Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Silendra sat upon a fallen tree among the haunted woods, some would be too fearful to venture here but she was not. Infact, she seemed perfectly at ease in such a scary location. A snake slithered along her arm and hissed venomously as it tasted the air with its forked tongue. Silendra's dark eyes had lost all sense of caring and compassion, something had happened to change her and she still bore the physical scars. But she refused to speak of it and it was a strong person who could broach her to speak on the subject, she hummed dangerously as she flicked a wickedly curved blade infront of her.

Eliel wandered the forest, Gwen by his side. He had just returned from Istan, from the ball with Lilith. He was in a cheery mood, uplifted from his recent bout and separation with Cordelia. Gwen was happy for him, rubbing up against him. Luriel bounced on his hip, he was otherwise unarmed, save for his gauntlet.

Patting Gwen on the head, Eliel chuckled. All cheery manner was lost, however, as he spotted a form, a dark elf! Eliel drew Luriel and bent down, giving Gwen orders to flank the drow woman. Never a good sign, lone drow. She could be a scout for a party. Unlikely, as they usually used males for such work.

Eliel shot Gwen a telepathic command and broke into the area at the same time as he did, coming up close to the drow. Eliel pointed his sword at her, squinting. “Stay where you are. State you intenti--” He stopped, nearly dropping Luriel as he recognized her. Sheathing the blade immediately, he blinked his topaz eyes, surprised.

“Silendra?”

Silendra barely flinched as the blade was held to her throat, then when it was sheathed she looked from Eliel to his young son. She met his topaz eyes, her gaze intense and seeming to bore into them. But he gaze was no longer the gentle, soft one it had once been but had become hard and cold. She did not sheath the blade she played with but merely kept it at a respectable angle so as not to threaten Eliel, at least not yet. "Ah, Eliel. It has been some time. I see you have been busy in my absence," she said, her voice cold and calculated. Her body was lithe and although it was obvious she had been through great hardship she was still strong and battle ready. Sheathed her blade she rested a hand on its hilt and studied Eliel for several moments "How curious to see you here. I had not expected to see you again, not after...," she stopped herself there.

Eliel watched her, then looked behind him. Nemael stood there, holding his dagger. Standing about three feet tall, Nemael had grown considerably since the two of them had left the tunnels of the underdark. Eliel had given him his darken dagger, allowing him to roam around the forest around their house with abel. Eliel didn't know what to think of her.

Eliel felt a rush of emotion. He began thinking of Lilith, wondering if he'd rushed it. Shaking his head, Eliel ran a hand through his hair. “Where did you go?” He said quietly, looking down. Gwen sniffed at her hand curiously, the umbra not having seen her in some time.

In the tone of Silendra's voice it was obvious she was reluctant to speak on that subject "That is neither here or there and why would you be interested?" Her gaze was fixed on him, unrelenting and dangerous "But I will say one thing it was most unpleasant." When Silendra moved to hesitantly hold out an arm to Gwen a vicious looking scar was revealed which ran the entire length of her arm, quickly she hid it and pretending it hadn't been there. The snake which rested upon her shoulder now fixed its reptilian eyes upon Eliel and hissed aggressively, Silendra stroked the snake's head to quiten it before looking back at Eliel and undertone of contempt in her eyes "I also see that you have made many friends while I was gone."

Eliel frowned at her arm. Something was definitely wrong with her. She seemed so much less... loving. Eliel observed the scar with a frown. She couldn't know about Lilith! Could she? Eliel bit his lip worriedly. “Because I love you. Why shouldn't I care?” He said worriedly.

Nemael walked over to her, white hair ruffled, green eyes shining. He walked to silendra's side, looking at her curiously. ”Nemael.” The boy said, pointing to himself. Eliel placed a hand on his shoulder, squeezing it lightly.

Looking at Silendra, Eliel looked to the side. “Silendra... i'm... seeing someone.” He admitted, biting his tongue.

Silendra smirked when Eliel said that he loved her and ignored the boy who greeted her. Her eyes grew narrow and her gaze deadly in its intensity "Love? Ha! There is no such thing as love and yes I know very well about your precious Lilith. Word spreads fast Eliel, even where I was taken," she rubbed her arm as it had begun to pain her again "But I should have expected as much from you." She drew her dagger and gripped the hilt tightly and did not take her eyes off of him. "You obviously cared little for me to move on so quickly, do not think you can hide your child there," she pointed out the little boy on Eliel's hip.

