Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Annajae had spotted man staring at her. She had caught men on occasian that were mesmerized by her beauty, and an evil grin crept onto her face. It looked like she would have a meal today, she was thirsty too. She was outside of The Green Gryphon Inn, and she walked towards the man and smiled at him sweetly. Her voice was soft and almost elegant. "Can I help you...?" She cocked her head to side awaiting his answer.

"Uhm...well..." The man wasn't handsome, but he also wasn't ugly. He was a commoner, and he was shy towards her, looking down, thinking of what to say.

Annajae smirked then closed her eyes, her face moving closer to his, then their lips met each other. The man was taken aback, not sure how to react, but he instead closed his own eyes, kissing her back. When the kiss ended, Annajae traced her fingers across his lips then walked towards the door. Before she opened it, she looked back at him. He followed her in, and she got a room.

The two kissed each other again when they got inside, and as they kissed each other passionately, she was slowly getting her dagger that lay hidden behind her cloak. Then she stabbed him in the stomach, and his face became stone, shocked. He fell to the ground on his knees, and Annajae did as well. "Mmm.." She kissed him again on the lips, and then giggled. But she giggled in almost an evil way.

"Damn you...." He shook as blood spilled through the wound, trying to get the words out. "Damn you to hell...."

Annajae then put her finger to her lips. "Shhh..." She kissed him on the cheek once more. "Don't speak. Death has claimed its victim tonight. You don't want to anger him as he watches, do we?" She then took the dagger out, stabbing him once more, this time she aimed for the heart. He cried in pain, and she enjoyed her meal, his blood was the first she had in a long time. Then, when she was done, she simply walked over to the bed.

The next day, she awoke in the morning and she walked out of the inn, and walked through the streets. She saw a woman rubbing her belly and a man talking to her. She sat on a nearby bench, eavesdropping on their conversation for fun.

"Brian? Have you seen my husband, your brother? He left last night, and has not come home since. The baby has been kicking all night too. I...I fear for his safety. I really do..."
"I'll look out for him Diane..."

Annajae looked at the man and could see like he would indeed be the brother of the man she killed last night. She grinned evily, it was shame he left a wife and baby. Then, she got up and continued to walk the streets.

((OOC: It's short, but I'm much more used to people coming to me with a question! Sorry, I may be a bit rusty here.))

"Would it please you to know that her husband will soon be found? he was mugged by that man you seduced." Gregory appeared as a normal moon-elf. He had left his emissary behind at the chapel to confer with the priests while he wandered last night, and though the god did not return his people did not fear for him. "I healed the man before he lost too much blood, but the weariness of the healing kept him asleep. He will groggily walk out of the alley probably in a few minutes. Before you think him an easy meal be wary. Also, the man you slew was gifted. He was shown the err of his ways in his last moments of death, and he is even now in the land of the celestials, as he has been forgiven for his troubles. Fear was not his last emotion, for as he died he felt elation."

Gregory stood blocking the vampire's path, arms crossed before him. Any who had not seen the god would think him not but an elf with an odd purple bag and typical mage or clerical clothing. Today he decided to teach this girl humility and let her know fear at the hands of a good god so that she may educate all evil about her of the power they faced.

Annajae stopped before the man that stood infront of her. This was stressful to her, and she wasn't the most patient person when it came to strangers. She sighed, he knew what had happened last night. "Get out of my way. I have no patience for strangers!" She hissed at him.

Honestly, she didn't care about what she had done. The man was at the wrong place at the wrong time, she couldn't help that he had been looking at her. It was his fault, and if the man standing before her wouldn't go on his way, she would make sure to go after his family as well. This didn't have to turn into anything worse, but he was asking for it.

She rolled her eyes annoying, then cocked her head to the side. "Leave me alone, you ignorant fool." She snapped at him. The anger had built up inside of her and she found herself in a ready stance to attack him.

