Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

((OOC: Continuation of 'A Dark Night...' AD has no summoning levels yet in this thread.))

She really had no idea how much of the night had passed, but day or night made little difference to her. She could see as well in both, function as well in both, and time had never made much of a difference to her. She remembered drinking that Fire Water though, and knew better then to do that again. Aether Draka was feeling better already, not realizing it was mostly because she wasn’t hung over anymore. Pharos on the other hand, seemed to have forgotten her very first comment to him, a hint at the fact that one of her friends was also demonic. In fact, it was also the wings that had caught her attention. True flight was a bit of a passive obsession for her; as in, whenever she was presented with the thought she would wish she had wings too. Flight was just… indescribable. It was power, freedom, and so much more. She loved it.

She was walking the streets of Taras for a reason though, so wings and flying left her thoughts for the moment. She wasn’t the only one doing so, her new friend Phiros was there too and she was glad for the company. AD hated doing things on her own and she also didn’t like being the only one to remember something either. She was glad that he agreed with her. Now to actually find a guard. There was always the idea of yelling, as noise often brought them in groups. She was worried about that though. They would no doubt attack him on looks alone and if someone who was part celestial decided to show… Well, she could always summon aid of her shadow illusions... She stopped at a crossroad, looking from left to right and back. Still not seeing anyone she turned to see if Phiros had seen anyone.

Phiros had followed closely behind Aether Draka, not knowing exactly where he was. This was the first time he's ever stepped foot in this city. Hell, he didn't even know what this city was called. As he and Aether made their way down the street, nothing would come into sight. No guards, no people, no nothing. Then he remembered, it was late at night. Well past midnight, for sure. Perhaps no one was out this late.... then again, when times like this arose it usually meant a trap. After all he was a half-fiend, his giant wings told everyone in his path just that.
Suddenly, Aether stopped. Her tiny head glanced to the left, then to the right, then back again. The look upon her face was one of expectancy. She was waiting for something. Was it for a reaction? Maybe so.... but why would she even care about him, or for anything he may or may not do. Maybe for once in Phiros' life someone was showing interest in him....perhaps, that or he's just getting screwed over.

Phiros' gleaming eyes leered to the right. His sight would stretch well across the streets of Taras. Still, nothing to be found. He then narrowed his eyes to the left, scanning the streets on that end as well. Again, nothing. Finally he paid due attention to Aether Draka, who he now knew as a tough as rock kinda girl, thanks to the tavern scene. He knew if it was some sort of trap lead by the humans of this place, she would not go down without a fight... and neither would he."I smell a trap... I can't believe these worthless creatures think they stand a chance against us... their betters. It's sad really..." a smile came across his face, his eyes flashing red now, "We shall be their liberators this day, yes.... let us inflict as much pain and agony as we can upon them!" Phiros was getting ahead of himself. He didn't know if it was a trap, he only predicted it. Most of the time though, he was right on all his hunches.... hopefully, he was right on this one, too.

A trap? She hadn’t really thought that someone would set a trap for them? Why would they? She looked back around, looking for signs of someone trying to hide nearby. Still, she didn’t see anyone. Staying on the streets didn’t seem like a good idea anymore though. AD set her goal for looking for something else then, a way to get to high ground, as in the roof tops. She didn’t see anything for sure. She stepped back a step to look behind Phiros and then smiled to herself and shook her head. She had forgotten… With a plan of action forming in her mind she reached into her pack and pulled out the real life fly dragon that she had made a shadow illusion of not long ago. She let it go when his tiny claws gripped her finders. ‘What?’ Turin asked her with a telepathic quirk.

“Phiros thinks there might be a trap. Go look for them for me, and come back if you find them.” She instructed him. He bobbed his tiny head and zipped away from her fingers, did a circle around Phiros’ head and started an incredibly fast search pattern from just around them, circling out further and further at each pass until he was passing over the roof tops and out of sight.

