Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

It had been a night of calm and elegant music that came from the busy inn. Most nights were the same as the same bard had been passing through day by day. The people seemed to love him, his harmonica rang through out the small village as if to bring life to those feeling sad. The lights from the inn were lightly faded on this night and most people were just passing through looking for a place to rest. The innkeeper left the door open to send in a nice calm cool breeze of the lovely fall weather. The stars were aligned just over head as the clouds were nowhere to be found as the full moon made them sparkle ever so more. It was just starting to get late when a loud bang came from another small business owned tavern across the way. A loud yell came from inside as a drunk tumbled out the door. He began to slur his words as he spoke,

"You...can do....tis...to me. I was only having......sum..fffff....fun."

His slurred words ended with a horrific studder as a dark figure watched from the rooftops. The figure had been here for days, he had spotted a Tiefling weeks ago and her scent was about the village. She had exceptional promise in her prowess for battle. Draco was curious, plus lucky for her he was in the mood to chat, possibly with his blade...

Kalia remained in the shadows as she looked at the tavern's door. This was the first really town she had been in since she arrived in Imythess. Due to her demonic heritage she prefered to remain hidden, it kept her out of trouble.

But now she decided to was time to step out of the shadows. If she was going to make it in this world she would have to live in the light, not in the dark. As she made her way towards the tavern and drunk stummbled out. He first seemed surprised to see her standing there, then decided that it was luck.

"Whats...a ....lass like yourself doin' hear?" he managed to slur before reach out to grab her. The drunk seemed to think she was some sort of weaking he could take advantage of.

She sighed and rubbed her forhead with hand. Why did thinks like this always seem to happen to her? Her eyes did not even turn red as she deftly grabbed the man's wrist. With an easy flick and a twist she sent him flying. Steel rang through the night and she drew her blade and placed its tip at the drunk's throat.

"Try that again and I will removed your head from your shoulders," she said coldly.

She did not wait for a responses before slidding she blade back into its scabbard and heading inside. As she walked inside she got a few looks. Many did not seem to regonize what she really was, perhaps they just though she was an odd looking elf with blue hair and silver tatoos. A few though did seem to know what she was and made a point to avoid eye contact.

The tiefling took a seat by the bar table and ordered a class of wine.

Draco drew his attention to the drunk once more as he bumped into a young girl who seemed as though the one Draco was looking for. She began to get ruthless on the drunk as he went to grab her. Draco lightly smiled at her quick intention of showing off and lightly spoke under his breath,

"Seems like she doesn't like to play with others eh?"

Draco chuckled at himself a bit as he watched her slide the blade back into her sheath. Draco's cold silver eyes gleamed lightly as he watched from the rooftop of the tavern. His eyes followed her as she proceeded to the tavern door. Draco's mind was free now ready for any possible fight and or confrontation to take effect. He looked at the people in the tavern from the sunglass window above. Some of the people were frightened to ask what she was and others already knew. Her blue hair was nicely wavered to her back and she seemed to have a few tattoos. Draco seemed to catch a glimpse of a light black tip on her back shoulder, something this young woman wanted hidden. Draco knew nothing of her and yet was still interested in tangling her roots. He checked for the lights inside as the dimmed down to his comfort.

Peached in his position his knees flexed their muscle to do his bidding as he jumped down in front of the tavern door. His black cloak was lightly tinted with a red as he slowly made his way in and looked around. He spotted her at the bar as he calmly sat near her at the bar and gave out a light scratchy voice from the night's cold weather.

"Hot tea...Please."

He lightly lifted his right arm onto the counter as he slowly began to count under his breath, lightly.

"1....2...."

He paused and looked to the tiefling now as he smiled and then before he wentto say three he was interrupted by the bartender,

"Want sugar?"

Draco waved it off as a no and waited patiently for the Tieflings uncertainty. He hoped she though he was just another bum looking for some excitement..

As Kalia sipped her wine she though she felt a somewhat familar presence. She had felt it twice before and now she was getting that feeling again. Her purple eyes flitted to the vampire who was now smiling at her.

She showed no emotion as she studied him. He had the stance of a fighter, she guess he might even have the same skill with a blade that she did. Indeed he wore a blade on his hip quite easily.

She knew he was a vampire soon after she laid eyes on him. Have already met two of the creatures, she knew what that pale skin ment. She took her glass of wine and slowly made her way towards him.

As she got close she stopped at stared at him for a few moments. "What do you want?" she asked bluntly. "And why is one like you showing himself in puplic. I though your kind prefered the darkness," she added softly so only he could hear.

She said this to show that she knew good and well what he was. But also her tone of voice told that she would not reveal this to the partons, yet.

