| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Neil misplaced his armor, he was greatly embarrassed, but he started the day as usual only that he put on padded cloth and a tabard of the town making sure to not wear any item of clothing that is not tight or revealing. He grabbed his buckler with a horse motif and his shortsword. He sat there for a moment, taking in the beauty of the heirloom weapon, it's hilt was a bronze horse head black lacquer wood handle, a iron 's' hand guard, and a iron blade. He still had to bind his chest, his body was continuing to betray is appearance. Even though he tried to 'bulk up' he was still conspicuously feminine, and with out a Adam's apple. He went the guard quarters - he is paying a lot more extra to live away from the other guards due to modesty, you could say - and reported for duty. He was called to patrol a street in the front of town, the day seemed uneventful. Nothing to deal with, and nothing out of the ordinary - that is, until a reddish hulking brute walked into town, it seemed confused. She approached the Troll and in slow clear common she spoke to it "Do....you...need....assist-....help...sir?" |

Tumnus had once again taken to the roads and had wandered far and wide in search of vagabond trolls causing trouble to the lawful people of Imythess. His search had led him to the village of Kellen, a town that was supposedly very peaceful and had a great inn from all the stories and rumors that Tumnus had heard. He had also heard that a certain two headed troll lived somewhere nearby. Instead of just going after the troll, Tumnus had opted to restock and rest in the inn before going on his hunt. As he entered the town, he was confronted by what looked like an adolescent man. He had no facial hair but he carried himself like one who had seen many years out on the battle field. "Do....you...need....assist-....help...sir?" Tumnus was not one to be easily angered so he let the obvious remark about his intelligence slip past him. "Yes, I was wondering if you could help me to the inn and help me secure a room there?" said Tumnus with a broad smile displayed across his face. While he had let the first insult go past him, he doubted he would strain to hold back if another insult came his way. |

It came over Neil that the brute could speak good common. It occurred to neil that she was not deepening her voice enough, she cleared her throat and spoke again in a much more gruff voice, but there was hints of acting in her tone. "Excuse me, I was yawning there - " she held in a snicker "- but yes, I can guide you to a inn here sir. Why are you here, I must inquire, I have never seen any of your kind here." She fingered the pommel of her sword, she was a bit bored in this afternoon. But, one thing that could easily be admitted, it took quite a 'pair' to talk so rude to something so tall compared with you. She spoke again, in the same 'gruff' voice "I'd show you to the Green Griffon, but there are cheaper places to spend a night. " She started walking in the direction of the Mended Drum, subtly adjusting her clothing to avoid her curves to be noticeable. She kept a smile on her face as she continued walking in a medium pace towards the inn. |

As Tumnus followed the guard down the road towards an inn down the road, he noticed something peculiar about the guard. Not only had his voice changed continually during their little chat but he also seemed somewhat uncomfortable with his body as he tugged at his clothing. Must be puberty and the little fellow is just getting used to it, the troll thought to himself. Lucky for trolls, once they had gained a decent height, their body stopped changing as it had to deal with continually regrowing itself. But that was for another time as the troll had fell behind the guard. He simply lengthened his stride and easily caught up to the guard. There were many advantages for having such a large body but there were also many disadvantages that got thoroughly on his nerves. "So, I'm guessing you are one of the official guards of this here town?" Tumnus said mostly conversationally. It was extremely lonesome out on the road. Once Tumnus thought it over, he realized his last interaction with anyone had been back at a sparing session with some half dragon. He needed to stop at towns more often. But that would also lead to more fights with the various guards who were to thick headed to see past his race. |

"Yes I am a guard of this town, I've been on the force for five years about." Neil said - be blushed thinking that he might of revealed a bit too much of his past, but blushing highlighted the outright femininity of his face. He was a bit annoyed that the man did not answer his question. He repeated himself, "Why are you here? Do you need any kind of help?" The Mended Drum was a average inn, though in posed a problem, the door way was only about six feet tall. The troll needed in really crouch to fit. With faith the troll could fit sideways. Neil was going to offer to help when he ran inside with little to say be "One moment" before hastily running inot the building. |

Tumnus took a quick second to think over the question before he made a answer to quickly and brought a fight upon himself. "I am here to hunt a certain troll in the surounding regions and I heard he was causing some ruckess in the area. As for help, all I need is some general directions to where the troll's outpost is and if the village can spare one, a boy to help me roast the bugger once I defeat him," he said with a disarming smile showing that he knew something he shouldn't know. He realized that from the time the man had supposedly served in the guard, he must have been must older than a teenager. However, it was clear that there was something not right in the man's composition. Sadly, that was a mystery for another day, maybe when he returned from his fight with the troll. As the guard dashed ahead into the inn to presumably make reservations for him, the fire troll was sadly stuck outside. His bulky mass was to large in both directions to make it in without making himself look like a complete fool. Taking a few steps back, Tumnus did a slight charge so that he would have enough momentum to break through the small wall of the inn. He flew into the room like a tornado, dust swirling behind him and light cascading in from the larger door. "Sorry for the door, kind sir, but now it is more welcoming to us giant folk," Tumnus said sweetly even though he was thoroughly pissed off. |

She was relieved as she left a commode stall in the back, she was much more shy after leaving the restroom - it was a reminder that she had to stay disguised. To add to her embarrassment, when she came back to see a frustrated troll. She was embarrassed that she held her needs for to long and had to abandon the troll to relive herself. She gave the proprietor a small sack of coins with her head sullen. The amount was a reasonable for a night's rent and restitution for the damaged doorway. She spoke, softly at first and then she corrected with her gruff voice a few words in. "The Guard could really use one less marauding ogre, troll, or beast in the area. I could help." |

