| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Midori didn't like being in cities or towns at all but he wasn't going to leave the town and find a place to rest it was already here. The sun was going to be going down in an hour and he couldn't see very well in the dark. He sat on the back of a wooden bench. Right on top of it he had plenty of room, he crossed his legs and leaned back slightly. He watched the bigger folk go about the last of there day. He was going to wait for most people to leave the streets before finding a place to sleep for the night. Possibly just someplace out of site but he didn't want anyone seeing him go there. He didn't want to be captured again, though he was already tired he would stay awake for a while longer. It couldn't hurt to do so, but he would have to wake up early in the morning. He was well use to that by now. Sitting crossed legged, his put the palms of his hands on his knees supporting himself so he wouldn't lose balance and fall backwards. He kept his eyes on everyone in front of him, not really interested but just waiting for something to happen. He was hoping for something good to happen for him for once, but knew it wouldn't come. |

Katsumi yawned, as she walked slowly. She was tired. Not because she was exhausted, but because she was extremely bored and lonely. Nothing of interest caught her attention. She had spent her day wandering around, humming softly to herself as she watched everybody else bustling about all day, or dozing off in the middle of nowhere. On the bright side, she had gotten in some practice with her flute. Before she realized it, the sky had began to grow darker, the sun soon to go into hiding once again. Not that she minded. She preferred the light of the moon rather than the bright burning light of the sun. It was her favorite time of the day to play her music and spend her day. She loved the night. Katsumi stretched her arms above her and looked around more curiously now. She should probably search for somewhere to sleep later that night, but she didn't feel like it. She wouldn't be going to bed for a while anyways if she could find something for herself to do. Katsumi spotted an empty bench, and swiftly made her way to it, humming a soft melody to herself. As she neared, her eyes moved to something that sat on the top edge of the bench. She tilted her head curiously as she neared it, her humming going lower until she just stopped. Katsumi's eyes brightened, and she let out a small gasp. It was a fairy! She had never seen one up close before in real life. A huge grin appeared on her face, as she snuck up from behind it, cupping her hands, before she lowered her hands down in an attempt to catch it between them, not another thought as she did so. |

Midori had stopped paying attention to each individual around and just on the area himself. Now to look for some place to stay for the night, a tree or something might work out fell. He didn't pay attention to the Elf girl that was coming up behind him, even if he did notice she was coming right towards him he wouldn't expect what she would do. Only a moment later hands came down and gripped him between them. He was inside a fleshy prison now, not the first time he was held, but first time he could be remember being held from all sides at the same time. He had never been cupped like this before, he would have jumped but he didn't have room. He lashed out with one of his feet and kicked one of the hands that held him captive. What did this person want from him? Did she know that he was a living being just like her and not a bug to catch for asumment. He hated being treated like a toy, made him always feel uncomfortable and lower on the food chain that his kind was treated as nothing more then mere bugs. He had a feeling he wouldn't like this girl very much if she was going to keep him like this. He didn't have room to reach for his dagger in here ether, he would need that probably. "Hey! Let me go!" he shouted from his prison hoping she would hear him. |

Katsumi's grin grew as she successfully caught the fairy in her hands. It squirmed a bit, hitting her hand. Katsumi frowned. She probably should have thought before she went and caught the poor little thing. Still, she couldn't make herself lose her grip around the small creature. She was just too curious and excited over it. "Hey! Let me go!" Katsumi let out a small girlish squeak when she heard the tiny voice come from her hands. It surprised her when it suddenly talked to her, she had been so lost in her thoughts, excitement, and future plans about the fairy that it frightened her slightly. Her hands never moved though, and when she had got focus on real life she smiled once again. She bent down slightly, opening her hands open a bit, peeking in to see it. "I'm sorry!" Katsumi said softly, but happily as she stared down at it with one eye. Hopefully it wouldn't stab her in the eye. She really did need her eye. "You're sooo cute!" Katsumi gushed happily, as she continued to look down at it. She wanted to hug it, but she was afraid it would try to escape if she let it out from her hands or that she would crush it. SHe didn't want that at all. "What's your name little fairy?" Katsumi asked curiously to distract her wanting to hug it. |

