| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The sun was shining in Taras, to the pleasure of most. The breeze was calm and gentle. Seemed like the kind of day where there wouldn't be any commotion. However, there was some commotion over at the docks. Today, a large group of Avenites were to set sail for Dravinox. Because of this, the sailors were hard at work, making sure the boats were stocked, and ready. Meanwhile, members of the Avenites walked the streets of Taras to pass the time. There was an inn close to the docks. Here, Sethran Dracogan had taken shelter. For the past few days, he had been training in the Temple of Swords. However, since the Avenites had come the night before, Sethran had to avoid the streets until it was time to leave for Dravinox. Sure, the warrior would still be taken to Dravinox if the Aventies captured him, but it wouldn't be under his terms. Sethran was lying down on his bed, bored. He was anxious to return to his homeland. Unfortunatly, he had to wait on Peral, the mysterious gnome who freed Sethran from the Avenites' headquarters in Istan, and Makorin, a thief who wanted to bring the Avenites down. "Hurry up guys..." the warrior said to nobody in particular, as he turned over towards the window. |

"Perfect day for sailing!" a sailor said to another, "Those Avenites will get to their destination with ease, I tell you." That's what you think! Hiding in one of the barrels aboard the ship these sailors were on was the thief, Makorin. He had been given the task of disabling all the Avenite ships, except for one. Of course, for the theif to pull this off, it'd be best if he wasn't seen. The sailors were currently in the way of that. Just go already! A few minutes later, the sailors left the ship. Makorin then climbed out of the barrel, and headed down into the bottom of the ship. As with the other two ships Makorin had been aboard, the Avenites had stored their spare cannons and ammo down here. Quite stupid, really. Like he had done on the other two ships, Makorin moved one of the cannons to a far corner, and loaded it with one cannonball. He then left this ship, and headed to the fourth and final ship to be set for disabling. Here he did the same thing. This should work well. Now I just need to gather the other two, and then we can hightail it out of here! There was a method to what Makorin was doing. If he made holes in the ship now, they could possibly be dealt with before he, Sethran, and Peral were off to Dravinox. That woudln't be good. Instead, Makorin would wait until the ship they were using was all set to sail. Then, Makorin would sneak aboard the other ships, and fire the cannons, causing them to sink. Then, while the sailors and Avenites were distracted by the commotion, the three men would leave! A perfect plan...Or at least in Makorin's mind it was. A few minutes later, Makorin was in the inn that Sethran had been staying at. He came here, assuming that Sethran would want to be close to the docks. He asked the innkeeper if Sethran was staying here. It turned out Makorin's assumption was right. The theif walked into Sethran's room. "And the Hidden shadow has arrived." he said. He then looked around. Sethran was lying on the bed. Peral, however was nowhere in sight. "Where's the gnome?" he asked, curious. |

(I sincerely apologize for the month long wait. My spring break put me more behind rather than offering the time to catch up.) Things seemed to be going in their favor. The wind was in their favor today as did the strange and stupid habits of the avenites, but their habits were too strange. The lack of secruity they kept was mildly disturbing or at least would be if he could be disturbed. They were likely waiting on Setheran to come by, and inviting him in with an averted gaze. They were possibly waiting till the knight took to sea, before proving their lack of security was only a facade to ensare them. If avenites had forseen that the ships would be sabotauged, then it was most probably that they had a naval force awaiting them out at sea. Nevertheless Makorin's plan would not work. If the theif were to take down one ship, getting out unnoticed would prove difficult, as none of the fuses were that long. Attention would be brought to the ship immediately once the cannon went off. Catching him escaping a sinking ship would be a bit easier. Even if Setheran and Rith were to handle the other two ships at the same time it would still not be a very simple matter to claim the reamining ship with the large crowd, taras gaurd and the defenses that would have been erected on the ship it self. Were they even so to get away on the ship the Taras guard would have more than enough reason to chase them down and bring them in for questioning. Rith had something to remedy all of those problems. Rith pulled away from his scrying as Makorin made his way to Sethran without much problem. It was about time for Peral Forbus and his pet to make their own appearances as well. "Right behind you after figuring out how to best to overcome the flaws in your plan," Rith returned from behind after appearing out of the Hidden Shadow's shadow. The worg was with him once again, but now the worgish form was no longer his true form and far inferior by compairson. "Let's head to the good ship. I shall handle the rest, Makorin," Rith said after catching the theives attention. |

