item back to the ground and notably slowing it, though it still hovered towards Yaksha. Chrisis averted and the food that would have likely been hit before Vernon was saved. The other shuriken was of course still stuck inside the frozen rat, though it to floated to Yaksha at a quicker pace.

Vernon hissed, though not out of spite of his annoying opponent. It was to speak with the umbra, rats, and bats and direct them against their new foe the zombies. He could try and set them upon Yaksha later, though he doubted they would do more than get in the way.

Vernon hardly bothered avoiding Yaksha's attempt to grab his shirt, though even as Yaksha did so the shirt expanded and grew along with Vernon. The rest of Vernon's clothing similarly expanded and grew though his demon claws and and scourge receded into hands that grew into fearsome bear claws. When the transformation was over his form was no longer that of some skinny wererat but rather a large meaty bear nearly double his former height. If Yaksha had attempted to hold on a vigorous shake would likely be enough to get him off. If not an 8-ton bodyslam would likely put him out of his misery. "You talk too much to have any credit, now is the time where you show," Vernon grinned. At the same time the Shuirken lodged in the frozen rat broke free of it's conjured prison and zoomed as it should to Yaksha's hand, though Vernon was no longer directly in the path.

(I'm tired and the stuff with the umbra's is animal empathy)

Yaksha jumped back several feet, and watched Vernon silently, and then snatched the shuriken from the air. He crouched closer to the ground in silence, and began to twirl the shuriken in his hand as he watched in silence. His hands lashed out quickly, the shuriken flying from them and approaching Vernon again. As they grew just within swiping distance, Yaksha let out a sharp bark. "Tanz, mein lieblings!" Almost simultaniously, both shuriken zoomed aside, and began to circle Vernon quickly. The shuriken moved so fast, it'd be nearly impossible to get by without some part of him getting struck.

As the shuriken circled Vernon, Yaksha rose to his full height, slowly pulling off one of his gloves to reveal a skeletal hand, the bone as white as if the flesh had fallen off only minutes ago. His gaze moved towards the dragon in the corner slowly, and he waved a hand lazily. Arcane words began to spill forth from his hood, causing the air to shimmer and grow hazy. His hand continued to wave in more and more complex circles, the dragon's body beginning to twitch as his magic continued to assault it, making it grow closer and closer to undeath.

As Yaksha began to cast, a subtle shifting could be seen beneath his cloak, and a large snake slithered out from below, wrapping itself around his leg as it moved closer. The creature spotted Vernon, and rose slowly, a pair of leathery wings on it flapping majestically. The creature's lemon-yellow eyes met Vernon's, and in them was a hatred that could've killed Vernon by itself, if it had been given any sort of physical form.
