| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The red rays of dawn were just beginning to creep upon the village of Kellen, and not a sound could be heard, except the occasional neighing of a horse, or the slam of a door as some disgruntled worker headed off to another day of labor. The village could almost be taken for a ghost town, so quiet it was. The wind was nonexistant, making it seem as if the outside world did not touch this little place and its people. Then, suddenly, there was a noise. But it was just a guard, on his patrol, weary from the night, ready for his shift to end. The creaking of his armor as he walked seemed to resemble an avalanche in comparison to the silence of the rest of the village. He stopped a moment to lean against the side of a building and look out into the vast distance. Then he stood back up, noticing something. It was a horse and a rider, moving at a calm pace towards the village. As they came closer, the guard could make out the rider slightly. He seemed to be a man of average height, although it was hard to tell while the man was mounted. He wore simple clothes, and had a sword at his waist and a buckler on his back. Other than that, nothing was of major consequence about this man riding towards Kellen at dawn. The guard nonetheless remembered his duty, and waiting until the rider was closer, signaled for him to halt. "Who goes there at such an early hour, and what is your business in Kellen?" The guard wanted to avoid a confrontation if possible, especially so close to the end of his shift. The man on the horse smiled slightly. "I am but a lone rider, looking for a place to stay and rest up for a couple of days. Is that a crime?" The guard shook his head, but did not move. The rider dismounted the horse, and walked over to the guard. "What is it you wish of me? I merely want to be on my way and get a room." The guard pondered for a moment, then decided to let the man go on. After all, what harm could he possibly do? The man thanked the guard, and continued on through the village. |

Sealamin was sitting quietly outside one of the inns in the village. He had finally left the village with Regis on their plans for a mercenary guild, and with Tyrion, Regis and Sealamin himself, they were currently scouring Kellen for any like minded individuals. It was hard however, as there was no real way to see if someone was interested in becoming, or already was a mercenary, without them coming out and saying they were looking for some work. Planning ahead, Sealamin had already gotten some contacts around the place, Kellen, Norward, the dwarven mountains and even Ishtan had some contact with Sealamin. His position within the Elven village however, had allowed him the chances of meeting these people, and so he had used that position to form friend who would need the help of mercenaries. Looking further down to a commotion between one of the village guard and a newcomer, Sealamin sized up the horse that was being ridden. Currently, with 2 winged elves in the group, a ridder would be helpful, but not really needed. However, Sealamin chose to offer some advice to the newcomer. "The Green Gryphon, further up, is an excellent choice for an inn to stay in," Sealamin nodded to one of the inns further up while he drank some of his water. |

Romanus was just glad that the guard had let him pass unstopped, for he was wary of such people of late, especially since returning from his ventures in other lands. He was startled, to say the least, when he heard a voice telling him of an inn. He quickly turned toward the source of the sound, and found before him a winged elf. He smiled slightly, not having seen one before, and thought the sight was slightly amusing, however he took care not to laugh, as he did not wish to start anything. "Thank ye, sir. I am weary from my travels, and an inn is just the thing I was looking for. That, and work of course. But in these days, who needs the work of a sword for hire and his horse, eh? Everyone has their own issues to worry about, so they don't trust the likes of me. Ah well, what can be done?" He frowned slightly at the thought of no work, and turned toward the direction that the stranger had pointed. "The Green Gryphon, you say? I shall have to try it." He bowed slightly, and continued to walk the street, leading his horse behind him. |

A sword for hire eh? Looking for work? This could be exactly what Sealamin was looking for, another add for the guild prospect, and he had no work, while Sealamin had plans for work already planned for the guild. This looks to be a good evening for Sealamin, even if he only got one prospective member. Good sir," Sealamin stood up with a broad smile on his face at the opportunity that was just presented. "I believe that I may have an offer and some work for you mate. Maybe we could enter The Green Gryphon, get you a room, and discuss the offer I have available to you." With a broad smile, Sealamin finished his drink and look up to see if the mounted man would be interested in his prospect. |

(OOC: Um, he's not on the horse, just to let you know.) Romanus stared for a moment at the elf before him, surprised. A job offer? This was too good to be true. He nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me. Lead the way, for I know not where the Green Gryphon is" Inside, his mind was racing. A job. An actual job. He'd been barely scratching by ever since he got back, and finally having an opportunity made him feel so relieved. (OOC: Sorry for the short post, but that's all I could think of after first day of college and then going to work for the rest of the day.) |

"Brilliant!" Sealamin was happy with the turn of events today. It had started as an attempt at recruiting and gaining no one, and now he was to hopefully gain their first combatant in mounted warfares. Things seemed to be getting up. "The Gryphon is the best establishment in this village in my opinion. I have dealings with the owner in the past however, so you should get good rates from him for the night. This building here," Sealamin pointed to The Green Gryphon. This was a major plus for the guild effort, and really led them into a diversified starting position, 1 flying elves, one combat orientated, one command orientated, a sneaking halfling and a mounted human. Things could only get better from here. (( OOC: Do you want to make a new topic actaully in The Green Gryphon, or just paly it out here? ))
