| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Lehona stood behind one of the ornate buildings of Kellen and held the clear orb out in the palm of her hand. Her fingers were cold with the winter chill that often times accompanied the wondrous snow that fell this time of year. For days she had set her mind to nothing else but to this smallest and simplest of spells, or at least that is how it had been explained to her when she opened the ancient tome that had been delivered nearly four days ago. To keep the chill off the rest of her body, she had worn her long brown leather cloak. Her hood had been throw back in frustration as she settled in to cast the spell again. Small white flakes of snow dotted her thick mass of auburn hair which flowed still down her back. Narrowing her almond eyes in concentration, she attempted the incantation and gesture again, hoping to see the simply falling flakes swirl at last. "tur sulea" The words were foreign but firm as they escaped their lips. She had practiced them so much that she now knew them by heart. With her free hand she made a large wave in front of her which was also foreign but determined. Just as the gesture ended, the flakes of snow about six feet in away drag quickly to one side. Her slender fingers swept to her lips in a surprised sort of expression as her eyes widened with delight. Clutching the orb close her her, Lehona spun around in the snow with her long hair dancing in her wake. A small celebration her small triumph. Wanting nothing more than to try the spell again, she settled down onto her two feet again and sighed out a breath to calm herself and find the same emotion which had caused her to cast the spell. Repeating the words and the gesture, Lehona played with the snowflakes in a playful manner without much thought to her surroundings. |

Delki was tightened into a shivering mass that rested on an overhang. Already he had peaked about for a way into the buildings but remarkably hadn’t found one. It seemed that the people of this village really knew how to close up for the winter. Few people came and went from the buildings, thus limiting that possibility. So it was by those means that Delki found himself on this platform. He would stir occasionally to free himself from gathered snow, and then huddle up again. Snow continued to fall regardless of his plight. It would seem he was in for a long and cold night. While Delki was unaware of this, the snow had been building up steadily in a certain manner. The weight was growing on the overhang and slowly gravity began to tug the snow down the slope. It was barely noticeable for some time, but then snow continued to pile up and up until in a mighty “slop” it came slipping down. The pixie was caught up in the downward motion of snow and fell down in a confused and chilled fit. The mound of snow found its way onto someone standing below and Delki was freed as it impacted. He tumbled for a brief moment before settling to a stop on what most likely was a shoulder. |

It was cold. Aurea hated the cold and not only was it cold, it was snowing. Even with thick, leather boots and a cloak wrapped tight around her body, the chill seemed to sink into every pore to zap what little warmth she had. It honestly wouldn't have been so bad if she were one of those people who loved cold weather but, to be honest, she just preferred it warm. Not blazing hot like the desert, but a comfortable warm like you would have on spring days. And it wasn't just the cold that had put her in a bad mood, it was the fact that she was wandering around what was only a decent sized village and yet, she was lost. According to the sole person she had seen upon entering said village, she should have already come to the tavern but she'd probably passed it at least twice given the time she'd been wandering around. Figuring that she hadn't gone this way quite yet, Aurea cut down a different road that happened to lead her behind a set of buildings. Upon realizing this, she started to turn around only to spot a figure standing a short distance away, playing with some type of orb it looked like. She paused and, as she watched, the woman said something and made a gesture and, just as the hand motion ended, she saw snow a decent distance from the woman go flying in a different direction. The woman then proceeded to do what could only be called a victory dance and then seemed to settle in to practice her spell again. Aurea seemed to almost forget the freezing bite of the weather as she herself settled in beside one of the buildings to watch the woman playing with the snow. She'd only been standing there for a few moments when, suddenly, a whole pile of snow slid off the roof and right onto her head. With a yelp and a string of curses, Aurea jumped, her hand automatically going to the dagger at her hip before she'd realized what had happened. She started to brush all of the snow off when she encountered a mass to large to just be a snow clump settled on one shoulder. "What in the world?" She muttered a loud, reaching up and trying to grab whatever it was even as she turned to try and see the thing. |

A black furred wolf padded through the snow, single white streak atop his head matching the snowflakes atop it. Bloody green eyes shone with a curious light as he made footprints in the snow. Nemael always found snow to be a strange thing, something so alien in his world of warm bloodshed and dark tunnels. A snowflake touched his nose, sticking atop it in plain view. Going a little cross-eyed, Nemael lapped it up, sweeping it onto a pink tongue. The wolf continued on his way, smelling people. After a short run he found himself behind a building, accompanied by a woman. Sitting on his hind legs, the large wolf panted, pink tongue hanging from the side casually. The drow-wolf simply watched her, waiting for a reaction. |

Startled by the string of curses, Lehona stopped in the middle of her spellcast and turned to see a woman doused in snow. The sight was amusing, but it must not have been pleasant what with it being so chilly. Absently, she pulled the orb close to her body and reached to wave as the woman seemed to struggle with herself. It's only a bit of snow now really.. Lehona thought with an entertained sort of grin on her lips. Still, she called out to see if there was anything she might be able to do for the woman. "Excuse me, are you alright?" But just before she could start her way over, Lehona noticed a white-striped wolf out of the corner of her eye. It was sitting still as the snow fell down around, quite like a painted picture. Giving the animal a warm smile, she swept her long hair over one shoulder with her empty hand and then placed it on her hip. At the moment, there was nothing fearsome about this animal so her first instinct was that it was someone's pet. Not that she could remember anyone in these parts owning a dog that looked particularly like this one, all the same, she would do her part and send it along. "Shouldn't you be inside somewhere warm instead of out here in this cold? Go on now, go home." |