Aether Draka looked at Phiros. “It wouldn’t surprise me if the barkeep or one of his buddies decided to tip of ‘the authorities’ about what happened in the tavern. Like they even knew what really happened. Shall we turn the tables on them? Then we get to pick where to fight at. Any ideas? We can use to rooftops if you don’t think they are, and you can still get higher then them.”

Phiros glanced one side of the street to the next. Even though there was not a single physical being in sight, he couldn't help but sense something strange was afoot. He did not care for his own safety, but his new friend concerned him greatly. She may have proven herself back at the Bloodseal tavern with the jockey of a bouncer, but against soldiers out for their heads... he didn't quite know if she could handle it all. Perhaps she could though, her aura's power was nothing too short of his own. Hell, she could be masking her true power, keeping it hidden from his senses for all he knew. Whatever the case, Phiros was going to witness Aether Draka's power first hand, that is, if there was indeed a trap waiting for them....

Phiros was fascinated by the small dragon Aether had spawned yet again, unlike last time though, the dragon flew about this time. He went around Phiros' head, and then to the rooftops and eventually, out of sight. It was that time when Phiros spoke to Aether, "Alright... to the rooftops we go. I don't trust these foolish humans." Phiros glanced to his rear, then to his side, then the other side. He was showing Aether just how little he trusted ther humans, as he stated. However, that also allowd Aether sight into Phiros character. The way he was fidgeting would tell her straight; Phiros trusted no one... and for valid reasons.

With that, Phiros held out both his arms and spread his glorious wings as far as they possibly could. "Care for a ride? Or do you have another trick to get you up there...?" Phiros snickered, not allowing his gaze to remain in one spot for too long, for he and Aether could be attacked at any time....

He seemed to be really worried about them. Did people cause him a lot of trouble? Perhaps he really didn’t have much of a way to hide what he was. She hid, she was very good at hiding, hiding anything and everything she had, she was… was she a danger to him? If truth be told, she did know how to kill a demon like him. First thing to do would be to ground him, severing the tendon leading from the wing’s ‘elbow’ to his back, then his spine. A distance shot to his spine would kill him too, though demons never realized they are dead and he would probably still try to fly or something else. That was why you had to stop flight first, it slows them down. Cutting the tendon also makes it imposable to hold the wing up, encumbering the demon more. Then you could get behind the useless wing and sever his spine. She was not inclined to do that though, he was not a foe after all. So, that was where she needed to protect him.

How much of an influence did humans have on him? He was demonic, but what else? With him looking about like that, he was making her nervous. She didn’t really want to get caught in part of the War. Not again, she was learning to hate the War and those who seemed to fight it so blindly. If some sort of angel was around she had no idea how Phiros would react and what if she knew the angel... Humans, she wanted them to be nothing more then humans… Humans were simple, ignorant, blind… simply fodder, to be reborn again as either slaves or, if they were lucky, something stronger. They were easy to kill though if you knew how. Much easier then killing demons…

Aether Draka hesitated at his question though. She did have a way to get up there on her own, more then one way should the need arise, but… she wanted to fly, she really did. Why did he have to ask it that way? She bit her lip with one of her very small fangs and debated what she should answer. “I do have ways of getting up to the rooftops, but… can I have a ride?”

Phiros laughed a bit to himself, conjuring up the best looking smile he possibly could. Strangely, the smile that he did bring forth was one that had not showed itself in quite some time. It was a smile fit for someone with happiness in their life, for someone with a family, a friend... a glimmer of hope. Phiros had none of these things, so it only made the smile appear even more strange when it was brought to life by the rediculously paranoid Phiros. And so, as quickly as he could, the Winged Demon would hide his smile. Whether Aether Draka seen it or not was unknown to Phiros, for he had quickly turned away, his back being the only thing Aether could rest her gaze upon. Ah... that was weird. thought Phiros, turning back to Aether, his smile now completely gone; replaced with his usual, dull look.

