| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Midori was quick to stand still when he was placed on the ground. When Katsumi brought her bag in front of her and looked through it he could only wait. When she started to put a bandage around he quickly made it as easy for her as he could moving his arms out of the way and not moving. Would have helped if he took his shirt off first before she put the bandages on him, at least they would be under his shirt then. He had two reasons for wanting them anyway, it would hide his wings growing back and stop it from bleeding if the wound opened anymore. He was going to hate this month for sure, and having it to spend it with her was ether going to be a lot of fun or pure hell. Hopefully it was the first one. He didn't answer her at first when she said she didn't know how to make it up to him. He knew how but wasn't sure how to say it without sounding like he wanted to stay with her. From all the events that happened in the past hour or so he wanted to get away from her. He looked up at her and she was crying, she was very sorry for it apparently. He wiped his old tears away that he hadn't done so yet. "Well..." he started to say before she said she would cut her own arm off. He was shocked that she would do that, she played a musical instrument and needed that for it. He twitched a bit when she took out her dagger. Moving from his spot, he quickly jumped onto her arm and climbed up it. "No, don't!" he shouted, he didn't want her to cut her arm off, and she would be mad when she saw that his wings had grown back. She can't grow an arm back, and she would need it. From her arm he was sure she noticed him but he slipped and fell onto her lap from there. He hated not being able to fly. He sat up and looked up at her with concern written all over his face. He didn't want someone losing their arm for his lie, but he was just showing he didn't want her to lose her arm. "You don't have to." he said quietly but audio enough range. He looked away from her and to the ground to her side. He wouldn't be able to handle it if she started to cry again, for joy or sadness. Quickly after he turned back to her forcing a small smile and began to talk quickly getting his point across. "All you have to do to make it up to me is to never put me in a jar again and make sure you don't leave me around to get stepped on. With that said he signed away his fate to be stuck with her for the next month or so. |

Katsumi ignored his first tiny shouts of not cutting her arm off. He had climbed up her arm, but without much to grip, he lost his balance and spot, and slid down her arm and onto her lap. He looked up at her with concern and worry, and repeated she didn’t have to, but she just shook her head rapidly, tears flying away from her as she did so. "All you have to do to make it up to me is to never put me in a jar again and make sure you don't leave me around to get stepped on.” “That’s not enough! You’ll always have the wish to fly for the rest of your life, and whose fault is it that you can never again fly? Mine! It’s only fair I go ahead and cut my arm off and never play my flute again!” Katsumi said in a shrilly voice, filled with pauses for holding back as much tears as she could. Still, the tears streamed down her face. She took a deep breath, and without breathing out, pulled her arm back slightly. She then brought it down, slicing her arm once again. “I...I...I can’t do it!” Katsumi cried as she dropped the dagger to the ground, and her arms lay limply beside her. Her shoulder bled and sting slightly, but she paid no attention to it, as the tears streamed down her face. She looked down at Midori, her face sorrowful. “I know I said I would, but I just can’t! I’m a horrible person! I really am a monster!” ”I’m going to have to take care of you and that’s all! I’m sorry, so sorry! I’ll pray and pray someone goes and cuts my arm off! Or maybe a hungry beast will come and tear it off with its jaws!” Katsumi said, sadly with a small side of hope. She didn’t care, but she couldn’t do it herself. It was her own arm after all! How could she just go and cut it off? If Midori could, she would even let him rip her arm off! Katsumi grabbed Midori slowly, and hugged him as she sobbed and repeatedly said sorry to him, being sure not to crush his tiny little body as she did so. She was a cruel person. She couldn’t even do much to make it up to him, and she would forever and ever regret what she had done to him. It would haunt her for the rest of her life! |

Midori leaned back when she shook her head. She wasn't going to stop, he closed his eyes so he didn't have to watch as she went to cut herself again. Then the dagger fell to the ground and she was crying again. She wasn't going to do it at least. He was releaved that he wouldn't have to resort to making it up to her as best as he could for his lie making her cut off her own arm. He opened his eyes a moment after and looked up at her still looking worried. Katsumi was going to be depressed about it for a while now and won't stop apologizing for sure. "It's ok, I forgive you." he whispered to her not expecting her to hear it over her sobbing. He was sure the Elf didn't hear him when she kept on going about having something rip her arm off of her. It wasn't nessicary anymore, he had forgiven her. He would have to say it again to make her calm down, if it would even work. He didn't attempt to move as her hands came around him and he was embraced in a hug. He let her hug him for a minute before speaking up over her sorries. "It is ok, I forgive you." he said loud enough for her to hear him before he continued on about telling her the truth. It would be bad if he didn't tell her now or she continued to cut her arm off. "You don't have to cut your arm off. Your arm won't grow back, my wings will." he said not looking up at her directly at first then he did a moment after and continued. "I'm sorry because I lied to you." he said caringly and breathed in deeply at first before closing his eyes. After another minute he continued on after letting out the air he forgot to breath out a minute ago. "To make up for my lie, is there anything you want from me? If there is something I can do for you I will do it for you, anything at all. I promise." he said meaning that, expecting her to say something like 'never want to leave me' or to listen to her play the flute always. He didn't know what he would say but many guesses came to mind. He only went this far with it because she almost cut her arm off because of his lie. |

