| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Without any particular plan in mind on where to go upon his arrival in Taras, Colm found himself in the library. He smiled as he stepped in; he'd always loved books, because of the knowledge they had leant him. He walked up and down the rows of shelves, and along the row of scrolls at the back, occasionally taking one down to read the tags they all had hanging from them. His best find was a book entitled History of Imythess. Well, as long as I'm here, I might as well learn about this place. He took the book over to a table and began to read, his silver-bluish hair obscuring his face. He was so engrossed that he became oblivious to everything around him, his mind picturing everything he read. He heard and saw nothing but what his mind conjured up. |

Souls... she needed to learn more about souls and what could actually be done to one. She was specifically concerned with her own soul and why it was worth anything to someone... The main thing she would like to know is what she could do about it. Sure, one could hide and even remove one’s soul from their body and walk around as they wished… but why did it almost seem like her soul was up for bids? It was just her imagination doing that of course, and she knew it, but the thought bothered her none the less. Once again, Seele had set her to thinking about things and even suspending her training as a Summoner to learn more about the problem behind her reasons for learning to summon on her own. The best thing to do would to figure out where the moon elf had gone off to. She could never seem to find him on more then just completely randomly chance. The same problem had shown up, or it was really the lack of showing up, as far as Lynthaer and Phiros went. She would have to find a better way of getting a hold of people… The library was fairly quiet as she stalked among the shelves on her own in search of what she wanted. She didn’t like the librarians much, and the fact that she had a book that belonged here in her backpack, not really borrowed with any sort of permission, she was also avoiding them. It was then that she saw someone out of the corner of her eye as she went around one of the far ends of a bookshelf. For a split second she thought it was Seele. When she stopped and saw it wasn’t, she was actually fairly disappointed. Part of her just told her to walk away. It swiftly lost to her curiosity though and AD came up behind him and carefully peered over his shoulder. “What are you doin'?” She asked fairly quietly actually, as she didn’t want to draw unwanted attention to herself. She also happened to be right next to his ear. |

Lost in the history book, Colm noticed nothing until he heard a voice in his ear ask "What are you doin'?" As he was so lost in it, the outside noise caused him to start and spin around, nearly upsetting the chair he was sitting on in the process, as his left hand went to the hilt of his dagger. When he saw that it was a stranger, he relaxed a bit, and removed his hand from his dagger. "...Well, hello...I was simply reading..." Colm wasn't too impressed with her greeting. But, then again, maybe she mistook me for somebody else... He rose from the chair, seeing that he was talking to a lady, and held out his hand. "Colm Dystron, at your service. May I inquire as to your name?" |

((OOC: Horribly short post! I have a 200 word limit as a ARPer and a 300 word limit as personal preference… if you could post more detail I won’t have so much trouble replying. Stuff like what he wears or thinks or such…)) AD rocked back on her heels as he spun about to face her, clasping her hands behind her back as he found his wits. She was dressed in a simple leather dress for this particular venture. Deep brown suede and a deep green chamese with long sleeves under it. Around her waist was a simple leather belt with a single pouch on her right hip. Around her neck was a thin silver chain with a silver ring suspended from it. The ring seemed dark though, not in appearance but in the way it felt. When he introduced himself she wrinkled her nose at him. "At my service? I don't think so. So no. You may not inquire about my name. You may call me AD if you wish though." She tipped her head to the right as her emerald eyes studied him. "Never mind. I have some stuff to look for and librarians to avoid and you are too noisy to avoid them if I stay here. They will want me to give back the book I have and I need it still...” she paused and strengthened., then shifted her weight to the left to look past him and down the hall. No, no one yet… Her attention went back to the stranger and she momentarily forgot that she had been leaving. Instead she was looking up at him expectantly, as if he could somehow spout forth exactly what she was looking for even though she didn’t know what it was exactly, or where to find it. |
