| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Xenith steped off the boat, using her staff as a walking stick. Her eyes were open, unseeing, looking straight ahead. She didnt know the area and was unsure where to go. Unable to turn around, she couldnt go home, she did the only thing she could do. Carefully she walked along the dock, her staff the only means of knowing where she was going. Her ears picked up nothing but the vulgar talk and heavy steps of the sailors. She didnt hear anyone else on the dock. Frustrated but determined she continued on her way, hoping she didnt bump into anyone in the process. How imbarassing that would be to walk into someone. I havnt walked into anyone in years. That would clearly mark me as blind. She thought all this as she moved slowly along the dock. She prided herself in her ability to make it look like she could see. It was the first time where she would feel alone and vulnerable since she had been eight. |

Llorar enjoyed the cool air of the docks. She spent much of her time here, by the sea. Walking down the cobble road, she stopped and swept silvery hair from one ear. She could hear the soft thump of a staff on the stone. Brow furrowed, she looked around the corner. A newly docked boat sat anchored, with several crew members moving about the deck. But that wasn't the source of the sound. Looking further, she saw another moon elf walking down the street towards her. The dim light of the docks weren't satisfactory. she stamped her own staff once and cast a light spell on the tip of the pole. it lit like a torch, throwing light and shadows across the street. Llorar stepped from around the corner and faced the Elf. Curious of her not immediately noticing Llorar, she spoke up. "Hello there. What is a young elf such as you doing roaming these parts of town?" She asked. Llorar admired her eyes, a deep violet. |

Xenith made her way slowly down the cobble road, her staff rapping loudly each time she put it down. The very sound of it made her grit her teeth with anger. It was like anouncing to everyone that she was blind. Her insecurity of being in a new place was surfacing its ugly face. There going to reject me just like everyone else did. If not for my blindness then for me being a half elf. She tried not to think of it but it kept coming back. like a nightmare that kept haunting her. She took a deep breath but the smell of the salt water reminded her of the voyage here and turned her stomach. "Hello there. What is a young elf such as you doing roaming these parts of town?" Someone was shouting and she didnt know if it was at her. She couldnt see if there were anyother elf looking people here so she did the only thing she could do, she pretended to look around and looked toward where the voice had called from, eyes cast down. Are you talking to me? She asked the question. |

Llorar watched her look about, then look down. a pang hit her. of course, she wouldn't mention the poor girl's blindness. Everything fit. there was the staff, the unnoticing behaviour, and the strange milky film over her eyes. 'poor girl...' she thought. as if being a half-elf, as she realised the softer features, weren't bad enough. "Are you talking to me?" the girl asked. "I am. The sailors about these parts aren't too kind. Jerks, the lot of them." She said casually. Llorar curiously moved the lit tip of her staff from one side to the other. "By the way, my name is Llorar. May i have the pleasure of knowing yours?" she said in a friendly tone. |

She stood waiting for the woman. Hoping she wouldnt notice the blindness. "I am. The sailors about these parts aren't too kind. Jerks, the lot of them."She said it casually. Xenith sighed with relief. Thank the goddess she didnt notice im blind. "By the way, my name is Llorar. May i have the pleasure of knowing yours?" She asked. Xenith smiled. Llorar it is a pleasure. My name is Xenith and I have just arrived from across the sea. She took a tentative step forward. She was more afraid of bumping into someone or something and making a fool of herself more than anything. |

Llorar watched the woman's steps carefully, making sure she wasn't going to do anything. "Llorar it is a pleasure. My name is Xenith and I have just arrived from across the sea." Llorar became curious. "Across the sea? I envy you. As often as I come to the docks, and for as long as i've lived in Taras, I've never actually sailed. It has always been my dream..." Llorar laughed. "Nice to meet a friend in these times. Are you off to anywhere in particular?" She asked, honestly curious. she had forgotten about her blindness at this point, happy to meet a friend at last. |

Kyrus watched the two women before him, he noticed one was blind but chose not to comment on it out of respect and the other one was obviously a new arrival to Imythess. He stepped forward to greet them both whilst being careful not to startle the blinded one, his elven accent rang clearly in his voice as he spoke and his elven features were obvious. Perhaps the one called Llorar would comment on them "Greetings I am Kyrus Lynin, welcome to Imythess," he said warmly. |