"Ofcourse, Draka. My wings are your wings, atleast for this short time, heh heh." Phiros chuckled, not warning Aether about the incoming hold he would place her in. She was light, almost like holding his staff with both hands. It's been so long since he's held something, something alive, something that shared the same air as himself. So when Aether's soft, warm skin touched his own, he immediately fell victim to the vile blush. Damnit! She better not see this! Phiros shook his head, trying desperately to rid himself of the blush that haunted him so. "Ok..." in mid-sentance, the eyes of Phiros fell upon Aether's. His blush still in existence, and most defanately apparent. Again, he quickly looked away, sending his stare to the rooftops, their destination. "Let's go...." following that, Phiros would clear his throat. A small escape from the awkwardness that now filled this very moment in time, atleast to him.

The flapping of his wings would commence just then. Both Phiros and Aether were then lifted from the ground and were one with the sky. The wings were so gigantic and massive, the two were practically shot into the sky in an instant. For awhile Phiros floated about the night sky, before realising that his presence would surely be found out if he were to be seen. As a result, Phiros made his way to the closest rooftop he could see. With a slight thud they landed, still, Aether Draka in the arms of the great Winged Demon....

OOC - I think Phiros has taken a liking to Aether, haha. And uh, sorry I took so damn long, I didn't even realise you posted XD I remember you were saying you'd be gone for awhile, so I automatically assumed you wouldn't be able to post for quite some time. So yeah.... sorry again.

((OOC: Not a problem! Question though, as AD has been picked up and carried countless ways, would you mind giving me a better idea of how she was picked up exactly?))

Aether Draka saw him smile for just a moment then turn about. Had he heard something? She shifted her weight to try and peer around his wings, but it must have been nothing as he turned back around only a moment later. She was glad he didn’t take offence to her asking if he could fly her up instead of her making her own way up there. It would be easy enough, as she had been around here before and it was night.

He caught hold of her without warning, but so many did that that she didn’t really panic, but did give a small startled gasp as she breathed in sharply. She looked up and realized he was blushing. Why he was, she really had no clue. Curiosity almost made her ask, which would have no doubt make it worse, but they were airborne before she had formed the question in her mind.

Once they were off the ground she was filled with what could only be described as pure happiness. She literally loved to fly and is, in a way, addicted to it. Sadly though, she has no wings of her own. There is a difference between flying with wings or with a spell or such. It was the wings flight, true flight, that she loved so much.

Then, all too quickly, the flight was over. She looked back up at the sky for a moment, in longing, but then remembered they were up here for a reason. She was going to ask him something though… what was it?

The air was gentle, the night beautiful. However, as gentle as the wind was and as breath taking as the darkness of the night was, they both failed in comparison when put beside the girl who was still within the Winged Demon's now tightened hold. Alright. So we're on the roof.... said Phiros solemnly to himself, his eyes scanning the rooftop's components, giving each object a look of disgust, as if each one was a long hated enemy of his.... a long dispised enemy.
Then he rememebered; Aether Draka was still in his arms and they have been standing on the rooftop for quite some time now. Perhaps the time to let her go was now? "Oh... sorry..." his grip around the girl loosened, allowing her small, frail body to drop to the rooftop below. He retracted his wings just then, knowing they were much too big to be let loose. His enemies might see them, and his position would be given away. He couldn't have that. Not now, not ever. If his wings were ever going to be a nuissance, it wasn't going to be with humans. Dirty, greedy, despicable creatures they were. Always wanting, always taking. They really were going to be the death of all races one day. Atleast.... in Phiros' view.

