Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit.

Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own.

In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins.

There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free.

Blue eyes peeked out from behind a veil, hiding a face that had once brung much friendship to the people in Imythess. Curls of stray black and red fell onto her shoulders as a large ship landed at the docks and prepared to let the passangers, as well as her, off. Although her face hidden by a black veil, her dress was of a light blue color with black designs on it. She took off the veil silently, folding it and putting it into an old bag, the same bag that she took many years ago when she ran from her land. Her name, as many knew her, was Kli. Her mind couldn't help wonder what had become of her friends, what had become of the place that she felt was home less than a year ago? What would be their reaction of her homecomming? Would it still be the same old Imythess that she had known before?

Her thoughts raced, wringing out her hands as she looked out into the ocean. Was it a mistake to return without any notice? Her thoughts were interupted by a young sailor who was yelling to the passengers that they could leave the ship since they had to move along. Kli sighed, picking up her dress slightly before starting off the boat. There, on her feet, were her old lucky boots. Some things never change. She thanked the sailors who had been nice enough to let her join them at such short notice before starting to walk towards the hub of the Taras docks. It was funny that it didn't seem to change at all, the same old Imythess and it's busy docks.

Meera's boots should have trod loudly upon the cobblestone that made up the streets of Taras, but instead, they only made a soft sound like she was walking with pillows on her feet. Loving the quiet, Meera only got a bit of it before she neared the busy Taras docks. They never appeared to settle down, even in the nights. This was not a bad thing though. Meera had many memories of this place, some good, some bad, and some just memories. One of her saddest was that of her friend Kli leaving the land of Imythess. Just thinking about it made tears stream down her face. Thinking of that always made her remember how she met Kli and how they became very good friends. All of those memories almost made Meera forget that she was still walking. Coming back to her senses, she noticed that she was just about to walk out into the water. Laughing, she knew what would have happened. Twisting the sea green ring around her finger Meera felt comforted in the fact that she knew she wouldn't have drowned in her own element. The ring would have caused her to walk on the water. She sighed, there was so much that had changed with her. It was almost as if she was a new person. Sitting down on the edge of the docks, she let her legs dangle off the side. Her golden emerald gaze instead was drawn to the one ship that was in port today. There were a few boxes being unloaded, but Meera spied one person stepping off.

It appeared to be a curly haired woman, wearing some sort of veil. Feeling somehow that this was farmilliar Meera's eyes narrowed focusing in on her. That nagging feeling that she knew the person wouldn't go away, so instead, Meera got up and began striding towards her. Upon closer inspection, she stopped dead in her tracks. Her jaw hung agape and new tears, happy ones though, slid down her face. She laughed and ran towards Kli calling out "Kli!! I have missed you so dearly!" Reaching her finally, Meera pulled her into a tight embrace crying with joy. She pullled away looking over her face once more as if it was too good to be true. Meera couldn't believe the coincidence that they were both at the dock at the same time. She thanked the gods that it had happened though. Tearing up all over again, Meera waited for Kli to say something. Somehow, she didn't feel that her escatic happiness could be expressed by words.

Kli had been walking down the docks, minding her own business when she heard soft footsteps. As they drew nearer, she heard a familiar voice calling her. Upon her looking at the owner of the voice, she stopped walking as memories flooded back. One of her best friends, meera, was here! The next thing she knew she was being pulled into a tight hug by Meera. She blinked, staring at her old friend for a few seconds. "Meera? Is that really you?" She asked with a wide smile. When Meera pulled back and Kli saw her face, she knew she wasn't going insane and hugged her back. What a great return home.. She thought pulling away again to study her familiar face. "It's been so long, I thought things would change drastically and I'd miss it all.. But, I see that some things will never change.." She said. She was so estatic at seeing her friend, so happy that she finally returned to her home. This was where she would settle down, where she might spend the rest of her days with the ones she cared about. Nothing else mattered at the moment, only the fact that she was finally home. She was finally back in Imythess.

"How did you know I would be comming back today?" She asked, wondering why she was here. She had wanted to surprise her friends, and was slightly let down at thinking that someone had told them she would be comming back. "Where is everyone else?" She asked. She had so much questions, racing through her mind at some incredible speed. She didn't know what she was going to do, where she was going to go, or how she was going to get there. "Oh well, it's just so great to see you, you made my return happy.." She said. "You won't believe what I have to tell you!" She exclaimed, putting her hand in her pocket. "Just wait until you here the most spendid news!"

Nodding escatically Meera laughed. It was her. Meera couldn't even believe herself that Kli was back. She had assumed that Kli had to resume her throne in her kingdom of Lorian. Obviously she had been wrong. Not willing to ask questions about that yet though, Meera simply soaked in the joy of her good friend returning. At Kli's question, she had to simply shrug. She truthfully hadn't known that Kli was coming back today. Maybe a greater power knew how joyful it would make her to see Kli again. Answering with, "I didn't really know you'd be coming back today. I simply felt like taking a walk around....and here I am!" she confessed the truth. Wincing at the fact that Kli thought everyone knew, Meera shook her head and said "no one else knew either. If you wish though, we can gather them all. I'm sure that they'll be just as happy as I am to see you causing mischeif on Imythess once again!" Laughing, Meera didn't want to dampen the mood even though Kli's other friends weren't here. The best thing she could do was give Kli a genuine smile to express her hapiness.

Hearing Kli's excitement at some news she wanted to tell Meera, she asked with a laugh "what? Tell me quickly! I can't stand the suspense!" With that she gave Kli one more hug before stepping backwards and giving Kli some room to tell her tale. Meera really had no clue what it was about, but she figured that was the reason why she had to listen. Her golden emerald eyes glistened in ecstasy as she waited for Kli to tell her the fabulous news.

