Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Fehade
No Avatar

Fehade slipped into the shadows of a alley, looking out into the street. It was midnight now, it was the safest time for Fehade to walk about in his true form. When in daylight, he would use his alter self spell, so no one could see his red tinted skin, and red eyes. He soon strolled out into the darkness when he saw a candlelight in a house go out. He walked towards that house, and soon made it to the front door, when there, he knocked on the small house, and his eyes brightened with annoyance as he waited for the elf Mara.

Then, the door flew open, and Mara stood a few feet away, wearing a black silk robe. Her black hair hung down her shoulders. Her gaze was dark, but seemed a little distracted. He walked into the house, and slammed the door shut. The room was dark, and since he couldn't see well in darkness, it was darker then normal in his vision. He held out a pouch, that was bulging. Mara took it quickly, and let her long robe sleeve fall over it. She turned away, and started to walk into a different room.

Fehade growled, and stepped forward, grabbing her arm then pinned her against the wall.

"Wheres my new spell you promised me, Mara?" He hissed coldly. He then felt a sharp pain against his side. He looked down, and a look of anger twisted on his face. Mara let go of the bone hilted dagger, that stuck part way in Fehade's side. He looked back at the elf, who merely looked at him coldly.

"Thats a warning, Fehade, to never touch me again." She said, and put two fingers against his chest and pushed him back. He let go of her, and stepped back, and pulled the dagger out, not even flinching at the sharp pain that ran through his body. He handed it back to her. She took it, and a thin smile came across her face. "You serve me well, Fehade. You always get the jobs done. Though, you kill too many people in the process, but, it only matters if its done." She said, her voice still cruel sounding.

"I'm only interesting in getting more power, Mara, and I am not being able to accomplish that with those errands you send me on. You owe me more spells. I will never be able to kill Hakri if he still thinks I'm weak." Fehade said, his anger blazing with anger.

Sighing, Mara walked over to a desk, and took hold of a scroll, and handed it to Fehade, who opened it and scanned it. A cruel smile played across his face, then he folded it again.

"Fire is deadly, and destructive. I'm sure you'll find uses for it." Mara said, smirking.

Fehade smiled in a evil way, then he turned on his heel, and walked out the way he came. He went down the streets, needing to get something else Mara needed. He didn't like running all these errands for Mara's spells and such, but he wanted more power, mainly to bring down his father, that has always been one of Fehade's goal, revenge. Hopefully, it would be soon, if Mara kept her word to keep giving Fehade more spells, then everything would go smoothly for him. But he trusted Mara, so he believed she would, after all, she did owe him for helping her escape, but then, he supposed he owed her also, since she had saved his life the day after he was banished.

He shook his head. All that was meaningless now, all he wanted was to kill his father, and his half-sister Zehavya, then he would be happy, and give the Divschatten his full attention. He walked down the dark streets, considering calling Evier, but he figure it'd be best to walk and not have a nightmare walking about town. He turned down in alley, hoping it would get him to where he was going faster, but he didn't know this place all to well, he hasn't been in Taras much, since he never had much luck here, first running into a paladin, and then a high elf, Kyrus, who Fehade also wanted dead. He walked on, wondering if he was going the right way.

Slowly, Miralay crawled around the rooftops. The moonlight lightly reflected upon her beautyful pale skin, giving her an almost ghostly look. One quick glance at her and it was obvious she was starved and dehydrated. Slowly she followed this man, she did not know why, but her instincts urged her to follow him. Who was she? she didnt remember...What was she? she didnt know. And honestly she didnt care at the moment, her hunger was more important. She could smell the mans flesh...it smelled good, very good. She had been following him since he had left Mara's house.

The instincts urged her more, they wanted her to go down in front of the man.

And like a drone she listened to her basic instincts...those of survival.
She lightly jumped down the small house she was on, bruising her leg lightly on the landing. She slowly got neared the demon, not caring if she made noise or not.

She stared at him, with a hungry gaze...she was lost and did not know what to do...oh why was she so hungry?!

