Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Dalin walked across the poor gloomy streets of Taras. It was late, cold, and no moon shined in the dark sky. In the darkness, every shadow looked like a thief, and he tried to stealth pass the few people he saw. This place was far from a being a friendly neighbourhood.
He just got to town, and the local inn was too expensive for him. With almost no money at all, he couldn't find a decent meal - not to mention a place to spend the night - and he was looking for a place to sleep. Any warm corner will do.
After few hours of pointless wandering, he found a little blanket next to a crate with some bottles of cheap wine. A man lie behind the crate on the ground with an empty bottle of wine in his hand. He breathed heavily and slowly.
Dalin gussed this man is either very drunk or sleeping, but either way he didn't seem to notice him.
He quickly took the blanket, hoping their owner won't notice, and began quietly walking away from the man. But it wasn't his lucky day. A street dog barked loudly somewhere nearby, and the man woke up with a grunt.
"Blasted dogs..." the man said as he stood up and reached for another bottle of wine. As he raised his head, his eyes fall on Dalin and on his "borrowed" blanket.
His face twisted in anger, and he broke the empty bottle on the crate, using the leftover as a weapon.
Presenting a mouth with many missing teeth, he yelled at Dalin: "Bring me back my blanket!"
"Ok, ok, relax..." Dalin said, shaking. he slowly putted down the blanekt, "I am just new here, and I needed something to.."
"Do you think I care?!" shouted the man. "No one steals from me!" and with that, he charged on Dalin.

The ugly undead loved the night. It was scary enough, and then people saw him and started to scream. He loved to see poeple screaming. He loved to see people suffering. Another thing he liked, is killing. Slowly and painfully.
Then he saw the homeless asleep. He wanted to wake him up to kill him, but the dogs allready did that. When he saw the rogue steals from that homeless, he was sure that he is evil, he stole from one that have nothing. And that stupid homeless - didn't he saw the dagger? He is a plain homeless with no weapons!
Fun time...
Eynalis took his staff and started to hit the homless. He pushed him to a pile of junk, and kept hitting him. The homless was bleeding to death.

I hope you learned your lesson, human.
He said to the poor homeless as he healed him.
Pitty It's just too fun to see you suffer to death.
He said, raising he's staff to the air, preparing for his next attack - this time, killing.

Dalin felt guilty for stealing from this poor man, but he didn't want to die.
But when that horrible creature came to his help...he was shocked when he saw what the undead was tring to do.
This man tried to kill him, but after all he stole from him, and that man didn't deserve to die.
The undead hitted the man, again and again. Dalin was still stunned of horror; so many things happened at once, and he was so confused...but he knew that he must stop that thing. To his surprise, the undead healed the man, but he quickly understood that he did it only to make him suffer more.
The undead raised his staff for the final strike, saying something that Dalin couldn't hear. All he could have thinked of is stopping him.
Withdrawing his dagger, he jumped on on the undead and the homless man.
"STOP!!!" Dalin yelled, jumping infront of the him, defending him and himself with his little dagger.

Eynalis heard the man shouts, what was cheering him to continue.
But then the rogue told to him to stop.
What? He is a rogue! He shouldn't care about other people!
He just tried to steal from him, and the man tried to kill him.
And the rogue tried to defend the homeless?
Who are you to stop me, human?
This man tried to kill you, and now he shall die.

The man tried to stand up and run, but Eynalis kicked him back to the ground before he even stood up. Eynalis stept on him with one lag, making sure he will not start to run.
Somthing inside told Eynalis to kill the homeless, and then kill the stupid rogue that actualy tried to stop him.
The rogue didn't looked really strong, but Eynalis was not so strong either.
Yes. If that rogue don't won't the homeless to die, maybe he will suffer from seeing him dies and a lot of pain. More suffering poeple, the better for Eynalis.
Well, If you have any problem with me killing that weak human, you are welcome to try and stop me. But I must warn you, soon enough you will have to bag that someone else will try to stop me from doing the same to you.
Eynalis hitted the man in his face, breaking his jaw. Then he stept on his face and broke his nose. He looked at the rogue to see if he take any action, and he was ready to strike again - at the rogue or homless. He didn't care who to kill first.
He didn't care who to kill.
He didn't care to kill.
He didn't care.

