The sky was dark with clouds, and the wind seemed to be unnaturally high.. The streets of the city were bare and tons of debree was blowing past her. Trees bent in the wind, and it seemed as if a big storm was brewing. Then is when it happened; the rain started to pour and the wind battered every building with its force, rain beating against the roofs. One figure walked down the street, a long black cloak covering her and flapping back and fourth as she tried to pull a white horse toward the local inn. "Baby, please! Just relax! We're almost there!" A voice begged, a small fragile hand on the nose of the horse. The woman was trying to get her frightened horse to safety, but the horse kept trying to get away from her and seemed to be wild in fright. The woman tried to calm his emotions, but even that didn't help all that much.. The stallion was very stubborn and very afraid of the storm. Suddenly a big wind picked up and caught the cloak the woman had on and the cloak blew away down the street, leaving the woman nothing on but a simple black dress and some shoes. The soaked woman watched as the cloak blew away, whimpering slightly since now she was even more worse off than before. Suddenly, the lightning crackled and the horse bucked, running off down the road as the woman fell onto the ground and the horse galloped off. "Wait!" She yelled against the rain, quickly getting up. But, the horse was gone, and so was her possesions that she had strapped to the saddle of the horse. She stood there, stunned, as the wind blew her sticky hair into her blue grey eyes. She sighed, lightning crackling up ahead, and decided that she couldn't risk going after the horse. She would have to find shelter fast. She crossed her arms, shivering slightly as she headed towards the inn. She walked inside the inn, the warm air meeting her face. She pulled the door hard, pulling against the strong wind, before being able to shut it, and looked around at the inn with a sigh. What would she do now? She really had no idea, but she would have to figure that out after she warmed up a bit. She sat by the fire, squeezing the water out of the end of her dress hand hair. "Oh lord, what shall I do?" She murmered under her breath, pulling her knees to her bossom as she stared at the flames. "That storm is horrendus! I bet it's a typhoon.." She heard someone say, talking to someone else at a table. "I wouldn't be caught in it.." Kli glanced over at the table, sighing. "I hope he's going to be alright.." |

Xailich walked steadily up the stone path in the direction of The Green Gryphon, or at least he hoped so, the sign had pointed him that way. He hated storms, they always seemed to cause trouble, it was also another complaint that he added to the list of reasons he hated the Mortal Plane. Lightning flashed ahead of him and only seconds passed until the sounds of thunder echoed loudly, as if it were chasing the flash but could never catch it. Rain was thrown from the sky, making the journey to the inn harder and more tiresome; Xailich pulled the cloak around him to protect himself from the sting of the rain. Amazing how such a simple thing such as storm could strike with such obvious fury; he looked into the sky and rolled his eyes. Xailich was startled, not by the flash of lightning, but instead by the horse that barreled down the street headed directly for him. He quickly side-stepped, almost losing balance, then turned to watch the horse continue down the street. He would have gone after it, if it had been any other day, but the storm forced him to press on towards shelter. It was owned; he could tell because of the numerous items on the saddle he spotted as it passed. Still would have been nice to have, though, the thought of stealing it had already left his mind. Finally Xailich reached the inn and he forced the door open and slammed it shut loudly behind him. He stood there for a moment, surveying the scene and removing his cloak. He then spoke aloud to the bartender, “Red wine or such…” His eyes caught a man staring up at him, in awe of his height. Annoyance flooded Xailich and he glared and said, “What are you looking at?” The man turned quietly. Xailich sat at a booth near the fire and asked aloud, “Anybody loose a horse?” |