The bartender kindly walking over too him lightly set the cup on the counter as he looked to the girl beside him. He lightly mumbled under his breath. Something about the two of them being freaks seeing as how there was a tiefling near him. She seemed quiet interesting in her own manner and seemed to be able to hold her own ground. He lightly nodded to the tender as he gripped the cup. His white strong hands lifted the cup as he drank the hot tea, the liquid work it self down his throat with a nice warmth that filled his body. Placing the cup down lightly turned the tieflings way and replied,

"Want?" He asked almost filled with laughter as a smile hit his face.
"What the real question is, what do you want? Your alive a living why bother asking a man that has nothing to loose what he wants?" His words hit those around him harsh as he waited to she her reaction. His slowly lifted the cup once more as he drank another sip of his tea.

"Darkness is something were comfortable in, not all of us stay contained in those walls. I am what I am. Heh, black has been my favorite color for too long."Draco was lightly rambling on about simple things that never mattered, not even to him his purpose there was to fight her. He wanted to test her skills at her art of blade. He had been impressed once perhaps when he fought her he'd be just as impressed as watching. Although the orders were to kill her he wasn't in the mood. He cared not for the gold nor the rep. Who needs rep when your a vampire? Draco lightly setting the white cup down ordered another. He turned his head and spoke, "Your name?"

"What do I want?" she asked repeating his question. "There has only been one thing I have ever truely wanted in my life...and it was not too long ago I took what I desired by force," she answered bluntly.

Her purple eyes glared down at him, and fire seemed to burn behind them. Any normal man would be shaking in his boots if he looked into such eyes, but this was no normal man.

"I don't like it when men stare at me from across the room and don't think I have not noticed your eyes watching me for quite some time. I repeat my question. What is it you want with me?"

Her hand rested easily on her sword showing both that her patience was thin and that she was not afraid to draw steel. She did not know what his plans were, but she somehow got the feeling that things might end in a fight. If that did happen she would want to take it outside to a secluded place. A vampire and a tiefling fighting in a bar would bring way too much attention.

Draco lightly turned his head towards the bartender and nodded in acknowledgment. The bartender's service was the best Draco had seen in years, he even kept a smile every time he took an order from the rest of the crowd that hurtled in at late hours. Draco quickly returning his attention to tiefling lightly shook his head in a disappointing manner.

"What I want from you?" Draco lightly chuckled with a cruel grin.

"It's simple really, the contract here states..." Draco stopped as his left hand reached into his pocket. Grabbing onto a rolled up long scripture, took it out of his pocket. He then quickly snapped his wrist in a freely twisting motion as the rolled up scripture dropped. CONTRACT written in big letters at the top, a contract to kill her. Draco lightly turned his head to his tea and took a sip as his right hand reached out for it. After feeling the nice smooth, softness of the tea, he placed the cup back on the counter, then looked to the tiefling and spoke,

"The contract states that a slave owner wants you dead, for big bucks I might add. Must be proud a little one like you gaining a reputation from a former slave owner. Slaves a disgusting terminal state of life, personally I don't need the money, just the entertainment of fighting one who can stand there own. I've been waiting for a decent being to kill, however the man the contract was for I killed in my own respects to the definition of slave."

Draco pause and then spoke once more,

"Although death won't meet you today, I must test your abilities, don't take it rudely just I've held the contract for so long I at least want to fight the target, I mean you."

Draco smirked as his right hand lifted to his hilt at his back as he lightly skimmed his fingers about the pearl jewel in his hilt, soon they would test one another, not only mentally, but physically..

As Kalia read the contract her eyes changed from their bright purple hue to a deep red. Her red eyes glared at Draco.

"So you are a bounty hunter," she said simply. She looked at the contract again. "It seems that they came after me quicker than I expected. Looks like me killing my 'master' was not enough of a deterant to keep away from me."

She locked Draco into a deadly stare. If a look could kill, hers would have slain everyone in the room. Other patrons seeming to feel the tention backed away from the pair afraid to get in the middle of some fight.

Kalia had waited nearly 200 years for her freedom. And she was not going to let some vampire take that from her. No one was going to take her freedom away from her.

"I will give you only one warning. Leave and never try to fullfill this contract again...or you will have the same fate as my former master. Am I clear?" she said in an icy cold voice.

Draco watched as her eyes turned a deep red His mind going through what he had recently said. The taking the last sip of his tea he looked at her. His cold Blue eyes turned to a deep silver of hate as he the eyes were locked perfectly. His eyes never left hers as hers never left his. The bartender step away quickly as he slammed himself into the liquor bottles behind the bar. His nervous veins making him sweat as he watched the two. Draco quickly slamming the cup down onto the counter as the glass cracked down the middle. His hand left the cup and slowly it crumbled from the vibration about the counter. His eyes still on the tiefling spoke with a vicious tone.

"My dear, I suggest you change your attitude or else i will fulfill it. As for me being a bounty hunter, your wrong. If you were listening I said I would like to test that little temper of yours. Not kill it my dear."

Draco's voice slithered throughout the pub's hard wooden walls as the others took a deep breathe and were stuck in shock due to Draco's malicious look under his hood. His eyes were silver with a intent unlike any other beings a intent to mercilessly kill, succeed and hold true to what needed to be done.

