| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"Now, I assume you're not going to cause any trouble...so, I'm going to let you off with a warning for now. You can go, but don't start anymore fights." "Me?!" the girl exclaimed, clearly outraged at what the four guards standing in front of her thought. "I didn't start anything! He's the one that insulted me, and I would've done a lot more if you idiots hadn't pulled me off!" "If we hadn't pulled you off," the guard said, "you'd have killed him and his two friends. Sure, he insulted you - and not in a way any lady should have to hear, I'll admit; his friends joined in the laughter. For that, he and his friends are spending the night in jail to give them time to think about what they've done. But you didn't have to go breaking nine ribs, two noses, three arms, a leg, and giving them all two black eyes." The guard had a half-admiring, half-stern look on his face now as he looked at Ligeia; clearly, he was astonished - as the others undoubtedly were - that such a small girl had taken on three roughnecks with her bare hands. Clearly, she was anything but tame, and all she had to show for it were some bruised knuckles and a twisted ankle. Fortunately, the ankle was fine now. The bruises would disappear within a day or two. "Now, that's the end of this. Take your gear and go, before I change my mind." Angry that she was the one in trouble even without being sent to jail for the night, she strapped on her short bow and quiver and walked out, slamming the door as hard as she could behind her. The cool evening air greeted her welcomingly after the too-warm jailhouse, but then, heat had never really affected Ligeia. That wasn't surprising considering what she was. Any idiot could've figured it out, too, if they'd known anything about her kind at all. She was marked clearly by the bright-orange color of her shoulder-length straight hair, worn loose now as it always was - though she'd had someone in the village curl part of it today, so there were tight curls hanging to the sides of her head as she stormed away from the building. Even more clearly right now were the red-orange irises flashing like fire as she tried to walk off her anger. After about twenty minutes, she was finally calming down; she was still irritated with the whole event, but at least she wasn't raging. Nonetheless, as she rounded a corner, she ran into someone roughly and, in trying to step back quickly, she fell flat on her butt. She sat there for a moment, staring up at the person whom she'd bumped into, before mumbling an apology. |

Fara're walked through the streets of Kellen. Her black hair waved softly on the breeze. She suddenly stepped back with a loud "Ooof!" as a girl ran into her. The elf did not lose her blanace, but the girl did. She rushed forward and helped the girl to her feet. "Are you okay?" she asked. "Sorry I was not watching where I was going, did not see you there." She noticed a few bruises on the girl. "What happened? You weren't attacked were you? There are some unsavory people in places like this." She gave the girl a quick glance over. She did not look badly hurt, in fact she guess these bruises came from her hitting someone, not someone hitting her. Fara're found the girl's red hair intreeging. She did not often meet people with that color of hair. But it was the girl's eyes that were most intersting. They almost looked as if a blazing fire burned within them. Had Fara're been in her tiger form she would have been able to smell the girl's scent. But as it was she had to rely on her eyes to take in the girl. She came to a quick conclusion, the girl was not human. What she was, she did not know. Nor did it really matter to Fara're. She herself was not fully elven, she had the blood of a lycant in her viens. "My name is Fara're" she said with a friendly smile. "Who might you be?" |

Getting to her feet with the proffered hand as the woman looked over her, Ligeia rubbed her buttocks. Her bow was more than strong enough to support someone sitting on the thing, but that didn't make it any more comfortable, especially when she hadn't meant to sit on it in the first place. Her eyes flashed an even brighter orange as she got up, but she couldn't blame the woman; gods, she'd done the same thing a million times before. Then again, she wasn't exactly the calm, cool, and collected type; more like aggressive, impatient, and strong-willed, actually. Come to think of it, she rather liked that last one; it had a ring of pride and power to it. "Ligeia," she replied in a slightly disgruntled voice that had more to do with the evening's events and her own miserable luck than any actual fault of of the woman before her. Fara're, she said her name was. It was an interesting name; it sounded primal and powerful, savage and brutal - but at the same time, beautiful and full of passion. Just for that alone, she liked the woman instantly. "You from around here?" It was more a formality than a question out of any real curiosity. She had a feeling the woman wasn't from around here. For one thing, most people from around here would have either thought that Ligeia had gotten what she'd deserved for having a few drinks and nearly starting a brawl (though that was a usual evening for her) or they would have laughed until they couldn't breathe at the sight of some poor girl falling flat on her butt. People around here were anything but homely, whatever people from the outside thought of small villages and towns. |

"Am I from around here?" she repeated. "No, I am not. I don't come to the cities often. I tend to spend most of my time in Norwood forest." She began to walk down the street again. She made a polite gesture with her hand as if to ask Ligeia to walk with her. She smiled at the girl showing that she more than welcomed the company. "What about you? You are obviously not from around here." ((sorry about crummy post. kinda brain dead right now)) |