Kli gave a small sigh, pushing her damp hair away from her face before slowly standing up and walking to the bar. Looking towards the innkeeper, she sat down at one of the bar stools, taking a small bracelet from her pocket. "Sir, what can I get for this?" She asked, hugging her shoulders as she tried to keep her body warm. Sure, the inn was relatively normal, but being soaked, the air inside the inn bothered her skin and made her shiver. The innkeeper picked up the bracelet and examined it a bit before smiling. "Loose your money?" He asked, all knowingly, before pocketing the bracelet. "I'll exchange it for a meal, a blanket, and a nights' stay, but after tonight, you'll have to take care of it yourself.." He said with a smile, giving her a key and a blanket. "Just tell the waitress that it's on me.." He winked. "Thank you, sir.." She said, holding the blanket as she put the key into her pocket. Kli sighed softly, putting the warm blanket around her shoulders and leaning against the bar top slightly. Her hair fell towards the bar, a few strands obstructing her view as she glanced around the room. Her complection was pale, her lips almost blue, and her grey eyes seemed stormy as if she wasn't all the way there. She cringed slightly when she heard the door open and slammed shut, glancing at the door as a young man walked inside the inn. She watched him curiously for a few moments before wandering off into her own little world. A waitress walked up to her, asking her if she would like anything. "Can I have the special please? The innkeep said it was on him.." She whispered. "And may I have some tea with that?" She asked, sitting up slowly. "Uh... Sure.. Comming up..." The waitress said hesitantly, just noticing Kli's features that seemed to be frozen up. "Let me just tell the cook.." She twitched, shuffling away from her as if she was the black plague. Though, in fact, she didn't look so healthy anyway so it was possible. "Anyone here loose a horse?" Kli heard a male voice say, only to look around to see the man who had recently walked in. "Excuse me, sir, but have you found my horse??" She asked softly, sitting up a little more as if about to walk over. "Where is he? Or did you not catch him??" Her curiousity got the best of her, again, and the fact that she had nothing left kind of got to her. |

Xailich looked at the woman who spoke to him; he raised an eyebrow not surprised that she had lost the horse after seeing her, especially in this weather. The glass of wine was sat in front of him and he took his gaze of the woman and to the glass, thinking that he should at least answer her question before taking a drink, then returned his eyes to her. He thought for a moment then his grave, rough voice spoke, “I barely was able to get a good look at him before he almost barreled through me, much less catch it.” He took the glass and drank some of the wine, he didn’t wait for a response before he added, “It’s a nice horse, had a lot of stuff with it.” He looked her over and it became evident to him that it had to be her horse; she didn’t seem to have much of anything with her. Xailich had a bit of sympathy for her, it was a pretty bad storm and he could see how the horse would get startled in it; and how she could lose control of it. Xailich waited to see if she had anything to say about it, then again, he hadn’t been much help; all he told her was that the horse was on the loose, which she already knew, and that it was barreling anyone stupid enough to travel in the storm. He didn’t know anything about her horse, but generally, horses took care of themselves, or at least he kind of hoped. He took a long drink from the glass and looked out the window that he sat next to. A flash of lightning illuminated a dark dismal town before turning once again to almost complete darkness; thunder sounded, rattling the glasses and window in the pane. He turned back around and looked at the floor, he almost seemed to space out with the sound of heavy pelts of rain slamming against the roof. |

Kli's mood changed drastically when she heard the news, giving a heaving sigh before wiping her face off with the blanket and looking down slightly. "Sorry if he hurt you or anything.. He must've been terrified.." She explained. "I've never had him run off even when I was giving him calm emotions.." She said, laying her head on the table and putting her arms under her as she wondered about the horse. "Thanks.. I found him about a year or so ago.." She said softly. "And, yeah, I had him carry my things... I guess it wasn't a very good idea, huh?" She mumbled, her eyes slowly starting to turn to the normal blue grey as she watched the man. She studied him for a few moments, before looking towards the window and grasping at the back of her neck, right next to a small tatoo that was both burning and freezing. She shivered slightly, thinking of how there were so many people there, with many different types of alignments. But, which was the one that was aligned with evil? She could not tell.. The tatoo was still hurting her, but she would have to deal with it. "It's a bad storm, is it not?" She murmered, staring at the window as the wind blew and the lightning crackled. "Here you are ma'am, some tea and the special!" The waitress said, putting the food in front of her. "Thank you, miss.." Kli said simply, turning to the food and grabing the tea before drinking it down quickly to warm her up. She gave a small smile at the warmth, but shook it off. "It almost came out of nowhere.. I hope it goes away as fast as it came.." She continued before taking a bite of her bread. It was strange for most people to talk to a total stranger, but Kli seemed to like meeting new people. She figured she could take care of herself if anything happened to go wrong, but most of her friends told her that she shouldn't take too kindly to strangers unless you know them by association. There were a few people glancing at her occassionally, a few whispers, but she just glanced at the people, smiled, and they avoided the subject after that. She then went back to her food, hungry from a long journey. |

