Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Samathan sat alone at a table in the Taras library, he may be a warrior but he valued knowledge greatly. He smiled at those about him as he buried himself in a book on strategy and warfare. He was an adept warrior but every bit of information he could glean on the art of warfare from this libarary would help him to become the best he could be. His broad-sword lay on the table before him as he placed down the book and looked about him, he was in the mood for company but as yet hadn't made any friends.

Dalin was in Taras for over a week. And still, he never got to see this place. The libary of Taras; someone in the market told him about it, said it was a huge place with many books from all kinds. One of the reasons Dalin came to Taras was to learn, so this place seemed perfect for him.
History was the thing he came for. He had little to no knowledge about the past of Imythess and he wished to change it. But when Dalin entered the libary, he saw so many other books, and all of them were so interesting...

Dalin took himself a thick history book and looked for a place to sit. Close to where he was, sat another person, probably a warrior as he had a sword on the table. Dalin saw he was reading something about strategy and battles.
Maybe I should read one of these...after I finish with this one.
There was plenty of room in the libary, but the book was pretty heavy. Dalin hoped the man won't mind if he will sit next to him.

Dalin approached the table, tring not to drop his book. He got to the table. He placed the book on the table, happy to get rid of the weight, and sat down.
"You don't mind if I'll sit here, do you?"

Samathan smiled at Dalin warmly "Not at all friend, you are more than welcome to sit here," he said and moved his stuff so that he would have more room "Ah you like to learn too I see," he said looking at the large book he held "so I am not the only one. My name is Samathan by the way." He smiled at the man and held out his hand in greeting, finally someone was speaking to him and would strive to make a good impression on the man.

The man called Samathan seemed to be quite friendly. Smiling back at Samathan, Dalin shaked Samathan hand and said "Thanks, My name is Dalin."
Dalin wasn't sure if he was in the mood to talk. He came here to read, after all, and he assumed it will be quite hard to do that while talking. And then again, he didn't want to be rude either. And Samathan did seem like a nice guy.

Dalin could actuley use some friends in Taras. He did meet some nice people, but he couldn't really call any of them friends. Life in Taras was tough, and if Dalin will ever need help from someone, for some reason, he will probably have no one to go to. Besides, Dalin felt a little lonely in the port city.
Well, I think I will talk to him a bit and than get back to my book.
"So," Dalin said, looking at the book Samathan was reading, "what are you reading?"

Samathan smiled warmly across at Dalin as he asked him what book he was reading, he held the book up for him to see "Its called 'Way Of The Warrior' it teaches disciplined fighting techniques," he said with a smile. He shook Dalin's hand warmly "I often come here to read. Knowledge is important, often one finds themselves in a situation that physical strength alone cannot handle." He smiled at Dalin, he was beginning to think of this man as a friend, his first friend he was making in Taras "So what are you reading?" he asked.

"Oh, that?" Dalin said after Samathan question, and pointed on his book.
"That's a history book, about some war. See, I really don't know much about history, but I wish to learn. Not sure about the name really, I don't think this book has one."
Looking at the old cover, Dalin assumed that this book used to have a name and that time erased it. Though the cover was old, the pages seemed to be fine. But there was no name in the book himself.
Leaving the book, Dalin turned back to Samathan.
"So, how long have you been in Taras?"

Samathan smiled at Dalin "A book without a name thats odd," when he asked him how long he had been in Taras he thought for awhile before answering "About a week now. You?" He looked at the man, it appeared they were becoming friends, which was good, he needed friends here in Taras. So Dalin liked to learn as well, that was a good thing as knowledge always came in handy on various occasions.

Dalin opened the book, leafing through it. The book was in better condition than Dalin would expect. It was very, very old, but the pages were fine. Either the librarians here were taking excellent care of the books here, or no one touched this book for a while...
"Hmm?" Dalin raised his gaze from the book and looked at Samathan. He almost forget that he is talking to him while he checked the book. "Oh, almost two weeks, and yet there are so many places in this city that I never saw. Such a huge town..." Dalin left the book open and turned back to Samathan. "How is your stay in Taras so far?"

Samathan smiled at him and placed down his own book "My stay in Taras so far? It has been pretty good, though I must say I have found it hard making friends. " He looked at Dalin and waited for his response "People around here tend to be a little mistrustful of newcomers." He looked at Dalin, he was the first person he was managing to talk to and slowly become friends with.