Midori felt nothing else happen around him after the small faint squeak after he spoke up. After a few moments a bit of light snuck into the darkness then it was shadowed over. She was looking at him, and apologized. If she was sorry why didn't she just let him go. The next thing she said almost answered that for him though it was obviously not directed at him but herself. She sounded very exicted to have caught him for some odd reason. Well it was obvious why she had caught him, because she was bigger, she could, and she wanted to. He looked up at her and sat in her hands with his knees folded up. He just wanted to be let go, if she was going to keep him here he should hurt her someone. He couldn't really without his dagger and that would be hard to get in this grip. He gave her a look of annoyance, but it was more filled with curiousity at what she was planning. A moment later she asked his name, why should he answer? But now was a time to speak up and he would. "If you are sorry, but won't you let me go? Also why should I tell you my name, I enjoy your compliment about me a bit but yet you hold me here against my will, I guess." he said not very firmly but trying to sound like he was mad, he wasn't, just tired and didn't plan on sleeping in this Elf's hands. |

The little fairy looked up at her, it's gaze filled with slight annoyance and curiosity mixed together. She didn't mind though. She may not be annoyed, but she definately was curious. She did begin to feel slightly guilty, but her curiosity and excitement were stronger than her guilt. If you are sorry, but won't you let me go? Also why should I tell you my name, I enjoy your compliment about me a bit but yet you hold me here against my will, I guess." Katsumi blinked a few times, trying to think. He had a very good point, and she had to think of how to answer him back. She didn't want to let him go, he was just too cute! And from the way he sounded and said it, she was sure he would fly away as soon as the chance was provided for him. That would make her sad. "You'll fly away from me if I let you go though! I would be very sad if you did that, Mr. Fairy! I would very much like to be your friend, and I want to know your name! I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours," Katsumi tried to bargain, but it sounded more like a pitiful pleading. "Don't you want to be my friend to?" Katsumi lip quivered even though he didn't see it, and her eyes grew sad and pitiful, turning glossy from the tears that were sure to burst if he said no to her. He was just so cute and she wanted to be his friend. She wasn't sure what she would do if he crushed her feelings. |

Midori listened before turning away, he might not fly away if she asked him not to. Though now he had already almost everything he wanted to say. She almost looked like she was going to cry if he said no. He thought for a moment before turning back to her but not looking in her eye, he wouldn't be able to take that. "Fine, I will tell you my name I guess." he said with a short pause before continuing. "Midori be my name, now you said you would tell me your's though." he said trying to sound a bit cheerful, she didn't seem to mean any harm but he just wanted to be let go. Before she could say anything else he continued to speak. "Well if you asked to be my friend without snatching me I would have most likely said yes, now I am not to sure. I will have to think about it, but only if you let me go and I promise I won't fly away." he said trying to smile but wasn't doing too well. He hoped she would accept that and let him go and he could have his freedom back. He wasn't sure about being her friend though, she had captured him and doesn't seem to want to let him go, really not the best thing to get on his good side. He waited for he reponse hoping she would let him go and he could have the time to think about it. |

The little fairy boy turned away, and she was afraid he would say no to her. Her eyes began to water slightly, her hands shaking ever so slightly as she prepared for rejection from him. He turned back to her, and she blinked to clear the tears from her eyes, sniffing once. "Fine, I will tell you my name I guess. Midori be my name, now you said you would tell me your's though." Katsumi's eyes brightened from the happiness she felt. Her lips curled into a big grin once again, and she felt like jumping with joy. He seemed slightly reluctant, but he had told her, which meant he didn't hate her. Even better, he wanted to know her name too, and she was happy to tell him, but he continued on before she could get a word in. "Well if you asked to be my friend without snatching me I would have most likely said yes, now I am not to sure. I will have to think about it, but only if you let me go and I promise I won't fly away." Katsumi's smile dropped slightly as he said he was unsure if he could be her friend now. She felt incredibly bad for capturing him, and now he said he might not be her friend. She wanted to be his friend really badly, and the only way to even convince him a little was to let him free from her hold. She was still sure he would try and fly away from her though. "You really promise you won't try and fly away from me?" Katsumi asked worriedly, biting her lip as she considered letting him go. He seemed honest, and she didn't want to make him madder by keeping him longer. She sighed, and slowly opened her hands to let him fly out. If worse came to worse, she would just have to chase Midori. "My name is Katsumi by the way..." She said slowly, as she watched Midori carefully. |