Xailich was brought back to reality as she spoke and he looked into her eyes, listening to what she said. The explanation was pretty obvious, there would be no reason for a horse to run from anyone or anything unless it was frightened or just a pain; he assumed, by it being an owned horse that it wasn’t a pain. But still he listened, it made logical sense; however, her leaving all of her possessions on the horse did not, but she also made that evident. Then again, it could make sense, the horse was carrying a lot, and he didn’t mean to make a quick judgment, but he didn’t think she could have carried all of it on her own. He watched her reach to the back of her neck and Xailich leaned back to see a small tattoo that her hand was next to. He didn’t think she noticed him looking but either way he stopped when she spoke again. The waitress set a ‘special’ in front of the woman and then walked away. Xailich watched the waitress and then muttered something and raised the wine glass that was now empty; she grabbed it and went off again. Xailich searched for words, a lot had been said and he wasn’t exactly what to add to it but he spoke anyways, “I hope your horse is ok, and as for storms, I hate storms, and not for the usual reasons that most people have.” He was hoping that might bring up a question, but then again, he probably wouldn’t answer it honestly. Xailich knew that storms annoyed him because they were natural phenomena, and all of that annoyed him. Nature, particularly because it was in the Mortal World annoyed him. He had no appreciation for the beauty of nature, much less the power and beauty of a storm. The newly filled glass of wine was set in front of him, he looked at it for a moment then drank some of it. “So pointless…” |

Kli looked to her plate which held a variety of different foods. The 'special' consisted of any leftovers they had lying around, starting with the oldest and going to the newest. The special was the cheapest meal there was because it wasn't always safe to eat the leftovers, and the fact that they would have to throw the food out after a certain period of time. This time, her plate consisted of a small portion of stew, stale bread, some salted pork, and a few slices of cheese. She sat upright, keeping her blanket over her to catch any stray food, and ate carefully. She picked out a few things that didn't look so good, and ate the rest as she listened to his words. She whiped her mouth with a hankerchief, glancing at him for a moment or two. "Thank you for your words.. I too hope he is fine.. I'm sure he'll come back and find me, but for now I guess I'll have to wait until the storm has past.." She said, smiling softly, taking a sip of her tea though there was only a small portion left in her glass. "Not in the usual way?" She asked, glancing at him with questioning eyes as she wondered what exactly he meant by it. "So, you don't like storms, not because of being stranded? Strange.." Chuckling softly as she took a peice of bread and ate it.. "Then, why exactly do you hate storms? Do you not like nature or something?" Kli said, now her curiosity getting the best of her. This was the one flaw that she seemed to really have.. She was extremely curious, and that got her into trouble at times. If she saw something strange, she would automatically walk right into danger without even a moments hesitation.. Sure, she could handle herself alright, but the fact that she can't help but investigate made it hard for her to stay out of trouble. "Pointless, eh?" She asked with a smirk. "They may seem pointless, but I'll tell you this, they can be useful to use during battles.. In fact, I've been thinking about going into that training.. To control storms.." She smiled, looking back to her food and starting to eat once again. |

