| Welcome to Imythess, the border between dreams and reality. We hope you enjoy your visit. Imythess is a creative writing board where you narrate the story of a character in the medieval land of Imythess, on the planet Chaon. Each topic is an opportunity for your character to interact with the world and its peoples by cooperatively writing pieces of a story with other members, one post at a time. We call this role-playing, because you assume the identity of your character as if it were your own. In order to play, you must register an account for each character you would like to write about, and begin their tale by filling out their basic profile information: Race (human, elf, demon, etc.), class (warrior, mage, etc.), physical appearance, and any other personal details you would like to describe. You are also encouraged to come up with some background history information for what your character's life has been like up to the point at which their story in Imythess begins. There is no approval process or application required to join, so long as you follow the rules then you are free to write whatever character details you choose. Registration is simple, fast, and completely free. Create a character now! If you're already a member, you can log into your account below: |

Malik stood in a well lit corner of the Inn. He took his harp in hand and sat it's case on the floor hoping someone would give him gold, items, whatever it may be, especially food. He began to stroke the strings and made sure they were in tune, and then he started to play. Several moments later, he broke into song... "In a land that is part and merry, Imythess, land of the golden faerie, I sing this song with upmost trust, Imythess, land of love and lust. Keep in mind the little men, who must eat, so food you send, let the leaves of autumn fall, let the wolves beckon their midnight call. I whisper to you ancient words, that flutter and fly like small birds, in the midst of an autumn rain, may your life swell and sustain. And in the final moments of my song, I hope you do what is right, not wrong, List the the harp make its sound, I'm far from home, so buy me a round." Now this was one of his less poetic songs, but he was nearly starved and deprived of food, so he was beckoning for food here because he wasn't supposed to buy his own meal for a period of sixty days in the code of the ancient bard order, according to his father. He was in his last couple of weeks and hadn't eaten in over 3 days. |

Hymwen came in the song of elves and looks around the tavern and go's to a sit and Sits down Her dark green cloak hood was up and when she sits down she pulls her Hood down and her brown sholder-legth hair falls out of the hood. A man came over to her and says " may I get you anything." and stands there Waiting hymwen says " I will like milk thank you." and the man leaves to get the milk she wanted When the man comes back with the milk he gives her it and she gives him a coin and The man leaves to serve anyone else who would like something. Then she heard someone singing a song she never heard before probely a bard. she Looks over and see's a bard he was a humen and he played a harp. she likes music It was fun to hear. She sips her milk and waching him play and sing when the song was over hymwen sat at her table thinking Maybe she will give him a coin she has a few and he looks like he needs a couple. So hymwen got up and walks over to him and pulls out a couple coins and hands Them to him and says " hello my name is hymwen darkstar and you look like you Need something to eat." She laughed a little she had a smile on her face waiting for a answer. (hello am newish so I will make a few mistakes and sometimes I will make short posts ok) |

I smiled at the lady as she handed him the coins. He looked into her eyes as he spoke, "Thank you m'lady. Your kindness will not go unreturned. My name is Malik. It is a pleasure to make your aquantance." He took her wrist and kissed the back of her hand as he bowed, lowering his eyes, showing his trust. He called for a waitress. "May I help you?" she asked. "I would like a fresh, cold milk please," he spoke as he handed her the coins and she walked off. He directed his attention towards Hymwen and said, "Where are you from, Lady Hymwen?" |

"I am from the land Fakaver in a village far away from Imythess and where are You from sir." He listened to her words with content and responded fashionably, "Not many people that live in Imythess are from Imythess anymore, are they? I was raised by Druids in Norwood Forest, so you could say I'm a native, as native as they get really. I know the land, I know the people, I know the languages. I could show you around if you'd like. I'm not much for these cities, but the people are kind on the poor side of town, I'm not big on the nobles." "May I sit here sir if you don't mind," she had asked. "Please, feel free to sit, you've bought me my meal for the night, and for that I am grateful. In addition, I could use the company. Tell me, Lady Hymwen, why have you come to this Inn?" He spoke in a gentle tone. He wasn't much of a talker, but this lady had sparked his interest and had bought him his meal, so he was merely being kind and was always curious of a mind's actions. |

He saw Hymwen over the far side next to the bar with a man... hoping he wouldent inturuped anything he made his way over, picking a path through the mass of stools chairs and table's. Upon reaching Hymwen he sat next to her and looked over. "Hey Hymwen its Vestein from the umm library... remember? if im inturpting anything i'll leave." he smilled hoping he wasn't inturupting. he quickly ordered a pint of ale then looked back at Hymwen then at the man smilling. |