Phiros tried hard not to look at Aether, he didn't want to be turned red again. No... that was something he could not have happen. He was known as a strong being. A worthy foe for all warriors. He couldn't have himself be caught in such a weak state. Head over heels over this girl... Aether Draka. No, he had to hide his feelings... he couldn't afford to like someone. He just couldn't. So he made the decision to hold back his feelings, his urges.... atleast for now.
Phiros walks across the flat surface of the rooftop, dragging his feet along the way. Then, he spoke, "Alright. We'll probably be safe enough up here. Until things die down." he said with a hint of concern in his tone. He may have stated it was 'safe enough' but the reality was they weren't. Phiros didn't know why... after all they were on one of the highest rooftops around. So why the hint of concern? Phiros didn't really know.... but he felt something was wrong... something strange was afoot..... something.... but what?

Aether Draka felt his grip lessen and gravity pulled at her once more. She landed softly though, much softer then Phiros had. She stood for a moment and looked back up at the sky. Yes, they were looking for a trap… she reminded herself and looked back up once more. She was going to have to do something about this flying thing… Looking down she was reminded of the shoes on her feet. No… they were not flying, not like Raven, or Anara, or Lynthaer, or Phiros could fly… even her grandmother and her father could fly, so why couldn’t she?

She realized Phiros had moved away from where she stood, the noise he was making as he walked drawing her attention with a quick turn of her head. Drawn out of her musing she said without even thinking about it. “You’re making enough noise for anyone in the building to hear though.” She shrugged and walked over to the other side, no real noise coming from her feet as she moved. She paused halfway there though as a voice reached her mind.

'They are over here! Come quickly to the roof you spoke to Seele on!' AD blinked in surprise at the fact that the fly dragon had mentioned someone by name, even if it was only in her head, but he had been with her the entire time she had been on Imythess. She didn’t question it though, not yet... or the fact that Turin had disobeyed her command to return to them. Shadows from the very air itself moved to hide her in their black cloak and she vanished from sight to appear half a dozen or so rooftops away near a chimney. She stayed where she appeared, using those same shadow to hide herself from the two groups of guards below. She moved her hand as Turin zipped close. He saw it and landed.

“I said for you to come back to us. Now go get Phiros and bring him here, quickly!” She chided him in whispered draconic and watched him zip off. Her attention went back to those below her. One group was on the right, two standing outside the door while at least three others were inside the building. They would be out soon enough though.

To the left was a smaller group, three who looked closer to soldiers then the normal guards. They wore the same colors even though they were on horseback. Each had leather armor with metal studs in it, a shield on the horse’s left side with a sward at their side. A bow and arrows were also attached to the saddle, opposite the shield and a bit behind them. She didn’t like that. They had been passing by on the cross street and were now turning down the road below her. No doubt heading to aid the other guards.

Turin zipped up to Phiros, circled around his head once, and spoke to him telepathically. 'She wants you to come quickly. I found them. Hurry up!' He didn't even wait for Phiros, but zipped back toward AD, then turned about and zipped back to him once more. "I said hurry.' he then repeated the pattern, coming back to tell him to move faster and to hurry until he would reach the same roof AD was hidden on.

Phiros raised his head, sending his gaze Aether's way as her words reached his ears. She was right. He was dragging his feet. Almost like a near dead horse. What was he thinking? He knew they were being pursued and yet he still did such a foolish act. Perhaps his feelings for Aether were clouding his judgement, or perhaps he just wasn't one for stealth. Either way, he was making quite the racket... after all, his footwear wasn't exactly light. Ah, she's right. he rolled his eyes at his own foolishness, his head shaking in disbelief of his own actions. He then repaid his gaze to Aether, who was now peeking over the edge. Her gaze was set upon a small group of guards who stood motionless on the street's cold surface. Phiros inched his way to Aether, he too taking a look at the guards below. "Wretched...creatures." he scoffed, looking away from the guards now, in disgust. He hated these guards. He hated what they stood for, what they believed in... everything about them. The only thing that was keeping him from going down there and killing those despicable humans was Aether. Aether.... where was she?

