| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Wampus was strolling about the village of Kellen when he saw some beggers in an alley. They were all cold and were all around a barrel with trash but no fire. The air was cold and he could see the men shivering. Wampus looked at them at felt a little bad. Lemme give you all a light Wampus said while walking up to the barrel. A red glow began to form an aura around Wampus's hand as if something very big was about to happen. Emalf Wampus said as if to himself. Then, a spark came from his hands and showered onto the trash in the barrel. It almost looked as if something might have caught, but nothing. Emalf Wampus said once more, with more enthusiasm. Sparks flew everywhere, the barrel caught on fire, but some hay barrels nearby got caught in the explosive shower as well. << Oh man, you goofed, >> Wampus said to himself trying to figure out how to put out the expanding flames before anyone caught sight of his goof. |

Thorn was walking through the village when she saw a man trying to work magic like a proper wizard or warlock, he used hand magic with words. her own magic came to her through thoughts and hand motions. Not through mere words. In her coven words were only used for potions, some spells and other such things. Beside Thorn flew her familiar which was a bleu baby dragon whom she named sparkler for his enthusiasm in flames though all that coems out of his mouth are colorful sparks like that of fireworks. He was only about a foot tall at the moment and flew by her all the time. In the alley Sparkler saw the flames and darted over to them Thorn looked over and saw sparkler fly to them. "Sparkler! Come back!" She hissed so no one would noticed she was talking to air. "Sparkler!" Still the small dragon persisted until he was practically in the base of the flames playing like a child in a candy store. thorn saw the man next to her and ignored him simply watching sparkler, or what proabably looked from his point of view the fire darting her head every which way trying to find a way to catch him. Thorn wore a witches black velvet cloak, the shadows covered her face for now and her womanly figure and dress. |

Wampus looked around. << Water, >> he thought to himself, << I need water! >> Wampus looked about trying to find a bucket, a barrel, even a tea cup of water. He needed something to try and put the flames out. He ran about one way before thinking he saw something that had water in it in the corner of his eyes, stopping in his tracks to head the new direction only to find that his eyes were tricking him and there was no water to find. Then, he found it! There was a bucket of, well, something. It was a liquid for sure, perhaps it would help put the fire out. Wampus grabbed the bucket and then threw it on the flames. Right as the liquid escaped the bucket, he saw something in the fires. Wampus was not sure what it was in the dim light, but he was definitely not human. There looked to be wings and legs, but that was all he could discern. He was not sure if the creature was flailing in the fire or playing, but what happened next caused him to worry for the poor creature. The liquid hit the fire, and at that very moment, Wampus learned he made a mistake. The liquid was not water for sure, the water embraced the fluid and then a small explosion let loose from the blaze -- not one strong enough to damage any of the nearby buildings, but debris was sent flying about and knocked Wampus backwards a bit. He would definitely feel that in the morning. Wampus's first concern though was not for himself, but hte creature in the flames. << I do hope that it is okay! >> Wampus thought. He got up and raced toward the flames to look. |

The half-dragon walked into town. A few elves greeted her and waved at her. She had come this way many times now and was known here. She was glad that for once at least a few people understood that she was not a threat to them. Well she was not a threat if they did not force her into being one. Her icy blue eyes went wide when she saw an explosion. "What the?!" she cried. She bolted forward to see what was going on. She groaned when she saw a large fire spreading. She moved her fingers in familar arcane patterns and began to chant a spell. Soon a down pour came over the flaming area and put out the flames. Wisps of smoke rose from the burnt wood as the smolder ashes cooled in the rain. She looked around and saw that no one seemed hurt and let out a relieved sigh. That was when she spotted someone who looked like a spell caster. She pointed finger, now crackeling with electricity, at him. "Did you do this?" she asked in a cold voice. "Better answer carefully or you will be very sorry." |

All of the sudden, it was like the sky fell down onto the fire. It was like a miracle. Wampus looked to the sky, he did not remember the sky being all too gloomy, he really did not expect it to rain. As he looked up, there was nothing. The rain was just there. Obviously someone had brought it by magic. He turned around to look and see if he could find out who it was and was confronted by an elf -- with scales. After the initial shock of seeing this person, it registered what she said. He didn't mean to cause the fire, of course. In the begining, he was just trying to help out the poor person in the alley -- who had by now ran away from the spectacle -- and then when he goofed with that, he accidentally threw some alcohol or something on the fire. It was not his fault his luck was not the best in the world. It was an accident, I swear it! Wampus stuttered out. There was no use in lying, and he had trouble lying anyway just no point in the end. I was only trying to help... he said, at a loss for words and pointing down the alley where the poor man had been. |

"Sparkler!" She said again, her little blue dragon smiled at her then flew over to her with a couple sparks still on his skin, no one could see him of course but the man that caused the fire did look rather fazzled. When she knew no one was looking she motioned her dragon to her, he came over. With a look of disaproval, yet a smile playing on her lips she hugged him tight before he flew up onto her shoulder, no one to be able to see him. Finally she ran over to both the strangers and surveyd them each. The one that cuased the fire looked rather shocked and embarassed, the girl by him, an angry citizen or lover perhaps? Simply stood demanding answers. Thorn Walked closer and smiled. "What was that? It was quite the shock. I nearly fell backewards from it." She said keeping her face in the darkeness of her cloak. |

The fellow seemed honest enough so Celebriel let the blue sparks jumping between her fingers go out. She dropped her clawed hand down and placed it on her hip. With the other hand she pulled some her silver hair out of her face. "Just be more careful next time," she said with a sigh. "Magic is not something that one should use lightly. And keep this in mind: The greatest harm can result from the best intentions." Her icy blue eyes then looked to the new comer. When the question was asked Celebriel just said, "Nothing but a bit of misunderstanding. Nothing to worry about." Celebriel looked again to the magic user. Her long tail swayed back and forth in a casual manner. She wondered what this fellow would do next. She almost felt like he was someone she should keep and eye on to make sure he did not burn down the whole village next. |

Wampus really did feel bad about the whole situation. He really did not mean anyone harm, and fortunately no one was harmed it seemed, other than himself just a little bit. Then he remembered about the creature he saw in the flames before the eruption. Trust me when I saw I've learned my lesson and will be far more careful next time. I realize I am just a peddling wizard when it comes down to the facts, I'm so new at it all... but that is not too important right now. There was a thing... Wampus said in a slight hurry while motioning to the remains of what used to be the fire. There was something in the fire, I saw it before the explosion! Wampus ran to the scene and looked around among all the burn wreckage. He looked under things, around things, inside of things but he could not find any sins of there being a creature. We must find it and make sure its okay! |
