| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The door closed behind a woman as she walked inside quietly. She took her hood off, walking towards one of the chairs. It was her first time here, her first time being out on her own. Her name was Miyako. Scanning the bookshelves with her deep purple eyes, she searched for books on adventuring. Those kind of books always interested her, it was something that she desired, a fantasy, a dream, that she too would one day be in a book. The idea of a book being written about her, or her writing her own book, made her thirsty for more adventure. The library was bright as the sun shined brightly through the windows. A certain book caught her eye, and she made her way towards the bookshelf. She smiled as the her hands grasped the book and she looked at the front cover. She couldn't wait to read it. Making her way back towards the chair, she opened it and began to read. Placing it on the table, and sitting on the chair her eyes were hooked onto the book. The other people in the library were now gone to her, as she replaced them with what she was reading. The noises were gone, it was like she was in a whole different world. She had sat there in the library for at least an hour, escaped from reality. Her eyes never left the book and she didn't want to, she would be there all night if she had to, finishing the book was her only goal at the moment. The book had become so intense that she was literally on the edge of her seat, consumed of the excitement. She didn't care was going on, all she cared about was her fantasy world. |

Kyrus sat and watched the woman, she was totally engrossed in her book and he couldn't help but smile. Here was another who liked reading as much as he did, perhaps he should introduce himself, he could always use some more friends. He was loath to disturb her from the book which she was so throughly enjoying but he thought he should at least try and introduce himself "Hello," he said "looks like a good book you've got there." |

She snapped back into reality as she heard a mans voice. She blinked a few times as the images slowly disappeared. Her deep purple eyes looked up, and saw a tall, elvish man. Even though she loved the book and wished to read more of it, she also didn't mind talking to somebody new, maybe a little break. She smiled softly at him. "Yes, it is very interesting. I've been reading it for quite sometime." She looked back at the book, closing it. She figured that she would come back some other time to read the rest, because she felt it better if she talked to this stranger instead. She loved meeting new people. She looked back at him. "My name is Miyako. Miss Miyako." |

Kyrus smiled warmly and her and taking her hand he kissed it softly "It is a pleasure to meet you Miss Miyako," he said with his elven accent in his voice strong "My name is Kyrus Lynin and I am as you have probably noticed, a High Elf." He looked down at the book "Oh I am reading that too, isn't it great!" he said excitedly "I saw you sitting over here so I thought I should come over and say hello," he said with a warm smile. |

She blushed slightly and giggled when he took her hand and kissed it. She looked away a little taken by surprise. But she didn't mind people with good manners. She smiled and looked back at him. "It is a pleasure to meet you Mister Kyrus Lynin." She nodded and looked down at the book as he talked about it. "I found it today, it really caught my interest. I'm beginning to really enjoy it, but I've been reading for quite sometime, so I find myself here talking to you, to refresh my eyes." She took the book in her hands and walked over to the bookshelf, placing it where it was before. She looked back at him, still smiling softly. So, Mister Kyrus, tell me a little about yourself." |

Kyrus smiled warmly and looked at Miyako "Well I am a High Elf and I have travelled extensively around Imythess," he said "I originally come from a small village called Kellen on the borders of Taras. Like you, I like to read and often visit this Library. I also like to sing although I don't think I am all that good and I love to travel and meet new people." He looked at her as she placed the book back on the shelf and turned back to face him "So Miyako, is there anything else about me you wish to know?" he asked. |

She listened to him and smiled as he spoke. She walked over to the window and looked outside, the clouds filling the sky. "Your from the Village of Kellen? I heard about that place from someone I had met not too long ago. It seems like a very nice place." She still looked outside of the window, her deep purple eyes lingered to the ground outside, and little droplets stained the ground. It had began to rain. She smiled a little brighter, the rain was something she enjoyed. "Anything else I would want to know? Well, I certaintly don't mind hearing more. But it is up to you Mister Kyrus." Outside, she could see people retreating back to their houses. She glanced back at him awaiting an answer. |

Kyrus smiled at her as she turned back to him after looking out the window as it had begun to rain, he had always liked the rain, so soft and soothing. "yes, Kellen is a very beautiful place. Perhaps I could take you there sometime?" he said softly "Umm, what else is there," he said and began thinking "Well I don't have any family and I have wandered Imythess in search of interesting things and places to see and interesting people to meet. I have two pets, a cat and a Gryphon and I too read a lot and even keep a journal of my travels." He smiled at her and took her hand giving it a gentle squeeze "Well thats about it for me. How about you Miyako? Tell me a little about yourself?" |

