((Short summery: aka I forgot my last post and never got to read your last post… sorry ))Lynthaer was flying toward the city when AD noticed an old man by a barn just across a field from the Village of Kellen. Hunger driven, he dove at the man, killing him very quickly. AD half realized what he had become (not really understanding what a vampire really was), and still viewing him as a friend she went off to the house. Telling the woman and boy who lived there that the barn was on fire, they grabbed buckets of water and rushed out to extinguish the flames. The woman also fell to Lynthaer, but the boy turned tail and ran into town. AD returned to see the boy fleeing and a commotion raised in the village. Still hoping to find out if the story of the Centaurs was true or not, she watched as the gathered force came out. With the barn was now fully aflame behind them. Lynthaer armed himself with his blade. AD moved into the shadows to fade away unseen by the force that approached, commenting to Lynthaer with a smile to not step on her. About a dozen or so riders on horseback approched with the boy behind another rider in order to get rid of the “monster” he had seen. |

Lynthaer rushed the riders, his lust for there life rising so much that he could hear the very beating of their hearts. His sword was flaming, ready to sear open the veins of his attackers so that he could truly feast. Lynthaer collided with the head horsemen, bringing him off of his beast and into the air. Angling himself to land, he tore out the man's throat as his feat alighited upon the earth. Blood spewed upward in a fountain, which Lynthaer gladly let fall on his face and into his mouth. Yet he could not dwell on this one person. He was now being circled by the man's companions, who were eager to rid their grounds of this demon that had already taken two of their number. |

Aether Draka sighed softly to herself as the man was removed from his horse and killed in a manner similar to the way Lynthaer had killed the others. That wasn’t going to work. The warrior AND the horse had to both die in battle for them to be reborn as a Centaur, according to the story anyways. If Lynthaer was just killing the men that left killing the horses up to her. Perhaps this was just to complicated a venture then. She wouldn’t know where a Centaur was reborn at anyways, and after the first one was reborn, they would certainly be reborn together, but there still may be one in the city or somewhere near… A battle would surly lure out a Centaur then! Cautiously she crept forward into the moving and shifting shadows caused by the horses and the burning barn. The man closest to her raised his blade as she drew hers cleanly across the horse’s jugular vain. Lynthaer would surly notice and make this man his next target. AD retreated, dodging past the huge demon and the now panicked horse that had sidestepped into the horse next to it when her cut was made. She paused on the opposite side of Lynthaer. Putting him between the bleeding horse and herself. That way she would also be behind him should they be so craven and immoral as to attack him from behind. She wondered if the rider would actually die before the horse did now… How was one supposed to kill both the horse and the rider anyways? ((OOC: There are no Centaurs here.)) |

((OOC: Fine Here goes )) Lynthaer almsopt passed by the man with the suddenly flowing kneck. Unfortunately, he was n oticed, and his fluids were quickly drained. Lynthaer thanked AD quietly in his mind, knowing it was not his blade that had severed the man's veins. One, there were no scorche marks; two, the wound was too small; and three, he would have drained the man sooner if he had cut the throat. Lynthaer whirled back and forth, a maelstrom of burning metal and glittering fangs. Until he heard a tell tell thrum a little ways away. Without thought, he toop one final slash at the men and women around him and hit the ground, his eyes searchign for Aether. He couldn't find her as three arrows whizzed by over him, only hope that they didn't find her. |

((OOC: Thank you!)) The demonic elf was quick to dispatch of the man and just as quick to turn on the others. Retreating once more into the shadows so she wouldn’t be struck by accident she assessed the situation. Too many horses were surviving the blade. He just wasn’t interested in killing them. It took her a moment to realize that he was after food, not just a fight. So how much did it take to feed a demon vampire? Guilt struck her again at that thought. He had died because she hadn’t been able to help him… the lake had managed to take him from her and now she had met up with him once more. She really wanted to know how he became a vampire. Was the fish a vampire perhaps? That might work. A vampire fish might want to eat a demon… but how did one get a vampire fish? Lost in thought for a moment, she didn’t notice the horse nearest her stepping further back from Lynthaer, his arm bearing a wound from the flaming blade that he was clutching, until it ran into her and nearly knocked her flat. Arrows flew past her face then as the man on the horse saw her and shouted something she missed in her moment of panic. Throwing her arms over her head, both of her blades still in hand, and ducked. Lashing out at the horses feet with her blade after that caused the horse to rear up and scream like only a horse could. AD had been seen now but she wasn’t going to stay where she was. Moving again, she started by going under another horse then breaking into a run toward the burning barn, now more like a bonfire then a building. The roof had collapsed during the fight. Not actually fighting now, she put up her sanctuary so they wouldn't be able to hit her at all now. |

