Last time Fehade was found here, he had met Aether Draka, she had been so hungry then, that he didn't get much out of her then, and he had been disgusted with her, he didn't respect her at all then, mainly because she had been trying to eat a dead human he killed. He couldn't stand cannibalism, it was disgusting, it had to be the only thing that really got to him, he didn't understand how there were freaks out there that ate humans and other humanoid creatures, it was unnatural to him. Sure, he could kill people in a gruesome way if he had too, he just wouldn't drink their blood or eat them. He walked along the rode through the marsh. Behind him walked his nightmare Evier, who was in her true nightmare form instead of the human. The nightmares black coat with sleek, and her mane and tail were flames. Her eyes held the intelligence of a human as she clomped along behind her master. Fehade didn't have much of a reason to be here, basically just passing through, but Mara did tell him if he found any artifacts or anything, to bring them to her. Which he would, matters what it was. He walked in his true form for a change, well, slightly. He had red leathery skin, his black hair to his shoulders, and jet black. His eyes piercing red. Horns protruding from his head, but they were small. He had his wings folded against his back. If he noticed anyone ahead, he would change, and have Evier go into her normal horse form, but the roads appeared to be completely empty. No one must come this way much, they must all be afraid of the rumors. He had heard them too, of a ratlike beast ruling the marsh, but when have rumors stopped him? His boots hit the ground with light thuds, his katanas hitting his sides lightly. His gaze stuck on the stretch of road before him, the bright red dimming slightly, a growing bored look falling in them. |

One didn’t know a man until he walked a mile in his shoes. If that were true it certainly explained how Vernon could tell so much about a person by tasting their feet. It was such a tattling limb. It gave off such a wide array of scents and tastes labeled foul by most. Vernon could tell roughly what the poor ate, how active it was, and how good a runner it was, though all of this was deciphered better from a fresh foot. The human foot Vernon was licking was quite far from fresh; instead it was clearly decayed, having both maggots squirming in it and fungi growing on it. Vernon enjoyed the delightful tasty disembodied leg he held as he slowly flew through the air with his bat-like wings, until sounds from below disturbed the night’s peace. He heard hooves and boots plodding against the road. Looking away from the leg, which had formerly captivated his attention, he saw in the distance a burning light. It was too large to be a torch and not likely a congregation of torches or a flaming wagon for that matter. As Vernon drew closer and distracted himself form the lovely scent of the rotted leg, he could better identify the scents of the intruders. The smell of brimstone was suffused with both, a common train among fiery creatures. One appeared to be a horse, while the other appeared to be a mere human with a strong bond to a pit fiend. He was unfamiliar with the strange type of horse, though it was the demonic infused that caught his attention. It was probably some member of the Divschatten giving him a visit. That meant he was off the menu, but not off the play list. Vernon swooped down as silently as his wings would allow and not long afterward landed in front of Fehade, still licking the foot as if it were some overgrown misshapen lollipop. As he swooped in for his landing his dreaded stench heralded his coming. After landing, his large bat-like wings at his back settled into a filthy looking cloak. “Your answer might be the difference between life and death. Are you with the divschatten?” Vernon asked. If the answer was no he’d probably kill the man, and if the answer was yes, he’d play with the poor soul and maybe end up with another Divschatten slave like the simple-minded werewolf he had wound about his finger. |

Fehade continued to walk, grumbling some things under his breath, mainly curses. But then the sound of silent wings brought his attention to more of the things around him. He came to a stop, and glanced around the marsh around him, then, a ratlike creature landed before Fehade and his nightmare. He wrinkled his noise at the terrible, and to prove Evier didn't like the noise, she seemed to snarl at the rat creature, and stomped her hoof. Fehade looked at Evier, and waved a hand to quiet her, and she instantly did. He returned his gaze to the rat. “Your answer might be the difference between life and death. Are you with the divschatten?” How did the rat know of the guild? Well, since the guild did attack Taras, most people came to notice the guild, but even if he said no, he could probably kill the creature easily if it tried to attack, but, he figured it wasn't that much of a secret. Fehade nodded once. "Yes, I am with the Divschatten." The tiefling asked, his eyes seeming to grow cold. "Why does it matter to such a foul creature?" He asked, one hand resting on the hilt of his katana in a relaxed manner. He glared down at the rat, his eyes noticed the foot finally, and he frowned ever so slightly in disgust as the rat licked it. But he tried hard not to show emotion to it, though, but creatures that eat people, makes him quite disgusted, cannibalism was not hit favorite thing, and the rat wasn't helping. |

