Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

A long time ago, Laoura wrote down how much gold and what kind of items one can ask for on their Birthday as a present from Imythess. Right now, I need your help finding this small piece of the past which is in either the rules or a post somewhere. My many thanks ahead of time, as I know many of you will be searching and I do really appreciate you taking out the time to give me a hand with this. ^_^

From what I remember:

The birthday present system effectively stated you may choose any spell/item from the shop that does not have an item number limit (like epic spells and magical weapons), with a cost no higher than 300 gold. While the true value is a little rusty to me, it is between 200 and 300.

I don't necessarily remember there being an option to claim actual gold, since it was supposed to be a birthday gift.

I think there was a limit to only one character per person, to prevent someone with twenty accouts from claiming twenty gifts.

Good timing on the thread, I guess, since my birthday is tommorrow, haha!

The limit is actually 100 gold. I looked up way back when I actually bothered to make use of it myself.

And of course Sargoth is right about one gift ber user, not matter how many accounts.

Hmm, odd. When I was still a co-admin I re-wrote the info about birthday stuff and I thought I pinned it in the announcements forum. It possibly died in the server crash, though. The re-written rules were that there was a 100 gold limit on the item, or you could accept the 100 gold. You had 5 days after your birthday to claim it.