The guard seemed actually very kind to pay for the damage and the night, while it probably wasn't very much, it was still a very nice favor. Tumnus almost felt bad for the damage he had done to the door, however his hate of human sized items overpowered the human's kind act. "The Guard could really use one less marauding ogre, troll, or beast in the area. I could help." While Tumnus was used to working by himself, he could easily use the help fighting off the menacing foe that was the two headed troll. Still, he was still rather troubled by the appearance of the guard. Some sixth sense told him something was wrong here, that not all was right. "I would certainly like your help in defeating the troll, but I would rather fight the beast tomorrow," Tumnus said, "For now, how about we have a few beers and pushes some story around?" Tumnus moved towards one of the taller tables so he wouldn't be to uncomfortable in the seat and pushed out the other seat for the guard. He had a few tales to tell and hopefully the alcohol would open up the others man too. "So, you got any good stories on your tongue?" |

Neil truly detested ale and beer, but drinking it would help his disguise. He need to stay sober - he did not want to do something that he will greatly regret later. But he needed to fit in with the beast, there was one slight problem - his shift. He looked at the sun - it was now past midday, and he could let it slide even though it slightly pained him . He thought for a moment of the first time he rode a horse. It was, by all rights, a utterly generic story. It was not something dumbfounding - but it was a story that passed the time as Neil gingerly sipped little by little of the drink before him. He asked the Troll if he had any stories to share. |

The troll loved alcohol and he especially love a good beer after a long day's march. After ordering and gulping down some cheep alcohol to quench his thirst, Tumnus ordered the finest beer at the inn from which he slowly sipped. After licking the foam from his lips, Tumnus listened intently to the warrior's story. Unlike most show offish guards, this one didn't even have an interesting story to tell which was most uncommon. However, the fire troll's already intoxicated mind let it slip by him and he was soon rambling on about his life and his goals. More than a few juicy details slipped out such as his brawling rage and his slight addiction to alcohol. By the time his last rambling story ended, he was ready to move out and get on the road. "You coming or what?" said the giant of a troll as he rose from his seat and gulped down the last bit of ale. He moved through the door with ease, stopping to wrest on the wall of the inn. The night air was cold and the wind whipped around him as he waited to see if the guard would come with him. "Hurry along, no need to make me stay up all night." |

The troll seemed to confirm stereotypes about trolls, from their slurred speech to their obsession to alcohol. But once he rose from the table it instantly woke Neil up - who was starting to go to asleep due to general uninterest of the trolls stories. She immediately prepared to be outside of the town as much as she could - which was not very much. She hurried to catch up with the troll and then followed him when she caught up. She adjusted her belt and hilt, and talked the troll - she wondered of he was still drunk. "Where do you need to be guided to?" |

Tumnus' large body allowed for him to consume many times the normal amount of alcohol and not feel the least bit intoxicated. Therefore, he was still in perfect fighting shape if not better as the alcohol would dim down the pain that he took. With a mace in one hand and his fist ready to strike, Tumnus was excited for the prospect of the fight. "Just lead me to where ever the troll lives and you can either than leave or help me fight the beast," Tumnus said sternly, already training his mind for the coming battle. He had no intention of needing the human for the actual fight, but Tumnus hadn't had much interaction with other sentient beings for awhile. "If you do plan on working with me, I suppose we should try and make a plan before we barge in to the lair as I heard the two headed troll is quite a fearsome foe," Tumnus said to Neil Calhoun as they began to walk down the streets of town. It was a finely constructed town with rich ornamental buildings all picturing fine steeds. "This town have a fascination with horses or what?" |

"You could day that, yes." Neil said, walking eastwards toward the reported cave. He had never truly been that far outside of the village. But he knew how to fight, and he held his metal buckler that covered half of his forearm with a horse crest stamped on it. He sword was still in it's scabbard, but it could be retrieved quickly. After a short distance of walking down the plain there was a small hill outcrop with a very noticeable entrance hole in the side of it. Neil unsheathed his sword and walked towards the entranced slightly kneeling. Inside of the cave in was moist and damp, there were rancid smells from a unknown source lingering in the air. Neil spoke - carefully moderating how loud he spoke "This is it, I believe." |

Tumnus followed Neil down the hills and into the field surrounding the town. As they arrived at an out cropping of rock, an obvious cave was seen. From inside, a terrifying smell came out and swirled under Tumnus' nostrils. Coughing from the horrible smell, Tumnus nodded at Neil, agreeing that this was the home of the troll. Tumnus slowly walked in to the cave, keeping his body tight up against the wall and his muscles tensed. The cave expanded into one large room with a soaring ceiling which actually allowed for Tumnus to stand up fully and still have a little head room. He beckoned for the guard to follow him in and cover his back. Just as he turned around from signaling Neil, Tumnus saw the troll barreling towards him from the corner of his eye. Tumnus attempted to get out of the way but all that did was let the troll go flying past towards the entrance of the cave where Neil presumably was standing. "Watch out," screamed Tumnus, sprinting after the troll to try and help Neil from his obvious predicament. He let fly his mace so that it could possibly distract the enraged troll. It also allowed Tumnus to have his best two weapons out, his right and left fists. |

There was little time to react, but Neil rolled out of the way as best as she could. Though that action could prove to be a great thing to do, it was rather useless except for making the troll walk a extra step towards Neil. The troll was using a hobnailed tree limb that crashed into the cave walls - just barely missing Neil. The buckler was of little use, it was strapped back unto her back hastily at the same time she swung at the troll. The sword only left behind mild cuts for the troll. But she was panicking as the rudimentary club fell down faster and with more and more force around her. |