Vernon noticed that both the flaming mare and infused half-demon were quite irritated, but it was no surprise, as well as of little importance. Vernon was both annoyed and delighted to hear that the infused was a part of the guild. It meant that he would have to avoid killing the half-demon and his stead, but also that he had the opportunity to test the mettle of another member of the guild. Hopefully he’d fair better than Brahms, who hadn’t managed to arm him in any fashion. That foolish incompetent werewolf desperately needed his guidance, but the guild couldn’t possibly be composed only be composed of losers. “Pity… I was in the mood to kill some trespassers, but I like the Divschatten’s work and wouldn’t like to lower their numbers. I’m quite amazed you managed to raze the entire city and keep my sewers mostly intact. The rubble makes for a very nice touch,” Vernon replied almost jovially. “But, I digress, who are you half-demon? And why do you trespass through my marsh?" Vernon asked sternly. He then waved his hand at the slightly overgrown road. Vernon wished there was no road at all, but was simply to lazy to take measures to remove it, aside from scaring off those seeking to use it. "This road is vile stain upon my beloved marsh and your use is only making it worse,” Vernon growled before biting off the little toe and the toe nearest to it. The delightful crunch of bones sound as Vernon bit down as he crunched the toes between his teeth with his mouth opening wide enough for the half-demon to see the contents inside. He’d push the half-demon to the edge, but first he might as well learn a bit more about the infused’s intentions. It obviously wasn’t some fool who had taken up a bounty against him or else he would have already attacked rather than merely stay his hand on his weapon. Maybe he could learn something useful before play time started. |

Fehade kept silent as the disgusting creature spoke. The tiefling still hadn't gotten over the smell, but who could. The Divschatten had destroyed Taras, and he took a little part of it. Sure the whole portal thing of demons pouring out caught him by surprised, but he wasn't really understanding why the other members were so angered by it, Fehade did hate being used, but there wasn't anything he could really do, until he and Rraezanon gets more power. So what? The rat owned the sewers too? Mara had told him about the "Master of the Marsh", and she had wondered if the rat would go to Taras too, but not even she had seen the rat with her own eyes, but she believes in things better then Fehade. “But, I digress, who are you half-demon? And why do you trespass through my marsh? This road is vile stain upon my beloved marsh and your use is only making it worse,” Fehade's eyes narrowed as the beast took a bite off the foot, and the crunching noise, and he bit his tongue slightly, to keep himself from snapping out and end up starting a fight here in the middle of the road, even if it was like never used. And sides, he wanted to save his strength for another time. "I am coming through here on business. If you have a problem with it, take it up with Mara. He said, his voice clearly sounding annoyed, and almost impatient, wanting to get through here quickly and complete his job. |

Mara? Did that name ring a bell? Perhaps he had heard of it somewhere before. Perhaps it was amongst the assassins he rooted out of his sewers. Who ever she was, Fehade had managed to draw Vernon’s attention to her and his Business, rather than dissuade it with its lack of description. Vernon probably wouldn’t have been very interested at all if it weren’t for the infused trying to be secretive. "Business, huh? I you don't tell me of this business and your name, you wouldn't pass through my marsh in any favorable shape. If you don't like talking I can always drag you back to Mara and take it up with her as you suggest. I'm sure she'd be elated to hear you failed merely because you failed to pay proper respects," Vernon snickered while chewing the toes, causing small pieces to be spit out. Vernon’s mocking joy seemed to mirror Fehade’s annoyance. “Be good about it and I might even aid you on this job, rather than stand in your way,” Vernon added before biting off the remaining three toes with another sickening crunch. He doubted it would help ease the infused’s tongue but it was worth a shot. Accompanying the infused would be a delightful way to see him in action, though it might be fun to rough him up a bit before letting him continue on his mission for Mara. |