((No prob.)) This was a city? What plane had Ligeia been on all this time? But she couldn't blame the woman; she didn't exactly seem like the "go out and socialize with the next-door neighbors at three in the morning" type. Then again, neither was Ligeia. In any event, she said nothing about that. She simply laughed at the woman's next question. Yeah...she could definitely understand why the woman would think she wasn't from around here; it wasn't hard to spot the all-too-obvious differences between her and the rest of the village idiots. "Actually, I am. I just don't have a stick stuck up between my cheeks and a rock for a head. For one thing, I actually know how to have fun. Gets me in trouble some of the time, but..." She shrugged. She wasn't really into sharing her personal problems with a complete stranger, even if she did like the woman right off. "So, what brings you to this particular corner of this particularly boring little weed its inhabitants like to call a town?" she asked, clearly not fond of the place despite not really wanting to leave it on a permanent vacation. It was her home, after all, whether she would admit that in public or not. |

Fara're smiled widely as Ligeia spoke. "Getting into trouble can sometime be the best way to have fun," she said. "I do that very often. It has won me a few powerful enemies in the past, but I have always proven to be the more skilled." She looked up as she heard a sudden yell. An orange cat ran into the street with a fish in its mouth a human close behind. "Give that back you little thief!" she yelled. The cat ran right for Fara're and hid behind her. It jumped up and caught onto her pack before burying herself into the folds of fabric. "ANd here is trouble personified," she said in an exasperated voice. "You!" the woman yelled pointing at Fara're. "Is that your mangy cat?! That filthy thing stole a fish from my shop! You have better pay up, or I will tell the authories!" Fara're cocked her head and looked at the cat who was now poking its head out of the back pack. "Mangy cat? You can't be talking about my sweet Rashwe, now can you. She is not mangy or filthy. Just young and hungry." she scratched the cats head as it let out a soft mew. "And tell the authories what? That a cat stole from you? She is just an animal trying to fend for herself...and then comes running to me when she gets into trouble." She sighed then dug into her coin purse. She pulled out a small silver coin and tossed it at the woman. "There, now go back to you work," she said. It seemed the woman was about to argue and demand more payment for the stolen fish, but then the look in Fara'res eyes told her that was not a good idea. Fara're thought the price humans demanded for food was outragious. She could catch five fish twice the size of the one Rashwe stole in under a hour, why did it take humans so long to hunt? With a loud 'harumph!' the woman tunred and left. Rashwe took her fish and jumped down to the ground before she began to eat. "This is Rashwe," she said to Ligiea. "She thinks I am her mother. She gets into more trouble than I can tell you. In fact her name means trouble in elvish. But I do love her." |

Ligeia watched as the cat came streaking around the corner and hopped into Fara're's pack, followed closely by a rather angry woman. Well, that was Karen for you. Always willing to kick a cat (or in this case, chase one through the streets) just for a single piece of silver. Actually, though, Ligeia couldn't help but laugh. She clapped one hand to her mouth as she watched the scene, then covered it with the other when she realized that wasn't helping. As soon as the woman was gone, though, she bust up laughing. She couldn't wait to tell this to the boys over at her favorite pub. "Yeah," she said, still laughing, "well, being kicked out of a tavern doesn't necessarily mean I won't come back. Besides, nothing ever happens when I do." There was no need to mention the fact that it was because the whole town was scared of her that they didn't bother trying to get rid of her more permanently. They knew she wouldn't burn a place down intentionally, but their thought was that she might do it 'accidentally on purpose' if she got kicked out of a place too many times. As it was, they kept a tight watch on her and did end up kicking her out of taverns every time they got the chance. They were just too bloody afraid to say she couldn't come back. "I've a bit of a connection with the felines of the Astral Plane myself. There's this one that keeps showing up. I like to call him Scrawny, even though he's really just a short-hair. He's nothing special, but he's cute and fun." |

Fara're looked to the girl in surprise when she mentioned the Astral Plane. She knew there was something different about this girl! Anyone who had connections to other planes was definelty different. After all everyone she had met from other planes were well...different. She cocked her head and looked at the girl, in a very cat like manner. "The Astral Plane?" she asked. "Is that where you are from? You can tell me. I have already figured out you are not human." She scratched Rashwe on the head. THe kitten looked up from her meal to mew and rub her head against Fara'res hand. The elf then looked back the Ligeia with a sly grin. "And if you let me in on your secret, I'll show you mine," she said. "I am not your average elf. But I am sure you knew that much already." She liked this girl. Well it was not hard for her to like anyone, but she liked this in particular. Somehow she reminded her or herself. Free spirited and unwilling to be controlled. That was good. But she needed to learn how to control her emotions a little better to keep from being attack by more than just the town guard. She glance to the girls bruised hands. The reason why they were bruised was because she was punching improperly. Maybe she should teach Ligeia how to fight properly when unarmed. But if she were going to train anyone, she would first need to know what they are exactly. And in turn let them know what she was. If that were to happen she would likely need to take the girl out of the city. People usually got a little upset when a weretiger was in town. |
