As Sekuda and Ethstar continued on their journey from Richmond Lake to Kellen, Sekuda could already see the change in the landscape. The large rivers and ponds were gone, and the land grew flatter with less trees. It was obvious to Sekuda that they had reached their destination as a large town popped out from the horizon ahead. As they continued on the city got closer and Sekuda could already make out the main buildings like the Inn and stables. Within minutes they were already at the doorstep of the city and as Sekuda entered he turned back to Ethstar with a warm smile upon his face. "Come on!" he said before entering inside. The weather was nice here in Kellen today. It was warm but not too warm. The winds gave a gentle breeze which was always nice and there were no clouds as far as anyone could see in the sky. It was the perfect day to be outside and playing for small children, and that is what he saw. There were many children of the town outside playing around infront of their homes and on the streets. There were also alot of merchants. Today was their day too as people would come out on a day like this to have fun, and when they passed a merchant they would try to sell something. In all if was one of those good days everyone can benefit on. As Sekuda and Ethstar walked down the roads of Kellen they came upon the Green Gryphon tavern. This was the first stop on Sekuda's list. Here he would be able help find Ethstar a job, get a drink, rent a room then do whatever he felt like for the rest of the day. One of those things Sekuda wanted to do was of course go the Stables. He had been to the stables here many times now on separate occasions before, and every time he went he still enjoyed it. Sekuda shook his head getting the thought out of his head. This moment wasn't for thinking it was for helping. "In here..." he said to Ethstar before opening the door to the Green Gryphon. From inside came the strong smell of whiskey, wine and sake all mixed into the on. Loud noises also came from the tavern. When wasn't there some? As Sekuda entered he looked around. Today there were many people here sitting together in large tables. Most of them were talking loudly while others were trying to stand but kept falling back and others were laughing. In other words in was a typical day for a tavern. |

Ethstar had silently walked the whole way there, not really paying attention to the events that had went on around him. His face had stayed as solemn and gentle as ever, eyes not once straying from the invisible road they had taken. His mind had been preoccupied with all the stuff he had learned, especially the recent events concerning the fish and the water. His mind was always curious, always wondering. That particular trait had managed to go straight through the top of the meter when he had made his appearance here on the Material plane. Always something new presenting itself to his eyes, always something wildly interesting around the next corner. Giving a short and sharp nod to Sekuda as he spoke to Ethstar, he picked up his step. They continued on their way, and finally entered the town gates. Quite a few eyes were pulled to the pair, which was to be expected. Mostly older women and men, for the children were much too innocent, and much too busy with their toys. The people who were staring were quick to notice the height of the first stranger, and next to notice the beauty of the second. In simple terms, amazed men stared at Sekuda, while dreamy women stared directly at Ethstar. As always, his cheeks started to grow red at the extra attention, the one thing he had never liked. And yet managed to always get. Ducking his eyes to focus on the ground, it was as if he suddenly found the dirt quite intriguing. He faintly heard a merchant call out to him as they passed, but he completely ignored the man. He had no gold anyway, so he tried to convince himself that his intentions had not been rude. Finally, they entered the tavern. Sekuda had been right in his assumptions that this was where Ethstar had wanted to go. Briefly glancing around the room, he remembered his encounter with Eledin and Kain. They had gotten into a nice fight, but Ethstar considered himself to be the one who had won it. He had drawn blood, and then something had interrupted them. Oh well. Returning his mind to the current events, he scanned the faces all around them while heading to an empy table. Once again, people were prone to stare, and once again Ethstar tried to block out their gazes. Turning his head slightly so he was half-way facing Sekuda, he addressed the man quietly. "What now?" |

As Sekuda and Ethstar entered the tavern his eyes darted around. He had done this before with a tavern. He would find potential employers around the bar. This wasn't the first time he had come here for a job. Already he found a god one. He was clothed in pricey silk and cloth. His hat had many colored feathers upon it along with small jewels on the rim. His body was fat with found and his stomach over lapped his tighter pants. In other words he was a noble. Usually these men always needed a job done, and if they needed the men they would come to the bar. At least that was Sekuda's beliefs. He pulled his gaze away from the man, looking over at Ethstar who had already found a table. Sekuda stumbled over to it, avoiding the arms and legs hanging out from the seats. When he arrived he quickly sat down beside him just catching the question Ethstar asked. "Well my friend that man over there..." he began with a pointed finger at the man he saw before, "He looks to be a noble of some type--." Sekuda was interrupted as a young girl came over in a outfit fit for this tavern. "Hello there lads.." she said with a fake smile, "What can I get ye?" Sekuda gave the girl a polite smile quickly thinking over a drink. At that moment a man he met before named Kain came to his memory. A small smile grew over his face as he decided to try the drink this friend had fancied. "A cup of Sake will do me fine.." Sekuda stated simple then looked over at Ethstar. "What can I get ye?" she asked looking over at Ethstar with a shy grin. It was obvious to Sekuda this girl liked Ethstar and a grin came to Sekuda's face also as he watched the two from his seat awaiting for the reply that Ethstar would give her. |

