| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

"Hey! Stop! Stop!" Yuri stumbled, tripping on the hem of someone's robe as he shouldered his way through the press of the crowded main street of Taras. Gritting his teeth, he pushed his way past a group of women looking at fine jewelery -much to their complaint- and did his best to keep his eyes on his target. Seeing the kid had broken from the crowds and was in the open, Yuri abruptly turned down an alley and used a bin to climb on the roof of the buildings. Cresting the peak, he took a moment to get his foot on the shingles and find the theif before running with the street, jumping from one roof-top to another. "Theif!" The elf shouted, pointing, as he ran, at the blonde haired boy that looked back over his shoulder nervously. "He's got my flute!" Yuri had learned to not play his flute in the cities due to his lack of perception while he played, but at the moment he couldn't play even if he wanted to. The little brat had nicked the instrument from Yuri's pocket as he'd been speaking with a vendor about a loaf of bread. If there was one thing he wouldn't allow to be taken it was his flute. They could take the clothes off his back for all he cared at the moment, but no one took his flute. It, and the silven chain he wore around his neck, were the only things he had left of his parents. Not that he'd ever known his father. Slipping on a shingle, Yuri faltered his leap from one roof to another. He touched the rooftop with his foot, and thought he might make it, but the slate fell from beneath his boot and he went falling with it. Uttering a cry of surprise, he landed hard on his back. Winded and surprised, he groaned and closed his eyes, fighting to get air into his lungs. |

Zehavya walked slouching, through the markets and busy crowds. Her own thoughts wandering, and giving her ideas for when she encounters her next demon to hunt. How she loved killing demons, it was her favorite sport. Whenever she past a vendor that had weapons, she would stop to see if there was anything of worth purchasing, but she always shook her head, and walked on, going about. She arrived her not to long ago, maybe a day or two, she didn't keep track, but last night, she had a little problem with a human and half-dragon, the half-dragon accidently nearly killing the human. They're bickering reminded her of children fighting over a toy. She found it funny. Right then, a young thief ran by, holding something in his hands. He was fast and quick, but young. Then, come by an elf, who was chasing the young boy. She watched the young thief a while, then a small evil-like smirk crossed her face, and she was off then, at a run, after the kid, deciding to help the elf. Where the elf went, she didn't know, and cared less at the moment, once she was after something, nothing could take her mind off it. Something caught her eye, the elf was on the roofs, jumping from one to the next. Quickly, Zehavya looked ahead, dodging merchants and jesters, and and buyers. Soon she was out of the crowds, and near the boy. She noticed the elf fell, though, didn't go make sure he was OK. She was near the child. Her long legs carrying her far. As she was about to grab the boys collar, she tripped, and fell to her hands and knees. Her hands cutting open and knees. She turned her head to the side, to see what tripped her, and right there, standing over her was a large man with a long black robe, his face hidden in shadow, but his his eyes were a blood red. Anger filled her purple eyes. She blinked once, and when she looked there again, the robed figure was gone, and she cursed loudly, as she stood, and looked around her, for the man who was once there, but when she saw no sign of him, she looked for the thief, far ahead. ((TBH I'm quite glad to have the company. XD )) Theif. Flute. Mother... "Flute," he groaned, finally finding the ability to breathe. He lay a few moments longer, his back throbbing. He had been lucky enough to not land on anything apart from the flat, hard ground of the dirt alley, but it had been a hard enough hit to hurt significantly. Pushing himself up into a sitting position, he refrained from wincing and looked to the main street with a downcast expression. He'd most certainly lost track of the boy theif now. Someone had passed him while he'd been on the street chasing the boy, and he'd noticed the red-haired person while he'd been on the roof. They'd appeared to be part of the pursuit, and he wondered mildly if they'd caught the boy. Yuri stood and wandered back onto the street, hands in his pockets. He was out of the crowds now, the vendors several blocks behind. Apart from a few people, this section of street was bare, and the elf frowned at the figure standing in the middle of the road and looking away from him. Red hair... The same person who'd been chasing the boy? Why had they stopped? The boy was quite obviously not with the other. Pursing his lips, he stretched his legs into an easy run to the other. A woman, he quickly realised. Though he hadn't expected a man to have such long or well-cared for hair. Anything longer than his own easily proved dangerous in combat; not that Yuri had ever gotten into any serious brawls. "Ah, miss," he stopped a few paces behind her and called to get her attention. "I don't suppose you saw where the blonde boy went? He has something valuable of mine." Asking for help made him feel a bit awkward; he'd gotten himself into this predicament in the first place, after all. |