"The man had it coming anyways. And now look what you have done, you helped him cheat death. Now death will seek revenge on both of you." She took her dagger out, with the mans blood still on it and she giggled evily. "Would you like to taste some of his blood as well? I have to admit...it was quite...delicious."

A young boy and a girl suddenly ran past them, giggling and playing, unaware of what was happening, they were young and didn't care what the adults were doing anyways. Annajae smirked and took the young boy in her arms, wrapping her arms around him tight, then stuck her dagger against his throat. "Or...maybe he would like to taste it? Your pick, handsome." She kept her eyes on the man before her, covering the young boys mouth with her hand, with the arm that was wrapped around the young boy. The boy struggled to get free from her tight grasp. The girl that was with the boy ran away, scared.

Gregory smiled at the girl before him, even as she spat out her retaliation at his presence. The girl before him was attractive by any means, but the god could not help but sneer at the evil within. It was an ugly, festering evil and no matter its physical manifestation Gregory could never become attracted to such a thing. She wished to be left alone, left to go and continue the feeding with little care as to whom she caused grief. Unfortunately it was not so easy. The god would not allow her to go without being made aware of those who she was against, and as the god toyed with how he would go about his teaching, the girl sealed her fate.

"I have cheated nobody's death. The man you sought to feed went to a better place, I allowed you to live, and I stopped an innocent father from being murdered. It is you who cheats death. Death does not need people to walk the earth giving it fodder. Death is just, and death waits patiently for each soul to be judged. It is you who will be taunted by the spirits of your victims when your time of death comes about." Gregory waved his hand to indicate moving the dagger away. "Savour the taste for yourself, I have no interest in it."

He had not seen the children coming, had not predicted the girl's actions, and thus as the woman took hold of a young boy Gregory cursed his foolishness. The dagger covered in dry blood was pressed against the boy's neck and his cries were muffled and silenced by the demon woman's arms. "you would be wise to think before sealing the boy's fate and your own. I do not wish to have the soul of such a young boy sent to the heavens to be yanked back to earth again. It is far too dramatic for his mind. Therefore if his life is taken, consider your punishment started. For I will not kill you, I will force this evil out of you, and whether it kills you has yet to be seen. It is a slow process, and your death would be painful. Plus I wouldn't feed you, and the cravings would be unbearable."

Gregory reached into his small purple bag slowly and pulled out his Unicorn Spear, a white and gold holy weapon of choice for the god, though he knew it was unnecessary he used it as his medium for his magic. He would take no chances, the boy and the woman were too much to lose already, and if the young boy’s life was lost over the god's doing the guilt would be forever.

She was surprised at his reaction, and how he was taking this all in. She was so used to people being scared and judging her, and people wanting to kill her as soon as she revealed her true self. She had lived the last 31 years in disguise, after she had become what she is today. Truth be told, she hated what she had become, she hated what she thirsted for, she hated herself.

As the man took his spear out, Annajae looked to the side, then finally, a sense of defeat rushed through her. Of course she wouldn't hurt the young boy, but she was honestly scared of what the man was saying, what the man was saying was true, but the truth was something she hated to hear as well. Finally, her arm dropping, and her grasp of the young boy loosened, allowing him to go. She didn't want a fight, and if she did fight, she wasn't prepared at the moment, so she had to just surrender to this man.

As soon as the little boy felt her tight grasp loosen, he mad a break to it and ran towards the direction the little girl went, he cried and ran as fast as his feet could take him. Annajae looked down and nodded. She wanted to cry, this beast inside of her made her into an ugly being. "I give up. Kill me." If she would continue to live, then she would hurt more innocent people. Closing her eyes tightly, she dropped her dagger to the floor. She felt weak. "Kill me now, damnit!" She hissed at him.

"Kill me and devour my offering to death!" Annajae stood there, not moving an inch, head to the ground, eyes closed shut. This man was powerful, someone that was worthy of killing her. She waited to feel pain. Deep inside, she cried for death to come and take her. Even though she wished to live as long as she could, she couldn't live like this, like a vampire.

