| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

The girl sat in a wooden chair next to a table in the bar. The bartender had fled in time, but so many had not made it. The young girl was softly sobbing, her head resting against her knees that she held up in the chair with her arms. She appeared as any sobbing girl would, but the macabre background destroyed any semblance of innocence. Blood painted the walls, and the girl. Her blue eyes, which were now hidden behind her arms, were made clearer by the speckles of blood that dotted her face. The limbs of half a dozen people lay strewn about the scenario, and faces contorted in forever fear burned in the girls mind as they all faced her, even the ones without necks for support. Why had her magic lashed out like that? Why did so many have to die? She did not know the answers, she could not know. All she could do was rock back and forth and cry. Cry the memories of accusing faces and bloodied walls away, ugh it would never go away. Her magic cast a dark cloak about her, making her appear darker and more evil. Unavoidable. |

Marin flinched visibly when he felt the massive explosion of dark power, and then was nearly run over by the man that came running down the street screaming incoherently. He grimaced, and stood in the doorway of the tavern, the pendant around his neck glowing, pushing back the darkness within as it tried to smother him. It was then that his ears perked up at the sound of a female crying. What? What was this? It didn't sound like she was very old. In fact, it sounded like a CHILD! Holding the pendant aloft, he stared in shock. He was RIGHT. It WAS a child. A small girl, who appeared no more than ten years old. He sighed. Another possessed soul. These were becoming more and more frequent these days. "Hello? Can you hear me?" he said, stepping over the bloody, mangled bodies, trying not to lose his light lunch. "Little girl? I'm here to help you. Don't worry. I won't judge you. You aren't in control of yourself," he said, kneeling in front of her. "Hey there. Stop crying for me, okay? Come on. Let me see your eyes." |

((Short yet again. I suppose when your character has nothing to say and no mastery of other communications, that kills a good amoun of post sustainance!~ >_<. She always reminds me of like, the girl off of "Juan" or w/e, but completely alive and innocent.)) Nasya's stifled crying stopped suddenly as a voice pierced her own sadness and anguish. Had another one come to see what the noise was all about. Would the evil within' her lash out? She didn't know, and she never would know. The man asked to see her eyes, and although not very fluent in the language practised by humans, she understood this simple request. Her head shot up, blood and tears commingled to make for a macabre portrait. Her hard blue eyes shone through the strands of black hair matted to her face. Realizing that she had to make the man run, she jumped to her feet. Being unable to speak, she simply screamed and pointed for the door, her vocal cords pumping out mutant sounds that she was embarrassed to release, but she intended to scare the man off. It was then that her magic lashed out. The black aura about her burst forth in the spell of cause fear. it intended to stun its enemy as it had the last victim of the inn. The little girl was helpless to it, and all the crying in the world would not stop its onslaught. The spell barraged the elf's direction, and the girl knew that being caught in its web was unavoidable. |

Marinias felt the explosion before it actually hit, and leapt back. "WHOA! Shining One, LEND ME STRENGTH!" He had been taught enough by his mother to know a Fear spell when he felt it, and his knees were already threatening to buckle. He grimaced, clenching tight to the pendant, not so much for the light, but for strength. Gah. This is not good, he thought to himself, even as it registered on him that the girl's eyes were a hard crystalline blue. Bringing himself to a standing position, he grunted. This was not going to be easy. Taking a step forward, he began to speak, not to the girl, but to whatever it was that was inside her. "Okay. I don't know who or what you are, and I don't particularly care, but you need to listen to me, instead of trying to kill me. I'm not just trying to help your host, I'm trying to help YOU. If you continue to try to kill me, I will have no choice but to force you out and deal with you that way. You've taken many lives, some of them innocent. For that, you must be judged." |