Erolam stalked the streets of Taras, avoiding the watchful eyes of the guard. His deed was not a pleasant one, yet it had been carried out, with a minute mistake that could have put his mission at risk. He sighed audibly, staying in the shadows for cover. He walked calmly, blending into the shadows. A clanking sound was approaching his way. They would have trouble finding a dark-skinned tiefling at midnight, but that was their problem. He himself was accustomed to to the night, when he preferred to do his work.

Tonight he had raided a tomb for something supposedly stolen from his client, but the caretaker was out and about, seeing somebody there. Erolam, surprised the the man's showing up, struck him in the temple with his mace. He tossed the caretaker into the grave and buried it. He had escaped with the amulet, but had forgotten the shovel and the bloodhound. The damned dog was with the guards now, sniffing him out.

As the guards got closer, Erolam backtracked and took an alleyway. He watched from the shadows as the dog sat, confused. It decided upon his previous route, as the smell was stronger. He sighed and continued walking, listening joyously as the guards reprimanded the beast for finding the wrong place. He heard all the commotion from here.

“...Damned dog, doesn't even know where it's supposed to go. Things useless...” The voice trailed as the guard took the dog back.

Erolam let a smile play across his lips. He had escaped.

The tiefling continued on, looking ahead, hoping this job he had to do would be easy, and fast, he was just supposed to steal something from another wizard that Mara wanted, and he was supposed to kill the wizard too, he didn't know why Mara wanted the wizard dead, but he could care less, he loved spilling blood, loved seeing it flow freely from a body, so he just wouldn't question Mara, she had her own thing to accomplish, and he had his, they never question that.

He heard a footstep behind him, and the crunching of the cobblestone ground. He stopped in his tracks, and turned quickly towards the person who was following him, and pulled out his katana Aparul in a swift movement. He held the weapon at his side, ready to use it. He looked over at the person, and saw that it was a woman, and beautiful at that. He looked her over, and then stared into her eyes, his red eyes glowing with annoyance. He saw the hunger in her eyes, and he then wondered what she was.

"Who the hell are you?" He snapped. He gripped his sword tighter, considering the option of just chopping her head off or something, but he would feel a little guilty for destroying such beauty.

Brahms was jumping from roof to roof. He had entered the own with the tiefling and they got their seperate way, they had been to suppose to join him later. But it's been hours from that and he had been tell by a misterious bat, a familiar from the Divshatten headquarters to gather all the members as soon as possible. There was another member in town one named Erolam.

He knew that Fehade could be busy and if he had no sign it meant no trouble. On second thougth maybe not. The tiefling was so imbued by his own proudness that he forgot about his own safety.
Let him, find the other. This was Teazon, the demon within the lycan. A monster within a monster. The bard grinned to that sentence.

The demon had awaken few days ago only. It had talked about gathering the most powerfuls members of the demon guild to release upon the world a vengeful demon who would obey the caster. The idea of having such power was really interesting to the half-elf. He could not refuse.

He then saw city guards. What was that all? He followed them from above. But there was something weird in the air. Unholy, it had to be Erolam near. He saw the dogs looking around, they were far from the man he wanted. With a bump, the werewolf appeared in all of his glory.

The dogs growled and barked at him. So he did it too, provoking the canines beast. The first jumped at him and was thrown on the wall, bonecrushed under the palm of the wolfman. Another dog jumped towards the lycan but was quickly grabbed and his neck broke making an echoe down the street. The other dogs ran away, followed by the guards who wanted their dogs back. "
You can come out now, there won't be after you anymore."Neither could he see the wanted member, but he could well smell his presence.

Erolam's smile only grew. The lycan was an intriguing specimen, showing such a display of power so openly. His essence felt more like two beings rather than one. Erolam attributed this to some form of demonic infusion, of which he himself desired, to become an even stronger demon. His desires were purely beneficiary to himself and his ventures.

“You can come out now. They won't be after you anymore.”