Xailich shrugged, even though he was prepared to give an answer to her question. He just had to think about what he was going to tell her; he was a man of truth, but only when it benefited him or it was some profound statement or belief, not just a simple truth as in correct or false. Xailich knew many truths, and believed many things, mostly about the dead, death itself, and life after death. The dead know the truth, and the living search for it constantly, that was his motto; however, for him to be such a lively being, he never really searched for truth. He believed he had already discovered it, until many other ones walked his way. Xailich realized that he had been staring off into nothing for some time, his mind bouncing around about truths; he hated the way he thought, but that was just it, thoughts, nothing more. He looked down for a moment, still in the same trance, there had been an odd silence and the striking of lightning and roar of thunder brought him back to reality. He answered quickly after the violent awakening, “Nature is all too many times taken for granted; and all too many times it is taken for more than what it’s worth. I choose to say that I fall on the fence, I don’t hate it, but then again, I don’t worship it. Storms are just a side of nature that shows anger, I prefer the silence of nature; tranquility is beautiful.” The statement made sense enough to him, the druids of the world that believed nature was the greatest thing since the wheel were annoying, and those who denied that nature was an important aspect were too careless for him. He sipped at his wine and thought about his own words. ((OOC:I apologize for the delay)) |

Kli gave a small smile as she listened to his words, trying to figure him out as she finished her meal and drank the rest of her tea. She didn't mind silence at all, infact, sometimes she liked it.. But, she also liked the angry side of nature. It was strange to most, but she didn't care. "Tranquility? You sound like a bard or something.." She chuckled softly, before leaning against the bar slightly. "I can see why you would like the peaceful kind better.. To not make it over or under stated.. A good choice I'm guessing.. Because it's there, it is just there and you don't hate or love it.." She murmered, mostly to herself. The color was starting to come back to her skin, and the blue on her lips was all but gone. Her damp hair was no longer soaked, and you could start to see that her hair was a strange color of black and red streaks. Her blue grey eyes wandered off for a few moments before glancing back at the man one more time. "Oh, I am sorry, I have yet to even introduce myself.. It must've been kind of weird talking to a strange woman that you don't even know her name.. My name is Kli, and you are?" She asked, not mentioning her last name since he might have heard of Lorian. She then waited for his responce as she pushed some strings of hair from her eyes. Suddenly, though, a loud crash rang throughout the inn, and she looked towards the sound only to see that a tree had fallen and crashed into the window, sending peices of glass everywhere. A small cut had been made on her cheek from a peice of glass and a few drops of blood came oozing from it. She touched the cut before looking at her finger, wincing slightly as she saw the blood. Putting her hand over her cheek, she casted a healing spell and healed the small cut. Blood was still on her cheek, but the cut had healed as if it was never there, and the woman whiped the blood off with a small hankerchief that she carried from a patch of an old dress that was now ruined. "It seems that the storm isn't going to be getting any better any time soon.." She muttered, wind blowing into the room as a bunch of men pushed the tree out the window and started to board up the window so that the wind couldn't get in. A few people had cuts on their skin, but no one had anything serious, so she did not even try to heal them. |

Xailich raised an eyebrow; it would be the first time he had been called a bard though he was not unaccustomed to having been called something he was not. He didn’t take it as an insult, though some of his type might have. She was right, though he didn’t think she should get the wrong idea; he didn’t fall on the fence of everything, he was not a truly neutral person. Xailich enjoyed seeing chaos and destruction, of his own accord, not by something that he himself couldn’t control; explaining somewhat his dislike of storms. She introduced herself formally and Xailich thought for a moment as she asked for his name; he was in a predicament because he hated his own name. It sounded devilish in nature and if he gave her some abbreviation or some other alias she might take it as him not trusting her. Before he could speak, Xailich jumped and turned towards the window as the tree slammed into it, sending glass everywhere. He winced as glass cut his arms that he put in front of his face; he shook his head, shaking glass out of his hair. He muttered a curse under his breath, to both the window that he was sitting near and storms in general. He laughed, “That didn’t help my disposition towards storms…” Xailich looked up just as the cut from her face disappeared and she wiped the blood away. He turned his head to the side and decided it was rude to stare; he didn’t know anything about this woman, but he had made the assumption that she was just a regular human, with no major skills, much less cast spells. Xailich cursed himself inside of his thoughts; he hated the mind, it was so judgmental, naturally. “My name is…” He paused for a moment then sighed, “Xailich… are you okay?” It was a question that he knew the answer to but he would ask it anyways. He had decided to be honest with her; his wrong judgments caused this. Xailich sat down, at a different seat, away from the window, a bit closer to Kli; he looked at her and waited for her to answer. |

