Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Arthur had recently been about Imythess for months seeking to better himself in the blade as well as knowlegde. His searches had lead him far and wide to very corners of the realm. Now he was back among the people of the land this time in the Taras library searching for a particualr book of history that would help him on his quest to be the best swordsmen alive. A book that would help him find Veronna Goddes of Blades and be able to be taught by her in the art of the sword. This book also held clues to the legendary sword Excalibur which was once weilded by his ancestors long ago. He kept searching and searching but found nothing in the endless waves of books. He was growing desperate till he found an unexplored sector of the library and went down it. He noticed someone there and went up and asked," Could you help me find a certain book".

Pouring over a large leather bound book that nearly doubled her lap, Lehona had barely realized that she had been asked a question. A small hand shot up, her long belle sleeves falling to reveal her delicate wrist while her other hand remained in the open book, moving back and forth rather quickly as her eyes chased it across the page.

It was important to her that she finish these last few lines before being interrupted. For a moment, she thought it rude, but she was in such a state that she felt this slight rudeness could be tolerated considering the fact that she was being disturbed. Lehona had spent nearly all of the day within the library with little help from the short, stout woman who called herself a librarian. When asked for help, she had done nothing but wrinkled her nose and pointed in the general direction that the young half-elf would need.

Finishing the paragraph, Lehona looked up with a quizzical look. Her head tilted to the side as she drifted away, into what appeared to be thought, her long ginger hair cascading freely over her right shoulder. Spotting the stout human female, an anger suddenly flared up inside her. She was looking quite helpful to another human female who shook her head at nearly every book that was brought in front of her. It appeared, if only to Lehona, that a half-elf did not possess the proper status for assistance in the library. Perhaps if she was not so tall and her ears were a bit more rounded at the top, it would be no trouble then to receive a bit of help.

Giving a great sigh, she finally turned her gaze to the gentleman who had approached her. She could not tell much about him as he had stopped just short of the light that shone in from the tall window at her back. As the day waned, the colors that filtered in through the glass had become slightly more red in color. Lehona realized that the room was tinted in a soft reddish tone, giving it a warm feeling, which was shared by only two. Offering a polite smile, she gave a small bow of her head though did not stand up from the table that she was sitting upon.

"While I can do my best, I am no librarian." Lehona gestured toward the small, stout woman who was now laughing with a much taller man who had entered only a few moments ago. The sight of them made Lehona want to scream, but she restrained herself masterfully. The rage that built inside her went unnoticed as the smile still shone without waver. It could not be soon enough that she could leave this place and forget all about that woman and her dislike of elves.

Arthur smiled at the woman who clearly had some elf in her blood. He stepped into the light reveling himslef and said," The librarian wouldn't help me, she doesn't like me that much, never figured out why, of course it could jsut be the sword". He chuckled and tapped the blade at his side. He then said," I am looking for a particular book that I have been unable to find, its called The History of Blades, its very rare and I belive this library has one of the 4 copies that have ever been made, it is very important that I find it". He smiled at her his voice and manner did not have the hint of urgency but more of desire and purpose and Arthur hoped he had not come off as rude.

There was silence as Lehona appeared to stare at Arthur as if admiring him for a few moments. Then she quickly scooted down off the table, running an hand down the side of her dark slacks absentmindedly as she dodged the edge of the table and started sifting through the many books that had been hiding behind her.

"I had picked it up by accident..." Her voice trailed off and she glanced at Arthur for a brief moment before she continued to shuffle through the books. Lehona was setting those that were informative to her off to one side and stacking those that were not in a large pile on the table behind her.

"Hmmm..." It looked as though she was thinking to herself now and was little conversation, leaving Arthur there in silence. Lehona had straightened after all of the books had been looked over. Now, she lightly tapped a slender finger slowly against the tabletop as she tried to remember where the book Arthur wanted had gotten to.

As if the idea had popped inside her, Lehona had jolted and shook her head as if to say 'of course' and hurried across the room, brushing past Arthur toward the push table that rest in the corner. It was by accident she had picked it up, but it was not by accident she had returned it to be put away quickly.

Arthru watched her get up and brush past him toward this cart filled ith books and Arthur followed after her. He wondered who she was and what she herself was doing here probably looking for somethign as well. He came up behind her and looked at the cart and said," It would be that, always under my nose and never able to see it, I guess what they say is true if you keep your eyes in the sky you can never know where you step". He chuckled slightly and said," I am sorry for not introducing myself but I am Arthur, Arthur Pendragon".