"Hi, watch it!" The crowded streets of Taras. It's impossible to get pass them without running into some one at least once. It seems that every single citizen of Taras was there. A kid just run by him, or actuley through him...Dalin almost tripped. He looked at the kid, yelling at him. The boy didn't care much, and kept running. Everyone is always in such a hurry here.. He looked at the kid, right before he disappeared in the crowd. He was holding something in his hand...a flute? But, Dalin wasn't going to stop and wander. He had a job to do. Another delivery. This time it was small items. Jewels. Few rings, magical, or at least that is what the mage that hired him told him. He had to deliver them to a certain house, to some guy that ordered them. Dalin was first surprised that the mage trusted him to deliver those rings, but the mage sealed them in a box and assured him that if he will open the box he will die a horrible death. Dalin didn't feel like checking if it was true. And either way, he wasn't planning on stealing them. This job will give him the last coins that he needed for a meal and a room in the local inn. It will be enough only for one night, but he will worry about a place to sleep tomrrow. Dalin kept walking, touching his backpack to ensure that the box is still there. That kid might have been a thief, and though he knew that it's unlikely that he will manage to take something out of his backpack without him noticing, he had to check. Problem is, there was no backpack. "Hey! Stop! Stop!" It wasn't Dalin that was yelling this time. An elf ran after the kid, yelling theif and saying something about some flute. The flute! The kid must have stole it, and now he stole Dalin's bag! Every thing he had was in that bag! You are going to pay, kid... Dalin ran after the kid, as fast as he could. The kid was fast, really fast, and Dalin was afraid that he might have lost him. Dalin begun running after the kid, taking a shortcut through one of the alleys. Luckly, after all the odd jobs he did around here, he knew the place quite well. Dalin finally managed to see him. He was coming right to him! Dailn smiled, jumped at the kid, which easily dogded. Dalin fall on the ground, hurting his knees. Dammit! Dalin stood up, and saw the elf asking some woman if she saw where did the thief go. She was slightly injured. Seems like he is not the only one chasing that kid. Dalin looked at the woman for a moment, before turning to keep chasing after theif. Then he stopped, turned back, and looked at her. He recognized her! "You..." Dalin mumbled, staring at her. |

She didn't notice when the elf came towards, but once he spoke, she flinched, her hand going on the hilt of her greatsword, but then, when she saw it was the same elf who was after the kid, she calmed. She listened to what he, and she looked away, and ahead at the street, looking for the kid also. "I know the kid has something of yours, if it didn't, there would be no reason to follow him. And he's there." She said, pointing towards the boy who took off down an alley, but Zehavya merely stood there, for a moment, looking sort of out of it, though, after a moment, she regained herself, and saw Dalin, then, a small smirk went on her face. "Hullo, again." She merely said, smiling ever so slightly. Then she went walking in the direction the child went, while staring at her hands that were bleeding from her fall. She put her hands together, and mumbled a word of magic, and there came a purple glow around Zehavya's hands, then, the light faded, and she put her hands on her side, both healed, except for scars. Zehavya then darted off towards the alley, which the kid ran through. Just as she got to the alley, he was running off into another street. She just chased him, hoping to catch the little thief. Why was she bothering herself with this, it wasn't her business to help others catch a thief, she was a demon-hunter, not a guard of Taras. But, she felt a need to just help out, sometimes she needed to do others things then just hunt demons, and she doesn't run into demons everyday, but the man that most likely tripped her, she saw him before, but where? She couldn't remember. She wondered if the elf and human were coming. |