Fehade averted his eyes from the foul thing as it continued to be deliberately disgusting. He was annoyed at himself for letting his disgust show that well. Oh, how he wanted to shop the thing to pieces and feed it to his felines, though, they also may be thoroughly disgusted with it too. He returned his gaze to the rat, eyes hardening almost daring the rat to drag him back to Mara. Sure, she would be angry, but when isn't she with Fehade? But he somehow even doubted the rat could even beat him in a fight, if it ever came to one. It was Mara's secret to keep, not his about her business. "I am called as Fehade. My business is to collect artifacts for the wench." He said, eyes narrowing slightly. He glanced at Evier who was getting impatient again. Fehade then flinched slightly, upon hearing the cracks of more toes being eaten off. He glanced quickly at the rat. "Sorry, rat, but I need no aid. I work as alone as I can." Technically, he never worked alone, seeing has he had a demon infused to his soul, then Evier who always comes with him on jobs, mainly to keep watch and take care of the equipment, and to do the shopping, seeing as Fehade wasn't very welcomed in all towns, and he hated hiding all the time. "So, are you going to keep me here for hour after hour, patronizing me? Or should I cut you down now and be on my way?" The tiefling said, his voice basically a growl. |

It was clear both Vernon’s words and snacking were getting under the poor soul’s skin. But it was also clear that Fehade was taking measures to keep himself from simply letting his blade deal with his foe. Good, at least some among the guild had some level of self-control, though Vernon did insult ever fiber of Brahm’s being before the werewolf was inspired to fight. Even so, Vernon expected to inspire Fehade into action much sooner than it took to inspire Brahms, though in fairness his meeting with the werewolf had started as a friendly one. When then infused gave his name, Vernon was reminded of where he had heard of Mara from. She was a wanted criminal just like Fehade, who often was accounted as talking about his master. When Fehade said he liked to work close to alone, Vernon chuckled, but when the tiefling spoke of cutting him down, Vernon burst into laughter. A few crushed bones were expelled to the ground before Fehade as he did so. “You cut me down?” Vernon snickered. “Come now, it will take more than a lackey of Mara to take me on, particularly the lackey she claims is most pitiable,” Vernon grinned as he licked his chaps. He didn’t know of Fehade’s relationship with Mara, but it seemed he didn’t like her much and it was no doubt she though similarly of him. “You will have tell me why you bother stooping so low as to work for her while we walk, after all for tonight as alone as you can happens be include me,” Vernon grinned as he waved his waved the foot invitingly in the direction of the road before Fehade. While waiting for Fehade to get a move on and join him. Of course there was the possibility could voice his displeasure with his blade, though Vernon had something for that too. |

Fehade's red eyes narrowed as he watched the rat laugh, but he could barely continue to look at pieces of the foot in front of Fehade. Fehade, he could crush someone easily, tear someones eye out and not flinch, break a person bones and not flinch, anything, but seeing even a rotted foot being devoured, by any creature disgusted him, one reason why Fehade didn't agree with Rraezanon on the vampire discussions they had. "Lackey...?" He hissed. Yes, he supposed he was close to that, but he really didn't like the word. They were merely old "friends" helping each other, while most likely plotting to cut each other down given a chance. He continued to give the rat a cold gaze, considering to draw a katana and kill the thing already, but Rraezanon decided then to protest, saying that the creature could become a nice ally, which annoyed Fehade greatly. He wanted no friends and no allies, he didn't need them. “You will have tell me why you bother stooping so low as to work for her while we walk, after all for tonight as alone as you can happens be include me,” He growled under his breath. The rat wasn't going to leave him til he was out of the marsh most likely. He kept himself from complaining. The faster he moved on down the road, the sooner he could get the hell out of here. He started to walk forward, to the rats side, but maintained a safe distance away. He wasn't very enthused to talk to a rat creature like this, but Rraezanon wanted too. "I wouldn't say its... stooping low. I give her the artifacts, and she gives me power." He said, his voice with no emotion. |

