Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

With a thick clay cup in hand, Gir sat at the back end of the dimly-lit, crowded tavern alone. He would have preferred to have someone to share some stories and a drink or two with, but being alone was not all bad tonight. In truth this was his first time in a tavern not owned by dwarves, and he was rather enjoying the unusually peaceful atmosphere. After a few more minutes without company, Gir drained the remains of his generous sized mug, and collected his mace from the table.

slightly wetting the tip of his index finger and thumb he casually swiped his hand about, pinching out the multiple candles the bar maid had strewn over the table. More than a few eyes glanced Gir's way due to the sudden light decline, more even as he rose to reveal his massive nine foot frame. Slowly he made his way over to the bar, ducking the occasional low hanging curtain and weaving in between a tipsy patron. Gir sat at the front bar and ordered another mug. Taking a generous taste of his new drink, Gir didn't notice the stool next to him slide closer.

Savarkael walked towards the tavern9of course is human form), wearing the cloak up, not wanted many to see her face, but then she considered, what was the point? She has never really been here for long, at least she can't really remembered if she has ever been here. But still she decided to wear her hood. Her backpack was slung over her shoulders, and her friend the fly dragon was riding inside of it, so she had to be careful about how she moved her bag, but then again Sava never really cared, the fly dragon took care of its self. She went through the door, into the tavern, and sighed. Another tavern. What would happen here? The room was filled with the smell of wine, and ale, and food, also smoke. She shivered, almost afraid to find out what is going to happen here.

She walked towards the bar, and pulled it closer, away from anyone else, though she looked at the man, who seemed to be giant. She shrugged. It was better then to be sitting next to a bunch of idiot drunks, and she discovered that she hates all drunks. She looked up as she sat down and ordered red wine, and when it came to her, she took a sip, and let it go down her throat. She pulled her cloak closer around her, she was cold, but she would rarely say so, she doesn't like to complain, but she is sometimes found doing so. She looked back at the giant like man, and wondered. Would she dare say something to a man like that, and possibly get crashed. But then again, if he tried, she would change into a dragon. "Hello." She said to the large man.

Gir didn't answer right away, barely even acknowledged the fact somebody had spoken. The idea that she was talking to the half-giant hadn't even crossed his mind, until he noticed she was looking at him. With a hint of embarrassment showing in his eyes, he turned fully to regard the woman. She was a deal shorter than gir, so he had to look down to make up the difference. Being raised by the four foot high dwarves his whole life, had made compensating the differences in height almost an instinct. That's when he noticed her eyes, a deeper green than the big man ever seen among his adoptive dwarven kin, and occasionally specked with black.

Suddenly feeling embarrassed again, he cleared his throat as suddle as he could.
"good evenin'...i hope i didn't offend ye' , staring like i did."
Then noticing his giant mace was still beside him on the bar, he attached it to his hip, as not to look threatening or barbaric.
"and i'm sorry for lookin' so surprised, i haven't seen many eyes like yours." As soon as the words exited his mouth, he brought up the mug for another generous sip of his ale.

She smiled when he finally acknowledged her, but when he just stared at her, her eyes crossed for a moment, but when he spoke, her smiled returned. She slipped her bag off her shoulders tiredly, and she took a sip of her wine. "Do not worry, I am not offended." She said, very calmly, and she looked away and into her cup of wine. She listened as he said something about her eyes, and a grin came to her face, as she looked at her reflection in the red wine. She thought for a moment, as to how to respond to what he said, though it would be easy, but he was a giant man, or half, and it made her slightly nervous, but he seemed nice, and didn't seem like one who would bash her head in the ground.

"Not many do have eyes like mine, in fact... I don't think anyone has." She said, glancing up at the man, then she reached up and took of her hood, and her black and green long hair showed. She sighed, and she glanced around the tavern. Thank the gods, no one knows who I am, she thought, closing her eyes for a moment, then opening them again, and thought for a moment. "I have never seen... a giant, before, well the year I have been in Imythess, I'm wondering, why is there one now?" She said calmly, like usual, though a hint of curiosity in her voice.

Gir thought hard about her question. In truth this half-giant knew very little of his blood, lesser more about his blood's history. In turn, he barely considered himself giantkin, or a piece in there brutal heritage. For the last twenty years, Gir had been raised and lived among the proud dwarves. They took him in as their own, made the giant what he was today, Kin. In heart and soul Gir was a Dwarf. shaking his massive head rid of ill-thoughts, along with more than a few ale-induced cobwebs, He spoke the truth.
"I'm not knowin' alot about the giants, or knowin' why they do the things they do." Abruptly ending his sentence to take a long drink he desperatley needed, This certain topic always did this to him.

For the first time, Gir noticed she had the look of a traveler. With a heavy bag and a thick cloak snuggly hugging her shoulders, she emanated a aura of pure self-dependancy. This bothered him more than a little, he could not understand why such a small, exotic woman would risk the wilds unescorted. Replacing his smile which he wore earlier, he attempted to switch subjects.
"how about yerself" stopping momentarily to order another mug and a glass of red wine " what brings ye here, obviously so far from home?" Taking a taste of his drink, and slowly offering the wine he added.
"Tell me a story?"
