| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Aether Draka didn’t answer right away, she didn’t care if Lynthaer had killed someone. This was just a mortal life. It was the measure of the soul that was important. Everyone died and made no difference to her how or why, this was part of a never ending war and in the end, they would all be dead, so what did it matter if someone Gregory cared about, this “parent-figure”, died. So now he would try and kill her friend, someone who was remaining her friend despite the fact that he did know about her mixed blood, over the fact that Lynthaer had killed this “parent-figure”, this “Daddy dearest”. So Lynthaer had gotten his revenge to the father who rejected him, killing just because someone killed was no good reason, none. You kill for a reason, a real reason. She stayed where she was, for now, and called out her reply to the part-celestial. “Then I don’t accept any apology, not if you will act the same. Your words mean nothing. I mean what I say though, and at least you had your ‘parent-figure’. Why should I care?” She still felt a bitter sting of growing hatred toward him, how dare he do this, how dare he… She felt the whisper of a thought in her mind then and unconsciously gripped the ring that hung around her neck. It was cold, as cold as ice. Her jaw line set and her eyes flashed in anger. Still and once more silent… until Gregory did what she told him not to, she would wait. If Lynthaer was hurt though, she would defend her friend against this... want to be angel. He was no friend of hers, not any more. She didn’t need him, or any of the celestials for that matter. She hated the fact that they had abandoned her all on her own, tossing her to the dogs in this War between Good and Evil… it wasn’t between Good and Evil though, just between those part celestial and those part demonic, with the Angels and Demons showing up only to escalate the problem more. She hated the War more though, as they would not have abandoned her if they hadn’t felt they had something better to do, something ‘evil’ to fight. Her anger was solidifying inside her, the mix of emotions settling on anger… and resentment. She locked her gaze on Gregory, waiting for her cue. |

lynthaer was smiling oddly wide now. He could feel the Madness creeping out, oh how it wanted to be out now. Lynthaer, however, wanted to know a few things first. That, and to bring this man's ideas of his family to the ground. "So. What I know of your family?" he questioned back at Gregory. "Oh, I know a bit about your humble abode. Probably not as much as you of course, but I know darker things." Lynthaer's undertones were coming out now, once more delivering the disturbing sounds of many voices coming from one mouth. "I know that you are not the first born, for one." Lynthaer started to chuckle now as he began to slowly, very slowly, submit to the madness. "I know that your father was a cold man, distant from his children. Well, perhaps not so distant with you, but the other." Lynthaer's old hate began to spring up from deep wells. His first hate, the one that had driven him this far. The hate, and pain, of rejectin. Lynthaer suddenly tood up as tall as he could in his elven form, eyes blazing suddenly. "I know about the small house for from the grounds of his manor. I know where one of his favorite dogs is buried, the exact spot. I know that it was burned. I know the reason he always looked as if he had a secret regret. I know him." Lynthaer coulnd't contain himself anymore. All of his hate, anger, pain, anything he had felt came out. The rejection of Ranewen, his drowning in the pool, everything. The madness shouted with twisted joy suddenly, and Lynthaer screamed it out loud, his head thrown back. Lynthaer's now double controlled head swiveled back to Faust. In the back of his mind, he invited even Shlarthæran to join him. All three of Lynthaer's inner entities spoke as one. "We are the reason for his pain, as he is the reason for ours. You had a fother figure. You had a Daddy. Our Daddy. We are the first born, oh little brother." Lynthaer started laughing. "Born of spite from the demons who hated his relations with and Angel. " Lynthaer began to ready himself now. He had never wanted blood to flow so baddly as now. "And, you get to join your daddy dearest." Turning to Ad for only a moment, he spoke once more to her. "Aether, darling. It would be wise to stay out of our way. We three are not in a mood to kill you at the moment, and i doubt if i would be able to stop from killing you if you joined in." He turned back to Faust and waited for his signal. |