Gregory relaxed as she released the child and seemed to give in. He looked her up and down before putting his spear back in his odd hip-pouch. The woman gave up the fight, far too easily for Gregory's comfort. She asked him for the sweet release of death, pleaded for an end to her torment, but yet again things were not so easy. The god could not consciously take a life such as this and send it to the afterlife with little knowledge of how great life could have been. Rather than striking out, Gregory slowly placed his obsidian hand on the girl’s right shoulder for comfort. His obsidian hand was the side of him that was dark, and he would use it to comfort those who were picked by the dark-side rather than having a choice.

"A vampire raped you of a life as a normal person, and for that I take pity. The life you lead is the life you must for survival. You do not feed for pleasure or glutton; you feed because it is necessary. I will not kill you, nor will I persecute you, but perhaps it would be better if I was able to find one who could show you the ropes. One who could teach you to target those with no family or perhaps evil blood, or even teach you to be sure that those you killed went to the place they wished for. I cannot forever be around to guide the stolen souls to the afterlife."

He didn't kill her, he didn't listen to her plea for death. When he placed his hand on her shoulder, she was surprised and somewhat shocked. Most people would have killed her by now, or began to fear her. She could feel her breathing fasten, her heart was beating fast. Even though she was a vampire, she still believed she had a heart. She could feel the tears falling from her eyes, and down her cheeks. She felt weak, and defeated, and she had began to cry.

She wasn't a monster after all, she thought she had maybe lost emotions, this was the first time she had cried since she had turned into what she is now. She cried. Someone was offering her help, and she wasn't alone anymore. She wasn't sure if she should trust him, but she knew that if he was faking it, and he would kill her, he would be taking her out of her misery and giving her what she asked for.

She continued to cry. Even though she was sad, she was glad that she could cry, glad that she still had emotions. But she had done horrible things throughout her life, and nothing could mend them. She was a monster, she knew it. She killed so many people.

Gregory let her cry. He knew the effect he had on people, and he knew the effect he would have on this one, if only underestimating it. As far as he had known, vampires were without emotion, yet apparently the studies were wrong. He knew one such as this would find no place in his home or with his people, and he began to wonder just who would have the knowledge to survive as a dark being. Unfortunately he would have no time to think on it, as a very dark and twisted presence approached. He recognized the jumbled aura and grinned slightly.

He only hoped he had enough time to finish what needed to be finished with the girl. Reaching deep into his bag again, he pulled forth a dark red cloak lined with grey border and threw it over the girl's shoulders. It was a great gift he was giving her this day, one he intended Tock to have, but it was no matter, Tock would merely get something else. "Take this cloak as a gift. It protects as soft steel. Blades cannot penetrate it, but they can bend it and you will feel the force. If you use it right though you will only be afforded bruises rather than cuts. For I must soon take my leave, a proper mentor is sure to arrive soon. The Cathedral of Light is open to you whenever you are in need."

Gregory allowed his wings to be revealed and released his compressed aura of holy light. He flew above the shorter buildings and issued one last farewell. "Xion Flayle is odd, but wise in his dark ways. You would be right to keep with him, and as for you Xion, you will take the girl and teach or, or I will hunt you and peel the skin from your bones." And with that he flew off, sure that he would see the girl again in time.

Xion had merely been exploring the town for some delicious left-over when he saw the angel Gregory rise up from the street and over the nearby buildings. He had not heard of Gregory's ascension as of yet, but he was still not eager to fight the paladin, and thus he cowered in the shadows of a small pigeon tower above the streets. It did not help, as the Moon-Elf trash called his name and issued a command of all things! He wished for Xion to help someone out, but why would he assume the tiefling would help? Perhaps it would show the god better to kill this morsel that was supposed to be taught. He sneered at the god and hissed as he flew away before ambling over to the edge to stare down at this person in need.