A small, embarrassed smile crossed Yuri's lips when the woman pointed out the obvious, but it faded almost as soon as it had appeared. He wasn't going to let the kid get away with his flute. The elf caught a glimpse of the boy as he dissapeared into a alley where the woman pointed, and he started lurching in the general direction when the man showed up. He frowned, not sure what to make of the interaction of the two, then shook his head. "Ah, well... I'm going to, you know, go get him..." He suggested, feeling awkward again. He hadn't intentionally brought either of these people into his little chase, and felt stupid that he had. Guess that's what I get for shouting... Somehow the woman managed to get away without Yuri noticing, but none-the-less he ran off down the alley. Impressed with the woman's speed, he pushed himself just that bit harder and came out onto the next street, momentarily dazzled by the sunlight that streamed into the open area. He blinked, checked for the way the kid - and woman - had gone, then sped after them. As often was the case he had the sudden wish he could fly, and as always happened when he thought such things his back twinged uncomfortably, but he ignored it. "You don't have to help me," he called with a spare breath, catching up to the woman. "He's my problem." Shooting her a wry smile, he bent his will to the chase. The kid turned down another alley and Yuri followed, still several paces behind, and stopped abruptly. It was a dead end. Glancing briefly over his shoulder, Yuri turned his attention to the blonde boy. "Why do you want my flute, kid? It's not valuable - you won't be able to buy a meal with it, and you don't look the sort to be bothered to play it." The elf held a gloved hand out to the boy, his expression firm but not menacing. "Give it back to me without a fight and I'll give you bite to eat." |

The elf and the woman kept chasing the theif, leaving Dalin behind. Seems like Zehavya didn't reconize him...well, it was dark, maybe she didn't get a good look at his face. Well, didn't matter. What mattered is that this kid has his bag...though he really didn't see him holding it...Maybe he is hiding it under his clothes? Dalin saw the kid from behind when he ran away from him, it's possible that he kept his backpack under his shirt... Dalin kept runing after the elf and Zehavya. They were fast...Dalin tried to use some shortcuts to keep track of them, but still, it was almost impposible. Taking a turn through another side alley, he managed to get close enough to the elf and the theif to see them. Seems like the kid was trapped...It was a dead end...And Dalin saw a big bump in his shirt..His stomach? I don't think so...that's my backpack! "Why do you want my flute, kid? It's not valuable - you won't be able to buy a meal with it, and you don't look the sort to be bothered to play it. Give it back to me without a fight and I'll give you bite to eat," The elf said. Seems like he was tring to get his flute back without hurting the kid. As he was a kid, after all, Dalin had to agree. Dalin came behind the elf, breathing heavily. "Ya, ahhh, I would like my backpack too, thank you," Dalin said, leaning on one of the walls and wiping the sweat off his forehead. |

Yeah, she had recognized the human, she could never forget someone, well, she always remember faces, but names? She wasn't great with those, but oh well, she couldn't care. She noticed the elf running, she followed. After the kid ran into the alleyway, Zehavya slowed her pace, and went into a long strides, when she got to the alley, the elf was talking to the boy, she stopped and watched. The elf had spoke to her, before the kid went into the alley, though, then, she said nothing. If she felt like helping, she would. She leaned her shoulder against the alley wall, watching the child, a slight curious look in her eyes a moment, and she looked at the dead end wall, and cocked her head slightly, then, after a moment, looked at the human who finally showed up. "Poor child... damn people who can't give these kids good homes." Zehavya talked to herself in a whisper, looking again at the child. She continued to watch, saying nothing more, just watching the child, every now and then, glancing at the wall behind the blond haired boy. To them, she may look as if she was waiting patiently for something, but what, no one could tell. Who could? She was a crazy person, insane, those who do know that, hardly ever believe what she says, where she came from, others laughed and joked about her, talking behind her back, treating her like a child, just because sometimes she would speak nonsense, well, nonsense to their ears, but not to hers. She stood up straight, as if snapping out of something. She blinked a few times, then strode towards the kid, but then slowed her pace, then she crouched down, pulled an apple from a pouch, that looked very delicious. "Give their things back, and you can get this apple, and give you some gold, most likely worth more then what you stole." She said speaking soothingly almost. She had plenty of gold, from helping people with demon problems and such, her rewards were often in gold, and she never had much need for gold, she would normally give it to the poor and such, and this kid obviously needed something if he was stealing. |