Lynthaer lept up as he heard the arrows thud into flesh, followed by two grunts and two thumps hitting the ground. Both sound male, so there was little worry that Aether had been hit. There was a large ring around him now, composed of the people still living. In the short and violent storm of his innitial attack, he had takne out more than half of the village men and women, along with some help from an unseen AD. The rest were no looking as him warrily. He, however, was focussed on the three crossbowmen that knet about sixty paces away from him. They were reloading their weapons, their eyes occasionaly flickering towards Lynth. He didn't have any long range attacks, and he could only throw two weapons. Lynthaer snarled at the men, and twirled his weapons. He was going to have to dash them, probably taking three bolts while doing so. Fortunately he was imortal, so long as they didn't blast through his head or heart. Other things would grow back. He hoped. With out anywarnig, Lynth lept forward in the direction of the bowmen, slashing through two women with cleavers and an old man with a dull sword. Their torsos went flying as he began his rush on the bowmen. Two strings twanged, and he felt searing pain in his left knee and the side of his stomash. His leg buckled beneath him, but he snapped his wings open in time to take flight. Lynthaer was now speeding about two paces off the ground, his left leg dangling painfully below him. The bolt was still lodged in the joint, and Lynth could feal the metal grainting against bone. He gritted his teath against the pain and flew on towards the bowmen. Lynthaer slahsed with his sword as he reached the archers, taking down the one who had grazed his stomach. Their you bastard, he thoguht with satifaction. He heard another twang, very much closer thn the last two. He felt the bones in his right shoulder shatter. Raoring out in pain, Lynthaer dropped to the ground, releasing his sword. |

AD skid to a stop before the fire and turned around. She smiled to herself then. Lynthaer was very good at getting everyone to pay attention to him. She took a blade in each hand and closed her eyes to focus. Dark shadows pooled around her feet then rose up in the form of a huge pure black bird, like a phoenix rising from the ashes. Rising with the smoke that blotched the sky it gave out a cry like thunder. Folding back its wings it dove at the mass of horses and people moments after Lynthaer had taken wing. The group scattered, unable to close in around him once more. The huge shadow bird rose up into the air again and started another dive, the sound of thunder-like call drowning out most other noises. It wasn't until then that she opened her eyes once more. Big things like this were hard to do and they never lasted long. AD let her gaze wander over what was quickly becoming a battlefield. Not much blood was actually staining the ground though. She frowned then as she saw another group coming out of the hill from the city. Then she noticed something that made her pause. The shadow illusion bird dissolved, it's time only half spent. She had the feeling she may need that ability again soon. The advantages were failing them... Her nighttime shadows were going to leave her again. Dawn was coming. With her sanctuary still up she went down the hill, ignoring the men and woman who attempted to strike her down. They noticed her now that she was out in the open, but soon enough they stopped, they always did. It took only a short time for them to figure out that they couldn't actually strike her and often that still worked even after she struck her first blow. They just sort of looked at her, confused. |