"Yes, I really promise, I guess." he said with a nod as the hand was already releasing him. He was glad she had listened to him and not burst out crying. He wouldn't have been able to handle that at all, Fairy or not he was still a boy. He smiled in thanks but didn't move. His knees still folded as he sat on her palm. He didn't intend on leaving and he promised he wouldn't fly away. As long as she wasn't holding him against his will he was fine with it. But what if he did fly away, what would she do? Just something he had to ask. "Thank you, Katsumi, I apperciate you letting me go a lot, I guess." he said after the nod but knew she probably only let him go so that he might become her friend. How could he really say no though? She really wanted to be his friend, or was just thinking she wanted to be his friend and wanted him as a pet. He looked down at his knees and hugged them in thought. It was a hard choice, but just saying yes to someone that had captured him like that. "I'm sorry but I don't think I should." he said knowing she might only take him as a pet or something like that. He looked down at her hand as he said that, but so she wouldn't cry he said something else, he pasued for a half a minute. Not sure what to say. "But I want to ask before I make my final desicion, what would you have done with me if I didn't talk at all?" he wasn't sure why he asked that, of course he could talk but now he had gotten himself curious and didn't want to make her sad. |

"Yes, I really promise, I guess." Katsumi smiled, feeling that she could trust him enough. He didn’t even move out of her hands when she opened them up completely. Instead he smiled up at her, but he didn’t seem very comfortable and sat with his knees folded in her palm. It only confirmed he would stay with her and not fly away from her. "Thank you, Katsumi, I appreciate you letting me go a lot, I guess." Katsumi nodded, smiling softly, trying not to say anything that would make him scared or hate her so he would try to escape. He seemed to be in thought as he hugged his knees and said nothing for a few moments. She stared down into her hands at him hopefully, her eyes growing with anticipation of his answer. "I'm sorry but I don't think I should." Katsumi’s face dropped completely. Why wouldn’t he be her friend? She let him go, and she didn’t hurt him, or she hoped she hadn’t. But still he didn’t want to be her friend! She was becoming frustrated and sad at the same time. How could she make him her friend? "But I want to ask before I make my final decision, what would you have done with me if I didn't talk at all?" Katsumi tilted her head slightly. What an odd question he had asked her. She had never really thought about it. She had been told that fairies could talk, but never really thought about it when she saw him. She had been too busy making plans in her head when she had successfully caught him. She wasn’t sure he would like some of her plans, and was sure he would fly away as quickly as he could when she heard her plans. She would have scared herself had it not been her very own thoughts. “I was going to play with you...” Katsumi said softly, looking away guiltily, before glancing back at him, and in a much softer voice continued. She left out her other ideas and just said the one that seemed the least peculiar. Not that it was very normal either, or so she had been told by many of her other friends. “And if you were mean to me...I was going to eat you...” |

Midori nodded sheepishly when she said she was going to play with him. He was to expect that, like a toy. He had seen other Fairies captured and used as toys and pets before. It made him mad to think of such a thing. He wasn't sure anymore if he should be her friend if that was her thoughts. But the next thing she said freaked him out, she would have eaten him if he was mean? That didn't seem very far, and he could only assume she would play with him anyways when he became her friend giving him the only option to get out of it was to try and leave only to get eaten. He just couldn't do it, he didn't trust her that much anymore. He couldn't move to get up though at the thought of being eaten. "I'm really sorry but if you were planning on playing with me, another person, then eating me if I disagreed I don't think I could be your friend. Once again, I am really sorry." he said thinking if he should give her a second chance, he would wait a minute to see what she would say to him then offer her that second chance. He wasn't going to sit around for a half hour as she balled her eyes out over not being able to be his friend. Midori only waited with a glum face but didn't move yet, he was waiting for her to say something or just start crying. |