What he saw was an attractive young woman in a red cloak. She looked as though she had been crying, and all it did was making her pale features all the more noticeable. Perhaps he would do the God this favour, if just this once. Smiling widely, he shoved his back legs into the air and over his head, curling into a graceful drop on the streets below. Whipping his raggedy cape behind him and flicking his hair from his eye he made his way to the lovely young woman and gracefully took her hand, planting a light kiss on the back.

"Beautiful day, is it not? What may I, humble Xion Flayle, call such a pretty little flower?"

When that man placed the cloak on her shoulders, she didn't know what to think anymore. Maybe it wasn't her that was always being judged, but that she was the one judging people first and assuming that they wanted to kill her. He was kind to her, and for that, she was thankful. Even though that she had heard before that vampires had no emotions, her own time as a vampire proved that that was false. Or maybe it was just her, maybe she still had a little bit of her heart left.

Revealing his wings, he mentioned a man named Xion Flayle. She never heard that name before, and she wasn't sure if he was truly helping her, or just sent someone to kill her. Either way, she would have to wait and see who this was. She stood there for a few moments, not crying as bad as she was before. The few moments that she was alone though, felt like an eternity.

A man in a cape dropped in front of her gracefully. She was a little surprised, not expecting that to happen. When he gracefully took her hand, and kissed that back of it, she was even more surprised. She could feel herself blushing, something that she found herself doing all the time when she was a human. She didn't remember blushing though with her time as a vampire. And the blushing wouldn't stop.

"Annajae...." She said quietly. She was shy infront of him, and she thought it was confusing. He seemed harmless at the moment, maybe he really was going to help her.

((OOC: Sorry about the crap post. >.< Xion doesn't get much human contact aside from fighting and partying, so he's a bit rusty.))

"Annajae." Xion rolled the word off his tongue a few times, tasting it's sound and deciding whether it would work for the girl. "Such a name does not seem to fit a vampire, now does it? Though I suppose you are a pretty vampire the pretty name suits somewhat... I'll call you Lillium. Most ironic to choose the old-tongue word for purity in a name, no? Typical vampires love that kind of thing." The tiefling smiled widely as he look down to the girl, a glint in his eye all-to recognizable to those who would know him.

"Come now, we will go fetch you a drink and let you freshen up before we set off. I believe our best first destination is Norwood forest, a good place for you to get a hang of the basic road-side confrontation." He turned ahead down the road, which began filling up with the morning rush, his arm extended at an angle implying the girl should lock her arm into his. Though the girl still held a blood-caked blade, pulling in many off stares from passers-by, Xion hadn't even noticed the odd thing. When he watched an old ladies jaw drop at the sight, he merely followed her gaze and smiled.

"Oh, and before we go, as much as the bloodied blade suits you, it is best put away where it can-not attract attention. You should clean it whenever we can get to a rain-bucket also. Or you could lick it clean if you prefer. If so, we'll take a detour."

Lillium.... The name repeated a few times in her mind. It was different to her, it made her sound more like a vampire. It was suiting, it was perfect for her to start a new life. Maybe she had to leave everything, today was going to be her new day. If that was what was happening, then she would be willing to accept it. This was her fate. A god had brought these two souls together, so there must be some meaning to it. Something more was about to begin, and she could taste it.

She had not realized the blood stained dagger was still in her hand, until Xion had mentioned it. Her eyes widened a bit, then put it away from the naked eye. She didn't want attention at the moment. Walking closer to him she locked her arm with his, and a smile crept onto her face.

An old woman caught her attention at the corner of her eye, with her jaw dropped in disbelief in her face. Annajae - or Lillium - simply smiled at her as if she was completely innocent. "Good day m'am." She said nodding at the old woman. Her voice was kind and gentle.

Not too long ago, Annajae was crying, giving up on life, ready to die. But after a kind heart had made her rethink the decision, she was thinking that maybe she should keep on living. Xion made her want to live, because he was willing to help her, and he didn't see her as a hideous soul. He thought she was normal. He thought she was like him. It made her happy to know that there was someone here like her, and accepted her.