Malik noticed the man when he came in and saw that he knew Hymwen before he even spoke. "Hey Hymwen its Vestein from the umm library... remember? if im inturpting anything i'll leave," the man had said Malik quickly responded to the man,"Greetings Vestein, no interruption at all my friend. It is a pleasure to greet you, I am Malik." Malik made a short bow, and when he had finished, he noticed the waitress from before had brung him his milk. "Waitress, could I also have a small piece of that cheesy, meaty, tomatoe saucy pie you are so famous for?" "Yes, yes indeed sir, I will be right back with that, I believe we just pulled another one out of the oven," and at that, the waitress scurried off." |

"Malik is it," the Vestein spoke. "Tis," Malik replied. In turn, Vestein said, "its is good to meet you to Malik. I heard some of you'r song from out side i must say you are quite tallanted." Malik retorted, "Don't be modest. I'm not that good, the harp is not my instrument of choice, but ahh, the Ocarina ommits a sounds so soft and serene, I wish to purchase one, but as you can see, I haven't the gold. I don't like to sing much either, and you, sir? Do you enjoy music, art, etcetera, etcetera?" He took a sip from his milk and his large slice of pizza was set down the the table in front of him by the waitress who's nametag merely said Sarah on it. "Thank you Sarah," said Malik. |

"no as it happens im inept when it comes to music I can't understand the way it flows or the way sutble changes can make a differnt noise compleatly... its beyond me i know my limets. They are skills of a differnt kind such as the subtle movemnts of a weapon, my skill is how to dodge blows and fight for my life... but believe me if i had the time I would look at the finer things in life but not when im being chased out of a town." Vestein turned back to his ale and finished it off. Turning to the stange looking food infront of Malik he look a slice and ate it. "Its good." He smilled. |

Malik nodded his head once in a sort of fashionable bow before he spoke, "But Sir Vestein, are the simpler things in life simple at all? I too have learned the way of the sword, though I am sure if it were a purely weapon battle, you would defeat me, though with my logic and knowledge of more 'simpler' things, I have gained an edge, though I doubt either of us would truely win in such a combative meeting. Never do I ever want to meet you in such a situation, my examples are merely that, examples." He took another sip of his milk, it was fresh and very cold. It was the kind of cold that it was just on the edge of frozen and gave you goosebumps in your chest as it went down your throat. He finished his milk and ordered another. He then finished his luke-warm slice of pizza. |

"I heard it is a nice place so I came here," she said with a smile, "do you play here often malik." He returned the smile and replied, "Indeed, this is a grand cavern compared to the others in the fine City. Alchoholism isn't supported here where it is revered in such taverns around the city of Taras. I don't play here often, I don't spend much time in cities unless I must, this is one of those rare occassions in which I've changed my mind and decided to venture into this city of Taras out of pure curiosity, and the fact that I'm hungry." He thought for a moment, he missed his family, well, not particularly his kin of blood, but those who raised him and those he was raised with, the Druids. He wondered where they were at this very moment, he wondered if they were okay. He knew they had made enemies with several Underdark tribes and several demonic clans. He figured they wouldn't still be in Norwood Forest, where they had raised him, but would have probably moved into a deeper thicket, perhaps in a mountainrange somewhere in Imythess. He then pondered, I wonder if these people know of the druids? "Excuse me, Hymwen and Vestein, but have either of you heard of any Druidic migrations here in Imythess?" he asked them politely and sincerely. |

He pondered on her questions for a moment, "Do they mean a lot to you?" and "Why do you ask?" After several moments and after Hymwen had recieved her second order of milk, he spoke to her softly and in a hushed whisper, "The Druid people originally hailed from Norwood Forest, it is South of her and a bit to the west. Nonetheless, they are south of this city, Taras. I was raised by a druidic monk deep in Norwood Forest within a hidden Druid Grove. After my upbringing, after my education was complete, I was offered a choice, the choice to remain with the Druids and learn their ways as a path of life, or to adventure out into Imythess. You can probably guess what they wanted me to do. I chose the opposing path. I believe they may be in the mountains North of here, or perhaps in the desert to the East." A tear touched his cheek and ran straight to his chin. His red, bloodshot eyes filled with brine, though he didn't whisper. He remained as strong as he could, enough to keep from breaking down. He spoke again, straight to Hymwen in an even quieter voice, "They were being driven out by demonic clans and underdark tribes two years prior to my departure. I just hope they escaped when I left. I hope within my hope of hopes that they escaped and are living. What if they..." He stopped there and knew that if he hadn't, a breakdown was surely in order. |