As lynth lay on the ground, he began mumbling under his breath, trying to cast a spell. He needed to heal himself, and now that part of him was broken, the villagers would be closing in. Fast. He watched them out of the corner of his eye as they cheered towards him, pitchforks waving, torches bright, rusty blades slashing eagerly. Damnit, he thought to himself. He didn't know if he could restore his bones to normal in theamount of time he was given before scewered at the point of a fork. Then, help came once more from Aether. The mob began to scream and point off towards the burning barn, running away from him and whatever they were pointing at. Lynthaer looked in the direction of their terrified glances, and watched as a huge black form flew towards the towns people. Lynthaer's own eyes widened in surprise, but he turned his gaze away from it. He beleived to be AD's work. Hoped it was. Lynthaer's hand suddenly glowed with a sickly black light, and was raised to his shoulder. He growled softly as he felt boned rip through already torn muscle and rearrange itself properly. The muscle patched itself up on top of the new skelliton after that, and in lesss than fifteen seconds, the whole shoulder was as good as it was before. Lynthaer looked down at his kneee. Now to mend that. Slowly, he pulled himself up into a sitting position and reached down to the injureds limb. He felt the matel and wood of a cross bow bolt still within his kneee and groaned to himelf. Why do I have to dig the damn thing out, he complained in his head. There was realy nothing else he could do though. With a snarl on his face, Lynth took his free hand and plunged it into his ruined knee. He growled again, thouhg this time it was almost as loud as his roars, as he groped for the bolt. He felt the slipper object, and worked his fingers around it until he had a good grip,. Then he ripped it out. This time a roar did escape his lips. It echoed, mingling in with the screams of terror. Panting, Lynthaer reached down with his still glowing hand and worked his magic on his knee. As before, the bone and muscle tore trhough and around each other, causing him even more pain in the healing. That was the nature of his healing. Fast and efficient, but not soothing. Very much unlike the healing of clerics and paladins. It got the job done, however, and in a lesser amount of time. Lynthaer pulled his hand back as the sickly light left it and tested his knee quickly. It was till sore, but now could be used. He would ignore the scratch on his side where the second bolt had grazed him. Lynth noticed that the screams of terror were no longer flying through the night air. Looking around, he saw that the mob was forming again, rushing him....and striking somethi9ng else. e caught a glimpse of what could be AD, but though they were striking at her, he could see no wounds. He smiled at this as he pushed himself to his feat. She was good, he had to admit. And very helpful in a tight spot. Pehaps she could use some help as well. Once more, he muttered under his breatyh, but this time two flaming whips appeared in his hands. His stomach was sated, so now it was time for carange for the sake of carnage. He ran towards the villagers, whips lashing out. He didn't notice the paling horizon. |

((OOC: Just remembered she was still chaotic evil in this thread! )) The sounds of battle were making her heart pound in her ears. Images of the only other big battle she had been part of flashed through her mind’s eye. Mobs of the living dead had attacked a city she had taken refuge in. They were storming the castle, tearing down walls and the more people that died the more powerful the enemy became… that was before she knew there wasn’t an enemy, or if there was she was part of that too. Anger rose in her chest, anger at these people for attacking her when she once would have helped them. Hatred for their ignorance and for her own inabilities. If she had bothered to notice the demonic ring around her neck and knew how to tell how the small demon trapped within it felt, she would have sensed it laughing with joy. Her dark aura sprang to full life to the point that black flames seemed to engulf her. With her familiar dagger in one hand and her green hilted elven dagger in the other, she spun them in unison. “Turin,” She almost hissed the draconic tongue, “clear the way.” The tiny fly dragon zipped out of it’s home in her backpack where it guarded her treasures as if it was his own hoard. The tiny golden dragon spiraled up above her and rained down carefully aimed magic missiles on the fighters between her and Lynthaer. Her sanctuary fell as she struck out with both blades, one for the horse and one for the man who blocked her way. She jumped up behind another one of the riders, killing her with a slash through the spine and stood on the saddle looking for the winged demon she had arrived here with. She saw he was back on his feet. In fact he was running toward them all. Hopping off the horse she slashed at its flanks. It panicked and ran right through the mob of villagers, no doubt trampling a few. Once more her eyes flickered to the slowly lightening sky. Vampires couldn’t be in the sun… but where had Lynthaer’s things gone to? His hooded cloak and mask were beyond her sight. She hoped he knew where they were. She turned away, to dodge a blow as the fool yelled a war cry that would have hit her otherwise. It seemed someone finally noticed she might be hit by a blow now. She caught the blow with a raised arm, her elven blade laying flat against her arm and causing the strike to glace down her arm and off her elbow toward the ground. It was only too easy to bring the other dagger around to kill the attacker on their now exposed side and back. Only after the foe had fell did she see it had been a young woman, nearly her own age. She took a few steps back, not sure what to make of that, and then moved sideways as Turin’s magic missile struck another. Shaking her head slightly she raised her blades defensively again. There was still more people out her trying to kill them. |

Lynthaer roared loudly as he met the mob, his flaming lashes ripping their way through flesh and bone. He was in a blood lust now. He had already had enough fluid to fill him, but his mind was gone. he wanted to kill. He wanted bodies layign in chared piles that could be seen for miles. He wanted ever last one of them to die. The red glow of his eyes began to pulse at a rapidly increasing rythm, replacing the beating of a dead heart. Long white teath seemed to golow with deomic fire, and his dark aura was pulsing as well. he could feel Shlarthæran within him, his own lust rising. He could clearly feal the single chain wrapped around his left arm, a sign of the Kyton within him. "To the abyss I send your pathetic souls," he cried out suddenly. Looking around him, he noticed a woman actualy dogding his whips. She held a sword, ready to leap forward at him. His smile widened, and he bent down, ripping her torso away from her waist with his mouth. It was at this unfortunate moment that he felt a burning on his back. Whipping around, Lynth cuaght the site of his doom at this glorious moment. He had neglected the rising sun, and it was going to catch him, turning the mighty vampiric half demon inot a smoldering pile of ashes. He snarled at the rapidly lightening sky and took one last swipe at the villagers around him before running. he needed to find his clothes and transform within at least a minute or he was dead. For good this time. |

