Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

A cloak lay on the ground in the shade of a willow tree. Beside it lay a pair of shoes, socks stuffed inside, and a warm shirt. A little ways away, a boy stood in the grass, barfoot, clad in a pair of black pants and a simple black short-sleeved shirt. In each hand he held a longsword, glistening in the sunlight. A small hammer hung from his belt, just beside the empty sheath of one of his blades. Oh his right forearm he wore a single bracer, made of light leather.

For a moment nothing happened, he simply stood there, his weapons glistening in the sunlight. His eyes were closed and the wind disheveled his hair, causing it to flow into his eyes. Suddenly, they shot open, shining brightly with a green akin to the grass on which he stood. He began slashing at the air, the swords flying through the air gracefully. He went slowly, making sure that each blade remained out of the other's path. He was getting better, hopefully a sign of things to come.

Then, he turned towards the lake, glistening in the sunlight, and slashed his sword at it. As he did, he spoke an incantation, launching a fireball from the tip of his sword at the water where it made a splash, sending up a cloud of steam. He grinned, spinning the blades in his hands. It had taken him a while to figure that out.

Satisfied, he sheathed his blades again, wiping the sweat from his brow.

"No time to rest yet..." he said between large gulps of air. He promptly took the small hammer from his belt, holding it in his hand for a moment. Taking a final, deep breath, he threw the thing as hard as he could out over the lake. The thing crackled with electricity as it spun, and began to turn. Eventually, it made a full u-turn, flying through the air at Fefnir. Be he was prepared. Creating a small fireball, he threw it at the hammer, causing it to bounce backwards before regaining its course towards the boy.

He kept throwing fireballs at the hammer as it kept attempting to return to him, thus hoping to improve his aim. The fireballs were small, doing nothing more than causing the hammer to bounce away before it regained its path towards Fefnir.

It was the perfect sparring partner, it never got tired or hurt, and he could stop it at any time by sticking his arm out.

The busy excitement of the city was a bit much for her lately. She had not been sleeping well as of late. After some thought, she decided she needed a day off. She and Valen had decided to go visit a place that was calm and still. They had arrived in the early morning by the lake and Valen had taken to his hybrid form. He had been reading not far from the lake, but had now taken to napping. Ornell herself had gone without her armor or blades or shoes, leaving them near the now resting form of a steel dragon.

She was perched on a low branch of a lovely ash that was growing out over the water. Her bear feet were dangling off so that they were just barely underneath the water. She saw small golden fish near who were both curious about her and afraid of her at the same time. She smiled softly. Then the silence was broken quite abruptly as a fireball hit the lake. She was on her feet intently, standing where she had been sitting. Then a hammer came out over the water from the right and as it was coming back, fireball after fireball was being thrown at it.

She went back along the branch to the shore and saw Valen watching her, sitting up and ready to stand. She signaled for him to stay where he was and made her way through the trees. She reached a clearing and saw a young man there. There was no foe… no danger. From the looks of things, he was practicing. She sighed softly and felt herself relax once again. She made her way back to Valen. “Someone practicing. No danger. I do think I will go talk with him though.” She said as she retrieved her orb from her bag and held it in her hand as she went back to the clearing.

She then walked out of the trees and right for him. “Good day for some practice? I’m not sure how useful that is though.” She gestured out toward the hammer over the lake.