I thank you, lycan. Without your assistance, one of the dogs would have found me out.” He spoke, still in the shadows. His gravelly voice echoed through the alleyway, not revealing his presence. He enjoyed games.

Do you have a purpose in seeking me out, or is there some other reason you've come to assist a hidden tiefling?” He asked, curious. The lycan seemed to have a cause for this, and Erolam was going to find out what it was, for good or for bad. Not many people willingly come after one such as himself, so the man may be a friend. Even so, he unstrapped his mace and held it upside down, running the length of his arm, ready to lash out.

The stolen amulet was tucked under his shirt, it did not need to be delivered right away, but it couldn't hurt his reputation in the Taras alleyways as a reliable thief and hireling. He had started only recently, but if the guild called him out, he was there in a heartbeat. His life was for the guild, nothing came before that, save for his deepest desires, a craving for power and control.

I thank you, lycan. Without your assistance, one of the dogs would have found me out.

"
No prob, for now i'm only a simple watch dog, doing errands for the guild. But i proven myself, a demon had chosen me. By the way, my name is Brahms.[/b]"He got smaller and more human. His demonic mark as a tatoo around his eye."And you must be Erolam." He turned around looking at the corpses of the dogs.

Do you have a purpose in seeking me out, or is there some other reason you've come to assist a hidden tiefling?

"
Divshatten will be making a meeting soon. They asked me to go after you and another one. But i was with him when we entered but... He sighed. And turned around try to see where the tiefling could be hidden. " We splitted up and now i must look for him too..."

If he could prove himself by the doing the errands and beeing nice to the other member of the guild, they could let him join them. Atleast he hoped, he wanted to join them and make a massacre so bad in Imythess. Beeing one of the lord of the abyss. Brahms, lord of the abyss. Nice title.

Who the hell are you

These words hit Miralay like an arrow. She simply looked at Fehade as she walked around him, licking her lips.

W-who am i?...i do not remember...

Suddenly great pain swept accross her and she fell to her knees, her arms crossed clinging to her shoulders. Her nails where sunk so deep within her flesh, blood started to drip from her shoulders. Her eyes twitched at the site of blood, her mouth became watery as her body urged her to drink...

Her gaze returned to Fehade.

The question...is more what am i? i cant remember anything...exept...this hunger, this thirst that i cant seem to shut down...AAAAGH!

The sight of blood had unleashed a wave of thirst so strong that Miralay could barely think, the pain was undescribable.
Slowly, she crawled towards the demon. She needed to feed, and she was starting to understand what her body wanted.

Red...hot...blood...

But somehow she wasnt able to focus on getting Fehade as a "meal", he had a strange aura that caused her senses to resist the temptation of jumping on him...

Give me...blood...

W-who am i?...i do not remember...

He watched her walked around him. His blood red eyes shimmering with annoyance, but then curiosity. How did she not know who she was? Amnesia? No. It was something more. He watched her fall to her knees. He made no move to help her, but merely watched her clench herself and draw blood. He looked into her eyes, his seeming to be dull, but curiosity lingered in them, deep in them.

The question...is more what am i? i cant remember anything...exept...this hunger, this thirst that i cant seem to shut down...AAAAGH!

He cocked he head. Vampire? So far she seemed to be acting like one, the hunger in her eyes, but normally, vampires don't forget who they are when they want to feed, but then again, he barely read up on all the types of vampires there are. He ran into one vampire once, one he tried to kill because of his annoyance toward it, but the vampire had gotten away. This one acted more differently.

The woman started crawling towards him, very weak from the hunger. He crouched down when she was near, and looked at her.

Give me...blood...

He smiled, in a almost cruel way.

"Vampire? That what you are? Well, If I had a heart I'd give you some, sadly though, I'm busy. No time to let a vampire to drink me dry." He said. He stood up, and took a few steps back. He would have left, but he didn't think he could leave her here to die, even if he has let hundreds of innocents die.

Slowly, the Katane managed to stand up. Yes he was right...she understood now. She seemed to be part vampire. So it was blood she craved after all?

interesting... she thought.