It was easy to tell the words stung, just as if his hiss was the sound of them sizzling into his skin. He repeated the word lackey, but made no attempt to deny it or that he was seen as pitiable by her. It certainly served to lessened any effect Fehade's gaze might have and turned it in comical light. Sure Fehade might be a powerful lackey as his bond suggested, but the half-fiend was still a lackey. But anyone content to call themself that didn't stand much a chance against Vernon. He was Pestilence after all. He was servant to none and scion of Anarchy and oblivion. "What kinda of power? Sounds to me that she gives you the crumbs in return for fetching the bread like a good like boy. I'm sure you know well enough that the power she offers you is far less than the power of the artifacts themselves. Maybe you content yourself with doing her bidding because you lack the brains to find these artifacts yourself or even figure out how to use them," Vernon snickered as he walked. Vernon wondered if he could kick Mara off her high horse and take her place over Fehade. Vernon could use a hired hand around, particularly an amusing hired hand. Perhaps he could even get both of them as hirelings and take advantage of Mara's knowledge or artifacts. Artifacts made nice toys and maybe she could help find something. He wondered if he could probe deep enough into Fehade's life to make him go berserk like he did with Brahms, but no Fehade didn't seem to be so social a creature and would likely need an extra push to be stupid enough to fight "And less importantly where exactly are we headed to tonight, seeing as I'm sure Mara is smart enough not to try and steal trinkets from my Marsh?" Vernon asked as he chewed the delicious decayed meat he was snacking on Any relics to be taken from his marsh would certainly have manage to be lost along the way. The marsh was his along with all it's content's both living an inanimate. If Mara sought to steal from him, she would later deeply regret even thinking the idea. |

He growled under his breath. "I'm not an idiot, rat. I know what I get in return and even though its little, it still helps me get a step closer. And I do not lack the brains to find where artifacts are. So how about you just keep laughing, and see how long it takes me to chop you into dinner for my pets." He said, speaking of his two felines that often hung nearby, lurking in the shadows unnoticed. As he had spoke, he looked straight ahead, eyes showing that he was pretty much serious about that, but he knew that he should underestimate a sentient creature, like he rat. He smirked slightly. "Mara has no interest in your marsh, or the things you keep in it." He said, and grimaced slightly. "She believed the rumors of you, and wouldn't ever try to steal." He said. Mara always hated the word steal, she preferred the term "taking back what is rightfully hers", though, it was clearly stealing, from the dead, seeing as Fehade never let many live. He walked on, his feet barely making any sound as he went. The wings on his back shuddered slightly, before basically disappearing and Fehade's skin changed to a pale, near white look. "And I'm, headed to a small cabin outside of the marsh. Supposedly a mage of nature lives there." The tiefling said, voice still cold. |

“You should mind your tongue, minion of Mara, or I may have to claim it as my own. Tiefling’s tongues have a delightful taste seasoned by the grace of the abyss. And of I’m sure your pets would rather avoid seeing their master mutilated and out classed,” Vernon snickered. It wasn’t a cold threat, but more of a jovial promise. He’d leave the teifling with his tongue of course but might make claim some other par of his body other perhaps take a memoir from one of the many pets that followed this loner. Perhaps the nose or ears, which would still leave him functioning senses. Vernon had of course been aware of Fehade’s pets. It was easy to tell the scent of creatures foreign to his marsh. Vernon disliked cats, though by no means feared them. “I still don’t why you stay content with small steps while giving great leaps, rather than taking the leaps yourself. It’s a bit much to do for someone who doesn’t even like you, but to each their own. I’m just glad she’s smart enough to know her place,” Vernon grinned. It was hard to tell if he was trying to defend Mara or himself. It wasn’t as easy a matter break apart as were Brahms, issues, though the issue had certainly gotten Fehade heated. Vernon would attempt to leave it be for now, until he could learn more of this Mara. “I do believe I know who you are talking about. He has strange plants that protect his cabin. He has a few magic trinkets, though I don’t recall finding any strong enough to be called artifacts. I’m sure we’ll have a good bit fun paying him a visit,” Vernon said as if jovially, ignoring both Fehade’s cold nature and his spoken desire to go alone. Apparently Fehade wished to not appear as an utter monster when meeting the mage, Vernon decided to similarly change his appearance. Vernon’s fur receded into long untamed brown hair as his features became more like those of a wild elf. The foot he snacking on was the only thing de him look particularly strange, but he would away when the time came. |