"I'm really sorry but if you were planning on playing with me, another person, then eating me if I disagreed I don't think I could be your friend. Once again, I am really sorry." Katsumi blinked, slightly confused. She hadn’t meant it like that at all. Well, maybe the eating part was close to what she had meant, but that was pretty hard thing to confuse either way. She tilted her head slightly, studying the fairy boy, her lips curved into a sort of confused frown before she began to speak again. “Oh! That’s not what I meant at all! I meant I wanted to play with you...not like I would with a doll but like you would with a friend. Like we would play catch! Except that wouldn’t be very smart...” Katsumi stopped for a second to watch an image in her head of Midori trying to catch a ball, that would crush him. It would probably be bigger than the poor fairy. That would definately not be a smart game to play. She shook her head to rid herself of the image and continued. “I might try and dress you up...but I would let you do the same to me if you could!” Katsumi paused once again and blushed at how odd that seemed. Once again she shook her head. “And I would never think of eating you unless you made me cry! But it wouldn’t be my fault...I just don’t know what I’d do if I was crying really hard. Sometimes its hard for me to control myself when I'm sad..” Katsumi looked down at the fairy once again and then down to the ground. She was sure he would leave now, and that saddened her deeply. She really didn’t want to hurt him or make him go away. “I wouldn’t hurt you though on purpose!” Katsumi repeated to him, smiling slightly. |

Midori quietly laughed to himself at playing catch, it would be easier to use him as a ball then for him to catch one. Though he would not agree to that in anyway. He allowed himself a small smile as she continued on. She talked like she might burst into tears at any moment. She then shook her head as if she was clearing a thought away. He only wished he knew what she was thinking about, it would be very helpful if he could read minds or something like that. He dozed off for a moment thinking about it before she started talking again. He snapped his attention back to Katsumi and listened, dress him up, that sounds pretty doll like to him, but before he could even ask about it, he was going to ask in a joking manner most likely when she talked about eating him. She wouldn't unless he made her sad. That was a bit dangerous even if they were friends. He would tell her about that in a moment after she had finished. She wouldn't hurt him on perpose., she seemed very sure of that. He smiled at her for a second before he spoke. "I would really like to be your friend, hate to decline since the beginning, it is just that even if we are friends, what if I accidently make you sad? Then I might not be seen ever again. I don't want to take that risk, sorry. I can be your friend though, but not stay around." he said thinking about it himself, accidently saying the wrong thing and making her sad would give him a one way ticket to her stomach. He didn't really enjoy the idea. |

I don't want to take that risk, sorry. I can be your friend though, but not stay around." Katsumi frowned, her lower lip sticking out in a pout. They wouldn’t be much of friends if he was never around, and she didn’t want him to go. She had just met him. She was beginning to feel like he didn’t even want to be friends, but instead run away from her. She didn’t like that at all. It hurt her feelings, and she didn’t want to agree. She refused to. “I don’t want you to go. I want you to stay with me always so we can play together, and travel around. “ Katsumi said stubbornly. She was tired of always being alone whenever she travelled and missed being able to talk to someone. As mean, and crazy as it may seem to some, she wasn’t going to let her once chance at a friend go away. She would catch him if she had to. Luckily she had a big enough jar with her for him to fit in if it came down to that. “Won’t you stay with me, Midori?” Katsumi asked him again softly, giving him one last chance. Afraid he would try and fly away not, she prepared for closing her hands at any sign of him flying away. “I definately won’t hurt you! We will have lots of fun!” |

Midori didn't know what to do anymore, he didn't want to leave her but he had to for his own safety. He looked away from her and thought about it much harder. If he stayed with her he would have to follow her around anyways, he liked to move on his own at his own pace. He didn't want to make her sad, but he wanted to live a bit more. He couldn't just sit around and be a follower to her. He wouldn't have that, no matter how much he wanted to stay and be her friend. "Sorry." he said quietly as he moved quickly, he was much faster then her and she wouldn't be able to catch him if he flew. He was faster then most other fairies when he compared them all. But he put his hands out in front of him as he almost ran into the bench. It was curved at the top and he was under the curve, this was becoming difficult. He was in the senter of behind the bench and looked down, a stone base, he can't fly under it. He turned his back to it and looked at Katsumi. He tried to run and he couldn't go anywhere without being caught. She could cut off all of his paths very easily. But he had tried to run, what would she do with him now? Hopefully she wouldn't be sad enough because of that. He closed his eyes waiting for her to grab him or something. |
