Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Brahms could not help but look at the woman. When Erolam revealed himself, he was a bit larger then he seemed to his eyes. Then was the shapeshifting to the hybrid tiger form. A roar and a bark came from his throat. Natural reflexes. Rarely a dog and a cat became friend, and it was not now that he will become hers.

"Mutt?"He grinned. Sure, that was a great advantage that lycanthropes had. The smelling. So no surprised that she recognized what he was."Listen pussycat, ya may be cute but that's all, like every other beast of your type, you'll ran away when ya realize that the situation is out of yer control. So either be a good girl or..."

But the fight started no time, a pure match of power versus speed. The lycan was one mix between the two and helped with Teazon, the teakon, he was going towards power and keeping his speed. As soon as she would try to ran away, he would get her, but only if he...

And he started to. His nails becoming shaprer and black, his body hairier and hairier, with grey eyes narrowing on his possible prey. The hybrid wolf was there back on the feild and ready to take on the were-tiger. He observed the elf behind him, and recognized her. She was the elf loooking for the dark god, Seele,'s help. He had met a the temple of darkness.

Then he turned to a just aweakening young man, he would better watch for this brat, even have to teach him a lesson. A deadly and painful one. Thanks to the smell of darkness coming out of Erolam, Brahms called upon his own unholy aura. Teazon was nice to lend his powers to him, as he was going out for yet, another bloodbath.

"A piece of meat out of her? Sure...."But the tigerish woman was fast, perhaps too fast for her.[/color]"If you ever get her, tell me if ya need help cuz we can let her beat ya up, humiliating us, or only you. Master lynth won't be happy to heard about something like that."It was true, either Divschatten or only Erolam would get his name dirtied in the mud, but Brahms did not wanted neither of them dirtied.

Oh no...

Donner shook his head as the man off to the side began transforming. The whole street was full of monsters. A Demon, a Were-tiger, and what looked like a Werewolf. The girl off to the side was probably the most dangerous of them all. Probably shot lightning out of her eyes at will, or something equally nasty. Either way this was getting way too bad for him. Time to end it.

The spell was not very difficult. A slight hand motion here, a mumbled word there, and suddenly a fist sized ball the color of lead sat in his palm. It was light, almost like air, but he knew that it would fly straight to where he threw it. And it did. Right out towards the fighters he threw the ball, and closed his eyes tightly and covered his ears right before the thing went off.

A flashburst spell, used properly, can do all sorts of things. Throw it in a room, and deal with the blind and deaf occupants. Or throw it at people as a distraction, cover for your escape. Either way, the idea was to ride out the blast, or be safely under cover when it went off. With no other choice, he'd be riding this one out.

Bang.

Erolam chuckled at her weak taunts. "Not afraid. I find i much like the feeling of flesh tearing, running across the stained saw blade of my weapon." He grinned. He was no fan of taunting, but word meant to strike fear usually stuck true, helped along by his large and powerful image. Threats seemed to make the kill more enjoyable.

"And you will find I prefer keeping my flesh attached to my body."

Erolam chuckled simply at this comment. “A pity. I dislike eating my prey whole. But I guess I can see what I can do for your request.” His face grew into a sneer, words becoming snarls.

The two locked into an elaborate dance, she was obviously more agile, throwing in a blow whenever she could manage it, but each individual blow did little to him. Each missed swipe drew a new wave of anger from him.

Brahms caught his eye and Erolam looked over at him. The werewolf had turned and spoke something about the Guild he hadn’t caught. Erolam looked over at the boy who had been the reason to start the fight. He was up and casting.

Erolam cursed as the ball flew his way, not understanding what it was until it exploded in a flash of light. The burst blinded him momentarily, Making him back away from the elf. One hand still brandished the glaive and the other rubbed at his eyes, vision coming back bit by bit. What he could see was blurred and moving about. The demon found his cloak and snarled as he swept it over himself.

