Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Many men were walking around the docks looking for traders or nothing. Three big, strong, and more than likely dangerous men were trapsing around. These men were probably pirates and just wanted to start some trouble. It wouldn't be long until they found a poor soul they could torement and torture.

As they walked they saw a refugee boat strole into the docks. The pirates ~all armed with little magic and large scimitars~ walked up near the stretched plank that connected the boat to the docks. Many women and children walked off ~most unarmed~ and very few men walked off. The pirates decided they could get some fun out of torturing some poor little peasents. Hopefully they picked the right one to pick on.

Darastrix was just arriving in the city of Taras. His dreams had come true. He wanted to come to the glorious city of taras for the simple reason that it was rich, Strong, and thriving with men and women. He was a refugee from a broken land and wanted a new start. He would travel from Taras to many other places in the world.

Darastrix continued to walk and saw some 3 burly men who had weapons of some sort. The men walked toward Darastrix with grins on there faces. Darastix spotted the men and tried to blend in with the crowd of refugees that had just gotton off of the boat.

Although He was manuevering very quickly and fast the Men would always be 3 meters behind him. Eventually the men caught up to him and Darastrix was already stuck in front of some crates as the men surrounded him.

What could Darastrix do? He didn't want to cause any trouble, especially with these men who could probably overpower him quickly. He backed up and eventually was pinned against the crates, hoping for someone to come along.

Now what was he going to do? He'd chased that damned thief all the way from the Norwood Forest, and now all he'd managed to do was take back the gold he'd earned from the stolen property. On the plus side, Kellen had probably never seen that much gold in their lives. It didn't solve the problem of the treasures they'd gained from friends, family, or their own hard work, but at least it gave them something they could use to better themselves. Tucking the gold into a deep inside pocket of his buckskin vest, he walked on through the strange port city.

It seemed to be some kind of haven for peasantry. He wasn't surprised; since the return of Balefire, everyone seemed to be forced out of their homes and into places like this. After all, crime was on a steady rise and there wasn't much that anyone could do about it. All anyone could do was hide, it seemed. The problem was that there were far too few a number of people like Argyle, people who actually cared enough to get out of bed in the morning and go hunt down some of the major thieves (and worse criminals) in the world.

People like those ruffians that seemed to be advancing on some poor kid. Of course, he didn't look much younger than Argyle, but still...

"Urk!" cried the first as a massive hand wrenched him back and threw him into a pile of fish in a large crate on the other side of the walkway. The second whirled about just in time to receive a blow that sent him flying off the dock and into the water. The third seemed to be cocky enough to stick around. He waved his cutlass and short sword as though they were some kind of dangerous things. Grabbing his mace apparently made Argyle a bit more frightening to the third pirate, but he stood his ground. He ducked and darted, dodged and weaved, stabbing and slashing at the massive barbarian - only to receive a light tap on the head from the mace after a couple of resounding clangs marked the blocking of the pirate's none-too-skilled attacks. Burly and rough he might have been, but he was just a common thug.

Putting his mace away, he dragged the pirate over to a crate and dropped him next to it. Argyle then turned to the other kid, the one that had been threatened by the pirates. His buckskin breeches, thick black boots, and vest might have been almost as intimidating as the barbarian himself, but it was his voice that tended to scare people when they didn't see him before he spoke. It was deep and strong, booming without any real effort. If he'd yelled, he could have made the whole city hear him.

"You okay?"

There might have been bruises he couldn't see. The kid was obviously scared, but Argyle had no idea if he'd already been attacked or not.

All Darastrix could do as the tall barbarian swung the mace and beating the pirates to a pulp. Darstrix watched the movements still pinned against the boxxes and crates. The giant turned to Darastrix and asked him if he was okay.

Darastrix then said "Uhh... ya im okay. Thank you, my name is Darastrix but you can call me Dara.... You have some pretty good moves with that mace of yours... I appreciate the help and..." Darastrix spoke but as he was looking at the barbarian he saw one of the pirates with his cutless standing behind the man and swinging.

