Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Hymwen sat there, on a small slope so that she could look out at the shimmering lake that reflected the sun. One leg was outstretched, while the other, her knee was bent and one arm wrapped around it, and her head rested on her arm, green eyes looking at the still water. It was about noon, which gave her plenty of time before sundown. She was out of the potion that restraint her new side, her darker side, her wolf. She didn't want to become what she was now, it had all happened when she helped an elf woman from a small group of bandits. She cursed that day she decided to leave her home and track down the bandit group that had left the main camp.

Look where that day had gotten her, leaving in the daylight as an elf, and most nights as a wolf, at least, when her potion from a witch worked, but it often failed, but when it did, it often made her feel sick, but it was better then turning into a monster.

But she had gotten what the werewolf who changed her promised. She sensed things easier, and she could track things better, some things even became clearer, but she didn't cherish these things, to her, they were a curse, but, she wouldn't let that get in the way with her job as a ranger to protect the forest, though, those in her order didn't trust her much anymore, but she couldn't blame them.

She sighed, resting her other hand on the grass. Winter was coming so there was a brisk feel in the air, but she had a heavy cloak over her shoulders. She closed her eyes, wanting the daylight to stay forever, but it was a hopeless wish, especially with recent events, she bet that even in the light would cheer her for the future. Since Taras fell, it sent a gloom over everyone, a sadness always hung in the air.

She wondered when she should go see the ruins of Taras herself. How she wanted to help the refugees, but she was afraid to leave the forest, afraid that demons would come here and burn it down too. She shuddered at just the thought of it. If they did, they would pay dearly. This was her home, and she wouldn't tolerate monsters to come here.

Grumbling unintelligibly, and reopened her eyes, looking back at the water.