“Find yourself lucky Elf, for the boy has saved your life for another day. Do not think this is over.” He growled, a dark rumbling, heavy laden with an unholy power. From the cloak one large hand rose, a single finger pointing at the child. “And you, little magician. I will find you when you sleep, and I will make burning to death seem quick and painless. Mark my words.” He growled low and walked over next to Alice, A hand going up to rest on her shoulder.

“Shall we leave, Dear Alice?” He whispered to her. The woman and Brahms were the only Allies here, and he had only known Alice well enough to call her a real friend. Brahms was a friendly associate, allied through the guild for now. Perhaps they would find some other time to become better aqquainted.

Divschatten's Dark Lady

Alice had been watching the battle with slight interest, it was not everday one could watch something like this on a normal street. "Our money on Erolam, beacuse to me it don´t look like the woman can win, she is quick but the question is if she can keep it up for to long?" It said with a giggle, Alice did not talk against her because that was what she thinking anyway. The woman just smiled and moved her gaze around, people was starting to gather around the area, watching the battle. Well how nice for them then.

The sorceress was surprised by the flash and was blinded my it, she covered her face with the arm of her dress and it took a few seconds before the effect was gone, just like with Erolam. She lowered her arm and shook her head slightly to shake the feeling of him. Then she stretched her back. She felt the hand on her shoulder and noticed that Erolam was next to her, she heard him whisper in her ear. The effect was not gone, but she could hear him since he was so close. "Why of course" she said with a smile. "I see no reason why to stay any longer anyway. Besides more powerful people are bound to come anytime and it would be a little messy then. I´m sure you will have your return on your enemies some other time my dear. Who knows, might be something even better then" she giggled and moved one hand trough her hair. This had not been such a bad day after all.

Fara're leapt back as the flash went off. It blinded her only for a brief moment.

She snarled looking around for the enemy spellcaster, only to find that is was the child. She looked at the boy in surprise, there was more to this kid than met the eye.

She then glared at the foe before her. "No this is not over...and maybe next time you will be brave enough to face me without your friends backing you up," she said.

Her golden eyes then flashed to Alice. "Let it be known I have taken note of who you seem to call allies. I doubt we will be having a friendly chat again," she stated.

She waited till they had all left before transforming back to her elven form. She then walked over the the boy. "Well...looks like you are more than just a defenseless child," she said softly. "You might just saved my life and I thank you for that. I am Fara're by the way."

She gave the boy a friendly smile. She hoped he would not be afraid of her know seeing what she was.

When Donner opened his eyes he expected the others to be reeling about in blindness. No surprise there. But how quick they were to regain their sight! Before he had gotten up and ran ten paces they were shrugging off the spell.

Strangely enough they were all stopping the fight. Physically unwounded, they seemed to give up on spilling blood for the moment. The big demon spilled threats, threats he probably was very capable of fulfilling, but threats nonetheless. At another time, he'd have to watch his back, but for today he was safe.

I've made an enemy, hopefully the first of many.

The were-tiger approached, but obviously without evil intent. If it fought demons, Donner reasoned, it was a friend of his. He stood firm as it approached, but slightly blinked when it transformed into the elf who had tried to heal him earlier. An unfortunate attempt, but it's intent was good, and he liked her for it.

"Fara're. FAra Ray. faRA ray. Faira reh." Donner played with the word, trying to get the pronunciation down. "Elven's a pain. How do I say your name?" He sighed.

He didn't know what to do next. With the demon promising him a slow death, he needed to get out of Kellen, try to warn his mother to stay away from him, and maybe, just maybe, find a way to defend himself from demonic attacks. But should he include Fara're? If so, how should he ask for her help? Caring for others was such a confusing think when his instincts said kill them.

She laughed a bit as he struggled to say her name. "Fara're," she repeated. "You can just call me Fara if you want."

She looked at his cloths and shook her head. He needed better things, and it looked like he needed food too. She took off her cloak and put it around the boy, it was a cold night.