Gregory took the scenario in strides. His mind calculated each action he could take in the next few moments and decided on an outcome favourable or not, all within a few minutes. He had decided on a course of action that, although it may not be favourable, he wished it so. The first comment the demon made demanded attention. Not the first born? As far as Gregory knew, he was the only born. His next was something Gregory found rang painfully true, and quite unbeknownst. He had suffered in such a way, always seeing his father as a cold, uncaring teacher, but such a thing was never revealed in public, for in public they were father and son. The next words were an onslaught this man knew too much. Too much to be a member, and in mention of the house believed to be cursed and locked never to be opened, he realized he knew too much to be anyone but a member of the hierarchy. Gregory had always assumed that the regret was aimed at himself for when he committed an act unfavourable by his father. After an insanity-driven scream, the demon spewed on more line that just would not suit Gregory well at all. "Shut your gaping maw, demon." His head rose from its slouched depression, and his eyes burned with a dangerous new look. A look of sheer murder, and one would almost say, Insanity. "Aether Draka, should you intervene I will be forced to fetch Glaive, and should I be forced to fetch Glaive I will be drained of much energy and quite a bit weaker. Should you join in the fight I swear to all ears who listen, that I will fight furiously to my death, and I will not be dying alone, I assure you." His anger burned, and his fingers plead for him to touch Ankriel's stone, but he would not. Ankriel's stone took far too long to be activated. "Demon. For some reason I do not doubt your words. But I guarantee that no man of the same blood shall fall with their father, at least not in this chapel." How could such a secret be hidden from him! How could the people he loved hide a demonic birthing from him and forsake even the child's memory! His parents were becoming all too normal to his eyes, being lowered from their pedestal of right and wrong. Even his mother. "I will kill you, I will kill any who dare stop me," His eyes pointedly shot at AD for no more than a moment, "And once I am done killing you I shall erase the very memory of your existence, and you shall never be known to have ever been. Oh how I wish I could bestow upon you a torturous demise, but in this situation none could be afforded." "Come at me. Come at me with all you have demon. For I shall have your black quivering spine adorn the threshold of my home!" He planted his feet firmly spread and blazed his holy aura. No death would be fitting for this demon, not even if done one thousand times. |

At Lynthaer’s words, at the sound of his many voices she felt her anger cool slightly and a question came to mind, one she knew would have to wait. A third? Lynthaer had said three of them. One had to be the demon and she knew of no way to get rid of that monster and no wish to harm her friend by trying. So one was Lynthaer himself, one was the demon, but who was the last one? Had she met theat one before? She didn’t think so, but wasn’t sure. She hated the demon though and was sure that it might try to kill her just because it could. She nodded, understanding that he was not alone in this fight. She would wait then, even though she didn’t want them to fight, she would wait. The thought to pray crossed her mind, but she banished it. She had done such things to aid Raven when he had wished for her to stay back also, but that would only help Gregory and not Lynthaer at all. When Gregory said her name her head snapped up. She had forgotten to recast her sanctuary after it had started to fade. She noticed it was gone now and hoped that the part celestial was too focused on Lynthaer to notice. Such things had saved her before. She called on it again and felt it wrap around her once more. Maintaining it could become a problem… hiding might serve better. Not yet though, not yet. AD focused once more on the battle, a slight smile touching her lips. Let Gregory think what he wants to, she had fought alongside angels, full angels, and knew what to do about it. With her new found power though… she could put other creatures into the fight and not have to heed either threat. Confident that she would be fine, she waited still, not caring about time. Raven said she had time and even though she had no idea how long it had been since she had seen him she was sure there was still some time left for her. Death was never the end. Edit:((OOC: Faust (and probably Lynth ), she is going to keep using the spell as long as she thinks you will try and kill her. Stop talking and worrying about what AD will or will not do, and get on with kill each other already! AD can think what ever she wants and you don't know what she is thinking in character or even her motives because she had Chaotic Mind from Shadowdancer... don't make me send you warnings about power playing, as what both of you have said the last two posts regarding AD could count as that. So here is what is really happening with her, besides what she thinks: First, she doesn't have enough magic or enough control over it to really do much. She has been using it all morning already, in small amounts. Second, even though she doesn't sleep, AD has to eat in order to live and even more to use magic. She hasn't eaten today and will be forced to heed her Hunger as soon as her 'sugar levels' drop. She isn't there (mentally) when her Hunger takes over and she knows it. How many times do I have to say stop worrying about AD? She had lots of big ideas and even some bad misconceptions, like the fact she doesn't think of the Shadowdancer things as magic, and that Lynth isn't really evil, and killing is alright.... I started her on Imy as misled, now she's disillusioned. Let her be already. I play her as confused most of the time! I will delete this before my next post. I'm done ranting, carry on.))

Lynthaer, Shlarthæran, and the madness could not help themselves. At Gregory's response, the burst out in mad laughter. Oh, how they loved this man's spirit. How they wantd to devour him and destroy the entire Faust family. Lynthaer no longer thought of himself as part of the family. He had fashoined his own name. Gregory's attitude made the whole thing sweeter. Lynthaer's desire for power, his lust for bood, all would be chanelled at his newly found brother. "You fool,' he laughed. "You think I fear death?! Already I have died once!" They grinned, baring their fangs, the mark of the vampire. "Bring your threats and let us put them to the test. I want you to try and vanquish me. I, who also share the acursed blood of our father. Let us see if you can bring your trophy to the ground." The trio reached to Lynth's left sleave and tore it away, exposing the length of chain that was bound to it. Along that arm as well lie the mark of Lynthaer's demonic bonding. This was Shlarthæran's weapon. Lynthaer readied his scythe, his mark in this battle. The fire belonged to the Madness, which raged as the flames. "Let us see who's spine adornes whos wall. My black one, or yours, a simple strand of lawfullness, born from a week father. Let us see angel!" they roared, and without a thought, they launched themselves at Faust as one. The scythe led, swepping in an overly dramatized attack. His chained arm and fist were waiting for Faust to block so that they could strike. |