Pulling his eyes toward the person Sekuda indicated, he silently studied the interesting looking man. He had noted alot that had similarities to this human, wandering the streets of every major town he had come across. Always completely out of shape and flashing around shiny looking stones and small rings or necklaces of pure gold. Ethstar had never understood this, and he figured he really never would. From his experience with Kli, in Taras, he had come to learn that most of these beings were quite complex and completely intricate. As his thought process reached this particular point, he was suddenly tore from his ponderings by the voice of a young girl. Blinking rapidly, he managed to focus his face and eyes toward the young servant who had asked him a question. His eyes never once took in her costume, which was simple leather cut short and low to leave room for any imaginations. His eyes simply connected with hers, managing to pull a small giggle from her lips. At this, the tips of Ethstar's ears suddenly turned a bright red, and he shot his gaze back down to the top of the table. Speaking quickly, his voice came out somewhat soft and hurried. "I am fine, milady. But thank you." Keeping his eyes focused on the wooden object below his nose, he stayed in that position until the maid gave up her mild flirting to get Sekuda's order. A small sigh of relief could be heard spouting from out of his lips, and he finally looked up. Studying Sekuda for a moment, he pondered his strange choice of drink. He certianly remembered Kain, the only person that Ethstar had ever known to drink the strong-smelling brew. He let loose a short "Mm", then turned back to the noble man. "So. Those particular men are usually prone to have jobs?" Ethstar blinked and tried to understand this new fact of the world, wondering what made them all that different from other men. They WERE quite large and lacking in the muscled area, so perhaps they needed heavy work to be done. That certainly would make sense, for they didn't seem to have any inclination to put their own uncommendable bodies to the plow. "Should I ask him for work, or you?" Both Ethstar and Sekuda were a little strange compared to everyone else, which Ethstar couldn’t help but notice time and time again. He felt like a sore thumb, standing out quite nicely among the other people that were to be considered "normal". Still gazing straight at the man, the noble didn't seem to notice him. The servant girl had just brought him a large plate of some kind of meat, and he was generously stuffing his face with the food. Ethstar winced and quickly glanced away, letting his light blue eyes rest upon Sekuda. |

Sekuda sat back watching Ethstar with a smile upon his face. He wandered how he would deal with this girl. It was obvious she had a thing for him and Ethstar must have seen this. Even as he brought a giggle to her lips just by staring at her. Then disappointment came to his face which he shook away. As the girl turned away and left he gave a small nod. Then turned to look at Ethstar. "You are never going to get a girl like that..." he stated with a shrug before returning his attention to the noble sitting at the other table. He had seen much of his kind. Always travelling through towns, acting as if they are higher than anyone else is when in fact they weren't. They just had money and nothing else, and because of this they were made the highest of all except the Kings, Gods and Goddesses. Sekuda shook hi head slowly as he watched the man pig out on some food the girl gave him and had to redirect his look to someone else, Ethstar. "Well my friend....I shall ask him if you want..." he started, looking back at the man. He was now finished already, well at that pace he should have choked, and was now cleaning his face with a silk cloth slowly. He turned back to Ethstar, "It is you who is seeking the job, therefore I suggest you go and get it." The girl came back with his sake giving a small bow before turning and running off to get more people's drinks. Sekuda's eyes looked down upon the sake, sniffing it a few times. "Never drank this stuff ever in my life...only trying it cause my friend drinks it.." he said slowly before picking up the cup. Slowly he tilted the cup down his throat only to drop the cup and start gagging. A few hits to his own chest stopped him and left him breathing harder than normal. "HOW CAN KAIN DRINK SOMETHING LIKE THAT!" he yelled still breathing heavily. |

Raising an eyebrow as Sekuda mentioned his finesse with the girl, he let out a short and unhumored laugh, that held some nervousness to it. He had no idea what the man was talking about, "getting" girls and whatnot. The only assumption he had to run on was the fact that Kli had told him, which had been something about "fancying" girls. At this thought, the corners of Ethstar's mouth twitched, finally proving that there was some humor actually running through his mind, and his laugh hadn't been as cold as it might have really seemed. "Well... I am not completely sure what you mean, unless you think I am wanting to fancy one of the girls. I... just... didn't really fancy her." Ethstar let loose a short blink, reviewing his sentence. He hoped it sounded real, for he really had no clue what he was spouting on about. Sighing to himself, he watched as Sekuda turned to observe the noble, and did so himself. Upon sighting of the man, a light groan came rumbling out from between his lips, probably not hearable. He let loose another wince as he gazed upon the man, who was shoveling down his food at an unearthly rate. He shifted his gaze only after watching the man for about three seconds, but the interesting image was planted firmly within his mind. He let out another soft groan, and then heard Sekuda's advice to go and get the mission himself. Blinking at this, Ethstar focused his gaze on Sekuda, a slight look of pleading to his eyes. He didn't want to go over there, for he knew if he did, he would be likely to stare. That was something that he considered quite rude, and he really didn't want to go through with it. But after a moment of simply pleading with his eyes, he realized the truth in Sekuda's statement. He DID want the job, so he SHOULD be the one that should go over there. Giving a short nod, the look in his eyes changed to one of determination. "Okay. I will be right back." Spinning on his heel, he started off toward the man, only to hear Sekuda go into some kind of attack. Spinning yet again, an alarmed look crossed over his face as he took in the tall man trying to get the spurt of Sake down his throat. Hearing the human let out a yell, a small smile crossed his face. He was going to be okay. It was somewhat interesting that he knew Kain though, Ethstar would have to ask him about that later. With his third turn of the evening, he spun around and headed straight toward the noble. The man must have saw him coming or something, for he managed to look up from the now-empty plate and scowl at the man who was interrupting his gorging. At the scowl, Ethstar immediately swept into a low and polite bow, a single word emitting from his lips. "Milord." At this, the noble took on a completely different attitude, the look on his face becoming one of prideful happiness. Straightening from his stance, Ethstar gave the man a short smile, and set into conversation. |