Delki groaned and rose to his feet. If he was cold before, he was freezing now. Snow was still clumped to portions of him and he was shivering violently. He looked around groggily for what had happened and where he was. Things came slowly to the pixie in his current state; it took him too long to realize his position on the woman’s shoulder and the hand that neared him. The cold was getting at him; it had been for the past few hours. It was rare that Delki would ever find himself in a situation quite like this; he usually had someplace nice and warm to tuck away into during the winter. Thus, he was hardly dressed appropriately for the weather which only added to his shivering state. Not to mention the fact that what clothing he did have was soggy. The hand was so close Delki could reach out and touch it. His eyes went wide and he tried in vain to bring his sword forth. Due to his constant shivering, he lost hold of the sword and it plummeted down to the snowy mounds at the woman’s feet. The pixie gave a startled yelp as he was grasped and he began to struggle desperately to free himself. |

Aurea felt whatever it was on her shoulder start moving a second or two before her hand closed around it. Hearing a soft yelp, she brought her hand back around to look and see what she'd found. She instantly loosened her grip, changing it so that instead of holding him, he rested on the palm of her hand. "What happened? Are you ok?" The second question was added on with the first after she took note of the pixie's almost violent shivering that was visible even as he had struggled. Even as she was worrying over him, she couldn't help what notice his bright orange wings and absently she admired them before realizing it and turning her attention back to the matter at hand. Suddenly remembering the other woman and, having heard her call out, she looked over at her. "I'm fine, though I don't think he is," she replied in a voice loud enough to be heard over the wind and the small distance between them. She glanced around to see who else the woman had been talking to only to spot a rather large black wolf. She tilted her head, wondering why in the world a wolf was out wandering in the village but then shrugged and decided that it was probably just someone's pet or something. |

At the sound of the woman's voice, Lehona momentarily forgot about the white striped wolf. She was confused by what the woman had said, "I'm fine, though I don't think he is." He? He who? From where she was standing it was just a woman who had been unfortunate enough to be the landing spot for shifting snow. Deciding to investigate, she hid her orb away into the safety of her cloak pocket and started over. "What do you mean you don't think he is?" Lehona said curiously as she made her way to the brown-haired human. There was something in this woman's hand but she thought nothing of it. Craning her neck in all directions to try to see what she had meant. Finding no one, she merely shook her head with a baffled look on her face. "Are you sure that you are alright? There is no one here but the two of us, Miss." Apparently the snow that had slid from the roof had done more than simply cover the by-stander in snow, it had clearly knocked all sense out of her. It was cold and the scent of food floated on the air, perhaps a nice warm meal could knock it back into her and Lehona could help her on her way. |

Delki shifted in the palm so that he was now looking up toward the woman who the hand belonged to. He attempted to say something, anything really but all that came out was a faint gasp and more teeth chattering. It was so cold to the small pixie that he was barely able to even think straight. If he had thought it couldn’t possibly get colder huddled up into that ball, he had been very wrong. Despite the fact that he was now mostly free from the clump of snow the added chill remained. He shifted slightly where he sat and some small clumps of snow fell off from various places. One landed on top of his stomach and he gave a slight cry. To him it felt almost like being stabbed, which he had some experience with. It was with even more freezing that he finally stood up and looked over to the other person he had heard. Delki was too cold now to worry about capture, if anything it probably would be much warmer than his current predicament. He shuddered again and dropping into a fetal position. It was just so cold, so very, very cold. Delki shut his eyes and fell asleep. |

Aurea looked up at the woman moved closer to them, absently noted that her orb had disappeared, into a random pocket, she assumed. At the other woman's words, she chuckled and shook her head. "I mean, the pixy currently sitting in my hand isn't well," she told her, extending her palm out so that the other woman could see that there was actually a pixy perched there. "I'm not crazy," she added, almost as an after thought. The good mood that had randomly sprung up disappeared just as quickly as it had come when she looked down at the pixy and realized that the cold was getting to him. She swore, her hand carefully closing around the now sleeping pixy, pulling it back to her. "Well hell, I think the cold just knocked the guy out," she told to the girl near her. "Can you get me to the tavern so I can get him inside and warm him up?... And I could probably use the warmth too," Aurea added as she brought the arm holding the pixy inside her cloak. She placed the hand holding him close to her body, hoping that her heat would help him at least a little. |