He looked around the rooftop. He even went as far as to look down at the streets again. She wasn't there. What the hell? She was just-- then the sound of small, fluttering wings would be heard from afar. Not two buildings away Aether's little dragon pal was making it's way toward Phiros.... and within a matter of seconds, it arrived. Not only that, it spoke to Phiros. Not verbally, but mentally. Something Phiros found to be quite cool. "She wants you to come quickly. I found them. Hurry up!" said the troublesome little beast. Then after that, it had the nerve to rush Phiros, "I said hurry!" it said again, with a tone of frustration this time. Phiros didn't like the dragon's tone... but he wasn't about to make a big deal about it, after all it was only a small dragon... nothing threatening about it.
The dragon shot through the air like a bullet, almost like a little humming bird. Phiros widened his eyes in surprise. It was quite the fast little cretin....

Alright. I cannot reveal my wings... I have to use something else... something more... stealthy. Heh heh... and I know just the thing. with a slight laugh and a maniacal grin, Phiros brought forth the power of teleportation. The power of Blink.
With a single blink of the eye, Phiros found himself three rooftops away. He watched as the small dragon made it's way past him, headed for another rooftop just across the street. Phiros wondered where Aether could have been. So he quickly scanned the rooftops that the small dragon was flying toward, trying to see if he could make out Aether Draka's silhouette. It was no use. It was just too dark, so all he could do was follow the small dragon. And so, he activated his new ability to teleport yet again....

Finally the two arrived at their target. This rooftop was much wider than the previous one, and was closer to some rather inviting soldiers down at the street. Aether was seen near the edge of the rooftop, looking down at the soldiers. Phiros tread softly toward her, resting his claw-like hands on her shoulder, letting her know he had arrived. Quietly, he whispered to her as he too sent his gaze downward... at the soldiers, "So they are after us... foolish mortals. Perhaps we should just go down there and end it now... seeing them thinking so highly of themselves... it's making me uneasy and hungry." Phiros' words were vile, but it was who he was. He couldn't help it. All he could do now though, was await Aether's reply.

Turin arrived first, zipping to his favorite hiding spot, on the back of her neck just under her hair. 'Why is he here anyways? He will only slow us down...'
"Because you are with me, not the other way around. I am with him, you are with me. Got it?" AD hissed back at the fly dragon's words in hushed draconic. She was getting a bit annoyed by that sort of attitude.
'Sorry. I don't think I like him though.' Turin sulked to her silently before falling into true silence as Lord Phiros arrived.

Hearing his approach, and his words, she quickly placed her hand over his where he had set it upon her shoulder. She didn't want him rushing blindly forward. Demons did that all too often and that made them easy to kill. Some sort of plan was needed, just in case... She didn't want another friend of hers to die on her. She had to be strong enough to protect her friends from those who wished them harm. Most were ignorant and they deserved to die just as much as those who attacked knowingly.

"One moment, it may still be a trap. We don't know how many are in the house and look at what they have done. All they are really carrying is a blade. The horses carry the rest. If we separate man from beast they will be less prepared to fight and perhaps even inclined to follow the horses..." AD paused, trying to remember what horses were truly afraid of. Dragons of course, but dragons were big. She needed something smaller... Gryphons! "I have an idea, one moment, I need to concentrate..."

She let her knees fall to the rooftop from where she had been crouching. AD let her hands fall on her lap and she bent her head and closed her eyes. She had seen Gryphons before, but she had to think about them. Then, from the night sky came a screech and the shadows formed into a pair of diving Gryphons. Both were pure black creatures and the horses below were their pray... Both were also nothing more then shadow illusions, conjured from her mind and set on what she remembered of the streets. She hadn't waisted the spell sanctuary for this though, as was her normal custom. She didn't feel the need with Phiros right there. That would have been quite a complement if he had known about it, but he couldn't know what she normally did.