Before the pirate fully swung Darastrix jumped up swinging his long sword and stopped the cutless. The pirate was overpowering him with strength but Darastrix quickly swirlled in a circuler motion ~still with his sword in place~ and was behind the pirate.

With a quick-move he stabbed the pirate in the back wounding him very baddly an d possibly killing him. After the stab he pulled out his sword from the body as it fell to the ground. Darastrix looked at the body and watched it as if it were getting up.

Darastrix's one eye began to tear up a bit and said "I must seem like a coward... I don't usually result to fighting none the less killing. I am sorry for you to see me like this..."

Darastrix wiped his eye and stopped tearing and looked back to the barbarian saying "Well you know who i am... Whats your name?" Darastrix just looked at the massive man waiting for an answer. What a twist in fait...

"Actually, a good fight can clear your head sometimes. But thanks...you just saved my life. My name is Argyle."

The man certainly didn't seem weak, but while one pirate was a nuisance, three were a problem. It took great skill to take on three of them - or, as in Argyle's case, one hell of a punch. The man had the look of one skilled with a sword, but Argyle doubted he could have taken on all three of the buccaneers without a problem.

The blood dripping onto the docks was something else, though. People were beginning to panic; it might not be a peasant's paradise, but at least it was safe for the most part. That safety apparently wasn't present just then. Not wanting someone to go to jail for self-defense, Argyle decided it was prudent to leave.

"Perhaps we should go. I doubt you can stomach the food they serve behind a wall of iron bars. Come on, I'll take you to a good inn; hell, I'll even buy you a drink to steel those nerves of yours. Was that your first kill?"

Darastrix was still looking at the man and he finally told him his name. Argyle.... It definatly fits the size and strength of him; he thought. Darastrix answered the giant by saying "Nice to meet you argyle. To be honest that wasn't my first kill. I'm a refuge and i fought in the war of my village. I think i could have a good beer thank you."

Darastrix looked as people panicked and a ladie was talking to 3 average sized guards. Darastrix quikcly said to Argyle "That lady is ratting on us lets go."He started to watch the guards as they moved closer.

And he walked off with Argyle to an inn. Not sure of which they were going they were just going somewhere.

They were both running along the streets trying to 'politely' push people out of there way so they could leave in time and not get arrested.

(sorry for the short post, i was going to get in trouble if i were caught being up so late.)

The two had managed to escape the guards down at the docks and were without breath as they previously were running like madmen. They panted and panted and tried to find a good inn to stay at and a good bar to have a drink at. As they were walking around Darastrix found a flier sayying the Song of Elves taverns & inn. Just what they needed.

Darastrix put the paper up in the air so that Argyle could see it. Simultainiusly(bad speller) They walked off in the distant, since they had seen it befor ~not knowing it was an inn~.

They were standing outside recapping and checking to see if they had all of there items. They didn't want to lose any equipment ~from the encounter with pirates~. Its off to the Song of Elves Tavern & Inn.

(yes we are moving to the song of elves tavern section in taras city. The name of the topic will be the same but labeled 'Reserved' and have a bar statement in the topic description. thank-you nailzy)

Noticing the lady was indeed ratting on the pair, he nodded and decided to lead the man away. Slipping through an alley between two large buildings at the edge of the docks and passing through a large crowd of hagglers and merchants, Argyle led his new companion to the other side of the docks and down the street. Entering the main part of town, he tried to think about which tavern would be best. Not the Flaming Goose, that was far too rough even for his tastes; he didn't fancy a brawl at the moment. He might have been able to win one, but he was a brawler only when need be. No, something a bit more pleasant was in order.

Of course, there were some places that no one in their right mind would go to unless they were a pompous ass. He hated those so-called 'inns' that had people placing countless gold pieces down just for room service. No, he'd much rather go to someplace like...

Ah, perfect. The Song of Elves...homely, comfortable, a bit rough in the evenings, but nothing to worry about. In short, it was perfect.

"Yeah, this'll do...come on, I'll introduce you to Wendy."

With that, they headed inside...