(it's nemael, hope you don't mind. i killed him and auron took his place and stuff XP. same char so far, just different name and eye color lol.) The wolf whimpered as Lehona walked over to the others, following. He hadn't noticed Aurea and the pixie before, seeing them now. At the sight of the woman, his ears perked. Tongue lolling out the side of his mouth, tail wagging, he ran over enthusiastically, half running, half leaping with each step. As he did so, a bit of snow fell from above, over Aurea's head. Auron sat down next to lehona, facing Aurea. The source of the snow falling became evident as a brown fox's head peered from above, looking down from the roof. Kit snickered quietly. Auron cocked his head at Aurea, amber eyes shining familiarly, waiting for her to recognize either him or kit. His eyes glazed as he looked through kit's eyes. He shifted back as he realized what the sly mutt was viewing. The wolf whined and got down on his belly, folding one paw over the other and resting his head on them. |

"Apparently you aren't crazy!" Lehona's eyes were huge with surprise even as the woman withdrew the freezing pixie into the hopeful warmth of her cloak. She had read all about fae with her mother and stared with awe over pictures when she was little, but she had never been so lucky as to really see one with her own two eyes. Disappointment ebbed in her outer thoughts as the sight of him was taken away. "Well, it would appear that we could all use a bit of warmth then." Lehona had noticed that the wolf had followed and looked down. He really did appear to be tame and so she found no reason to worry at present. The poor fellow was probably as cold as they all were and needed a nice fire just the same. Nodding a moment, she gestured over toward a large building to the East. "We are not far from it now, just a short walk before we duck in to warm up. My name is Lehona by the way." The half-elf said casually with a genuine smile. Practice would have to wait again until tomorrow she thought, one couldn't imagine how much fatigue spellcasting caused. Lehona waved the woman to follow as she walked toward the inn and even winked at the wolf as a sign to tag along as well. |

{ooc: Delki told me to skip him since he's technically unconcious. He said he'll probably come in for the next round of posting.} "I said I wasn't crazy, didn't I?" Aurea muttered but her annoyance was fleeting, disappearing as quickly as it came. "Yours?" She added, glancing down at the wolf beside the woman only to do a double take. Now she knew that wolves had amber eyes but she could swear that those were very familiar. Her thoughts were confirmed when another pile of snow dropped onto her and, after swearing a second time, she looked up to see a brown face grinning down at her. "I swear, I really am going to skin you now Kit!" She growled up at the fox though there wasn't any true anger evident in her voice. "I'm Aurea," she replied when Lehona offered her own name though she was currently busy trying to get the rest of the new snow pile off of her. It was rather difficult with only one hand but after a few minutes, she managed to get the majority of the stuff off of her. "We're close then?" Aurea asked, the first traces of a smile appearing on her face. Good, that meant that they'd be out of this blasted cold soon. "Lead the way and we will follow... Come on Kit," she added, glancing up at the fox just to make sure that he would be coming with them.. She didn't trust him to stay out on his own and not annoy others. She cast another glance down at the wolf, almost completely positive that Auron had somehow managed to change his form, which wasn't actually that hard considering. She raised a brow at him before turning to follow Lehona back towards the tavern. |

Auron followed the conversation, eyes following each speaker in turn, tongue gathering a fine layer of frost. Seeing Aurea ask if he was lehona's made him chuckle a bit, heaving slightly in amusement. Seeing the pixie beneath her cloak, auron stood and shook off, walking slowly towards Aurea, hair standing on end along his spine as he tried to nose into her cloak and lick the pixie. Kit sniffed at Aurea, brushing the remainder of snow away from the cleared path with a bushy brown tail. Hopping down from the roof, the fox slipped a little, landing on his back into a large pile of snow, bringing a good foot high layer of snow on top of him. Glancing halfheartedly at the fox, auron shook his head, seeing lehona gesture to tag along. Gladly, he bounded off after her, leaving kit to nose his way out of the pile of snow by himself. Seeing Aurea raise an eyebrow at her, he shot her an all-too-familiar wink. As he padded after the half elf, tail wagging. Kit jumped out of the snow, nipping at aurea's heel as he raced around the corner and out of sight. |

"No, he isn't mine. But he is quite handsome, isn't he?" She said in reference to the wolf that appeared to follow her. Lehona had thought that it was cute, much like what some would call puppy love and that made her smile. Taking no notice to the wink that he gave Aurea, Lehona turned her eyes to the wolf, sharing her smile with him and winking. Perhaps in the morning she would ask around for his home. If he had none, then she might be able to find a bit of room for him back at the cottage so he could at least keep warm. "Not far at all actually." She said in answer to the woman's second question and turned to pose one of her own. "Perhaps we could share a meal after we warm up near the fire to postpone our return to the cold a little longer." Lehona had turned her attentions back to Aurea. Add the tiny fae, she thought, and they were an eclectic group. This too caused her to smile and so she continued to, feeling a small warmth in her chest that had nothing to do with temperature. It was always nice, if not only a relief, to meet new people who greeted you without prejudice. As the five of them continued along the path toward the Green Gryphon, Lehona hugged herself to keep from the cold a little longer. The orb laying heavy in her pocket, causing her cloak to sway in time with her steps. It wasn't until then that she realized that her practice had not only distracted her from the elements of winter but also kept her warm. She would have to remember that whenever she found herself out in the wintry weather again. |