"Do you want me to stay with you until we can get you back home?" she asked. "I will me more than happy to get you some proper cloths and a warm meal. But for a small price."

She gave him a serious look like she expected some task or gold for payment. "That price is...you must tell me your name." She then broke into a smile and waited for the lad to tell her his name.

"Donner," he said as he walked home. "and I thank you for any help you can give. More important than my own hunger and wellbeing right now is my mother's safety. She needs to be warned, hidden somewhere safe, provided for."

Donner didn't know enough about the world outside of Kellen to have a place in mind to hide her. She needed a quiet place far enough from everything that she would never be found, or someplace that would be able to defend her. It was a burden that weighed down on him with an almost physical force.

He slumped against the wall of a nearby building and put his head in his hands. He wasn't supposed to be doing these things yet! He was meant to enjoy a childhood, not plan refuge for his guardian and act as a distraction for her. There was so much to do and none of his life felt real. "I don't know where to take her. I don't know what to do." Donner snarled through his hands, "I don't know anything usefull!"

Every time. Every damn time he got worked up, his demonic heritage spoke up. Now it was just a horrible screeching chittering wail asking, begging, commanding, pleading, ordering that he kill Fara're. It took a hard effort to still that voice of madness. Someday it would be the death of him, but not today.

"Help me."

Fara're nodded. "I will help you, Donner. I don't know much about this area either as I was not raised in Imythess."

She paused and thought for a moment, "But as I was traveling here I did see an elven village not too far from here. They might be willing to let your mother stay there. I highly doubt that the elves will let our 'friends'"

She stood and looked down the dark alley way, the direction her foes had run. She did not want to stay standing here much longer, there was no knowing if or when they would return.

She looked down to Donner. She would need to do something to make sure they were not followed or able to be tracted. She turned her back to him a knelt down.

"Get on my back," she said. "Direct me to where your mother lives. I will take us so we can't be tracted. That wolf will be able to follow my scent if take the direct route." She looked up to the roofs of the building. "But thankfully I can take us off of the direct route."

Donner paused.

Rooftops? They were supposed to go home on the roofs? They'd stick out like a sore thumb up there, a woman and a child running along roofs jumping from building to building. They'd be lucky if the whole village didn't know they they were there.

And if the werewolf got up there? With is demon friend? There'd be no place to go but down.

"I'm seeing some problems with your plan. All they have to do to find where I live is ask. If you really want to lose the wolf, there's a market..." Donner looked around for a second and started running. "Over here!"

Surely the market wold have at least a few onions for sale. He didn't know for sure, but figured that onions were not something he liked to smell, so maybe something with a much powerull nose would dislike them even more. Crunch one, smear it on your feet and legs, and every step you make reeks of onions. If you wanted something really unholy, you just had to find a gutter in an alley. Sticking that stuff on his feet was beyond him, even as bad as things were.

Almost under his breath, Donner kept repeating, "Onions, onions, where are the onions?" in demon speech.

Fara're just shook her head. The child seemed to think she would let people see her on the roofs. Not likely. SHe had not lived on her own for the past 60 years by letting herself get spotted. She was part cat, and cats knew how to move without being seen. Besides she would not run around on the roof tops in this form anyways, she only did that in her feline body.

But she decided not to argue the point. With one more glance over her should she made sure that no enemies were around. She then gave Donner a nod, "What ever you like. Lead the way."

She followed him to the market. She cocked her head as he began speaking a language she could not understand. "Might I ask what you are saying?" she asked. "But we better keep moving. If you are thinking to cover our smell...it won't work. Nothing we can get here will mask it well enough. Trust me, I know." She tapped her own nose to empasize her point.

SHe had track people before in her tiger form, and very few people have been able to fool her scent. She did not know how strong the wolf's sense of smell was, but she was not about to test it out. She had heard stories of how powerful a dogs nose was.