"If you would like to settle this the hard way I suggest you take it up with the slave owners, that easily can be said were previously keeping you against your free will. I am not here to kill you, simply to test your formality. I go back say I couldn't kill you and they never hire me again. I'm saving your little temperamental body."

Draco still fiddling with his hilt with his right hand lightly smirked towards the brave tiefling. He almost chuckled at her comment. Looking stern and serious like always Draco waited for the tiefling to re check herself, and quickly..

Kalia scoffed at what he said. "You want to test me? I am a former Doomguard. Do you can not even begin to understand what that means," she said coldly.

Her anger was boiling under her calm exterior. It would not take much now for her to simple slice the fools head off. But then again that would just cause her quite a bit of trouble doing that with a room full of witnesses.

She tossed her head sending her long hair flowing out behind her. Her hand still tightly gripping her sword. She did not really believe the just wanted to test her. He might even have back up ready to apprened her. But if that happened...she would just use her newely aquired portal gem.

"Fine then. You have managed to tick me off enough to play your little game. I will battle you. But not here, there are too many who will get in the way," she said.

Draco looked her over he knew he pushed her a bit overboard. He then thought whats a fight without fighting a hundred percent. Draco's silver eyes still and ready watched for any quick movements. He could kill her right at this moment, although he cared not for killing her she made her own way to freedom something Draco respected among humans. You gotta take everything in life not wait for it. Draco knew from experience.

"A doom guard, huh?"

Draco noticed her temper was lightly drowning in anger as he smirked her way. He waited for her next reply and he spoke back.

"Your right smashing your head into the stone well outside here will prove to be a greatly entertaining."

Draco grinned as he looked up and jumped onto the counter and out of the sunglass window as he stood on top of the roof of the tavern. Draco smirking waited for the previously doom guard.

Kalia let out a humorless laugh as he said something about smashing her head into a wall. She doubted that would happen. After all she was not breed for war for nothing.

The tielfling followed the vampire outside. She turned to face him and slowly drew her sword out of its scabbard. The sound of steel rang through the night air. She held the sword with one hand and pointed it at Draco.

"Lets get this over with," she said a calm voice. The voice of one who had seen much battle.

Draco Looking to her watched as she released her blade. It would have been nice to say that she knew what she was getting into, but in fact she had no idea. She may have seen battle but that's what Draco's life was simple pure fighting. He was a expert at tactical stratigraphy, he could observe a area and use everything around him very well. His movements were fast and his strength was usually hard to bare with. His spells were in process, but none the less deadly. He was breed for this and soon the tiefling would know of his wrath.

Draco observed the nice long blade as she held it pointing at him. He was impressed with the fine edges of the blade and liked the fact she could hold her own in a sword fight. Her hand was tightly gripped around the hilt which Draco knew showed a slight weakness in her formation. Draco Quickly lifting his right arm unsheathed his blade as well as he held it nice and elegantly as he stroked the air lightly with the fine steel blade. Draco smirking spoke,

"If you want it over quickly, why we fighting my dear? No I'll make sure you won't forget the vampire that almost killed you, Draco!"

Draco sprung to life as his blade was sent in a upward motion. His wrist slightly turned to the left forcing her blade to the side. He did a excellent parry. Doing so Draco slide his blade down to her hilt as his left hand quickly stretched out for her neck. Hopinh to sink his fingers into her neck would toss her off the rooftop. If she was quick to move, he had already thought of his next motion..

Kalia was purposefully holding her blade too tightly. And her ploy seemed to have worked. THe vampire noticed it and seemd to think that it was weakness. If she had a weakness like that she would have been dead a century ago. But no, one does not serve on the field of battle for 150 years and live if they have such an obvious weakness.

"Time to dance," she whispered to herself.

And dancing seemed to be what she did. Her blade moved in an elegant smooth arc to block the on coming blade. Her demonic nature gave her the strength need to hold that block. At the same time she side stepped with such grace that any dancer would envy her.

As she passed by Draco she pointed a finger at him with her free hand. She reach down into the demonic powers and felt the magic within her. The power formed on the tip of her finger before shooting out a searing orb aimed right for Draco's side.

All this while she blood red eyes looked for any weakness he might have, so she could exploit it. That is what she was trained for after all.

Quickly feeling the restraint in her arms from the black Draco closely watched as his free hand followed her other hand. Tapping her arm to the side he maneuvered around the orb she tried to hit him with. All the while his blade slid off hers as he twisted out of the way. Draco's left hand felt a deep pulse as he smirked. She was good and she seemed to make the tightened hold as a ploy. Draco Grinning lightly lifted his blade to his chest as he watched her elegant form of what was known as Shadow dancing. A form in which was incredibly deadly. Draco was impressed as she showed her form of dance easily and well. Draco was flawless in his escape and showed no signs of weakness in his form.

Draco felt the shingles underneath his boots sink in deeper as the roof wasn't that sturdy. Draco watched intently as his silver eyes gleamed about the everlasting night and spoke,

"A beautiful and deadly style my dear."

Draco knew that the fight would prove to be fun and possibly challenging at the most.
