Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Brank splashed into some of the muddy slime water in the marsh. This was something entirely new to Brank, or so he thought, and so was enjoying splashing the muddy crap around, while pounding a small, well, small for him, 5 foot branch into the water. Laughing insanely when it splashed upwards, wetting him and anything nearby. Not that Brank cared, he was too stupid to realise than anything dangerous could live in the swamp.

"Glompy glompy! Sploshy splishy! Brank guffawed to himself as he splashed some more. The day was young, and there was still some trees to go and smash about. Getting up, Brank looked longingly down at his branch. It was only 5 feet long, but it was as thick as Brank's fist, which made it quite dangerous. Patting it down safely into the mud, Brank went to the nearest tree and punched it solidly, the wood snapping under his blow. Brank guffawed to himself again.

Vernon was thoroughly enjoying a lazy day of relaxation and peace, at least until the peace was disturbed with the smell and sound of an unruly intruder. A giant was apparently dumb enough to cross into his domain and play about like an idiotic toddler. Giants were one race better off left extinct. Still, there should be little problem rooting them out. Dragons were a far worse problem, yet he could handle those too. Vernon swiftly took off on bat-like wings, homing in on his target while making no attempt to mask his own scent.

It wasn't long before the creature came into view. It was a foot or so short of twice his height. It would certainly take more than the creature's size alone to aid the creature. Vernon land on a limb above the giant's full height several feet away. He was still in range of the giant's tree, though barely. Should the creature decide to become violent he'd have more than enough time to get out of the way. "How dare you defile my marsh with your presence? State your business here or prepare to die," Vernon demanded. He didn't expect the creature to be wise enough to give in quickly without any pain, but had plans to satisfy the giant's taste pain and self-mutilation. Perhaps the Giant ears would serve as delightful gifts to be given if the Giant decided to not play by Vernon's rules.

Brank's guffawing stopped as he looked around in surprise, expecting to see something smaller than himself on the ground shouting at him. However, the shocking view of a giant rat standing in the trees was even more surprising to him, and he stood there for a minute or two, just staring at the rat with his open mouthed, eyes still not believing what he saw.

"Your a flying rat." Brank laughed heavily at the little rodent, little in comparative to Brank's size. Having flown somehow onto the tree, the giant rat looked to be powerfull and strong, but Brank evidently though otherwise.

"You maek dis place feeel durty. But your cute." Brank laughed to himself, in what was a sort of giant giggle in a weird way. He then pent over and picked his 5 foot long stick up, and attempted to poke Vernon with it, laughing to himself the whole time.

Words seemed not to wrok aginst the overgrown idiot. He would have to speak in a language even one a limited in intelligence as the creature before him could understand. Vernon's hand pulled out the bladed whip at his side. A weapon of fear and pain. It would be more than appropriate to deal with the senseless giant. "I'm about to give you a new lesson in pain," Vernon grinned as he spun out of the way limb and simultaneously readied himself to strike with his whip. The branch wasn't terribly wide, but Vernon was good with balancing. His tail wasn't just for good looks. After evading the attack Vernon lashed his whip towards the giant's hand, ushering forwth a loud snap. Vernon doubted he would miss the larger target with his level of skill and like wise doubted the dumb creature held any arcane talent or power which meant, that wounds wouldn't be healing themselves as Vernon drew magical energy, but rather that his leech would focus upon giving Vernon the idiot's life force. Vernon might have to take to the air to avoid the creature's limb again, but he doubted there was anything the large creature could to stop Vernon from whipping him into submission.

Brank nashed his teeth together in annoyance as the rat-thing dodged his branch. What a nice branch it was too. Big and strong. Good branch it was. The whip slashed Brank's hand, cleanly whipping through his rugged skin and leaving a gash in his hand. It didnt effect Brank instantly, being slow and dull-witted made him take time before he realised he had been hurt.

Drawing his branch back, the pain suddenly jolted his hand, and it dropped into the mud with a sploshing sound, Brank rubbing his left hand while he shouted abuse at the rat, then realising his right hand was the one that hurt and swapped to rub his right hand.

"NOM! Crunchy rat. Why be mean? NOM!" Brank stomped in annoyance and anger. He had only wanted to hug the cute rat, and then poke it for fun, and then it whipped him. How mean.

(( OOC: Sorry for the wait Vernon. Can I come smash up the Academy of Magic now? :D ))

Vernon grinned at the pleasing sensation that came from Brank's pain. Vernon drew in the whip's end and sampled the giant's blood. It was delight and worth having just a bit more. Certainly he would taste better with a little decomposition. Perhaps the giant should die before making his exit after all. From this one alone all his pet's would have a feast worthy of their growing appetite and number. Vernon of course would also get his fair share as well. Vernon grinned at the though and licked of the last drop of Brank's blood.

Bringing himself back to the matter at hand, Vernon cracked his whip in front of the giant's face once the giant finished yelling. He purposely aimed away from the creature's face such that the creature was unharmed yet clearly heard and saw the crack of the hungry leech. Whips were such delightful tools of pain fear. "If you don't leave quickly, I'll show you just how mean I can be," Vernon grinned before cracking the whip as a warning once again.

(I guess, still not happy about it XP)