Most of them had turned once more on Lynthaer, not seeing her as much as a threat as the demon was. She didn’t blame them, he could take more then she would be able to manage, but it was their own fault that her blades took their lives while they weren’t looking at her. She paused to catch her breath when she heard the abyss mentioned. She looked up and saw that she had managed to close the gap between her and Lynthaer, the mob wasn’t going between them anymore. She also saw him take down a woman who was getting too close with a bite. Quite suddenly, he spun about and just now seemed to notice the sun was rising. She caught her breath and looked around her quickly. Time, how much time? She was horrible with time… No one had anything large enough to cover him… For a moment a sense of helplessness flooded over her, rooting her in place. Was he bound to die with her right there, again? “No.” She ordered herself and shoved past a man who was attempting to get on a horse. Lynthaer had started to run from the light, but they thought he was running from them. A shout of triumph filled the air for only a moment before a voice rang out “Ready, fire!” Arrows zipped past as she took off after him. The ground abruptly leapt at her shortly there after and in attempting to get to her feet a sharp pain ran up her leg. Only for a moment was she in shock and then determination set in. Once more her sanctuary sprang to life about her and her gaze went to Lynthaer. The huge black bird she had made before came to life once more, raw shadows. She abandoned the noise this time, as she needed the shadows themselves more. It dove at the villagers in hopes of scattering them again and then turned directly toward Lynthaer where it landed between him and the sun. She had it spread it’s wings in order to cast shadow over him and half of the area. Aether closed her eyes as her focus wavered. She focused on blanketing as much of the area as she could in shadow. How long she had was unknown, but she hoped it would be enough, it had to be enough. |

Lynthaer pumped his legs as he began to shrink into an elven form. His eyes were burning from the light, and so was the rest of his body. Smoke was beggining to rise from him now as the edge of the sun began to peak over the horizon. Lynthaer could feal his skin burning and smoldering. In a couple more sconds, he would burst into flames and be gone for good. His watering eyes searched franticly for his shirt, cloak, mask, hat, and boots. He began shaking as panic started to take over, eyes twitching every possible way. From behind him he heard chears, then the sharp pang of bow strings. his baody was peirced with many more sharp needles of pain as he felt the arrows enter him. He muttered in a gutteral tone, bringing forth his twisted healing powers and running his hands over his body. The pain eased, and his skin melded together for the barest moment before the sun's light hit him again. There. His eyes spotted the small pile of clothes not ten paces away. Lynth leapt towards them with his remaing strength as he was suddenly bathed in shadow. He looked up quickly to see the monstrous balck bird AD had conjured a while ago. Once more he offered a mental thanks to her. He would have to repay her someday. As he looked at it though, he saw a slight waver and frowned. He was deffinately not the only one to be sufffering. With a snarl, Lynthaer began to throw his clothes on, welcoming the cool touch of the cloth. In seconds, he had his tunic on, along with his hat and boots. Reclasping his cloak, he placed his mask on last. He took an uneaded breath as he was once more safe. Now time to help Aether. Lynthaer whirled arond, his sword sheathed on his back, but scythe still out and burning. He was still aching from the sunlight and using magic, but he thought he could rush back in for a moment. Luckily, the burning weapon spell did not draw on him, but sustained itself. He began to run back towards the whooping villagers, who were very quickly approaching Aether. he did not know about her sanctuary, and thought that if they reached her, she was done for. He reached her before they did, however, and placed himself between them and AD. "You can run when your ready, AD." he said to her, waiting for the running villagers. |