She looked at fehade.
Oh she would simply take a bite out of him...in more than one way.
She walked up to the man until she was face to face with him and looked at him straight in the eyes.
If you wont give me your blood...

Her head went towards the demons neck, her harsh breath slightly pushing the mans hair.

Slightly baring her canines, she whispered to his ear in a hungry, yet melodious voice.

Then find me someone who is willing...or not...to feed me

She held of her urges to simply bite a chunk out of Fehade, causing her hands to twitch.

He stood where he was, even when she walked up to his face. His eyes stayed on hers, his red eyes never wavered.

If you wont give me your blood...

He couldn't help but smirk slightly when he felt her breath on his neck. This vampire was interesting, very interesting. He put the tip of his katana on the cobblestone, but kept a tight grip on it, in case the vampire tried to do something. He listened to her voice near his ear.

Then find me someone who is willing...or not...to feed me

He was tempted to get her something to feed on, to see how she acted without the hunger, but he had a job, but it didn't have to be done right away, he had all week to get it done, if he didn't get the job done by the end of the week, then Mara wouldn't give him what he wanted, and he needed more power. Though, if he refused, he had a feeling that she would try to drink his blood, and he really didn't feel like killing this girl.

"I don't think I have much of a choice, darlin', either its kill you, which I don't want to do, or find you something to feast upon." He said, smiling cruelly.

Then, as if on cue, a troop of four guards came walking down the streets. A patrol. The guards saw them and started walking down the street. Fehade stepped back from the girl, a cruel smile on his face. It was like the smile his father used, cruel and evil, and smooth. He turned he head towards the guards, his red eyes gleaming deadly.

"Just on time, now aren't we, sir guards?" Fehade said, and grinned. His right hand gripped Aparul, the katana that was out, then his left hand took hold of his second katana, Ismon, and he pulled it out. It was like near impossible to wield two katanas, but Fehade was trained to since he could hold a weapon. "Why don't we play?" Fehade said, and he then charged at the guards. They quickly drew their weapons, realizing who he was, since there were wanted posters for the tiefling.

Fehade made it to the first guard, and cut him down with a swipe of one katana across his neck, slicing the guards head clean off his shoulders. The second guard who reached Fehade first was a little harder to kill. The second guard lunged at Fehade. The tiefling dodged the blade by a side step, but the guard quickly slashed at him. Fehade blocked with Ismon, then stabbed with Aparul, the blade cutting under the guards sword arm, making the man drop his longsword. Fehade grinned, as he slid his right katana between the mans armor, and into his side. The third guard charged at Fehade like the others, he swung his two-handed longsword at Fehade's head, but the tiefling ducked, then lashed out with a vicious kick, hitting the guard in the chest, but the man wore plate mail, and only stumbled slightly, but it gave Fehade enough time to make deep cuts into the mans legs in between the armor. The man fell to his knees in pain. Fehade looked at the fourth guard, who was now terrified of the tiefling, and turned around and ran. Fehade didn't give chase, but merely watched the guard go, then he looked at the third guard, who was staring up at him pleadingly.

Grinning, Fehade looked over his shoulder to the vampire girl.

"Think I've found your dinner." He said.

Erolam grinned at the young one in front of him. He spoke with a hidden, faint tone of kindness, and a hint of hope in there too. Erolam liked hope. It made the games all the more fun. He dismissed the stream of thoughts, thinking instead of what was to be done now. He thought for a moment on what the boy had said. The guild was calling for a meeting. And that meant dropping the current objective and going along with the boy. Erolam gave a toothy grin, stepping from his shadowy cover. His black skin was neatly concealed in the night, save for the small, contrasting stripes, much like those of a tiger. He brushed hair from his black eyes, Searching the boy in better light.

His hooves made a deep clicking sound on the alleyway. He smiled and strapped his mace back to his belt. “I am happy for your achievement, finding a willing demon to fuse with your soul. A nice bonus to any warrior.” he grinned again. “Brahms, you say? I'll have to remember that name.” He said coolly.

