| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

She found herself swimming in a lake and after quite a bit of looking discovered that she was the largest thing here. Alkyone had a bit of food while she was there, snacking on a few larger fish and the occasional clueless duck. After a failed attempt to find the lake she was looking for, and not wanting to visit the swamp in order to return to the sea, she went up on a little stretch of beach. There was mostly sand here, though there was a bit of mud and leaves and a few larger stones. She stretched out for a bit and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. The air was clear here and there was no salt in the air. The salt had also been washed from her coat from simply getting here. After a moment’s rest she sat up and shrugged off her seal skin, letting it pool on the ground around her as she brought her knees to her chest and looked out across the water. As she thought, she let her chin rest on her knees and she wrapped her arms about her legs. The weather was warmer then she had expected it to be. There were cities in this land nation. There would be someone there who would know how to get to The Lake of Darkness. There had to be one near such a lovely source of water, didn’t there. How did one go about finding a city? What she needed was someone she could ask… |

Fara're was lounging in the limbs of a tree when she saw a woman get out of the water. The air around this woman smelled odd to the weretiger. She figured the stranger was not human. The feline sat up and studies Alkyone for a few moments before deciding to go introduce herself. This new come was curious...and if something was curious Fara're just had to go investigate. With a soft rustle of leave the weretiger dropped out of the tree and landed on the mossy ground. She walked forward and smiled at the woman sitting next to the lake. "Hi there!" she chirp cheerfully. "Who might you be? I am Fara're." |

There was a sound behind her and she looked over her shoulder to see someone walking toward her. She tipped her head a little to the side and frowned for a moment until the stranger spoke, introducing herself. Alkyone gave a slight wave and smile in return. Straightening up she replied, “I’m Alkyone. A pleasure to meet you Fara’re.” For a moment she debated being straight forward and asking about the lake she was seeking, but that seemed a little too direct. A city, or even a village, would be a better place to start asking things like that. She rose to her feet after making sure her seal skin was wrapped about her securely to protect herself from the elements. With the fur towards her, she wasn’t going to become a seal. Alkyone didn’t even make a pretense to offering a hand in greeting and she had never seen that done before. Instead she gave a nod and asked, “Not to be rude or anything, but would you happen to know the location and directions to the closest town?” She had to refrain from calling in a land town. They were on land, so of course it would be a land based town. There were no mer-villages or sea elf towns in the middle of a land nation! |

The weretiger scratched her chin. Her tail swayed back and forth. "Looking for a town huh?" she said. "Well there is the elven village of Kellen near by." Fara're sniffed the air again. There was certainly a odd smell about the woman. At some point she would find out why that was, but did not want to ask the question of 'What are you?' That always seemed a bit rude to her. She took a seat next to Alkyone. "You said your name was Alkyone right?" she said with a smile. "If you want I will show you were the town is...but I can't enter it. My kind is not exactly welcome in towns and cities....well not in this form anyways." |

((OOC: It’s the Norwood Village that’s elven, Kellen is in the Debon Plains! ))Alkyone nodded once more, this time in affirmation of her goal. She didn’t recognize the name of the place or anything though. She returned to her seat as the weretiger took a seat. She found herself nodding once more as Fara’re spoke. “Why would it matter what you look like? Towns are towns are they not? Places where people do business, trade, and live? I’ve been to all sorts of places before that had all sorts of different looking people there. Did someone cause trouble there perhaps?” She didn’t know enough about these land places obviously. Perhaps she should take a moment to find out more about where she was going before getting there. Just to be safe of course. It was always better to play it safe and find out you didn’t need to be so careful then to risk making a mistake because you didn’t know any better. She had never been around many of the land based creatures and this one didn’t look or act like the humans in Grandmother’s story, but she needed to be careful after all. Losing her seal skin would be a horrible thing. From what she knew, it couldn’t be destroyed or even used by anyone but the one who owned it, but she didn’t want to not be without it… She held it tight about her, but not because of the soft and cool breeze that made its way across the lake. |