"I love to read. It was something I always did as a child. I'm on my journeys alone. I left my home in search of adventure. My family has no idea what happened to me..." She said as she though of what her parents would be doing right now. Perhaps they would be weeping. It made her feel bad, but she wanted to travel. Adventure made her selfish. She sighed and squeezed his hand a bit as well. She didn't have any reason not to trust him. She was glad she had met some nice. A friend was what she really needed. Outside, the rain had began to really pick up, drop after drop covering the ground. It had started to get colder. "My family may think im dead. Or I ran away. They probably assume i'm going to come home soon, since I would aways run away as a child..." She then remembered some more memories of her past. Some that she wished she didn't. "Unfortunately, I don't find myself going home soon..." |

Kyrus smiled at her understandingly still holding her hand "I know how you feel," he said "I have no home to go home to, I too was always dissatified with the way things were. The ruling classes were so stuck up, they thought themselves better than everyone else, they went around putting on airs and what not," he said "So my mother, my father and I decided to leave to make a better life for ourselves away from the overly controlling ruling class. We had got quite far but then something terrible happened," he said. He too had memories from his past which he wished he didn't remember, but they were always there always troubling him. He then smiled at her and gave her hand another gentle squeeze "But I am glad that I met you Miyako, for I find you very interesting. I too have read since I was but a small child and seek adventure. Perhaps we could go on one together?" he suggested. |

Miyako looked at him and nodded, listening to every word he said with care. She found him interesting as well and someone she could relate to, someone she could trust like she could with her childhood friend, Markus. Markus and her were very close. "Perhaps, we could. I would enjoy adventuring with you." She said happily. Finally, someone she could trust. Looking back out the window, she began to wonder where they would go when they would leave Taras. She didn't know, but for now all she wanted was to relax. Yawning, she turned her attention back to Kyrus. "Mister Kyrus...where do you propose that we go to?" She asked. She knew he knew more than her of the land, since Taras was the only place she had been. She was glad to have someone experienced as well with her. Her deep purple eyes never left him. |

Kyrus smiled at her warmly and continued holding her hand "Hmm, that is a good question," he said "We could either go to Istan City in the desert of Cascadia among the jungles. It depends where you would want to go," he said and gave her hand a gentle squeeze and looked into her brilliant purple eyes with his sparkling blue ones "Or we could go to the Memphian Falls, that is quite a beautiful place and I think you would love it there," he suggested. He felt himself beginning to like Miyako, she interested him so very much "I would be glad to travel with one as beautiful as you," he said allowing flirtation to enter his voice "not to mention lucky". |

She was hesitant a little, feeling as if she was getting too close. He was a stranger, but he gave her no reason to not trust him. She shrugged it off and started to think of where they could go. "The choice is yours, Mister Kyrus." Nodding, she let go of his hand and smiled and walk towards the door. She stopped and looked back at him, still smiling at him. "Shall we go and find a place to stay for the night? Or should we just go to wherever the wind takes us?" She asked, waiting for him. As she waited for him, she thought of what he said about how lucky he was. She could tell that he was quite the flirt. The door opened as two youngsters walked inside smiling and laughing. They ran towards a bookshelf to the far side of the room. She smiled as she watched them. |

Kyrus smiled at her and let go of her hand and walked to the door with her "I think we should let the wind take us. Unless of course you want to find somewhere to stay?" he said and smiled across at her, his eyes sparkled with happiness "I am glad I met you here Miyako, you interest me," he said. Together they walked out into the rain "I think we should go to Memphian Falls first, I know that you would like it there." He hummed softly as they left the library together and he was tempted to take her hand again but he did not, "or perhaps Cascadia, the city of waterfalls you would like it there as well. Pick one," he said with a happy laugh. |

She left the library with him into the rain as she put her hood on. She looked over at him and smiled. "Let's go to the tavern right now. I could use a drink, how about you?" She asked looking towards the tavern and inn. The rain poured onto them both and she smiled even brighter, as she loved the rain and enjoyed it. She awaited his answer. (OOC: We should close this one up and then continue the one 'Just a Glass of Wine', yeah?) |
