| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Name: Yamarle Chandros Race:: Human from the Kellen village Class: Warrior Alignment: Lawful good Element: Earth Secondary Element: Lightning Weapon: Two Handed Sword Item: Cloak Spell: Find Familiar Hair: A straw blonde color, that draped down past his shoulders, but from the front, fell short of covering his useless, glassy eyes, instead landing right on top of Yamarle's sightless orbs. Sprigs of this blonde hair usually stuck out from his head, giving itself a ratty, messy appearance, for it refused to stay in the position it was put. Eyes: Yamarle Chandros has two eyes, both a deep shade of baby blue, though its slightly difficult to determine their true colors. Yamarle's eyes appear to be coated with a glassy, glazed look, which not only disturbs their looks, but completely eliminates their use. Yamarle is completely blind, and cannot see from his eyes at all. He must trust his other senses, and knowledge of his home, the open plain he lived on and worked for years, to maneuver safely. Once he travels out away from his home, he will be lost, and trust his instincts, to keep him from running into people or things that could hurt him, or worse. Physical Description: Yamarle had spent his life in the same environment, almost all of his life. He had a set routine, and was set in his ways. He would awaken early each morning, and put on the same pair of brown, tattered, cloth pants, and a brown cloth shirt. He would guide his way to the breakfast table clutching a stick that he used to guide his path, to ensure he ran into nothing, and then would eat his breakfast. He would then head into the plains on which he lived and worked, and begin to till and work the land, running the same terrain every day. This daily work gave him his figure, the rippling muscled, broad shouldered frame that was his body. He was fairly tall for a human, but not lanky, his body was filled out with meat and muscle, forming his large powerful frame. His skin had developed a dark tan from years of working under the sun, burning through his skin evenly, pulling off a tan, almost beige appearance. His hair was the color of the straw with which he worked, sprouting messily from his head, working its way backward, hanging down to his shoulder blades. Although most of it ran backwards down his neck, some of his hair tangled itself elsewhere on his head, always giving him a messy appearance. His clothes were always hanging from his frame, revealing bits and pieces of his tanned stomach and legs, from the holes in the tattered brown cloth that made his outfit. His sightless orbs that are commonly called eyes were a baby blue, that looked almost completely white, though a faded, foggy version. This came from a birth defect when Yamarle was a newborn child, his eyes never worked. He usually keeps them closed, for they did him no good open, all he ever saw was eternal darkness. Equipment Description: Along with the tattered, cloth clothing that he had worn for years, Yamarle received an article of clothing as a gift when he prepared to leave his home and travel, a dangerous decision for a blind man. He was given a simple, yet new, brown cloak to accompany him, and keep him warm when the weather became less than desirable. He carried with him, a simple stick, that he used as a guiding pole, to ensure he didn't run into trees, or buildings, or pratfalls in the earth. And even a blind man needs a means of defending himself. Yamarle had been trained by his father to fight without seeing, and had used the same weapon for many years, even using it at a time that it was much to large for him to wield properly. This weapon is a large two handed sword, that with years of practice and working out on the farm, Yamarle had built up the ability to handle, and swing well, without problem. Skills: Concentration: After years of practice and work, Yamarle had finally been able to focus his mind completely to the task at hand. In all actuality, he had an advantage, without sight, he would see nothing that would catch his attention and distract him. So in battle, or anything else, he was able to focus well, without distracting himself, to open up crucial opportunities, for someone else. Tumble On his free time, Yamarle Chandros would work on his athletic ability, and flexibility, going to an open, soft patch on the plains, and work on flips and tumbles, to keep himself in shape, moreso than working the fields would do. He wanted to do all that he could, so that his disability of being blind wouldn't hold him back anymore. Feats: Blind Fight Yamarle, being born blind, wasn't about to be left defensless. His father worked with him repeatedly, teaching how to wield the bulky two handed sword that Yamarle had grown so accustomed to using. With his eyesight depleted, Yamarle's other senses grew. He could hear the sounds of his opponent's footsteps as they crossed, and darted away. Upon focusing, Yamarle Chandros could also make out the sounds of an arrow, or a sword piercing through the air, coming at him. Learning to use his other senses gave the blind man the ability to fight as if he had eyes, to locate his enemy, and even protect himself from their attacks. Flaws: Blindness Yamarle was born like any other baby, in the traditional way of a human farming family in the region. Born at the home, birthed by the father, no real need to travel to see the village doctor. Yamarle came out, looking like almost any other baby. Two legs, two arms, a head with a few sprigs of curly blonde hair, two eyes, all the necessary parts of a bouncing baby boy. The only problem, was that Yamarle could not see out of those two, hazy blue eyes. A birth defect gave his eyes a very glassed over look, and taking away all forms of vision for Yamarle. The young baby grew up into a young man, always suffering from his condition, but always fighting through it, with the support of his family, his parents and siblings always helping him out, adjust to being blind. He learned how to work the farm without vision, among other things to help him survive. |