She heard a noise below, shouting and orders to shoot. Her eyes flew open as the solder-like men tried to control their beasts. They were doing too well at it for her liking, so she cast fear on the lead horse. It reared up and the bow in the man's hand never even got an arrow before the man fell off the frightened beast's back and it took off into the night with arrows on one side of it's now vacant saddle and the shield on the other. The other two horses danced around in panic, one lept sideways, knocking it's rider off balance so when it turned about to follow that rider landed in the street in a heap. The third horse simply ran, the rider's leg caught between the shield and saddle. She had the illusions follow for a bit before letting them go back to being shadows. More noise, she had drawn the attention of the guards down the street. They were rushing toward the spot where two of the three horsemen had fallen. She counted at least six, seven, eight... no, more were staying at the house. Was that a house? What if it was a berricks or something? Would that be a problem?

AD stood up then, looking back at Phiros with a grin. "Now it's our trap." She motioned for it to be his turn. She wondered what he would do. She knew very little of his fighting style and if you were to fight with and protect someone, you have to learn them. She was making it her job to quite literally watch his back. He had helped her so she felt he deserved it. He was her friend after all.

Phiros was tempted to dive down to the streets and deliver inevitible death upon all those humans, however Aether's words would cause him to halt all thoughts of movement. She stated how the current situation could have been a trap and how poorly equipped they were. They all had swords, located at their waists; the blade itself resting calmly within their sheathes, awaiting the chance to spill blood, awaiting the chance to execute their prey. The weapons they had on their horses did not threaten Phiros. He felt his speed far surpassed the reflexes of any race that inhabited the mortal plain, in this case, these pathetic excuse for soldiers... humans. Their bows will be rendered useless when I'm coming at them. They'll know that soon enough! Phiros glared through the night, sending his piercing stare toward the now large bunch of soldiers. He wanted to kill them all. He didn't want to wait, he wanted to charge at them mercilessly and without hesitation.... but he couldn't, Aether Draka.... what she said.... he felt the same way. It was all too easy. All of them standing there like that, practically waiting to be killed. So what was it? Were they waiting for Phiros and Aether to strike first? Or were they simply as stupid as Phiros thought? Phiros couldn't quite put his finger on it.... so he averted his gaze and rested it upon Aether's form. What the hell was she doing?

"I have an idea, one moment, I need to concentrate..." said she, taking to a kneeling position. She was quiet for a moment.... but then an erie sound would fill the atmosphere. It was the roar of a...Gryphon!? Just there, two shadow looking Gryphons whipped through the air and through the streets. Their target was not the soldiers, rather, their way of travel, their temporary weapons storage unit.... their horses. It was all so entertaining. The Gryphons roared ferociously as the horses screamed and pranced about in a frightening manner. Soon though, the horses would all flee, into the darkness of the alleyways. The soldiers were left without their precious cargo, their precious weapons.... not that they would have helped anyway.

Phiros laughed aloud, the sound was that of an erie beast. There was no doubt in Phiros' mind that the soldiers below could hear his hellish laughter. In fact, he counted on them hearing it. He wanted them to hear it, for it was a sound that symbolized their coming to an end... their liboration was close at hand... and Phiros was the one to cast judgement upon them... them and their weak hearts, their weak bodies.... their weak spirits.
"Now it's our trap." stated Aether with a slick grin. She was a devilish one. Phiros liked that. She did things her way, and no one elses. That was something Phiros respected, one of the few things he respected. With a slick grin of his own, Phiros spoke, "And our rules." he exclaimed, raising his right hand. His fingers sharpened into talons and his eyes flashed red with bloodlust. With his other hand he revealed his sharpened staff. It was already fully charged, and ready to unleash its energy upon all foes. Quickly, he also revealed his massive wings. His eyes continuously flashed red with each second that passed. His stare was locked upon the group of soldiers now, he was in battle mode. As far as he was concerned, these soldiers stood between him and his freedom, and he wasn't about to let some imbeciles take the only thing he had away from him. No... that wasn't an option, not at all. Not in this life time... and not in the next. Never would Phiros bend to anyone's will.... never would he fall to another's power... never!

