Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

It was another dark night in Taras. Dalin was already used to the silence and the shadows. They weren't as scary as they were at his first time here.
And Dalin was too tired to be scared. So tired...it's been a long day, and a long night. He got into trouble, once again, and found himself runing for his life through the bad part of Taras. Not that Taras had many good parts...All Dalin wanted now was to go to the inn, rent a room, eat and drink something by the warm fire, and go to sleep for a week.

The streets were empty, a little too empty...It was late, of course, but guards usally wandered around, and it was quite rare not to ran into anyone. Dalin wasn't the only poor man in Taras. But the streets were completely empty. A little too empty...However, Dalin didn't care. A hardly noticed that. He was so tired, so hungry...The inn was still far ahead. Dalin stopped, yawning. Maybe I will take a little nap...just for a minute...

Dalin sat down in the dark alley he was going through, and just as he was about to close his eyes, he felt something. Dalin looked sleeply at his left hand, and his eyes grow wide. He jumped up and drawed his dagger. His left hand was covered in blood. The blood seemed fresh. Dalin didn't feel tired any more. An odd sound, the sound of something - or someone - falling on the stone floor, assured him that whoever did this was still close. Or at least, his victim was. He wanted to call the guards, but he will be dead until they will get here. Dalin walked silently, with his dagger is hand, towards the noise.

(Jee, thanks for making me kill someone....:P)

Dûrion had been hungering for blood, and it had been distorting his senses, making him weak and foolish. So he decided to go get the blood he needed. However, it seemed that no one was on the streets this night. He determined the best method of finding a meal would be to look from the rooftops, so he would have a better view of the streets and the city as a whole.

After climbing up on top of the rooftops, he sat down for a moment, enjoying the night air and the view of the stars. This was what made life worth living, moments like these. With no worries for the most part, and a clear sky and a life. For he valued his life greatly, though others did not have the same view. But that was what he got for being a vampire, he supposed. He wondered sometimes if it was worth it, but always decided it was. He had never liked normal society anyways.

He suddenly noticed another person on the same rooftop as him, looking down into an alley of some sort. He drew his katana, and crept up behind the other person. He quickly stabbed their heart, and the person fell down into the alley. Dûrion jumped down after his victim, and began to suck it's blood, not noticing the other person in the alley.

(Well, technically I never made you do anything. As far as I know, that blood belongs to a kitten :P)

Trying the best he could to hide in the shadows, Dalin got closer and closer to the place the noise came from. A horrible sound, of something being sucked, came from there. Dalin now knew that the killer was still there.
But, what could he be doing there? Dalin shivered.
Maybe I should just leave...
But Dalin couldn't leave. He can't just leave this person here. He may still be alive, though the odds are low. And deep inside, Dalin wanted to know who the killer was. Dalin's curiosity almost costed him in his life too many times, but just like this time, he could never resist it.

Dalin finally managed to saw the source of the noise. He stopped, shocked, and stared at the terrifying sight with growing horror.
A dead man layed on the floor, bleeding from his heart, while another man sucked the blood out of him. Dalin never saw one, but he heard enough stories to know what it was - a vampire.
Shaking, Dalin did his best to stay hidden. He knew there is no going back no. He will have to kill this thing if he wants to get out of the alley alive.
I will sneak up on him and kill him before he spots me, Dalin decided.
Still pretty shocked, tring to ignore the horrible smell and sound, Dalin went closer and closer to the vampire, with his dagger in hand. And then, he stepped on something. Dalin stopped. It was something made of metal. Dalin wasn't sure what it was, but it didn't matter. It made a sound, that in the silence of the night was quite loud. Loud enough for the vampire to notice Dalin, for sure.

(Like a kitten would bleed like that.....:P)

Dûrion was enjoying the taste of the blood. He loved the taste of blood, though he didn't like to kill for it. But sometimes these things were necessary. He was so absorbed in his feeding he hadn't noticed the alley was inhabited by another creature. Hadn't noticed, that is, until the other person stepped on something. He heard the noise, and stopped feeding, instead raising his head to look at the other person, blood dripping from his fangs.

He smiled slightly when he saw the other person, and stood up, wiping his mouth. He picked up his katana, which was what the other person had stepped on, and shethed it. "Well, looks like you've found me. What might you be, a slayer? No, you look to frightened and shocked to be a slayer. You must be some poor unfortunate being who happened to be here when I was then...." He smiled again.

(It could have been a giant kitten... Use your imagination!)

Dalin looked at disgust as the vampire picked up his sword. This sword seemed to be what caused Dalin to be discovered. Blood dripped from the creature's fangs as he places his weapon back in place. He wiped the blood and talked. To Dalin's surprise, he didn't attack instantly. He seemed to be quite calm.
Is he toying me, or is he just full? Either way, he isn't going to let me get out of this alley alive...
Dalin took a step back, still holding his dagger.

Now, the fear overcomed Dalin's curiosity. He just wanted to get out of there.
He hoped he wouldn't have to fight, and if he would, he will most likely have to run for his life. His best chance was to convince the vampire to spare him.
"No, I am no slayer. Unfortunate being...That's a good description. You know, there are many dangers in the streets of Taras, and I seem to run into each and every one of them." Dalin grinned.
"And I am no threat either. So, maybe you can just let me go?" Dalin looked at the vampire, forcing himself to smile.

(Well, next time it can be a giant kitten, okay?)

Dûrion smiled slightly, letting out a low chuckle. "You must be very unfortunate indeed to run into every dangerin the streets. You must carry some sort of bad luck." He frowned then looking at the other person with curiosity. He was definitely scared, whihc meant he was no threat to Dûrion, but he seemed eager to escape with his life. Dûrion considered toying with him, but decided instead just to be straight up.

"So, what brings you into a dark alley in the middle of the night anyways? Were you trying to avoid something? Or was it mere chance that brought you my way? Either way is fine, I suppose, but I am curious."

(sorry for short post, I am tired)

The vampire wasn't going to let Dalin leave. It wasn't much of a surprise to Dalin.
At least I tried...
The vampire asked about the reason Dalin was there. Perhaps it was a good sign. If the vampire is interested in Dalin, he will let him live. Until he will answer his question, and then he will probably kill him...
Just keep talking...buy yourself some time and try to think of something to do...
"No, I wasn't tring to avoid anything...I was heading for the inn, you see." Dalin pointed at the direction the inn was, with the hand that wasn't holding his dagger.

He talked nervously and slowly, buying himself as much time as he could and thinking about something that he can do to escape.
"As for why I am out here so late...Well, guess you can ask him the same thing..." Dalin looked at the dead body. Actuley, what was he doing here? Wandering around in night? Maybe he was going somewhere too.
"As for me, I got lost in the bad part of town. Was a little hard to get out of there, but when I finally did it was already late. I was tired, I wanted to get myself some sleep, and here I am. I guess I do carry some sort of bad luck."
