| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The sun was slowly starting to fall, the sky that was once blue was now turning into a dull color. Hints of pink, red, orange and many other colors could be seen, peaking out from the horizon that slowly stole the sun away from any creatures eyes. The water clashed together, smoothly, in a steady pace. Boats were already set in place, the wood would have rest for the dark night to come. The men that worked the docks walked along the wooden platforms, making their daily duties. Everyone else in the town were beginning to also prepare for the night. Young kids were going inside to their comfy houses, the working people going to relax. The lights shined brightly through the windows of all the buildings still alive inside. There was a woman, by the name if Aoide. No last name, only called by the name Aoide. Not many knew of this woman, for she was very to these lands. When she was a young lady, and even as a child, she grew up around the ocean. The ocean was her life, and it was the most cherished thing from her past. Her human parents, still unknown to this day, had abandoned her when she was only a baby. After discovering what she was, they knew it was the best thing to do, to let her grow up around the ocean. She was raised by some ocean folks, the ocean creatures taking her in her care. Sitting on the sand, her long hair fell down her back, and even on the ground. It was a shade of green, mixed in with blue. Her skin, was that almost of the color same as her skin, it was light and like a humans, but also had a certain twist to it, which by any naked eye, it was obvious she was not fully human. The twist was that it was also, like her hair, a mixture of blue and green. Her ears were pointed, but not as pointed as an elf ear. Raising her hands, her fully black pupils starred at them, lingered as she studied every little feature about them. It was webbed, and so was her feet. The water was starting to cover more of the shore, rising to the shore, then slowly subsiding back into the ocean. Gently touching her feet, it broke her concentration on her hands, her eyes lingering over to her webbed feet, and then to the ocean. It was no secret to her that she was who she was, and not like the humans that she had seen most at Taras. Taras had taken an interest to her, not too long ago. Above her, she could hear footsteps, making her head shoot quickly up to stare at the wooden ceiling. Through the cracks, she could see the little light through it, then as a foot would cover it, it was dark. It would continue in a never ending cycle, light, and then no light, light, and then no light, light, and then no light. And so forth. The walking had finally stopped after a few minutes. Looking slowly back over to the distance of the ocean, she watched as the little sun that was still left, disappear once again. The night was cold, as a sudden, light breeze started to caress her face. Closing her eyes, she sat there in the blissful silence. |