"It is ok, I forgive you." Katsumi looked down at the fairy boy. How could he forgive her so easily? She may suddenly change her mind and then abandon him somewhere in the middle of nowhere. Then what would he do with himself? He would be all alone and then attacked by some savage dog or beast that came from the shadows of the night! He wouldn’t last out in the world alone, and for all he knew that’s what she would do to him! "You don't have to cut your arm off. Your arm won't grow back, my wings will. Katsumi blinked a few times. She lost her grip on Midori, and her arms dropped limply to her side as she processed the words. She had heard him wrong, right? She wished she did, but at the same time she didn’t. She had almost cut her own arm off because he had told her they wouldn’t earlier! But...yet...his wings would grow back! Her eyes widened, and a small smile formed on her lips. Her smile faded though and turned to a grimace as she remembered she had fallen for the lie. "I'm sorry because I lied to you." Katsumi looked down at him. Her own arm. What would he have done had she had the nerve to cut her own arm off and had? Continued with the lie, until, POOF, he had wings. Maybe tell her some ridiculous story that it was a miracle or that he had no clue they would grow back? As for her, she would be armless, for it was known that an arm doesn’t exactly just grow back after some time. It was gone, never to be the same. "To make up for my lie, is there anything you want from me? If there is something I can do for you I will do it for you, anything at all. I promise." Katsumi tilted her head slightly, and stared blankly at him as she spoke softly, “There is. You can cut your own arm off...” Katsumi felt like she was in a trance and just stared to study his reaction, not even blinking. Could he honestly do that to himself? He had said he would do anything, he had promised her. But how could he accept this? She couldn’t even do it when she had thought she had ruined his wings. Katsumi said nothing for a few moments as she watched him. She shook her head lightly though after seeing his reaction, and spoke again, her voice in the same eerie soft tone. She pushed her hair back, staring at the ground, before slowly moving her eyes back up to look at him. “Of course you can’t do that. I just can’t believe you would lie about something so horrible to me...” Katsumi glared at the angry boy, not holding back her anger in her face as she did so. No one had ever, not ever, lied to her. Especially not her friends back home, which is why she had believed him. She hated liars to the deepest part of her soul. “I hate liars...” Katsumi said allowed in a low harsh voice. She stood up abruptly, and began to walk a few steps away from Midori, turning back to glare ferociously at him once again. |

Midori was dropped and he quickly and gently kicked off from Katsumi's arm and fell to the ground on his feet after a small flip. He didn't do it to show off but so he wouldn't fall onto her lap again. He waited to see if she would say anything at all and she did. He was a bit shocked at this. He promised and he would do it. He really didn't want to and wanted to keep his arm. If he didn't promise he would have never listened to that. He gave her a small surprised expression before looking down at the ground seemingly depressed. He went to pull out his dagger before she shook her head and spoke up again. He didn't have to do it, he let go of his grip on his dagger and didn't pull it out. He looked back up to her and held her gaze for a moment. She then stood and left him. Was he to follow her or to go on his own? He wanted to go on his own but he had something to say to her first. He meant what he said and was going to get her to know that he was sorry for his lie and she would still go upon that promise if she wanted. When she turned to look at him he took a few hesitant steps forward. "Once again I like to say that I am sorry. If you will hear me out right now I want to explain myself." he stated quickly and took in a breath before continuing. "I only lied to you because I wanted a reason to never see that jar again, and I didn't think you would go to such lengths. If you were going to cut your arm off I one, wouldn't let you, two make it up to you with a lot more then I already offered for my lie." he said pausing for breath before continuing the next chance he got. "But my offer still stands, anything you want. Just come and find me, I will be able to take care of myself without my wings until they do grow back." he said and smiled at her before turning around. He walked a bit before turning his head to look at her and waved his right arm. "See ya later, Katsumi." he said remembering her name, he didn't stop after that and put his hands in his pockets. |