[/I]Dalin saw that the undead is going to kill this man. That thing wasn't much stronger then Dalin, but he was clearly stronger then that poor man.
Then he thought of something. Maybe that creature was dead, but he knew undeads could be dystroyed, and he hoped that the undead did not want to die.
"I don't think you want to die, undead," he said, looking in the face of this twisted creature, "you want to keep killing, and you can't do it if you will be dystroyed. Am I right?"
He tried to sound like he believes in his own words, but he wasn't sure that the undead fall for this.
He raised his dagger again, ready to charge. He stood infront of the man, willing to defend him as much as he could.
Must focus... he thought, looking arond, I am missing something...
And then he got it. In his fear, he forget where he is. He is in Taras, the huge port city! Maybe it was some dark ally, but it's still in Taras. And he is not the only man in Taras.
"Maybe I am not strong enough to stop you, but there are things wrost then me in this town," he said slowly, and took a deep breath of air before shouting: "GUARDS! UNDEAD!!! UNDEAD AT THE STREETS OF TARAS!" it won't take them long to come, I am sure more noticed you and they are already on their way...you can stay here and kill that one man, but I swear, I will not let you escape, and you WILL die. You will never grow in power, you will never kill again, you will go back to where you belong, hell. You don't want that, do you?"

Eynalis was dressed up from toe to head with a black rob. he putted the hood on, so it imposibble to notice that he is undead, exept for the smell.
A pitty that a rogue is the one who calls the guards. The rogue who just stole from someone else. For your own good, you better tell the guards that the undead left and i'm just a mage walking by. And for you, little homeless, you sufferd enough allready.
Eynalis putted his staff on the man's eye, and leaned against it.
It smashed the man's eye, and get to his brain.
the man managed to sout a small, quite scream before his brain was smashed
He cleaned his staff on the man's cloths.
Then, he took one of the man's empty bottles.
He potted a lot of blood in it.
The bottle was half broken, so it was more like a cup.
Mmm... tasty...
Eynalis looked at the blood like he is going to drink it.
Oops, sorry!
He said while throwing it on the rogue.
The rogue's shirt was coverd in some blood now.
How could you kill him? I knew that rogues are evil!
Eynalis said like the rogue killed the man, and laughed. Then a guard came in. He looked at the dead man, and the mage, and at the blood coverd rogue.
What the hell is going on here?!

(OOC: ok, first of all, you said in your first post that when people saw you they screamed. Dosen't that mean that people did noticed you?
Second, Dalin is not having a chat with Eynalis, he is standing infront of the man and defending him, as I said in my third and fourth post:
Quote:

"STOP!!!" Dalin yelled, jumping infront of the him, defending him and himself with his little dagger. He raised his dagger again, ready to charge. - He stood infront of the man, willing to defend him as much as he could.

You can't just ignore that fact and beat the man! on the first post he was shocked, but he got over it in the second post, and defended the man. So you can either fight him, or talk to him. You can't go through him - and he is not standing and letting Eynalis pour blood on him! And before we get to it, Dalin is a better fighter. He may be using a dagger, which is smaller then a staff, but it is more deadly, and his fet is combat reflexes, which means that he fights better then the undead mage. So, if you don't mind, the man is only injured, not dead. Considering the fact that you should have never reached him, you shouldn't complain. I am not sure how the blood got to Dalin, but let's say that he did, and that the man LOOKS dead, but he is not.)

"What the hell is going on here?!" the guard yelled. More guards came from other directions, closing on Dalin and on the undead. One guard looked much stronger then the others - he had a shiny armor, clearly better then of the other guards, and he wore some kind of a badge. "Sir, I found them like that! that man," he said, pointing on Dalin, "he, he killed him!"
The guard, that was clearly the one in charge, kneeled next to the homeless with his back to Dalin. Dalin couldn't see what he was doing, but when he raised up he said "he is alive. you and you, get this poor folk to the hall of healing, will you?" two guards carried the man and got out to the alley.
"You are coming with us," said the guard, and looked at dalin. The guards stood ready with their weapons, closing a circle on Dalin and the undead.
"No, no, wait! the man was beated with a blunt weapon, not stabbed!"
The guard, not moving his eyes from Dalin and the undead said "is that true?"
A voice from outside the circle of guards yelled "yes, sir, it is. No stabs."
The guard looked at the undead. "Well, you are coming with us too. we will still need to question you, rogue, you were still here, and -"
Dalin was angry, very angry, and the undead. It was his first day here, and he didn't feel like getting into trouble.
Quickly, before any guard managed to do anything, he throwed his dagger at the undead's hood.
The guards were about to attack him, but they stopped when they saw what the rogue did. His dagger pulled the hood down, and now they saw the undead's face.
"LOOK!" Dalin said, though everyone already clearly noticed.
"GET HIM!" shouted the man in charge, "Kill that THING!"
Dalin noticed that there was a hole in the circle of guards. one exit.
He was about to tell them..