The boy looked terrified, guilt spread across his face as he shrunk against the wall. It was obvious he wasn't getting out of this once the second man showed up, the three of them trapping him in the alley. Yuri remained very still, squatting in front of the boy with his hand still outstretched. He'd given the boy an option, and he would have thought the choice should be obvious. The elf glanced back at the woman when she mumbled something - he didn't catch what it was. His gaze turned to the man when he spoke, then face the child again. Looking between the three before him, the child opened his mouth as if to speak then snapped it shut again, his fingers clutching around the flute and his bulging shirt. The revealing of the apple made the child's eyes glimmer for a moment. He remained frozen, then in one sudden movement dropped the stolen items, snatched the apple, and pushed past the man and ran out of the alley. The elf, surprised at the sudden movement and speed of the boy, wouldn't have even had a chance to grab the child if he'd run off with the flute again. Shaking his head, he picked his flute up and wiped if off, then slid it into the side of his boot. Standing, he handed the bag to the man. "I guess he hasn't seen much honesty. It must be hard to be so young and so alone." Of course, there was no proof the kid was alone. But no child who'd seen kindness from adults would have been so scared. "Thanks for you help," Yuri offerred after a moment, inclining his head gratefully. "May the Mother hold you in her care for your generous actions." |

Dalin saw the poor little kid, terrified as he was trapped. Looking at the kid, Dalin felt no anger at all. Just pity. The kid was much like him when he was younger, even worse. Dalin had to steal when he was young, but at least he had a good man taking care of him. If this kid was not on his on, he clearly didn't have any loving family waiting for him back at home. If he had any home. He felt slight guilt for being angry at the kid. The elf and Zehavya offered the boy food, and Zehavya even offered him some gold. Dalin doubted that he would have offered any of these himself. Mainly because he didn't have either food or gold to spare, but not even if he had. He would have probably threaten the poor kid to give him his bag back. But the elf and Zehavya choosed to show kidness. How could he, a person who was probably able to identify with the kid more then either of the others in the alley, even consider it? When the kid droped the stolen items and snatched the apple, Dalin almost jumped at surprise. He was fast, very fast. The elf picked up Dalin's bag and offered it back to him, thanking him for his help. "Thanks," Dalin said, taking him bag back from the elf. "He took something that belonged to me too, after all. There is no need to thank me." He lifted his bag over his shoulder, looking one more time and the elf. "By the way, if you can play that flute of yours, you may want to check the local inn. I heared many musicians play there. Well, bye, I guess..." Dalin left the alley, heading for the adresss he was given to deliver the rings. As Dalin walked, he couldn't help thinking that he did something wrong. This small theft gave him alot to think about. |

When the boy dropped the stolen items, and ran by snatching the apple, Zehavya merely smiled, then stood, her hand resting on her greatsword. She leaned against the wall, watching the elf give the human the backpack. She looked at the human, a moment, before looking at the ground thinking when she was tripped, and the figure that wore a black cloak but he was gone when she blinked. She was trying to figure out who he was, but then, she remember, Fehade. Her Tiefling half-brother. She mumbled a small curse. Fehade, or Fade, loved to torment his demon-hunter sister, since he was unable to kill her, and she was unable to kill him. It was annoying. Then, she was pulled from her thoughts and looked up, the human was about to leave, and the elf offered thanks. She merely shrugged. "I just do what I can." She said, yawning slightly. She watched the human start to walk away. Now what was there to do for Zehavya? She helped with a thief problem, but now, she had nothing to do for the rest of the day, except wander the streets, to wait for night then hunt down Fehade, to see if she could try and kill him, though, she doubted that she would be able to, because of something holding them back. "Well, that was a fun little chase, not everyday I get to help with a theft problem." She said, stretching a moment, then glowered a second. "Argh, now I'm gonna be strained by tonight when I get to go play..." She moaned. |