If the guild calls, then I must answer.” Was his simple reply. He always thought of himself a little polite for such a beast. He watched a canine form twitch on the ground, still alive. He planted a foot into the creature's skull, crushing it. He reached down and dipped a finger into an open wound, placing the finger in his mouth and sucking on it thoughtfully. The blood was a pleasing, metallic taste. He smiled.

Canine blood is a little too...sweet for me. I prefer a good, strong flavor. Like elves.” He exclaimed randomly, into open air. He did not care what other thought of his ways, he was pleased with his acts, and so he would stay.

Well, then. Let's go find our friend.”

The man was happy to see te face of the so called Erolam. Atleast he would know someone more in the guild. Aether, Fehade and now him. Nice asset among the guild members. The half-elf brushed his back and smiled at the tiefling.

I am happy for your achievement, finding a willing demon to fuse with your soul. A nice bonus to any warrior

Of that, the bard knew. He was more of the type to fight with his bare hand. Or claws depending on the situation. He nodded as he walked back in the street. Where were does guards? And even more important where was this stubborn Fehade? What was he up to?

If the guild calls, then I must answer

He heard the thief says in hie back. "
That's my motto, even though i'm not a full member yet...." This thought made him a little upset. Hoe long before getting in? Right now he was doing an important task, and he hoped tp be rewarded by getting in Divschatten.

Canine blood is a little too...sweet for me. I prefer a good, strong flavor. Like elves.

That comment made laughed outloud the lycan. He liked the humour of Erolam this could be entertaining.:
Well, don't try me, I'm a half-elf werewolf. Just imagine the taste i would have!" Suddenly he heard a sound. People were fighting. It had to be Fehade. "Hope he did not do anything stupid."He said outloud. He rushed in the streets to see the source of the fight and he saw the tiefling among injured city guards.

"
Fehade! What's happening here?" His eyes widened as he saw the woman. He spared her?!?"Are you getting soft? Are your just wa nt a good time with this lady tonight?"He asked while grinning. This guy sure was interesting.

Miralay observed the fight with interest, her eyes twitched each time a droop of blood was spilt. She followed the last guards for a moment with her eyes...no he was going to be her meal, she couldnt let him escape. Grabing her bow, she pulled on the string and shot at the mans back. The wooden arrow struck in the mans back leg, where there was no armor. The guard fell in pain and started to sob...he was so scared!

The katanes body simply pushed itself to the first guard. He was bleeding heavily, she had to act quickly if she wanted to feed on him.

Sinking her fangs in him, she started to drink. She was so starved, she didnt simply drink, she chewed on the mans neck, ripping up his flesh into a weird mix of skin and blood. Once the man was "empty" she tossed him aside violently and let out a bestial roar of tryumph.

Her eyes quickly turned to the second man, fehade had sliced his legs so he couldnt move. She gave this one a similar treatment, exept it lasted longer and the man still had the strenght to feel the pain. As the blood flowed withing her, the memories of her past slowly came back. Her name, her age, her lonelyness...the begining of her hunger...and then it was blank. But no matter, she had regained what was hers.

The now fully aware Miralay got up and stood there, looking at the last guard.

NO PLEASE SPARE ME!, I DONT WANT TO SERVE TO SATISFY YOUR HUNGER!!!!

Miralay burst out with a terrible, cruel laughter.
She spoke as she slowly walked towards the guard. Her movement was slow and smooth, almost feline.

Ooooh, it is not my hunger that your going to satisfy...its my lust

She sat on the man (who was lying on his back) as if riding him and pushed her hair out of her face.

The guard, completely desperate, tryed to hit her witha punch, but she quickly grabed the mans arm and sunk her nails in his flesh, causing a small trickle of blood to flow.

Now now...be a good desert will you? She said as she licked the blood on his arm.

she then slowly pressed her body against the terryfied man and slowly sunk her fangs in the last of her meals... but this one was simply for pleasure, so she simply let the blood touch her tongue for the taste. Once she was finished shegot up and wiped the blood from her chin.