( what the hell! If Eynalis managed to hit him with a staff, he was clearly close to him. and beside, the man was on the floor while Eynalis healed him. You can't just jump in! and beside, a starting rogue can't be that accurate to actually hit the hood but not the face. Oh well, lets just keep RPing)
So I was unluck with life. So what?
Eynalis pointed at a blanket near to Dalin.
Eynalis felt like he was starting to getting more powers, that the dead are along his side. But it was not complete - he had to wait to get full powers.
He needed some time.
The fact he is an undead did not metter, if vampires are allowed here. But the fact that he is a killer, did metter.
If Eynalis wasn't flanked, he would allready run.
He putted his hood on his face, so it would be easy to escape.
He Had to buy some time.
I am sorry to tell you, but it's a pitty that I'm not the only one with a blunt weapon around here. you see, there were a few kids that hitted the man, and I came to his help. I saw them running, and then that rogue came in. And now you blame me! And why? Because a rogue said so? And undead are allowed here, just as vampires, demons and fiends.
This could buy him the precius time he needed.

(Okay, I hate doing this, but I need to bring something to your guy's attention: Gabara, you are on the brink of Power-playing, and if you have read the rules, it is not allowed. An example of power playing is when you control someone else's character, like having him talk. If I read your post correctly, you had the forsakend one's character say something that he did not say in his post before your's.

Eynalis, Gabara was right to say something in OOC to you his last post; you cannot ignore what his Character was doing, and where his character was. You have to learn how to interact with other peoples' characters.

I will be watching this post from now on, until I am sure that you both can RP respectfully with each other. And please, if you have forgotten any of the rules, go read them again.)

"Ahh, I am sorry, few kids? Didn't you say that I killed him? Or maybe I got it wrong when you said 'How could you kill him? I knew that rogues are evil!' and I really don't think that vampires are allowed here, or demons - the fact that they manage to get into Taras dosen't mean that the poeple of Taras are fine with that. It just means that the guards weren't good enough to notice that they are demons, or vampires, or whatever."
The guards stared at them. They looked to their leader, that guard that was in charge. He began talking, slowly. "The rogue got a point there, you didn't say that thing about the kids when we came here. You said that he did it. And the fact that you are, well, dead, does makes you look a bit suspicious. I think you need to come with us. You too, rogue."
Dalin smiled. An investigation will prove the undead's guilt, and Dalin will be released in no time. Finally, justice...
But luck, once again, wasn't on Dalin's side. A cat, chased by a dog, ran past the guards, or actually, through the guards...
About half of the guards fall, opening a huge exit for the undead.
"IDIOTS, DON'T LET THEM ESCAPE!" Shouted the guard.
Dalin wasn't about to let the undead escape. He was ready to draw out his dagger...but there was nothing there!
His dagger was on the ground! he throwed it at the undead, and now he was defenseless. The guards will stand up in few seconds, but few seconds was probably all the undead needed.

Eynalis knew exactly what to do. He ren to the dagger and took it.
He past the guards easly, but then one of them was standing infornt of him
Out of my damn way!
Eynalis putted his staff in front of him, so when he crushed at the guard, the staff hitted him and he felt. Incase the rogue will start chasing him, he throwed the dagger to the other side - so Dalin needed to pick - the dagger, or Eynalis. Eynalis - death. Dagger - arrest.
I will let you have your pathetic dagger, so you can defend yourself against the guards. Pitty that against me its useless.
Eynalis said while laughing and running away.
Forget about that damned undead!!
It would be easy to find him here. GET THAT ROGUE!!
said the one in charge.
Eynalis was unable to be seen - he was on another street and he was dreesed in black. But his terrible smell could tell you if you are close.

Dalin watched as the undead ran into the night.
"Well," said Dalin "Considering the fact that I didn't run, he first said that I did it and then said that he saw that someone else did, he had a stuff and the man was beated and not stabbed AND he is an undead, I think it it pretty clear who did it."
The guard in charge bit his lip. "I want at least five guards after that undead. Send two guards to the gates, we need to increase the security. Undead in the streets of Taras, outnumbered and flanked, and you couldn't catch him.."
A bunch of guards went after the undead. Two guards went another way. Only the guard in charge, Dalin, and the three guards that carried the homeless to the hall of healing, and now came back, stayed there.
"May I pick my dagger?"Asked Dalin.
"Not yet. I am sorry, we still need to question you." Dalin told him what happened. How he came here and it was his first day, and he needed a place to sleep, and the homeless tried to kill him, and the undead that came and beated him, though when he talked about the blanket, he said that he thought it was there and he couldn't see the owner behind the crate.
He was pretty sure that the guard noticed his lie, but he seemed to ignore it. Maybe because he was sure that the undead did it and did not care, maybe because he felt sorry for Dalin.
"Well, that's all we needed to know." he said, turning his back to Dalin. "trust me, usally we have better security here...some guards are going to get fired, I assure you. And you might need this." he said, picking the dagger from the ground and throwing it to Dalin.
"Just one more thing...will this guy that the undead beated be alright?" Dalin asked, as he felt that for some reason that was his fault.
"Of course he will be, we got amazing healers in the hall of healing, and his wounds are not too bad. He will get because on his feet in less then a day."
"And sir, said Dalin to the leaving guard, will you catch this guy?
The guard stopped. "No. he probably left town by now, and if he didn't, he will soon. I am sorry. and by the way," the guard said, turning around to smile a sad smile at Dalin. "Welcome to Taras."