As the rat told him the tiefling should mind his tongue, he merely growled in annoyance under his breath, and could barely contain his anger any longer. He looked straight ahead, clenching his teeth, eyes burning with annoyance, and his fist closed and opened over and over again. Out classed? Fehade bet he could easily take the rat, but, Rraezanon reminded him that they wanted to save they're strength for later, for when the confront the mage, which Fehade hoped would be soon, he needed to take his anger out on something soon, or he just may end up burning this whole place down, the marsh did seem to be a blemish on the beauty of the world, especially with a rat as its supposed "master". Fehade also didn't comment on the part where the rat spoke of leaps. It wasn't even the rats business to get into Fehade's and Mara's. He concentrated now on just where he walked, trying to ignore the beast beside him, and wishing to be quickly gone from here... first a cannibal like demon Aether Draka, and now a disgusting rat that took pleasure in seeing Fehade's distaste. When the rat spoke of the mage, Fehade glanced at it, and regretted it, and immediately looked ahead again. The beast had taken on the form of a elf, and seeing it still eating the foot made Fehade's stomach turned slightly, and he cursed him for being weak to see a sight. "Mara would be disappointed if he doesn't have what she's looking for if you say he has nothing of much interest." He said, and frowned. If the mage didn't have what she wanted, then this was a complete waste of time, and wasting time wasn't he's favorite thing, sure he took the time to torture people, but that mainly happens when a person fails to show. |

Fehade’s response was more than enough to tell him he had stuck home. He could hear the Tiefling’s annoyance, but by some great act of self-control the creature contained himself. It pleased Vernon to see him struggle, but he disappointed when Fehade cut his words short. It was easy to tell the tielfling was more than disgusted by Vernon’s snack, which was how Vernon liked it. It was always nice to get dinner and show. “Mara would be disappointed if you brought her what she was looking for. Besides if it doesn’t happen to be here it’s her fault not yours. If you let her blame you you’re only proving yourself to be as much of an underling as she makes you out to be,” Vernon grinned. Words were so easily twisted against their users, even if he had to make lies and assumptions to do so, but so far his dubious information had proven to strike home making the Tiefling seem to be every bit of a sad lackey that he seemed. “The moment of truth will be upon us soon,” Vernon said before her taking a one last bite of the foot before he placed the foot in his bag. He sniffed the air and caught on to the scent of the mage. “It would seem we are in luck. The mage seems to be at home and with a little more company than his plants,” Vernon mused as his mind pondered the distant scents. He could discern more when they were closer or if the wind were stronger, but for not it was enough to tell the mage had more than plants to keep him company. |

How he wanted to bash the rats head into the ground, chop him to little pieces, set him on fire, anything to get rid of it. He knew what the rat meant when he spoke the first time, and couldn't help think more about it. He didn't want to be always under Mara, and he was always planning for a time to kill her too, show her he isn't weak, but he knew, that she would be expecting the such from him. He closed his eyes a moment, thinking. "For now, it would be fine for people to think of me as an... underling, a lackey, as you say, I may not like it, but its fine for the moment until I gather all the power I can. She blames me, I will hate it, but if I lash out now, I won't succeed." He said. Though he was excited for his plans to move into action, he had to be patient, he had Rraezanon to help with that. When Vernon spoke again, Fehade looked up ahead, and a grin was found on Fehade's face when the rat said there was more then just thew wizard there. Now this little job was getting all the more fun. He clenched and unclenched his left hand, as it tingled with dark magic, waiting to be used. Fehade then picked up his pace, wanting to get there faster. "At least this little trip won't be a complete waste if its not there." He said, as he unnoticeable by him caressed the handle of his katana with his right hand. It had been a while since he last got to hurt someone, and it would be quite refreshing to do so. |