"Eeerrraaaauughhhhhh!!" roared Phiros. It was an intimidating scream, indeed. However Phiros didn't stop at that, his intensions were to kill every last one of these soldiers... ofcourse, he would let Aether have her fun as well.
He darted for the streets, his wings fully expanded, allowing him to glide down the air's currents as easily as a boat floated down a stream. He didn't bother to land though, he had other plans. And so, Phiros hovered above the soldiers heads, his talons extended and aiming for a certain spot... the necks.

He shredded through the weak skin easily as he made his way to the hind of the group. Three soldiers fell victim to his attack. All of them had their heads separated from their necks, from their shoulders, from their entire bodies. They were now headless. That meant they were useless.... that they were dead. It was only a matter of time before the others met the same fate... but how? Phiros still had his fully charged staff, and he still had his wings, which he used as a weapon quite often. Whatever the next move was, it meant death for these soldiers.

OOC - haha sorry... I wanted to do more killing, but I thought I was getting ahead of myself, so I stopped, haha. GO!

Phiros was clearly one for acting first and she was glad she had spoken when she had. She wasn't about to hold him back though and let him draw the attention on all the guards with his challenge and attack. She grinned, almost laughing at him. It was fun to watch. It served the foolish guards right. They may have looked like real soldiers but they weren't. They couldn't even control their own horses. At least the time she had gone to the Village of Kellen the horses were trained to fight. Those were some real warriors, but she had been killing them, both rider and beast, in order to try and create Centaurs. Only a month or so later she then met a centaur. The two events really had no relationship to each other, but in her mind, it had worked. She had been able to cause a Centaur to be born from the joined soul of a great warrior and his mount. When both died in battle a Centaur was born... the story that old man had told her had been true after all.

She drew her attention back to the fight rather quickly, not about to let her guard down. She dropped off the rooftop and made her way around the edge of the street until she was behind the majority of them. 'Time to move out of the way or die.' She thought to herself and pulled out her blade. Her simple dagger was in her left hand, the blade running along the length of her upper arm, from wrist to off her elbow. She struck with a sharp downward stroke to the back of the nearest guard's neck. The blade sheathed itself in the man's spine, then slipped out as he fell. The nearest guard turned on her and she managed to block the blow as a sward was drawn on her. She jumped back and nearly hit the wall. She pushed off it unconsciously and her dagger rang out as it struck the wall. Many eyes turned on her now too, though most were now blocking the street. She wiped her dagger's blade clean and sheathed it to pull out a larger blade. She held the two-bladed sward level before her.

“Turin, are you ready?” She asked the tiny fly dragon, not speaking in Draconic this time, though she didn't realize it. 'Always.' Turin replayed and she felt him shift so that his long neck peered over her slightly pointed ear.

“You might want to be a bit louder then your friend, Turin over there.” One guard laughed at her, mistaking the fly dragon's name for Phiros's. That same guard then pulled out a loaded crossbow and leveled it at Phiros's wings...

“Turin!” AD commanded and the fly dragon zipped out and blew his breath weapon right at the crossbow. A magic missile struck the crossbow at point blank range, causing it to burst into flames and misfire. Shot too high, what was left of the bolt flew high in the air like a tiny spark of light.

Phiros stood in a strong, firm guard. His wings wrapped themselves around his body, the spiked ends of both the wings would act as swords; slashing and stabbing any 'soldier' who foolishly came within ten feet of him. His staff was being gripped as if for dear life. The sharpened tip of the staff being waved about in a provokitive manner. The black talons of the Winged Demon scratched upon the surface of the staff. It signified to the humans that this Half-Fiend was angry, and wanting blood this night. Their blood, their soul. Yes... Phiros truly thought that by daybreak, the still beating hearts of each and every one of these inferior beings would be pulsing within his grasp. Their fresh crimson blood dripping down his arm...