Looking at Fehade she spoke in a melodious voice.

Next time, give me a worthy meal...not some scum....but i guess i am still thankfull, since i do feel better.

She walked up to the demon infused "savior", completely ignoring the good looking half elf and thief.

placing her hand on his chest she spoke in almost a whisper.

Hmmm, nice and strong...if ever theres a way i can repay you...name it

On her last words, a mischevious grin apeared on her face, slightly showing off her pointy teeth.

He walked away from the guard he stood over, but he didn't go far. His two katanas were still in his hand, in a loose grip. He watched as the vampire started to drink the blood from the one she shot down. He felt slightly disgusted at watching her rip his flesh, but he was used to the sort of thing, well, killing things and seeing a lot of blood. He enjoyed seeing blood, sometime when he killed he would feel happy about it, and it always gave him a odd feeling. A wide, near crazed grin came across his face, when he heard the last guards pleas. He always love hearing innocent people beg for mercy, but his attention was soon drawn away from the girl, and to the half-elf lycan, Brahms.

"Fehade! What's happening here? Are you getting soft? Are your just wa nt a good time with this lady tonight?"

Fehade's face twisted in anger and a deadly glint flashed through his bright red eyes, but his eyes seemed to dull, and looked darker, more like pools of blood. He thought it was pretty obvious to what was happening, killing guards and letting the vampire feast. But it was the getting soft part Fehade despised the most. He didn't care if the lycan meant it seriously, or as a joke, Fehade never tolerated being called soft, or weak. He spun his left katana expertly, then the right, actually considering the thought of punishing the lycan for even just saying such a thing.

"Don't ever think me soft, lycan. Or shall we see how soft I am after a cleave your head from your shoulders?" He snapped, eyes lighting up with the idea. He again spun in katanas in a expertly fashion, then he sheathed the swords into there scabbards. His cold hard gaze still on the lycan, till it wandered over to the other tiefling and stayed there a moment. Fehade knew the tiefling was from thew guild, but he couldn't remember meeting him yet.

He saw movement in the corner of his eye, and turned, looking at the vampire woman, who seemed to be finally done with her meal.

Next time, give me a worthy meal...not some scum....but i guess i am still thankfull, since i do feel better.

He smiled thinly. "Best I could do for now." He said. Though, if the guards hadn't come around that corner, Fehade would have most likely left her, let her die, or try to fend for herself. He didn't have much feeling of kindness left, not since what happened to him when he saved his half-sister Zehavya's life. He would hate to go through that again. Being banished from his family was not a fun thing to go through.

He stared in her eyes when she placed her hand on his chest, and he smirked slightly.

Hmmm, nice and strong...if ever theres a way i can repay you...name it

He raised his hand and traced one finger down her jawline. This girl had sparked his interests, and she was very attractive. He would have liked to spend more time with her, but he knew he had jobs to complete, and playing with a girl wasn't going to get it Mara's jobs accomplished, and then, of course he had a father who wanted him to find Fehade's sisters, the tiefling barely had time to enjoy himself.

"Maybe when I have some free time." He said quietly, grinning, then he stepped back, and turned towards the lycan and other tiefling.

"Now, what do you want?" He said coldly. He was sick of others trying to find him. He had to much to do, and didn't want to deal with friends at the moment. He stood there, one of his hand resting on Aparul.

"Told you it was foolish to join a guild when in your search for power. You'll never accomplish anything with so much to do. Just do your jobs with the dark mage and get the power you deserve, then take out your father, after that, everything will go smoothly and you can go to the guild with the duties they give you." Rraezanon's voice hissed through Fehade's head. Fehade closed his eyes slightly.

"The guild gives me some allies, and thats what I need. The goal is to get power, but you sometimes need allies to help with some things." Whispered Fehade. He sounded like he was talking to himself, he could just speak in his head, but speaking out was a habit. Luckily, Rreazanon didn't push any further. Fehade would have to speak to the demon infused later.