Xenith smiled warmly. Well to be quite honest Llorar I have no destination in mind, other than perhaps a place to rest my head and warm food. Other than that I think I will have to obtain a companion who knows the land better than I. From there I do not know quite where I will go. It is to the Goddess to deside my fate. It seems she has lead my feet in a good direction already. Someone spoke a greeting. Someone with an accent. She leaned on her staff and looked toward the new voice. Greetings to you Kyrus. I thank you for your warm welcome. Well meet. |

Kyrus smiled softly and taking Xenith's hand he kissed it softly and moved closer to her in a warm, welcoming way "I am lucky to have met such a pretty young lady," he said and smiled at her. He turned to Llorar and smiled at her "Two pretty young women," he then turned his attention back to Xenith and spoke to her kindly "If you are looking for somewhere to find good food, I could take you to the Song Of Elves Tavern?" he said and blushed, when she be able to feel his blush through feelings. "If you would allow me to be your guide in Imythess I would be honoured, I have travelled extensively and know the best places you would love to see," he said. He realised that he was still holding her hand but he did not blush, he placed his other hand on her head and spoke an elven blessing over her. |

She flet him take her hand and was shocked at the warmth that spilled off his hand alone. The gentle brush of soft lips on the back of her hand made a small blush creep up her neck. She had never had this kind of attention before. The thing that shocked her the most was the elven blessing he said over her. she couldnt help the shocked face that she made. Kyrus, do you know what I am? I can not help but think that you do not know me for what I am or you would not have said the blessing. Although I would gladly like your companionship I fear that you may not wish to keep in the company of a Half elf. It is true. If you look closer you can see that I am not a full blood. If you can bear the company of a half elf then I would love to be in your company. She turned her face downward. It was an action of shame that she had since she was little. |

Kyrus smiled softly at her "Nonsense, I care not that you are a half-elf," he said, his words kind and compassionate "I may be a full blood High Elf but to me you are of equal value to any full blood elf." He gently put his hands on her chin and moved her face up to look at him "You should be proud, just because you are only half elven that doesn't make you any less of an elf," he said his voice still kind and considerate "I would be truly blest if you would like to accompany me around Imythess," he said and kissed her hand softly again. Suddenly he embraced her in a gesture of warmth and kindness before drawing back and looking at her "My friend I do not judge you, I see you as a beautiful young woman whom I would be lucky to spend time with," he was still holding her hand "Shall you accompany me to the Tavern?" When she spoke about him not blessing her because she was only a half elf he shook his head "That is not true, you are deserving of my blessing be you elf or half elf. I am not concerned that you are not of full blood, that matters not to me my friend," he said his voice ringing with kindness "My first impression upon meeting you was that I thought you were charming and liked your personality. The fact that you are a half-elf does not phase me in the least. I would like to get to know you, to travel with you." He smiled softly at her "I would like to be your friend Xenith," he said warmly and smiled at her "that is if you want to be mine." |

Xenith was shocked that a high elf would wish to volintarily touch her, wish to accompany her. He touched her chin lifting it as if to make her look at him. A tear of frustration began to show in her unseeing, clear, violet eyes.It was nothing more than a frustration of not being able to see him and her want for it to remain unknow that she was blind. She needed to put aside her pride and just tell him she knew. Kyrus, I would be most greatful if you would accompany me in Imythess. But first I think, yes, we should go to the Tavern. I am hungry and greatly in need of nurishment. May I take your arm so you may escort me? It was a far cry from telling him she was blind but at least she wouldnt make a fool of herself on the way to the Tavern. |

Llorar watched the proceedings with a warm heart. So her blind friend has found a good ally. She noticed how curiously affectionate Kyrus was to a couple of total strangers. Llorar blushed when he complimented the both of them. Besides, didn't high elves and moon elves have some difficulty getting along? This may be an interesting scenario to watch play out. Llorar decided she would follow them to the tavern. As Llorar offered him her arm, Llorar saw it for what it was, help needed. She didn't know what he knew about her being blind. Deciding not to speak up, she gazed out to the sea, her closest friend. |

Kyrus smiled and took his friend by the arm, he knew that she was blind so offered her his arm simply as a kind gesture so that she would not stumble due to her lack of sight "I am glad my friend, let us go the Tavern then," he said and smiled at her and Llorar "I know that you will love the Tavernm it is a marvellous place and the food and drinks are superb," he said to Xenith as he led her to the Tavern. |