Kli sighed, brushing herself off and taking the blanket from her to shake all of the glass from it. Her fingerss became cut from the glass, but she ignored the small cuts and put the blanket over her once again as the innkeeper started to sweep up the glass all around them so that no one's feet were cut too bad from walking on the floor. She glanced to Xailich and chuckled softly at his comment, knowing that Nature could make or break someone depending on their experience with it. "I'm sure that it doesn't.. I'm sure a lot of the others are starting to feel that way towards storms.." She smiled softly, watching some people murmering amongst themselves. Every once in a while you could see them point towards the boarded window or look up to the ceiling as the branches of the trees would scrape against it, making a loud eerie sound throughout the small and quaint Inn. She then looked to his arm, noticing the glass had cut both of his arms. "Your arms are bleeding.." She said, with a small frown. "I can heal them if you'd like.. But, I can understand if you're one of those types that don't like magic or you don't take help from strangers.." She shrugged, putting her utensils on her plate as well as the cup before handing it to the waitress who had come by to take it up. "Thank you.." She said simply before the waitress took it and headed toward the kitchen to get them cleaned. Kli had introduced himself, but she couldn't help feel like she was deceiving him as well. Sure, she had done it for many years, saying her name was Kli, but he seemed really honest. Her real name was a long one, a name fit for a princess of Lorian, but surely it wouldn't fit for her to introduce herself as it. Her first name, though, did start with Kli, and that's why she always introduced herself as that. Being royalty, even if you weren't ruling quite yet, made it hard to be completely honest with anyone at first. But it all came with the territory, and she would have to deal with it one time or another. "Xailich you say? Oh, yes, I'm quite fine.." She said with a laugh. "No real damage.. What about you? Do your arms hurt?" She asked, seemingly worried about this new stranger she had just met. (Sorry I took a while to repost, I haven't been feeling much like posting) |

Xailich looked at his arms, they didn’t hurt to bad; he was accustomed to pain, and this was nothing compared to what he had been through or had experienced. He pulled the pieces of glass out of his arms slowly and shook his head quietly to the woman who offered her healing abilities. He had nothing against magic in general, just other peoples, typically he didn’t trust anyone’s magic except for his own. He smirked, and thought to himself, ‘And sometimes even that got him into messes.’ None of the cuts were even deep, just surface level scratches that would only annoy him for the next day or so. Xailich looked up in response to her question and gave a reply, “Not that bad, just annoying that’s all.” He continued to pull glass from his arm until all of the glass shards lay on the table instead of in his arm. He muttered a curse to the window and then asked for another wine, keeping his eyes on the small leather pouch in his hood. The money should be enough to cover him and perhaps… Xailich raised a question just to keep a conversation flowing and learn more about this new woman; he was intrigued by her, but didn’t admit it, not even to himself, “So, Kli, are you from Imythess? Or does your homeland lie elsewhere?” He took a sip of his new wine, which the waitress had brought while he was asking the question, and waited for her response. (OOC: sorry, weekend was kinda busy... also sorry for the lack of length...) |