He liked to get to know people it helped him understand cultures and worlds beyond his understanindg. He also wanted people to know him so that they would not judge merel by sight but by learning. One must never judge a book bys its cover or so it was said. He then aksed," It was here that you last saw it yes" ?

( sorry its so short and took me so long to reply but I have been really busy)

Lehona laughed as he spoke, finding herself a bit bashful once she realized that he had followed up behind her while she searched for the book he requested. He was charming, she would give him that much. Lehona let her green eyes glance over her shoulder, stealing another look at him and then was unable to help the smile that spread across her face seconds later.

"Well Arthur Pendragon, it is a pleasure to meet you." Lehona had turned to face him again after scooping up one of the larger books in her arms and was now holding it close to her chest. Bowing her head slightly, she felt a nervous itch deep inside her stomach as she introduced herself in return.

"Lehona Palewind, avariel by look, human at heart." She said this playfully, but there was a sudden nagging inside her. How was she supposed to be laying low if everyone she had come across knew her as an avariel? Lehona smiled once more and simply turned away, then realized she had the book in her arms already and turned back quickly.

"Oh, forgive me," she laughed, holding out the book to him in both hands. Her long ginger hair had fallen slightly over her eyes, a look that was oddly natural as the soft green of her eyes and dark red of her hair mingled so nicely together against a creamy white canvas. "This is it, isn't it? There is no title, but I can't remember there being one when I had seen it last. Do you recognize the book at all Arthur Pendragon?"

Arthur smiled at her she obviously seemed flustered when she metnioned being Avarile he didn't midn that of course he didn't want veryone in the wolrd to know he was a half-dragon and so in that he shared sometihing with people who had things to hide. Arthur looked at the book she held out and she was right it had no title but it was old and a bit worn and Arthur said," Thank you let me see".

He took the book and opened it the first page was in an anceint form of runes he barely understood it was merely a guide of sorts. He then flipped ot the next page and in it was an anceint text of the Draconic language whic hArthur udnerstood perfectly. He smiled and said," This is it, it is one of the few books to be totally written in Draconic, each of the 4 versiosn are written in a diffrent langauge this one here is the rarest for it is the most true because it is impossible for anyone but a dragon to lie in Draconic, luckily for me I understand draconic".

He looked up at her and his face brightened and he said," Thank you you have no idea how this helps me, I can finally continue my quest for that which is mine". He sighed and flipped a few pages and marked a certain spot and tucked away the book and said," You need not feel uncomfortabel about telling me what you are we are all diffrent, of course I am more diffrent than some comes with the territory of what I am, but still I tahnk you for helping me".

Lehona had not been able to read the book herself let alone recognize the language, draconic was a difficult language for many to comprehend. Even still, it had been her intuition that had her so sure that this was the book that Arthur sought. It was very pleasing to her when his face brightened and she returned it with a warm smile of her own. Securing the long, soft looking hair that had fallen into her face behind an ear that was slightly pointed, Lehona studied him for a few moments without saying anything at all.

"You do not appear to be that different to me, Arthur." The name was quite pleasant to say aloud and she caught herself saying it again for a second time. She wondered if it would go unnoticed or if it would seem out of the ordinary to the man that stood in front of her. While it was not a lie that he did not look that different to her and though the room had been flooded with an inviting hue by the setting sun, Lehona had seen nothing that would set him apart from any other human male that she had encountered in the past. Curiosity burned inside her, but she continued on without question of his background. The last thing that she intended to do was to make him feel uncomfortable by being interrogated by a half elf.

"That book had been buried back there, with a whole lot that I sifted through. I had only picked it up because I was in such a hurry. It is amazing to me that you can even understand what is written, though I had a strong, rather unexplained notion that it was meant for you." She said this while returning to the table to gather up the rest of the books that she decided to be useless to her, if only for the time being. Lifting up one of the taller stacks, she carefully carried them back toward the push table in the corner. It was her curiosity that stopped her before she reached her destination and though she fought back the urge, she failed in the attempt to keep out of his business.

"You say you are on a quest? What sort of quest if you do not mind me asking?" Taking a few hesitant steps forward, Lehona kept her inquisitive eyes on him. She tried to set the books down without looking at what she was doing and nearly toppled the entire stack in doing so. Luckily, her aim had been alright and only the topmost books fell. Even though the books landed onto the top of the push table rather than the floor, they still created a loud clatter that would have surely gathered attention if the room had been occupied by anyone other than Lehona and Arthur. Looking rather regretful that she hadn't been paying attention, Lehona caught Arthur's eye and giggled softly in the wake of the near accident. But her eyes widened as they darted toward the hall leading into the rest of the library like a small child who had just been caught as the soft shuffle of footsteps sounded from around the corner.