Aether Draka's next move would come as a surprise to Phiros. She acted fast and wise, her attacks were organized and clean, as if it were all layed out before it even began. She darted around the humans like they were stationary the entire time. She was showing Phiros that she was someone to be reckoned with.... someone who should not be taken likely, not at all. Aether Draka... I am impressed. You were hiding your skill in the last fight, weren't you? Heh heh... Phiros lifted his sharp, wicked lips, forming a malicious smile upon his face.
Just then, an uneasy feeling overcame Phiros. Something was wrong. As a result, he leered from the left to the right, looking at every single guard that awaited their death. One of these guards had a crossbow, and it was aiming right for his very own form. In particular, his right wing. Depending on where the arrow hit, the damage done could be life threatening. If the guard was inexperienced in fighting Demons, and he most likely was, then the damage done wouldn't be very threatening, in fact, the damage done could be so minor that it wouldn't even need acknowledgement. However, no attack would be made thanks to the fast thinking of Aether Draka and her little dragon pal, Turin.

The archer's crossbow was hit with a magic missile, sent by the small shadow dragon. The crossbow snapped in a mere instant, and fell to the ground in fragments. The archer, or rather the guard, then sent an intimidating stare Aether's way. Intimidating to maybe other humans.... but to Aether... his stare would most definately be looked at as if it were a joke. Atleast, that was what Phiros thought.
Even though Phiros felt Aether could take the guard easily, he felt it was neccassary for him to take the life of that guard... after all, he did try and take his life. A foolish act on the human's part.
As a result, the eyes of Phiros flashed red with anger and sick intentions. As the guard drew his short sword, Phiros darted for the man... his right wing extended out toward him. The edge of his wing then pierced his weak armor, right through his chest. A portion of his wing dissappeared inside of the man, only to reappear on the other side, covered in blood. Seeing their comrade in pain, the remaining guards bunched together in a solid formation and charged Phiros, their swords held out and waiting for the flesh of the Half-Fiend. However, in their eyes.... Phiros was a Demon... and they didn't much like Demons....

Phiros immediately rested his gaze upon every single guard, still, his eyes flashing red with thoughts of death filling his already twisted mind. "Yes! Come! Come at me! With all you got! Hahahahahaha!!" he laughed a great, terrible laugh. One of insanity, one of cruelty and pain.....

Like when ever she had decided to fight along others bigger and more powerful then herself, she was finding the attention being drawn away from herself. That was normal, it always seemed to work that way, and she let it. She left Turin to do as he wished, knowing that the tiny creature would not leave her and would come to her aid if she should be injured. Heads turned to face Phiros, and so she took the opportunity to take the next life after Phiros took the opportunity to kill the man who had tried to kill him.

‘Rightly deserved.’ She thought to herself before slicing through the side of the nearest man. A blade made its way toward her and she dodged low and removed the ankles of her attacker. She was interrupting their formation, their line of attack, but only at one end. She pulled back into the shadows then, about to move to the other side as the shadows hid her from view completely.

She paused then, watching Phiros for a moment, then turning her gaze to the rest of them. Where there more of the guards now? They had killed some, their bodies still littered the streets… but there were more. When had they shown up? Where had they come from? She noticed a window with someone peering out of it. Were they hiding in the buildings, waiting? Did they have a way to bring back their dead and so that was why they were sacrificing them like this?

Her thoughts turned back to the idea Phiros had planted there, that this was a trap. She had no way of knowing if it was true or not, but she still believed him. Anger flashed across her eyes. Hide in the buildings will you?! I’ll get you out here to fight fair!!

She shadow-jumped back to the rooftop they had been on and she ran across the top and jumped to the next roof over. There she skid to a halt and pulled out a bone handled dagger. She used it to draw one of the few spells she knew on the roof itself. She paused to look it over and was about to cast it when the sound of horse shoes ringing on the streets brought her attention back to the streets below.