Eynalis knew that Taras is large enough, so it would be hard to find him there.
He had some more time to play.
The command of high-secure will take a long time to pass, but he didn't wanted to take any chance. If he will not kill, the necrotic powers in him will fade. He had to kill. A few homeless people will be found dead in the morning, or even that night if someone will look. Oh well, a few less homeless poeple. Nobody cares about them anyway. As Eynalis walked, he tought - How will he get Dalin back for that? The rogue's body looked so...Destoryable. He knew he had to get him out of town first.
He walked back to the the place, and he saw him talking with the guards.
Eynalis watched the guards leaving.
He took a pen and a bottle he found on one of the poeple he killed.
He then wrote -
Come and play outside, wretched mortal.
He rolled it on the floor to Dalin, and started to run away.
He walked only in the darkest streets, so if Dalin will run too, he would probely be there first. But only if he would not follow ofcourse. Eynalis made the path his choosed clear - he broke anything that was easy to destroy on his path.
But he made sudden turns so it would be easy to loose the path.

Dalin was ready to sleep. He was sure the day was over, and that he could finally get some rest. He just wanted to sleep and forget about the horrible being that tried to kill him. A bottle rolled on the floor and hitted Dalin's foot, and a man in black robes ran into the night.
But he knew it wasn't a man - it was the undead.
He picked the bottle. There was a note inside. Dalin broke the bottle on the wall, took out the note and read:
-Come and play outside, wretched mortal-
He looked at the note. He was angry at the undead, that almost killed him and the homeless, a creature that killed and will kill many more.
He was ready to go after the undead and dystroy him, but the reasonable part in Dalin's mind told him not to. If I will get out of town, I will die. Though, if I stay here, I might die aswell. The most reasonable thing to do is to find a better place to sleep in. If he is still watching me, I will simply run somewhere. He will go outside, waiting for me, but I will never come. And the guards will never let him get back in Taras.
"No," he whispered. "I will not kill you. not today. but one day, one day, you will pay." He looked at the alley which the undead ran into, fighting the urge to go after the undead. He spitted on the ground and went in the other direction.

His not-so-warm corner was in a main trading area. Not many people were there, apart from the guards. Sometimes few people passed by, and the many guards stopped every man that passed, looking at his face and then letting him go. Dalin assumed that it is more then the usual security level here - the order must have passed by now. He lie down, covered himself with his blanket and tried to sleep.
He will not sleep well near so many guards and will wake early when people will start coming to buy from the shops, but here he was safe. The undead, if he was foolish enough to stay in town, will never reach him without being killed by the guards, and if he left, he will probably never manage to get back into town.
At least until some time will pass.
Not the most honorable start, Dalin thought as he tried to sleep. Stealing from a homeless man and sleeping on the streets...and this undead...this place is not better then home. Maybe even worse...but then again, it was just my first day. I will get a job tomorrow, earn some money and rent a room at the inn...And though I did steal from a man, a man even more poor then me, I think that by saving his life, we got even... with the comfort those thoughts gave him, he fall asleep.

It was ealy night when Eynalis quited. The lights in the city were all off, and with his black robes it was impossible to see him. He snealed everytime a guard passed by, and did what he knws the best - be quit as death.
He saw a sleeping man on a dark, empty street, far away from the middle of the city. He killed that man, and led him to the place he and the rogue met.
He took the same bottle he wrote on, and smashed it on the dead body. with the blood, he wrote on one of the walls -

You have no idea what powers the dark side can give you,
an evil rogue is more powerful then you think.
If you will not join, then I will make you, and you will be just like me.
WE ARE THE SAME!

Eynalis was once a good person like that rogue, and now he is a monster.
Maybe Dalin will be the same, but alive.
Maybe Dalin will be the same.
Maybe.