Kli glanced to him as he picked the glass from his arm and ordered his drink, giving a nod as she thought about how many times she had been hurt from battles, training, family, and realized that she really was quite used to the pain. After a while, it just went numb. Instead of feeling the agony as she used to, she now wouldn't feel much more than a sting. An annoying sting that made you want to kill whatever caused it. She had an idea of what he meant by the phrase "Annoying", but she decided that it would be best to head towards a different topic since she had just ate and thinking about blood and battles was not something she enjoyed doing after, during, or before meals. There was something about the whole deal that made her feel sick and wanting to avoid it at all costs. she didn't enjoy killing things, and to have lives taken away by her own hands was almost too hard for her to bare. Whether it be evil or good, she now had a tough time dealing with it. She was suddenly ripped out from her thoughts and her eyes darted to the man. She stared at him for a moment, her eyes wide as if in fear of what the answer to that question might bring. Has he already heard of lorian and it's renegade (Is that the right word?) queen? Or, will he pass it off and ease her troubled mind from the constant worry of him finding out that she was royalty. Her eyes quickly darted away to avoid too much staring as she laid her head down on the bar. "No, I'm not originally from Imythess, but I plan to stay here for a while.." She mumbled before taking in a deep breath. "I'm originally from The City of Lorian" She explained in a simple tone, as if passing it off as nothing. "What about you? Are you originally from here or what?" She asked with a smile. |

Xailich looked down at his glass as she answered; in response to her speaking he looked at her and listened. She had come from some other place; he wondered how many people in Imythess actually came from Imythess. He had never heard of the land that she spoke of; then again, he knew very little of the world outside of Imythess and the place where he came from. Where he came from, knowledge of the human world was pointless; however he knew the planes like the back of his hand. He glanced at it and had to smirk; the cuts made it look different from normal. Perhaps that wasn’t a good analogy after all. She had finished with a relaying question and he thought for a moment; it was another question that he was forced to choose the truth or another lie. He hated his name, and he hated where he came from; however, as a man of honesty, he almost seemed compelled to answer truthfully. Xailich opened his mouth prepared to tell her that he was from Imythess; however, a quick answer that told the truth came instead, “I come from the Shadow Plane.” He winced and closed his eyes then opened the back up and added quietly, “I hope that doesn’t make you think less of me; I can’t blame myself for it.” He sunk back in thoughts, cursing himself for his randomness and compulsiveness. Xailich hated the fact that he could think that he was going to do one thing, and turn around and do the other, instantly; as though some other force pushed him to do it. He almost had no free will, running from one sentence to the next, thinking about what to say; though what came from his mouth could be completely different from what he thought. He raised and eyebrow and a thought came to his mind that scared him. He shook his head, ridding himself of the thought that he was nothing more than an animal, enslaved with instinct, and no free will. |

Kli stared at him for a moment as she heard those words, her fingers instinctively going towards the back of her neck, knowing now who had the alignment of evil. Of course, it didn't matter much to her, but she was a bit relieved that it was someone who seemed as a lesser evil than the ones she had to deal with most of the time. Her eyes quickly darted away, since it was positively rude to stare at anyone, no matter what they said, and sighed softly. "You mustn't think that way.. I am, however, glad that you are truthful to me.." She said with a smile, glancing at him once again. The truth was, that if she had heard him tell a lie, she would know about it being a lie because of the spell detect lies, and she didn't like people lying to her. It seemed very suspicious to her when someone didn't tell the truth, because they probably had something to hide and secrets could often be big. But, she was more suspicious of this, because she did it herself. With every thing that he had shared that were true, she felt even guiltier for not being completely honest with him as well. "You know, like I said, you shouldn't think that way.. If people don't like you, they don't like you.. And if they don't like you for where you grow up, and not for who you are, then I don't think they are very good-natured people.. I'm sure that some people might be a bit afraid because of where you are from, but if they think less of you as a person, then I think that you haven't found many good people as of late.." She said simply. "It may be hard to think about, but, not everyone will be like that.. The truth may be a little bit awkward, but lies can get you into a heck of a lot of mess.." She said simply, taking the towel from her shoulders and putting it on her lap since she was pretty much dry by then and the towel was nearly soaked. She pushed a few strands from her face before looking to the boarded up windows with a small frown. 'I wish I could see what is going on out there..' She thought, as the wind howled and the night drove on. the storm seemed to be getting better, but she didn't want to count her chickens before they hatched. She would stay the night at the inn regardless. |