"I cannot even believe that it's you Meera.. I mean, it's been so long!" She said happily, seeing her friend here once again. She was so happy she wanted to scream for joy, she was there with her friend and she'd never have to leave Imythess unless she wanted to ever again. She would never have to be a queen, or a princess, she could just be herself.. She could start a whole new life and grow with the people who she loved and the people that loved her. "I'm so happy that fate picked you to welcome me back.. It's the most happiest time in my life being back.." She said before listening to her words. "I'm glad you felt like taking a walk, it was a grand suprise.." She said, still estatic about being home and having one of her best friends show up when she came home. She laughed softly, looking around innocently before looking back at her. "What could you possibly mean? Me, mischeif? Those words are never in the same sentence.." She said, acting as if she actually believed it before breaking out with a large smile. "Okay, maybe I am a little mischeivious at times.." She said innocently. She listened to her friend's words, her smile growing even more if it was even possible to do so. "Come on, I'll tell you as soon as we can find somewhere to sit down.." She said happily as she dragged her off towards a bench happily. She sat down, pulling her a little bit as if to tell her to sit down.

"Okay, here it is.. What if I were to tell you that I was going to stay here for good?" She asked excitingly, watching for a reaction. "Because I am!" She exclaimed happily, jumping up slightly before sitting back down. "I appointed an heir to the throne who is going to run Lorian unless I choose to come back and I am no longer royalty.." She said, smiling happily. "I can finally get my own life.. I can finally do what I want without having to fear for my own life! Isn't it exciting?" She asked.

Ace patted his backpack making sure the newly purcused items were secure. He put the bag on his back held the few peices of parchment that had previously inhabited the bag in his hand. The parchments were ads for the Academy of magic, which he still did his best to improve. Sadly it had been too long since it had seen a hand full of students. There were a few here and there on an occasion or so but it was nothing like it was when he had gotten there. He used to have the comfort of having other teachers to help, of them he had to note that Kli was the best. She had a tendancy to wander off from time to time, but she always managed to fit some time into teaching what she knew. Now of couse as far as Ace could recall she was at Lorian. It was almost sad thinking or her tied down by her title but she was probably happy.

To add on to the day's coincidences, Ace's thought's were dispelled by the voice of Kli herself. Ace didn't recognize it at first but when he turned his head in the dicertion of the speaker he saw too familiar females. Meera of course was indentified at an instant, but it took a few moments of overcoming disblief to believe that it was in fact Kli talking with Meera on the bench. Ace was overjoyed, it had been overlong since he had last seen her, but wasn't she supposed to still be a Lorein? Kli's next words explained the sistuation, oddly enough. Ace walked towards them figuring that he'd rather talk to her than eavesdrop. "Very exciting," Ace said as he walked up beside Kli. "I thought I might never get the chance to see you agian, what with you buried in that royal mumbo jumbo."

Kli sat there, waiting for a reply from Meera as she heard a familiar voice nearing her. Her eyes widened, her mouth slightly ajar as she looked over at a familiar figure that stood next to her. She took in the features before a smile spread across her face rapidly. She let go of Meera's hands, standing up happily and giving him a large hug. "Master Ace!" She said excitingly, drawing away to see him again. "Don't you know not to eavesdrop my friend?" She asked, shaking her head slightly even though she was overjoyed with seeing him. "You must be careful, it might get you into trouble one day.." She said, acting serious before poking his chest as if she was his mother or something. "Plus, it's rude.." She said, but a smile crept back to her face when she said that, looking back and forth between Meera and Ace. "It's so good to see you both, especially since it is my first day back.." She said, putting her hands into her pockets and shifting her weight from one foot to another. "You know I couldn't stay there forever.." She said happily. "I miss my real family.." She said, suggesting that her friends in Imythess were her real family. "And I could never leave forever even if I was being forced to.. There's no way in this world that I wouldn't come back here, I'd go completely insane.."

"So, how's the academy going? Still going strong? Are you still the great teacher I know?" She asked curiously, poking him. At the moment, she was so happy that she was acting much different, much happier than ever before. She seemed as if she had nothing more holding her down to her sadness, nothing more on her shoulders.

(Can't post anymore since I don't have much to go on, but I'll definately post more next time.. :D )

((sorry!! I almost forgot about this!!))

Meera was overjoyed to hear Kli's news. Her hands clasped over her mouth as she stifled a gasp. As soon as she withdrew her hands though, a wide grin spread over her face. A soft laugh couldn't help but escape her lips as she was so giddy with excitement. She exclaimed to Kli "That's wonderful", with eyes widened in joy. Her head turned and she jumped up at the sound of footsteps and a recognizable voice. With another genuine laugh, she turned to Ace and gave him a warm hug. It was so good to be here with friends. With a sigh, she ran her fingers through her hair, not knowing what to do with all the hapiness that had built up inside of her. She had to get up, move around, do something other than just sit here. Looking to both Ace and Kli, she said, "Come on, let's walk around a bit." With that same giddy smile on her face, she did not wait for them to answer. Instead she walked away, almost shaking her head in disbelief. Walking to the edge of a pier, she jumped off and spread her wings, gliding around in a few circles to try and work some of the surprise out of her. What had hinted at being a normal day was quickly turning out to be so eventful that she didn't know what to do with herself.

Quickly, shaking her head, Meera touched back down on the pier and strode back to them. Running her hands through her windswept hair once again, she tried to pat it back down. After a while, she gave up though. With eyes bright and sparkling she asked, "So are you going to come with me? I have to move around wether you come or not. It will be much more enjoyable with you both there." She raised a brow questioning them both in turn.

((I don't have much to post either, but it should become easier after a while))