Eliel frowned at her. She wasn't acting at all like the silendra he knew. She doubted him, felt nothing for him. Eliel frowned at her as she spoke, hating her tone. It wasn't as if he were some irresponsible man who ran off and cheated on her. She had disappeared, left him without a word. He had been stuck for months, wondering where she went.

Finally he had settled down with Lilith, moving his feelings for silendra aside. He hadn't had a child with her, sil, Lilith, nobody. He had saved Nemael. He had been turned into a drider, asked Lloth for forgiveness, served an enemy house. He had turned it all away, sentencing himself to die again to save this child from needless sacrifice.

Eliel frowned at her, hand moving closer to Luriel's hilt. His gauntlet pulled nemael away from the woman, behind himself at the sight of the dagger. “What are you doing?” He asked. Gwen stepped back, fur standing on end along her spine.

Silendra smirked when his hand went to his own blade and she laughed "Ready to defend yourself as always I see Eliel." Her pet snake bared its venomous fangs and readied itself for battle "You may be familiar with the place I was held Eliel. It is named the Pit of Despair," she said and twirled the anger around a finger "Drow soldiers came for me in the night, they dragged me back to the Underdark and cast me there." She did not know why she was saying this, especially to Eliel but it all came out "there I was broken and beaten. You see they could not stand the softer side of me and were determined to stamp it out no matter the cost."

Eliel watched her untrustingly. Her tone didn't match at all. “Yes, I know the pit. I was thrown into the drider pits. I was forced to watch my sister die.” He said, eying her snake. The thing made him nervous, but he was perfectly sure he could slice the thing down the middle before it could strike him. Thankfully, if it did strike him, His angel had given him immunity against both fire and poison.

Watching her, he felt a sadness in his heart. “and what now? Are you here to kill me?” He asked her sadly. It would simply add to the count of women that had attempted to take his life.

The snake coiled itself about Silendra's arm protectively and flicked its tongue in Eliel's direction. "Kill you?" Silendra laughed "Oh no, that would be far too easy," for a moment she seemed to be struggling with herself but hastily composed herself "Ah then you know the pits, but you could not have suffered what I did. True, you may have been forced to watch your sister die but there are worse fates." She sheathed her blade "I shall not kill you, at least not yet. But it will not be long before he finds out that we have met again and forces me to make a move," she said and stroked her snake "believe me Eliel, times are changing in the Underdark and there are even more who wish you dead than before. My master has been watching you, it was he who took me."

Eliel watched her with cold eyes. Tapping nemael, he sent the boy and the umbra off to his tower, barring the door. He turned to silendra and shuddered. “Who is he?” Eliel asked. He didn't sound at all angry or jealous, not suspicious. He wanted the name of someone plotting against him.

Running a hand through his hair again, Eliel watched her with sad golden eyes.

She had no idea how true her words were. Neither of them did.

Glancing back to make sure the two were gone, Eliel looked back. “Are you going to leave now?”

Silendra watched him for several moments "Very well, his name is Viersez." She studied him for several more moments "But there is little you can do against my master, he is more powerful than anyone you have ever faced before. He hunts you without pause, I am bound to him by some dark spell of his. If he orders me to kill you, for example, there is little I can do to stop myself if I so wished. Unless of course one was able to break the spell, but believe me that is far from easy. Viersez is nothing if not through," she said. In response to his comment about her leaving she shrugged "Well, there is no reason for me to stay is there. My master will soon learn that I met you and he will not be pleased."

Eliel nodded at her. He'd have to remember the name. Curious, that it was a male. Working in secret, perhaps? Eliel knew several matrons who wanted him dead, but had no clue why a male would. The drow crossed his arms over his chest and watched her carefully. “Peace be with you, silendra.” He said formally. “I love you.” He said more quietly. Turning away, he walked back to his tower in silence.

Silendra called after him "Eraspeola Usreanac, you will not get away from me as easily as that," as quick as a fox she bounded after him and placed herself between him and the tower "You say you love me Eraspeola yet you have a wife and a child. Yet you did not once come looking for me. I learnt something during my time in the pits, love is a lie." She had not drawn her dagger, even though there was hate and anger in her eyes she had not drawn her weapon a sign that she still kept her sheer strength and personality. Only it had been warped and corrupted when Viersez forced her into his service, weaving his spell to make her swear alliegance to him.