Aether Draka was startled by Lynthaer’s voice and lost her concentration on the shadow. The early morning sunlight soon flooded the area as the shadows faded away. He had found his things and Turin soon zipped past him to try and help out AD. She dropped her sanctuary and looked down at the arrow in her leg. “You have to remove it before I can heal it!” Turin told her telepathically. Twisting around to look at it she broke the fletching end off and pulled the shaft out. It stung for only a moment before Turin started to heal it. “Can you do that while I get out of here?” she asked the fly dragon in draconic, reading herself to get up. “If you don’t mind it hurting while you do so.” Turin said and shook his head. He wasn’t happy with the idea. AD nodded and got to her feet. She wished she had wings then, more then anything wings would be so incredibly helpful. She almost fell again, but she could also feel the strange warm sensation of the heal spell through the sharper pain. The next best thing would be a horse, if she knew how to catch one it could be helpful. There weren’t many left now though, and still no centaurs… She started back toward the forest, with a limp at first, but as Turin healed the wound she got faster until she was up the hill and past the smoldering remains of the barn. She paused at the top of the hill and looked around in hopes of spotting a horse without a rider. She saw the charred remains of some in the heap that had been a barn. Looking back to see if Lynthaer was following she saw that more villagers were massing. If she and Lynth did this again they would need more people then just the two of them, though Lynthaer was very much a small army all on his own. After making sure she wasn’t leaving her friend behind, she would make a beeline for the shelter of the forests once more. All this open ground made her nervous as it offered few shadows for her use. |

Lynth met the villagers with the same flaming fury as before. Only this time he was mach smaller, and much faster. He whirled in a maestrom of fire and steel, snarl hidden by the grinning mask. He took his attention off of AD completely, putting it on the goal of keeping these mad villagers away from her. the ywere happy enough to oblige, and quickly began to encirlce him. He let them, and soon his snarl was replaced by the maniacle grin. They had almost had him once and they lost it. Then they had turned on AD. Big mistake. The reason for the grin was for this mistake. Lynthaer had realized not too long ago that AD would probably be the only person he would ever protect willingly, and that meant that she would get all of his protection. Lynth took a second to look away from the battle towards where Aether had been last. She was not there any more. Instead, she was limping away quickly in the direction of the forest. Smart girl. The same one who had not fled in terror when he had been walking the streets of Taras. He still thanked her for that. With a roar fit t=for his demonic form, Lynthaer hurld himself through the barrier of men and women. The lept back in supprise, giving him an easy way through. Taking this route, he sprinted up to her. Quickly, he resheathed his scythe on his back and muttered his dark healing. the blck light quickly lept to his hands, and as he reached her, one arm shot towards her leg, hovering beside it. He felt the presence of another healing and withdrew his quickly. If it was healing of Light, they would work against each other, and he could not yet tell what it felt like. "You, young miss, need to choose your friends more wisely," he sagt as he ran along beside her. |

The forest was a bit further away then she expected it to be. She wondered about why that would be when she realized it was because Lynthaer had flown them out here. She wasn’t running away without thinking about it though. She had the advantage in the forest. Shadows abound and branches created ample cover. No one can stumble over you by accident if you’re up in tree. Lynthaer caught up quickly enough, so she risked glancing back to see if they were being followed or not. It would be easy enough for them to get on their horses and catch up, but they could just as easily cut their losses and take care of the injured and bury their dead. But people were foolish sometimes and they might think that they could beat them now just because they were running away. When Lynthaer spoke, she was surprised by the comment. So surprised in fact that she nearly fell. She would have if Turin hadn’t finished healing her leg. She had hurt that leg before and remembered that healing had taken linger. The injury still stung a bit. Turin flew up to her shoulder and tucked himself in under her hair at the base of her neck. She had never even thought one could actually choose friend, or even that there was an option. She just tended to stay around people and places that accepted her. She wasn’t going to stay long in a place or with someone who was always trying to kill her. She didn’t mind so much if they were different someones… but still. “What do you mean, choose my friends?” She asked, her confusion and surprise plainly in her voice. “I didn’t even know I had a choice. Besides, you were only the third person I met since coming to Imythess.” It was hard to run and talk though, so she saved her breath for running. Thinking back to how she came to Imythess in the first place she began to wonder. Had her grandmother sent someone else to bring her back, or perhaps just to keep an eye on her. Ki-Chel had told Aether that she had been marked, that she had claim on her soul. But what if… a terrible thought crossed her mind. What if her grandmother was the one who brought Lynthaer back? Was her grandmother using him? No, it couldn’t be. She wouldn’t have made him a vampire, she would have just given him a new demonic form, wouldn’t she? But Lynthaer hadn’t answered her question about how he had come back. Her thoughts were interrupted by another’s then. Turin sent her a warning. “We’re being followed.” Not wanting to waist time looking back, as she couldn’t outrun a horse anyways, she sped up. Sprinting for the trees would give her an advantage, then it wouldn’t matter how many there were. |