(no prob Ace) Sethran stood up as Makorin and Peral entered the room. "About time!" he said, with a smile, "I was getting bored with this place." The warrior quickly gathered his things, and took a look out the window. The Avenites were still roaming the streets. Not exactly what Sethran wanted. Guess I'll have to risk it... Walking to the two men, he said, "So, what's this plan that needs fixing?" |

Makorin jumped when Peral spoke. After calming down, he looked at him and said, "Yeah, what needs fixing? I set those cannons up. I can fire them when we're ready. Then, we take off while everyone else is confused about the sinking ships. Simple, no?" Makorin wasn't too fond of Peral. He seemed to overanalyze everything, which was the opposite of what Makorin would do. Time is something that shouldn't be wasted. (Ugh.. short posts... I promise they'll get longer once the whole seting sail buisness is done with.) |

"Simple?" Rith laughed. "Assuming you do make it back to the ship in a timely fashion without drawing attention to yourself, and assuming we are able to launch before being stopped, leaving right after the sinking of several ships willl only label us as likely suspects and have the Taras guard trying to catch us and bring us in. I'm they wouldn't buy into the whole out-to-save-the-world thing when we are stealing a ship. Yet, fear not as I have modified the plan of sabotauge and our escape that all we need to is get aboard our the ship. From there I'll take care of the rest," Rith explained as he opened the door. Rith was most amused when he caught wind of Makorin's surface thoughts. Overanylzing and getting it right in a greater a mount of time was far better than underanylzing and getting it wrong in a shorter amount of time, but then again Rith was one of few eternal beings and did not have the life span that loomed over mortals. |

Makorin grumbled as Rith explained himself, and criticized his plans. I thought it was good... "Fine..." he said, "I'll let you handle it. but don't blame it on me if your plan doesn't work." Makorin was now in a bad mood. So far, he had only proven that he was a clumsy amatuer. Yet, his past accomplioshments had been almost legendary! Was he starting to lose his touch? Or was he really not that talented to begin with? Hmph! I'll prove that gnome wrong sooner or later... That, or I'll just punt him when I can't stand it anymore... |

Sethran laughed to himself. Judging on how well his allies got along with each other, he could say that this would be an interesting trip. "Well, as long as we aren't pursued, then all is good." he said, "Now let's get ourselves a boat." The young warrior exited the room, and went downstairs to pay for it. "250 gold, sir." the innkeeper said. He was a chubby little man, with hair practically everywhere except for on top of his head. He wore a suit that looked like it had been in the vicinity of some rats. However, despite the man's appearance, he held a pompous air around him. "250 gold?!" Sethran said, angered, "I stayed here for one night, in the worst room of this entire place! And considering this place looks like a dump overall, that's saying something. Besides, this is a port inn, what the hell are you doing charging that kind of price!" "Too bad, sir." the innkeeper said, "250 gold." Sethran sighed, and tossed a pouch with the desired amount of gold in it. "Fine." he said, "Take it, and get yourself a new suit." The group proceeded outside. The air smelled of salt, but for Sethran, this was better than the inn he had just come out of. The docks were in plain sight to the left from here. The three men headed over there. "Alright..." Sethran said, "We're here....So, which ship is ours?" The warrior eyed the distracted Avenites. Staying in plain sight would be risky. "And poitn it out quick..." he added, "The sooner we're out of sight, the better.." |

Were Rith mortal and not so loosely bound to his body he might have had difficulty repressing the urge to laugh when Makorin reminded himself that he thought his idea was sound. The rogue was far from being as skilled as he thought he was. His accomplishments were most likely well over exaggerated and due more so to luck than skill of any sort. The young thief still had much to learn before his favored alias was even slightly fitting for him. Rith doubted the thief would have the chance to prove him wrong, and he was quite sure that Makorin would be halted with waves of intense near-lethal waves of pain before he pull off any sort of punting. Rith found himself rather annoyed when Sethran dealt with the innkeeper. They both were fools. Were Sethran to have snuck out without paying he would have had a free stay, but the foolishness lied more on Sethran who didn’t even find the find out the price before staying at the inn. He’d put himself in the innkeepers hands and was forced to pay a sum likely larger than the inn’s worth. Sethran didn’t even have that much more to argue the price as he couldn’t do anything that would draw attention to himself and make it easier for the Avenites to catch wind of him. At least the knight wasn’t that much of a fool, but the knight was still quite likely to be done for without Rith’s aid. Once they were at the docks and ready to work on getting on board the ship they would soon claim Rith looked to Makorin. He would leave the plan of getting onto the ship to him. “Lead the way.” |
